Nebulizing DMSO

I tried the DMSO in a nebulizer and it ate through the plastic. If anybody can recommend a solution to nebulizing DMSO, I'd appreciate it- I don't want to be inhaling fumes from melting plastic. Thanks

I have several books on DMSO and the only thing I can find on nebulizing with DMSO as it can only be a 40 to 50% solution....that would be a mix with distilled water and not to cause damage to equipment. I have not tried it yet, so only going by the written word in my books.

Trigger Thumb

I just recently purchased some DMSO at the Tractor Supply store near me for a trigger thumb issue I'm having. I was nervous too, there are a lot of scary warnings out there! I just made sure I washed my hand with as hot of water as I could handle (and soap), patted dry and applied with a cotton ball.

I believe it's helping! So for your foot, soak and wash really thoroughly, let it sink in and dry on your skin for 15-20 minutes and then rinse off keeping in mind that if you use soap to wash it off, it could possibly take the soap through your skin...? I'm not sure if that's over-cautious, but better safe than sorry! Then use a white sock to be safe, I've read it can take clothing dyes right through the skin as well...

But I have been rinsing and putting my hand into a black thumb brace to keep it from bending and have had no issues...Good Luck!

I'm sorry it sounded confusing. I use a cotton ball to apply the DMSO to my skin. Now I just add a drop or two of peppermint essential oil to the wet cotton ball. I have never used DMSO internally so I do not know how that would work.

I learned about DMSO from watching Tony Pantalleresco's YouTubes, one of which is about using DMSO and turpentine and salts in a bath. I had first used DMSO that I bought at the health food store 99.9% pure for $13 for 4 oz. The one at the feed store was 99.9% pure and $9 for 16 oz. So I bought that and have seen no ill effects. What is medicinal grade DMSO? How can it be more pure than 99.9%? So I guess the horse DMSO is medicinal grade. Does anyone know what is what with this issue? Am I missing something?

Also, I have not dared to take this internally but I guess a lot of you do. I will have to read more about it.

I have enjoyed reading so many of your posts. I also read that DMSO should not be used daily but some of you have used it daily, and internally, for decades. And there you are: alive!

I have seen many posts here about DMSO. I found some that is 90% DMSO gel. When I mix it with aloe juice to get it to less than 70% solution to apply topically, it gets quite hot for several seconds. This happens less if I mix it with castor oil. I don't understand what is happening chemically.

It seems as if I have seen it said that you can't mix DMSO with other things ahead of time and must mix right before using. Is that correct? I was wanting to try DMSO and Colloidal Silver in a spray bottle for bug bites.

I appreciate your opinions. Thank you.

Hello Justin,

I, too, am a DMSO advocate and use it regularly as you use it topically and internally and have done so "off and on" as you said.

While it's natural to think of "association" as "causation" .... my first take on your reaction is that the cause is not...NOT.... the DMSO combo. It just so happened that a case of Montezuma's revenge hit you at about the same time that you took the DMSO combo.

As evidence, if the DMSO were the cause, you would have been over it in a day or two. But the fact that you continue to suffer tells me you have a very bad case of bacterially induced gastro infection.

And you're living in Mexico. I visited Albania/Romania a year ago and had read in the autobiography "MD" which is the life of a parasitalogist that Montezuma's is actually world wide and can be caused by bacteria and virus. There is a lot around the Mediterranean as well as Latin America. Well, it hit me in a big way, but I was expecting it....never felt anything like it before; like a fist in my stomach and I went straight to my Apple Cider Vinegar ..... and bought more a few days later. Avoided the huge consequences, but barely.

Maybe I'm wrong...and I look forward to see what others say. But a die off? I don't think so.

Get on ACV asap... two tablespoons in glass of water...drink over an hour...repeat two hours later. See if that improves and if so, you will know the cause was pathogens and not DMSO.

PS....I have NEVER had any adverse reaction with DMSO...and taken it for decades.

I think the reason you had such strong diarrhea after mixing those ingredients with the DMSO it's because magnesium if taken in a large dose causes diarrhea the DMSO just amplified everything you took as if you took larger doses of each of them.

