In response to Rob from NJ who wrote: "Bad pain in hands and feet. Please help how to take DMSO and what's the protocol is internally and externally."

Longtime DMSO user here.

I personally use mine on sore body parts straight. First I put on a thin layer of castor oil (to protect the skin), then I use an eye dropper to measure, and so I know my starting dose. Eg. for my two crushed discs I started with 7 drops per side. Leave the area uncovered for 20 mins, then get dressed again.

How I take it internally:

I typically use only 1/4 tsp of it 1x day. It's a solvent so it wants into your tissues, fast! So it's disconcerting to start to drink it, swallow, but there's nothing left cause it was already absorbed in the back of your throat!

As time goes on DMSO will actually heal you! And you will need less and less. If you don't want to fuss with castor oil, you could dilute the DMSO with distilled water, to a level of 50/50, and apply it that way. I was telling a friend of my crushed disc protocol, that I started 3 yrs ago and gradually cycled down as I healed when I realized I hadn't put any on my back in 2 months! So remember, you're not treating, you'll actually be healing. Best of luck on your healing!

I got a sore throat and applied iodine to my neck glands on the outside of my neck then for good measure I applied some DMSO to drive it in. I noticed to within minutes the mucus got thin and runny and greatly relieved the congestion. This is a great find for me as decongestant are meant to be very useful in Lipedema. I experienced DMSO as a powerful decongestant.

Take no notice of WebMD site - they are shills of the pharma industry, and they don't want anyone taking something that is going to detract from selling their very own poisons.

Wikipedia also is open to editing by anyone authorised to do so, and FDA/pharma shills can easily alter information - you could too, if you paid for the privilege.

Peripheral Neuropathy, Shingles and Arthritis

Regarding DMSO, I have used it both internally and externally for years with what I feel are very good results. I take 1 tsp of the 99.9% pure liquid every morning along with cider vinegar and H2O2 in a glass of water. Since I've been doing this, I can get out of bed in the morning, stand up straight and walk like a normal person. I also use DMSO / aloe vera gel for aches and pains from arthritis. I am 75 and have peripheral neuropathy due to agent orange in Vietnam, and DMSO gel is also a big pain reliever for my achy feet and hands.

You can buy both products on Amazon, but I found the pure liquid is cheaper at " Pet Meds". The gel is 70% DMSO and 30% aloe. From all I've read, and that's quite a lot, it is more effective at the 70 / 30 ratio when applied toppically.

If you want to learn more about DMSO, there is a good but short book available online from "HOOPLA". I don't remember the authors name, but the book is, "What Doctors Need to Know about DMSO."

At present time, I am also using it topically to treat my 'shingles', and it is working unbelievably well. I simply apply the gel several times a day. It has stopped the spread and kept the rash to limited space, as well as reducing pain.

DMSO and Sterilization

The problem with one misstatement of fact is that it travels around the world in a split second. I recommend reading DMSO the persecuted drug, before making statements like DMSO causes sterility in humans. Either you have not done any research or somebody told you something and instead of checking it out and confirming or disproving, you just posted it. In law a perjured person is a person who has spoken a lie, whether or not intentional does not matter. Now, are you speaking that you personally have been sterilized and the blood tests have come back that DMSO did that to you? Well, please grace us with the report because if that is true then we must be careful to avoid this deadly substance. What ever your issue is, please research before spewing it. Thank you.

I have been quite excited about this DMSO product. I just bought a quart that is 99.996 purity. I have used DMSO externally for stubbed toes, joint pain, back pain, Herpes cold sore preventative.

I have used DMSO internally in water *distilled water* I take a cap full in a 16 ounce glass of water. once a day. Sometimes I will do that twice but on the second day in a row of doing that ( 4 cap fulls in two days--the Dr. jacobs bottle lid 8 ounce bottle lid) I have trouble sleeping the second night because I am up peeing very frequently.

the Frequent urination is not much different than the affect from excessive blood sugar.

I just learned that ringworm on the skin is also a symptom of poor blood sugar control.

I suffer from a diabetes symptoms and am looking to solve the problem with foods and other natural solutions. I think it is type II diabetes because I have frequent urination, often have excessive dry mouth, low energy after meals, tingling feet and fingers ( mostly feet and the little toes it is most noticeable),

I was wondering if that DMSO might have some positive affects on the Diabetes issue. I am a bit of a risk taker so I am trying it. I would rather not get shot up with Doctor prescribed pills, (pharakia-- witchcraft, in Greek).

