Hello, I use your site all of the time and want to thank you for such useful information!
Recently, my feet started swelling along with blood pressure spiking to very high levels. I do not have high blood pressure so I could not understand what was going on. By day three I figured out I had a tooth infection that was probably starting to seep into my blood causing the swelling, blood pressure spikes, tingling in head, legs, and feet. After speaking with a dentist who felt they were unrelated and would not give me any advice on whether I should go to the ER, I decided to use garlic infused with yogurt (yogurt helps it go down easier). I took about 1 T. of crushed garlic and 1 T. of yogurt. Within 5 minutes the swelling in my feet went away and I felt my blood pressure had gone down. I took my blood pressure and it had dropped over 50 points! Obviously, the blood pressure spikes were brought on by the tooth infection, unbeknownst to the young Dentist!!!
I cook with garlic all of the time, but RAW GARLIC is terrific for blood pressure and infections!!!
Thanks!
Serbian Tradition

Here's an old Serbian tradition for the New Year and a great way to take garlic - dip a peeled garlic clove into a dish of honey and scoop as much honey as you can with the clove- pop in your mouth and chew. If you need a little more honey - sip on an extra teaspoon or so. It's actually quite tasty, and even as kids, my brother and I never minded this mixture at all. Also, for some reason, the garlic odor seems to be a little more "contained" in the honey and seems to fade away sooner. Try it! You'll be pleasantly surprised.

I have COPD and chronic Bronchitis. I have recently been searching for a way to eliminate constant congestion and and continuous nasty cough. I found this site and now visit the health food store almost weekly. I love it and tell everyone I see. Anyway, back to the congestion, I took 2 cloves of garlic and smashed it and downed it chased by water late in the evening. Amazingly I feel 90% better after 1 night. I will do this again today and see if it continues to get better. I slept very good and did not wake up coughing all night. I also noticed in the morning that I am coughing up all kinds of junk. That is definitely an improvement. I will continue this for a few days and post another comment as I progress. I am very interested in the MSN method also. Could someone please post more specific instructions. Where do you buy MSN? Is it liquid, capsule, powder, etc? How much do you use and do you mix with water? Thanks.
EC: Hi, Sarah. Do you mean MSM (Methyl Sulfonyl Methane) or MMS (Miracle Medical Supplement)?
Sore Throats

I was coming down with strep throat, ealy stages, extreme sore throat, plem build up in lungs...so I made a Ms. Grass chicken noodle soup, brought it to a boil, sliced up 9 cloves of fresh garlic, put them in the boiling soup, I then let it simmer for 2-3 minutes, and put in a massive amount of black pepper. I then let it cool a little and ate it. It burned quite a bit but it opened everything up, I mean everything. I then went to bed and could actually FEEEL the garlic in my blood working, seriously, it was like my blood was burning, in a good way...killing the virus. I woke up and the fever was gone and I hacked up some extremely large chucks of phlem from my lungs, all of it...the infection was killed, it all came right out witha few coughs...I was really shocked, and cured 100% no joke. For those of you who have had strep throat then you know how horrible it is...so if garlic did this in one night for me I hope others read this and perhaps it will help with you in a similar situation...if you can handle smelling like garlic for a week....the side affects are worth it.

Yes! Garlic is a wonder cure to have on hand. I read about it's properties a few years ago and have been using it every sense.
It works like a natural antibiotic, it kills off the bad stuff and leaves the good stuff along.
When I have a Cold or Sinus infection I will use it. I cut up a clove of fresh Garlic as small as I can. Then I will swallow as much as I can in one swallow with water to chase it down, swallow just like it was a pill. You do not have to eat it or chew it . Do this 3 to 4 times a day. I usually do it for 5 to 7 days. I store the cut up garlic in a small glass bowl in the refrigerator.
Hints and Tips

I was just wondering if there was a time of the day that you should take the garlic cloves. Does it matter if you take it after a meal or should you take it before a meal. Does it have any less effect if you don't take it on an empty stomach?
Or is it the case that as long as you take it that's all that matters...that one shouldn't be concerned about the placement/time of taking it.
I just started taking the garlic...after I peel 1-3(depending on the size of the clove) garlic cloves I squash them with a garlic press and then scoop it out and drink it with water.
Thanks

Hi Jeri. After you peel then squash the garlic...Why do you let it sit for 10-15 minutes??? What is the reasoning/benefit behind that?
I just started taking the garlic...after I peel 1-3(depending on the size of the clove) garlic cloves I squash them with a garlic press and then scoop it out and swallow it with water. Will I get the same benefit if I don't wait the 10-15 minutes that you say it should sit for?
Thanks

Garlic cured my jaw infection! One of molars in my upper jaw broke off about a year ago, all the way down to the gums. I don't have insurance and am mortally afraid of going to the dentist, so when my cheek swelled up yesterday, I panicked. I tried green clay, bit it didn't help much. After sleeping 3 hours and not knowing what to do about the pain (painkillers didn't help much either), I decided to do a search on the Internet and stumbled across your site.
Garlic worked wonders! I chewed it and pressed the pulp against the 'hole' between my teeth. It stung so badly, I had tears in my eyes, but after 5 minutes the pain had subsided. Am absolutely overjoyed! Will continue to treat with garlic, I have a really good feeling about it. Thank you!