The only person who ever complained was my girlfriend who cannot stand it. No one else seemed bothered. I used it for my painful bladder which was so bad I could not even drive my car over the bumps in the road. I read that doctors were using it for this and it helped with the pain greatly. I am finally cured all these many years later from this. I meditate and sought the reason for the bladder and was finally healed. I still use DSMO for Lyme disease arthritis I acquired many years ago while hiking and being bit by tick. I had the Bull's eye and the whole thing before anyone knew what it was. I am still stuck with the arthritis mostly in my neck and back, chest. Now I am thinking about using DMSO for an ear infection as a last ditch effort. I have been taking antibiotic ear drops for ear for the past ten years at 200 dollars per month. Insurance pays but will no longer do so. Ear comes and goes and was really bad with the start of winter. I got this infection from someone who gave me a massage and breathed into my mouth. This infection started in my lungs and moved to my ears. The ear drops contained antibiotics with cortisone. I just bought over the counter cortisone and am using it. I do not have a fever. My neck is now involved and my left tonsil/throat. I just saw an allergist who did not know about this ear. I saw the dead of Cedar's Sinai who did not know about it either and another doctor on Santa Monica Blvd. Does anyone now if DMSO will work? I bet it will at least get rid of the pain.

I am going to get some eye drop containers and start the mixing. There is a book on DMSO by the same doctors who wrote one about MSM. I only read the MSM one but what I understood is that it is clear that you can use DMSO internally, I even think that it is usually used internally but that because of the odor you can better use MSM. One of the doctors has ran a DMSO clinic in the US for many years, maybe he still does..... If you go on Amazon you will find several books on both subjects.

Thank You for explaining Vitamin C, short and to the point.

I had a similar observation doing alcohol withdrawal treatments on myself. The vitamins from the store were useless. But when I was getting an I.V in the vein, I was up and rosy looking in hours. Otherwise, it would be several days.

Withdrawal is not the same as "hangover". It's deadly.

I have been doing a DMSO hair growth trial on myself using DMSO, allantoin and phosphytilserine. The DMSO is there mainly as a carrier but it helps as antioxidant. Our bodies natural response to inflammation is to oxidize the crap out of the injured area which isn't always necessary, especially in autoimmune disorders.

Hi Roxie, There are two companies I found that make a supposedly 'odorless' high purity DMSO.

The DMSO store and Biogenics essential.

Haven't tried either, as I don't seem to get the garlic odor from my Nature's Gift DMSO I can get at local coop. Although now that I have started oral use after years of external use only; I am realizing that Nature's Gift is not as careful and pure as I would like, so considering other brands myself.

I read that sometimes you get more garlic odor from a less pure product also that some folks are detoxing more and so get the odor more.

Each morning, I take a low dose of amour thyroid, 15 grains, the apply glutathione and a biodentical hormone, both transdermally. To help with absorption, I put a few drops of DMSO on the glutathione. I have been doing this a little while.

One morning, I added a lot more of the DMSO by mistake (maybe a teaspoon or more?), but since it was external, I didn't think it mattered. I then took guaifenisin (mucinex), and had all of the reactions of dosing too high on it. Thankfully, it wasn't timed release, but the effects still took about 4 hours to wear off, so mostly annoying, and guafinesin isn't toxic. It seemed the only difference that day was the amount of DMSO. I tend to be sensitive, and maybe it was because everything was taken closer together, but DMSO is pretty powerful.

DMSO and Lugol's Iodine: yea- I think.

It couldn't had been more than 3 droppers full of 2% lugols and within about 5 minutes I became aware of a slight pain which I realized was my thyroid. It kind of scared me, it didnt really hurt, it was just that I was very aware of it, and had never felt it before. Anyone else experience something like this? I know DSMO acts as a carrier and allows things to be absorbed, the whole blood brain barrier thing..?

Those of you who got it from the farm store do you feel safe using this in spite of these warnings?? I once bought dmso from a company and loved it. Great for burns, but I saw no warnings on the bottle. Any thoughts so much appreciated. My bottle came from Tulsa, Ok. if that helps.