Keeping the circulatory system moving is a must -

If you gargle about a shot of DMSO it will help tighten loose teeth, saturate the gums with oxygen while destroying gingivitis bacterium lurking at the gum line & then after a few minutes of swishing "Swallow" Yup, clears the arteries slows or stops Alzheimer's & lots of other goodies Ted raves about - ask & he will tell. But then ya stink like Potato socks or rancid garlic.

Now follow the Borax Baking Soda regime (https://www.earthclinic.com/remedies/borax-baking-soda-benefits.html) & your sweat will smell like a freshly washed baby. Ok, maybe not but you won't stink like Road Kill either.

Well, ORH, I can assure you that many of the posters (me included) know the score. However, perhaps this isn't the best forum for those types of discussions.

I admit - sometimes it feels like we're just rearranging the deck chairs on the Titantic. However, there are lots of people (doctors, lawyers, whistleblowers, real scientists) who are doing their bit to get the information out.

You may have heard of Del Bigtree. I get his newsletters with links to the videos. His website is being updated to have a community forum some time soon (he said July) so people can interact with each other.

I'm sure you will find it interesting.

Take care,

My warning is not about DMSO, which I use and recommend. My warning is about listening to Clark about leaving cats outside. Stop the witch hunt on cats and stay on subject. DMSO. Cats have nothing to do with DMSO. Totally not related. Cats are not parasite givers. USE DMSO, ignore Clark's advise about indoor cats... not related at all.

Tooth abscess /swollen gums:

  • Mix about a teaspoon of DMSO with a pinch or two of table salt.
  • Dissolve the solution/apply with finger on top of the abscess and all around the affected area. Spit.
  • Do not rinse or eat for at least an hour.

Bedtime application works best. bye bye root canal $$$$

Also ground sage and water make a great oral rinse for fast toothache relief.

But for infection & abscess, the DMSO and table salt mix applied topically can't be beat!

Because DMSO carries substances into your skin you have to be careful about what you apply it with. I would never use a plastic roller as I do not want the chemicals from the plastic in my system. I also would not use my hands to apply it because if there is any DMSO left on your hands even after washing, then everything you handle with your hands all day long will be absorbed as well. I use a small glass bottle or jar to apply it! I just put a small amount on the outside of the jar and use the jar to rub it into my skin. Then I wash the outside of the jar with a pure soap and water and reuse it for next time. I am trying to think of something better that is made of glass such as a glass pestle or something.

Quite by accident I discovered that by adding a drop of peppermint essential oil to a cotton ball with DMSO on it I did not smell of rotten garlic! My husband with the super nose who could always tell when I was using DMSO never smelled it. I used it 3 times a day for a week and a half before telling him. It's amazing. No bad breath, no stinky skin. I wasn't using an expensive brand either. DMSO is too good to make us social outcasts while using it.

My dog was snoring extremely heavily and lethargic. He developed an open wound on a front leg that I helped heal but then he developed a sty on his eye.

I read on earth clinic that sties are a form of staph. I had some DMSO (sulfur) so I started treating his wound with it mixed in an aloe gel with other herbs and I also sprinkled some DMSO drops on his food. I started a similar regime too because the skin on my right hand started to split everywhere and bled spontaneously. We both healed up beautifully in about a week's time.

I continue to keep us on oral DMSO as a maintenance/precautionary move to ward off anything else that might come our way. This is recommended by the supplier.

DMOS & HSV2 -- Wow, what a product. I had been getting outbreaks every two weeks for over 25 years. Some times I would have up to 17 in one month. They would come one right after another. I tried various creams ointments and meds. After three days on DMSO...no out breaks now for over 2 months and counting!