just this past week aa nasty bug was going around that consisted of nasal congestion, sore throat, and fatigue and i caught it. finally on friday i decided i wanted to be well for the weekend so i fished out my natural cures book and found out the MIRACLE. i ate 4 cloves of garlic uncooked... of course the taste was horrendous but i am not kidding after the first one i could feel the difference. it makes sense because of its anti bacterial/fungal/viral properties and its ability to strengthen the immune system. i will do this whenever i start to feel sick because i'm serious it totally cured me within 30 minutes

I did a Juice fast and very quickly sent my Thyroid from Hypo to Hyper in the blink of an eye. I've had a very dangerous high hyper. Anyhow I've had very bad breathing attacks and tightness in chest. Numbing in front and back of chest, Dizzy and fatigue. Didn't feel great from the chest to the head. RAW GARLIC has been truely AMAZING. This and LICOURICE ROOT in high strength are so powerful at giving Vitality. Honestly unless your real ill you just won't appreciate how great Garlic really is. I've been in a right mess at times and Garlic was a king. Also for Coughs get this licourice it's wonderful. I've had a cough ever since but it's easing. I'm taking many organic medicinal tinctures and wheatgerm oil. Now finally putting weight back on which is a relief. Any illness reach for the Water, Garlic, Licourice, Blackstrap Molasses and Cayenne Peppers. No joke this stuff is AMAZING and cheap as chips. Don't be put off by any idiots who attack Garlic. Their paid off most of them or have not a single clue about true illness and healing. Dr John Ray Christopher highly praised Garlic and he was the greatest modern Vitalist healer in the World.

I was involved in the building of the Lipitor factory for the then Warner Lambert in Ringaskiddy, Cork Ireland. The Irish have never been good at keeping secrets. Lipitor comes from garlic.
Eat garlic, it doesn't have the side effects of Lipitor.
When you think about it, your body is the result of a million years of development. It has been 'built' to run on natural products not the chemicals that pharmacuticals have designed in the last 20 years.

I have had a bad virus and coughing badly for the last few days and worse at night I got up and chewed a clove of garlic it tasted horrible and burned a bit but am sure it helped me and I'm going to take it again when symptoms come on through the day. As I able to stay home as I do not work due to suffering with ME/CFS I am not worried about the smell.

NO odor by eating fresh garlic cloves.
You do NOT have to have bad breath, the secret is NOT to bite/chew it. EVERY MORNING I squash and peel 2-3 cloves, chop up finely, let stand 10-15 minutes then I swallow it (without chewing) as I drink a glass of freshly squeezed lemon juice (with real warm water). NO garlic breath. (A few years ago, when working in a legal office, I would drink down the garlic cloves with Barley Greens and no one ever said I had garlic breath.) If you want to make sure you can later chew and eat some fresh parsley sprigs.
P.S. - when you first start doing this, you may have some garlic odor (I don't know if on your breath or from your skin) until your body adjusts but don't give up or despair because the health benefits are worth the initial 'inconvenience', if you have any.

How did you consume garlic for weight loss ? How many cloves of garlic did you eat per day, at what time of day, before meals or after meals? Also, how long did it take before you saw results?

I ate 1 raw clove of garlic hoping to kill some bacteria (an unrelated cure I had read about here and was trying) An unexpected side effect: I woke up the next day feeling happier than I have in a long time. Energetic. I felt trimmer. I felt like I had been carrying around a dress size worth of water and it was gone. I'm starting to think garlic is a miracle food. I think it's cured my infection and happily I think it will be the cure to my chronic bloating. Thanks for the site!

12/01/2008: Gerald from Midland, MI writes: "I like your comments...a lot of us are extreme conservatives, so you're not alone! I used garlic for packing on 40lbs of muscle in 6 months...It even kills botulism... a tough nut to crack ...my animals that were treated with garlic lived (and it arrested paralysis) the others died quickly, even with medication."
Most interesting to hear that you "used garlic for packing on 40lbs of muscle in 6 months".....could you please provide more information, i am always interested seeking natural way of building muscle, how do you take the garlic, raw or cook, and how much do you take, also why are you so sure it was garlic that help building muscle in your case. Thanks in advance.
Xanthelasmas

For years I've had Xanthelasmas (fatty deposits) around the orbit of my eye. I've had them surgically removed several years ago but they soon returned. After reading of the many healing uses for garlic, I decided to give it a try. I cut medium sized cloves in half and applied the juice to the deposit. I would hold the clove on the affected area for 10-15 minutes using slight pressure. After about 5 minutes, I could feel a slight burn. I continued this regiment for 3 days. After each treatment the size of the deposit was reduced and finally dried up after 3 treatments. It appeared to draw the fat to the surface which I removed with tweezers on the 3rd day. Presently I'm continuing this process on the other deposits. I've found fresh oily garlic when cut works best. I'm quite happy with the results. It also provided relief from the pain and swelling. Thank you for clinic and my oppurtunity to contribute.

For years and with my children growing up I have used soft gel garlic capsules. The first onset of a cold I take or give my children 2-5 of the soft gel capsules. By the next morning you are expelling green guck. Garlic really does help and cure colds. I am a believer! I have had strep throat many many times in my life and I still have my tonsils after 50 years and I say it is due to the garlic that I have taken. When I get sick my throat area is the weak point of my body and that is what I usually get is a cold other wise I am a well individual.