First time trying DMSO. Just received my order (via Amazon), distributed by a construction/materials company. Claimed to be pharmaceutical grade (at least 99.9% pure, and undiluted), with a glass roll-on bottle and a 16oz refill bottle which is #2 HDPE plastic, the recommended material.

I heard that it doesn't have a scent, or very little. But this stuff has a chemically smell (not sulfur or garlic or other things described as normal). How would I know if it's actually what it claims to be?

I have been using it for a few days, straight on the skin, sometimes with coconut oil after application. There's only a fleeting and mild heating-up sensation. Haven't experienced any garlicky taste. Some itching later, but not more than I get from using transdermal magnesium chloride, which is really itchy to me. Except that with the DMSO I sometimes get itching in places where I had not even applied it to (like the back of my neck, which broke out in itchy bumps like mosquito bites after sweating).

Another question: I had also dropped some in my mouth with iodine, as Walter Last suggested on is website for possible deep tooth problems (may have a problem with a root canal from over a year ago, which never fully stopped hurting). But then I thought about the 3 fillings I have left, made up of the old style mercury amalgam. Not to mention whatever material it is that filled the root canal. What's the probability that the DMSO would leech the mercury and other materials quickly and directly into my blood (even across the blood-brain barrier)? And more so than would happen anyways without it?

I have been drinking a bit of DMSO too, in mint tea (with a shot of Borax dissolved in purified water, and sometimes a few drops of Lugol's, and ACV which had eggshells steeped in it for calcium). Probably not more than a quarter to a half teaspoon of DMSO yet. I'm undecided as to whether I should be doing this or not, but seemed to be worth a try.

I will be getting magnesium chloride, and a bottle of colloidal mineral liquid, ascorbic acid powder, and MSM powder. Maybe to make a mixed solution with, to add some DMSO to and drink.

Any suggestions or potential reasons this may not be a good idea?

Thanks.

I am no expert on this but I think that combining the two in proper ratio insures top levels in the body. DMSO has many benefits as does MSM, but the DMSO can cause odor problems at therapeutic doses, where this does not occur with MSM. Evidently DMSO is limited in it's conversion to MSM.

RH: For over 20 yrs I hadn't a pet due to being un-established and living from pillar-to-post. Factor in also the tragic single or bachelor status, and in 2004 where I moved to a country setting (now become completely developed) it was so wonderful to have a pet kitty, then a mommy kitty and a batch of kittens. I have one of that litter still abiding here and doing well. I kept them wormed regular w/ Piperazine for adult Ascaris but looking back in hindsight, would have also needed the Ivermectin.

Anyway, about the LET. Are you feeling improved from the LET Vit-C?? I have been thinking how much assured you should feel as to that recent cancer deal (if I am not mistaken it was yourself).

As for the Glutathione, many people use a more cost effective method of supplementing NAC, Selenium, and Melatonin orally, although Liposomal GTH is the best it terms of effectiveness. IMHO Reduced Glutathione for liposomal encapsulation is used best as a cofactor for either of the two coenzymes CoQ10 and ALA (which are both poorly absorbed orally). One part GTH to 1/2 part CoQ10 or ALA. The Lipo C would be good maybe 2x weekly while you could take the CoQ10 or ALA daily. You could rotate the CoQ10 and ALA on a daily or weekly basis.

Given these recommendations, it could only be surmised that your energy levels will greatly increase, as well as generally improving the overall health of both body & mind (especially in the aging or declining process).

Marcy: as for dosage, that is subjective according to body size and needs so you will just have to begin this dosage as a starting point... Until a detection of body odor and then cut back a little. The OJ seems entirely appropriate for mixer. One important note is to maintain a slightly alkaline body ph as the degree of oxygenation GREATLY increases away from acidic toward alkaline. And to further oxygenate take MSM as it recharges the DMSO and is a natural oxygen carrier in itself.