Mike 62 Thank you for your feedback on this. I will look into this thing you have said. I have never heard of such a thing but am willing to look into it. I believe that much of what is passed off as knowledge in the "medical Industrial complex" aka Doctors is more for their benefit than mine. A follow up on symptoms: For about a week I kept very close tabs on what I ate and when I ate and how I felt as far as energy and then I kept tabs on how I slept between urinations. The recent experience I have had with this issue I have kept notes to prevent the experience again and here are some of my findings from my own experience: From the 12/9/2013 to 12/22/2013 I kept notes of every thing I ate and drank and each time. My symptoms disappeared when I ate properly. When I ate only foods low on the glycemic scale and really rationed the molasses and sweets. I also added 2 TBS of Apple cider vinegar in water before each meal. Here is what worked: Not every thing I ate is listed. (But one thing that I noticed negative affects almost every time: alcohol had a negative affect on my energy level, a few hours later when it would hit me). Chia seed in water: One scoop in (16) sixteen ounces of distilled water-- I sipped once in the morning during this period of time. I had a glass of DMSO flavored water also to sip on which was 1 cap full in sixteen ounces of water And I also made a crock pot full of water and green tea bag with rosemary leaves and some fennel seeds to soak and I would dip out of that and drink that tea blend. ( It served as a humidifier also durning this very dry winter). I would add water to it as necessary. Trail mix with extra cocktail peanuts to reduce the amount of sweets percentage. Raw cabbage to munch on also ( It is cheep and low glycemic so can be eaten often. Avocado once in a while ( as they are quite expensive) I found that eggs are very helpful in the general sense of well being. I ate them scrambled, and boiled with coconut oil and turmeric also once in a while. I consumed about seven or eight dozen eggs in that time. To the eggs I added raw garlic chopped and raw onion chopped. Home made sauerkraut also was a regular in my diet during that time Celery sticks, Extra Virgin Olive Oil with turmeric in the oil, Hand fulls of just plain cocktail peanuts ( with no MSG). Eating late is not helpful. So I kept the meals small and tried to make sure I ate a few hours before bed time. I hope this information helps somebody. I will, if God wills, keep keeping track of diet along with the general sense of well being after the meals. Thank you for the website and the information here at Earth Clinic I appreciate the opportunity to learn to take care of my own health. Thank you.

I have been using DMSO for many years and found it to be like a miracle curative product for all types of ailments, from sore shoulder, injured knee, cuts, bites, pulled tooth, and everything in between. It is mornally used internally, however many take it internally in lieu of MSM, as MSM is derived from DMSO anyway and DMSO is a free radical scavenger, whereas MSM is not.

DMSO does have the odor taste and smell problem, however I finally found a supplier of a product called the DMSO. BZ solution of DMSO. This product has a special mixture in it that takes away just about all those problems, and also much of the stinging and itching that one can experience with using DMSO. Those people even put it in their eyes to get rid of irritation, they claim their product is so pure.

Just thought I would add my ten cents to the discussion because I have had such excellent results with their product. I share it with a lot of family and friends also.

Recommended DMSO Books
Posted by Robert Henry (Ten Mile, Tn Usa) on 10/19/2011

A friend sent me the book, The Persecuted Drug, The Story of DMSO. It was published in 1973 but is chilling how ruthless the FDA was then and now. How they punish people for the pure pleasure of it and protect the mamoth drug industry. I worked for Crown Zellerbach in the 60's and was aware of DMSO, but not like this book describes. It was made in their mill in Boguloosa, La. and I knew the supervisor of the plant. He said no employee that worked in that area had ever had a cold or the flu. All employees stole the product to give to old relatives who had arthritis and such. They all knew of it's benifits first hand.

Anyway, I encourage you to buy and read this old book. DMSO is a product that could revolulationize medicine if given a chance. You can use it on a million dollar horse, but it is against the law for you to receive its benifits. Why? It is too cheap and is not patentable.

I promise you that if you read this book and don't shed a few tears, then you are a hard person. The FDA is exposed with this story. They ruined a number of good dedicated doctors to prove that they are omnipotent.

As Dr Jacob says, horses don't know about plecabo's or double blind tests. It it works , they run, if not , then they don't run. Sounds right to me.

Please read the book.

DMSO and B12

I plan to do the recommendations of Dr. David Gregg dissolving Vitamin B12 in DMSO:

"The absorption of vitamin B12 requires a highly specialized process which tends to become less effective with age...I realized that if I dissolved vitamin B12 in DMSO, it might carry it directly to my blood stream through my skin. I tried it and the results were dramatic for me, far greater than any impact I had ever felt from oral or sublingual tablets. I put some of my vitamin B12 tablets obtained at a health food store into a two liquid ounce bottle with an eyedropper and filled it with DMSO. It took a couple of days for the tablets to fall apart. Once they did, I put an eyedropper load on one arm and rubbed it in. In approximately one hour I started to feel very good, which was a sense of general strength and well-being."

Uh yea, Hulda Clark would have us all living in pressurized, sterilized, hermetically sealed space bubbles. I read Cure for All Diseases. At first I was enthused and it sounded kind of right. But the further along I read the more I realized Dr. Clark had developed some kind of obsessive/compulsive disorder bordering on total paranoia. What kind of life would one live if they followed all of Clark's directives? There is such a thing as too clean. We do have immune systems. I love cats.

