This is my Sunday formula:
Pre-wet soft toothbrush. Pile on DE, VCO, peppermint oil drop, Hydrogen Peroxide drops. Make sure the DE is thoroughly wet and not dusty. You want to avoid inhaling the dust, similar to talc, into your lungs.
I backed off to 1- 2 tsps weekly when I began having slight pains on my right side. (Drinking LOTS of water is VERY essential! )
Plus, others have shown that DE may, over time, bring your good cholesterol (HDL readings) too low even while providing fantastic blood pressure readings. "Moderation in all things" is the best advice my granny gave me. Learning through life... CAT!

I was working in a pharmacy when I found out about how abundant pinworms were. I had never heard of them before. After reading about them, I was certain I had come in to contact with them due to all the time I'd spent near infested patients. I took one dose of pinx to ease my mind. Four days later I had severe diahrrea and got a "cold." I thought this was because I was traveling. Two weeks later, when I was in bed, I was certain I felt a pinch and spotted a worm on my toilet paper. I took the second dose of pinx and three days later started DE, 1 tablespoon in the morning. After a few days I got extremely exhausted. Then a day later I got a headache. The next day I started feeling sick again. It's been 8 days and for the past three I have had a sore throat and extreme congestion (worse than ever). I will wake up vomitting phlegm. I'm aware of the herx reaction. But what worries me is that I've felt sore of detached and out of it the past week as well. It seems as though my vision is a little blurry but I'm not sure if this is because I'm having a hard time concentrating. I started DE about 3 weeks ago. The first 2 weeks I felt fine, no side-effects, no apparent die-off, felt actually a bit better in ways. But into the 3rd week, I started becoming Dehydrated, constipated, gut aches, etc... I took one day off, drank a ton of water, started up again, two days later my bowels are doing fine, but now I have major gut tightness, not really bloated as much as just feeling VERY tight. After this afternoon's dose I felt ill/maliase, etc...
Can it take a couple of weeks to start having die-off symptoms? I've been doing other detox treatments, and probably don't have as much heavy metals and toxic to clean out as some people do which is why maybe I didn't have an initial reaction, but I do have a parasite, and possibly SIBO which I'm hoping DE will take care of.

if you quit the bad the DE can start to do its job.....With DE you will go through a detox part of it ..cleaning out your system ... so it will get worse before it gets better ...and don't tell me you're not eating junk ..hahah your in that age group ...just be honest with yourself ....okay there is another factor if your on certain medication or any sort of liver malfunction can attribute to the acne ...so if the last two are not the issue... it would than have to do with junk food or..milk has been noted as a cause of acne to especial if you have ADHA too...
also what are you cleaning your face with ....wash your hands faithfully and don't touch your face as it will irritate the acne ..well unless your cleaning it out and use an astringent to close the pours ..and don't mix chemicals like acne pads and astringents that would hurt you bad ...do you use a steroid for medication on your face ....it really is simplistic

So ... I went to a local pet store and bought FOOD GRADE DE.
I decided on 1 tablespoon in 4-6 ounces of water each evening and I have given the same amount to my fiance who is a diabetic with high blood pressure, high cholesterol and hemochromatosis.
I immediately started going through the detox process.
My body aches, I have a dry cough, and we both have increased urination, and a slight headache each evening.
The bronchitis appears to be getting better as the severe congestion is gone.
A week into the detox I found that my body hurt too much and I decided to give myself a 3 day break. I just started back and my body is hurting again.
My fiance just started going through the detox and his body got real sore last night and he said he felt like he was getting the flu (a complaint of many DE users.) We talked about the issues we were having with detoxing and decided that we would stick with it as it must be doing something.
I did reduce my dose from 1 tbsp to 2 teaspoons and tonight I will reduce his as well. I have read that it could be that we are detoxing too fast. First and foremost. Water. Lots of water. That is probably more of a given. The other two things I take with my DE are a multivitamin and a pro-biotic. Since DE is removing things from your gut, you want to regulate it with a pro-biotic. I've also heard to take Omega 3 with it, but I haven't purchased any to start with it.

I have been taking DE for 1 month, now! I love it! Overall, I didn't expect much, because I'm pretty healthy - I'm 70 years old and do not take any medications! So I was surprised to find that I had some aches and pains that were cured by the second day!
I started with 1 tsp. Since I was doing fine with it, I increased my dosage by 1 tsp. every 3-4 days. I was up to 1 TBSP within 10 days. For Flea Prevention: start at the head of the cat or dog and go to the tail with a line of the DE from the bottle. Rub it in. Do this once a week during flea season. Once a month during off season. DE is not a cure-all in my opinion, it is part of the prevention. Again, you don't want you or your pet breathing this stuff in so, the environment for application should be very calm. Wrestling a cat and trying to apply this stuff would kick up the dust. It is non-toxic but you don't want it in you or your pets lungs. If your cat is a mixed martial arts specialist, try something else. I also use an old rouge brush - dab it on the back of the neck of one cat who comes by occasionally.
For Ants: Try to locate the entry point of your ant infestation and squirt a small amount of DE in the corners of the house where they are coming in. The ants or bugs will die with contact of this stuff. I had ants coming into certain parts of the house...I watched them and figured out where they were coming from. Problem solved. No need for pesticides. Remember, if you apply DE to the outside of the outside, it will have to be reapplied if there is moisture (rain) or very high humidity. It will wash away.
By the way, I am asthmatic - DE has not bothered me at all when used in this manner. If I had carpets, a respiratory compromised person or small children, I personally would not put it on the floors. This is just my opinion.