Internal use of DMSO, to Tre from Memphis, Tn, Hi Tre, I have never used DMSO internally, seeing how you have read a lot on the many things you can use this for, just a safety reminder, make sure everything the DMSO touches is very clean, and also if you plan on using capsules or tablet form of vitamins, do a trial run in water first, to make sure it dissolves in 20 minutes or it might not work, but then again DMSO is classified as a solvent, so it might, but just to make sure you might want to put it in a glass to check the disolveability before you put it into the eyedroper. Good luck and please keep us posted on exactly what you did and how well it works.

Google "Dr. Jacobs DMSO" and his product line comes up. It is Dr. Jacobs who put DMSO on the map 20 years or so ago with his interviews with 60 Minutes. You can also Google that..."Dr. Jacobs 60 Minutes DMSO" and see the series.

And Health food stores carry it.

He Healandglory...A good place to buy quality DMSO is Dr Stanley Jacob's website -- shown here. Dr Jacob is the guru who originally discovered and who has researched all the beneficial properties of DMSO since the 1960s.

You can also buy DMSO from amazon.com or ebay.com. See this link.

I've tried DMSO for two months on my warts and absolutely nothing happened. I did't put a soaked cotton on the wart for hours, but only applied DMSO without leaving it.

How did you use the eucalyptus oil? For the actual blisters or pain from shingles? Oral or on the skin? I had shingles after Covid and only some blisters in the lower back, but the pain on my leg (neurological?) has persisted, sometimes gets better and sometimes is very intense. I will be grateful for any response. Thanks

DMSO Smell Issues

Thank you, I've been searching for a way to get around that. Do you also take it internally with honey?

DMSO Application Tips
Posted by Tim (FLorida) on 11/12/2024

I was taking DMSO - a teaspoonful every day for about a month. Then one Monday my office mate asked me why I smelled and described it as a boiled egg or sulfur smell. I stopped taking it and he said the smell went away. It is a pretty common side effect or at least the books and web info say it is.

Internal Use
Posted by Gary (GA) on 06/06/2021

Hi Cindy.

Have you ever tried to diffuse the DMSO with any essential oils?

Internal Use
Posted by Gc (Atlanta, Ga) on 06/14/2021

Yes.

I am diffusing DMSO 70/30 .5 ml in 100 ml of distilled water.

I have searched for this method but have only found nebulizer info and it is scant at that.

If the DMSO is anti inflammatory then the addition of Clove Bud essential oil seems a fitting combination right now and then perhaps Ginger EO eventually.

I will ease into it for now and see where it leads me.

Hey, ORH - the problem with that is that when somebody tells me to do something or to not do something...I think you can guess the rest, ROFL!

That said...I suspect DMSO, applied topically, doesn't go straight to the blood stream but, rather, the LYMPHATIC "stream". Which is why I think some can taste it when they apply it topically and some can't or application to one spot creates the taste but another spot doesn't. At any rate...I don't know enough about the lymphatic system to say, either way.

I don't use it as a "carrier" because it can't carry anything through the skin that can't get through on its own so...why waste it when a couple of drops of tincture under the tongue - which I suspect is a direct route to the lymphatic system - would work just as well. Or even tea, due to the salivary glands' connection to it. All you'd have to do is swish it around your mouth before you swallowed it. Even if it tastes bad, if your body wants what's in it, it'll take it. If it doesn't, it'll gag, spit it out, throw it up or otherwise reject it because a lot of elements of remedies the body only occasionally needs are merely toxins, when it has no use for them. Like muscle testing - which would be a whole lot less...uncomfortable, LOL.

Which is also why compounding - I.e. mixing a bunch of stuff together - is...well...not a good idea. The remedy might be in there but the first order of business for the body is going to be wrangling the toxins - I.e. the stuff it doesn't need - and a lot of the good "babies" are probably going to be thrown out with the bathwater.

I don't think lymph acts like blood. I suspect what gets in it is passed along, "hand to hand". The nature of what it is would depend on where it's passed along TO but it appears to move "stuff" faster than blood but I'm still exploring so...I'll probably never get to the bottom of it - no pun intended, LOL!

Some stories are just as suspenseful as a TV show.