I applied DMSO (and aloe vera gel from my plant incase it irritated my skin) to the back of my hand to treat a squamous cell carcinoma. I applied both twice a day for around a week and it was no longer visible. I continued to apply it once a day for another week or two until I visited the skin cancer clinic to have the area excised (just in case). The pathology report showed there was no malignancy left. Not only did it get rid of the SCC, it also got rid of the red, itchy and painful scar where the SCC had grown.

I have taken DMSO internally but only in several drops with some distilled water. I did it to make the "Chlorine dioxide" more effective for my diabetes. I have neuropathy from the diabetes and spray the 70 percent solution (you can dilute the 100% pharmaceutical grade down to the 70 percent by adding pure water to it. Or you can purchase the 70 percent dilution-perhaps on Amazon. I spray it all over my legs from the knee down, and add a bit of virgin coconut oil over top rubbing it in. It does wonders for me. I would say it reduces the pain 80-90 percent. Hope this helps you.

I have been looking for that one death that has been harped upon concerning DMSO and I think I have found it. Doctors kill in the neighbourhood of one hundred thousand people a year in the hospitals and with pharmaceuticals and man made toxins they call medicines and one (1) woman dies with DMSO in her blood and the DMSO is maligned? What a crock of baloney.

Pulled Muscles
Posted by Boo (Barren Springs, Va) on 03/13/2012
★★★★★

At the end of January, my husband and I were working on a big digging project, doing most of it by hand. While lifting one shovelful of dirt, I felt a "pop" in my neck/shoulder area. It didn't hurt immediately, so I (foolishly) kept on working. A week later found me in the after-hours clinic at my local Dr. 's office. The doctor on call told me to take up to 3 ibuprofen 2x/day. I laughed at him. So he prescribed neurontin. Thus started a 6 week journey through nerve/muscle pain, severe cramps, and rolling muscle spasms. Over the course of time I've taken neurontin (nerve pain), NSAIDS (general muscle agony and inflammation), and finally my own Dr. prescribed Valium (to ease the rolling charley horses from my shoulder to the back of my hand). My Dr. knows that I hate drugs, and the only reason she gave me valium is because I was also visiting a chiropractor and a deep muscle massage therapist.

Finally, I realized that I had to take care of my own self. I've lightly used DMSO in the past, mainly for treating a toenail fungus. This time I got serious.

I made a special trip to the health food store for a bottle of DMSO, dried comfrey leaves and powdered root, some magnesium, kava kava, and a container of MSM lotion.

I poured some of the DMSO into a separate glass container and filled the original up with leaves and root and let it sit for a couple of hours. I didn't measure anything, just eyeballed the entire conglomeration. I wandered to my husband's office, and 'borrowed' a ceramic coffee cup.

Using an unbleached coffee strainer, I poured the mixture into the cup in an attempt to strain it. What a mucilaginous mess.

The next morning I used the resultant slime (for that's what it truly resembled) and rubbed it into my left arm from neck, through the armpit, across the back, and to my fingertips. I smelled STRONGLY of garlic, even more so than when using just plain DMSO. I either got used to it, or it faded away.

Anyway, I thinned the slime with a bit more DMSO, and placed it in a glass dropper bottle to carry with me. I use it several times daily, especially upon rising and before bed. Sometimes I use the MSM lotion first, let it soak in, and then follow with the DMSO/comfrey mixture. Yes, I realize the closeness of MSM and DMSO, but honestly, the lotion has made a big difference in the softness of my skin.

Kava kava is a muscle relaxant that replaced the valium. I used that in conjunction with the magnesium citrate to relax my muscles and get some much-needed sleep.

After 6 days, my chiropractor was fairly amazed at the looseness of my shoulder/neck/arm muscles. My spine was fairly well aligned, signifying that the muscles were no longer tensing and pulling my vertebrae out of alignment. I still have some nerve issues, especially around the elbow, but it has improved more within the last few days than I would have thought possible. No more valium, neurontin, and quite a bit less of the NSAIDs.

So...long story short:

  • Kava kava magnesium to relax muscles (taken before bed)
  • DMSO to use as a carrier for allatoin (comfrey leaves/roots) to heal muscle/tendon injuries applied several times/day
  • MSM lotion for when I don't want to smell like a garlic patch.

Hopefully, this will help someone. Thank you EarthClinic, for your storehouse of knowledge.
