I tried Ted's alkalizing lime formula two nights ago - 1/4 teaspoon of sodium bicarb and fresh lime juice to 8 oz of purified water. 5 hours later at 3:00am, I woke up with a stomach ache that lasted for hours. The next day, one of my eyes started twitching and basically hasn't stopped since then. I read that baking soda can pull essential nutrients from your body and FOR SURE that's the case with me! I have tried supplementing with magnesium to stop the eye twitch but it hasn't worked. Next I will try potassium supplements. I'm guessing it's potassium that got zapped.

Be careful with the baking soda, everyone!

Next time I will just do straight up lime or lemon juice in water to alkalize.

Hi Ted,

I have started taking 1/2 fresh organic lime with one tsp of bicarb soda on an empty stomach in the morning yesterday and today to alkalise. My urinary ph went up immediately so it definitely worked. Thank you!

What confuses me is that it seems to really aggravate my vaginal thrush. On both days of taking the remedy in the morning I immediately felt itching, burning and vaginal discharge.

I have specifically not used the ACV as I heard it can be bad for thrush. Any ideas on why this happened?

I am low on magnesium and potassium (supplementing both at the moment).

I also suffer from irregular periods after coming off the pill after 16 years. We are trying to have a baby and so far nothing has really worked.

I have done Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture every week for the last 1.5 years and a few months ago the thrush came and I can't seem to get it away with anything. I started using the borax and it seemed to help immediately until I tried the lime and bicarb soda thing...

Please advise.

Thank you, Judy

Last night I took my first dose of lime and baking soda (for candida, as suggested on EC). Since then, my urine has been very cloudy. I'm assuming this is because of the baking soda? Does this mean I'm taking too much? Is this something I should be concerned about? I just took another dose and made sure I only put 1/2 tsp. Thanks!