I tore my toenail off and put DMSO on the nail bed which immediately staunched the flow of blood and cut the pain. I thought it might hurt later so I soaked a gauze pad and taped it to my toe. After 2 hours it began to sting - the skin blistered where it was not able to evaporate - I would not advise covering it any where ...

I would not use DMSO in the mouth if you have any metal or plastic dental fillings or devices. They can be degraded and the toxins re-absorbed quite easily.

Hello Nanowriter from Hotspot Texas,

Thanks for your reply concerning whether or not I funked my stomach up with the lemon juice/ DMSO combination. And sorry aboat not responding sooner.

Yes you maybe right aboat the dose of transdermal magnesium. I have not been using it for very long. Several times I have given my body a very lite all over with it mixed with DMSO and had no adverse reactions. But yes it could very well be as you've said.

I recently just did a three day dry fast. No food no water. I feel like my entire being just went through the fire so to speak. So I will see, now that I am drinking water and juice for the next few days how my guts respond.

Yes as you said it isn't anything to serious. All is good.

Alright then, I wish you a wonderful day and many days to come....justin

I don't think it is 'fully dead'. It may not be ultra fresh, but I've used Lily of the Desert brand aloe gel, keeping it refrigerated, and it stays efficacious for years.

I also have used aloe juice (refrigerated) in my smoothies and it works wonderfully to keep me 'moving'. :)

Cheers!

I need help. I ordered 99.9% DMSO on Amazon, but what I received was 99% industrial grade. I used it anyway on my tendonitis and other areas of the body. The thing I that I got wicked drunk that night and very very sick! I am wondering if it is possible that the other 1% is alcohol or Acetone in the DMSO and if that is what contributed to me getting that "drunk" feeling...? If so, seems like it is dangerous as could I have gotten alcohol poisoning? Somebody please email me if you know the answer. kathyjo (at) velocity [dot} net.

HI U TIMH, , , , , , , , , MSM is made from DMSO and H202.

I am surprised that you have a pet. Hulda Clark said that if you have a house pet then you will have the same parasites. I believed her and after 46 years my wife no longer has a house cat. For the last 8 years she has had two outside cats and they love far more that the others. They are fed a specific amount at a specific time. Neither wears a watch, but they know exactly when feeding time is.

As you know Hulda Clark contended that parasites were the cause of all diseases.

I have ordered the reduced Glutathione to make a batch of lyposol. I can find no recipe so I will just use one tbsp per batch. How does that sound to you?

To Mystic Sage, you had asked a question about your DMSO gel that was 99.9 percent pure. The gel formulation of DMSO contains an agent in it called carpobol and I quote and just substitute the DMSO for the first word. [0162] (Ophthalmic) [editor note here: DMSO] gels suitable for treatment of the eye include a compound or compounds of the invention suspended in a hydrophilic base, such as Carpobol-940 or a combination of ethanol, water and propylene glycol (e.g., in a ratio of 40:40:20). A gelling agent, such as hydroxylethylcellulose, hydroxypropylcellulose, hydroxypropylmethylcellulose or ammoniated glycyrrhizinate, is used. A preservative and/or a tonicity agent may optionally be included. --[Source: http://www.faqs.org/patents/app/20110171306] And this site of the company that makes it and appears owns it: http://www.lubrizol.com/Carbopol/default.html What about just plain DMSO, Capeech? .

Marcy Rose, I have of late found this combination very effective for detox/oxygenation. I use one dropper DMSO and one dropper 35% H2O2 in a footbath for about 10 min. As for oral, this seems a little much especially the H202, but with the 3% may be a good start.

How to Store DMSO

Although I have got about 6 bottles of DSMO in a cupboard, I haven't as yet used it either externally or internally for one reason alone. That is the bottles are made of plastic and as DSMO can absorb the molecules of most substances that it comes in contact with I am afraid of what's in the plastic. So do you think that my fears are justified?

How to Store DMSO
Posted by Robin (MD) on 07/13/2022

I have experienced anxiety about that also. I transferred mine from the dense plastic in which it was shipped---over to cleaned, dark, glass wine bottles. At least I feel safer about the product now.
