I had this terrible itching in the crotch area for four weeks that was driving me mad! I finally decided it was something that needed attention so I did some research and decided it must be jock itch. I thought only men got this, but here I was with the malady. I began to try various remedies. Here is a list of what I tried that did not work for me: ACV with honey (4 cups per day), rubbing alcohol, hydrogen peroxide (rubbed on one day and held on for 30 minutes the next day), coconut oil internally and externally, tea tree oil, a rescue remedy tincture, athletes foot powder, a topical Lysine cream, diluted vinegar/water (3:1) with some grapeseed extract as a wash, A&D ointment and a one-ounce tube of hydrocortisone 1% cream. Nothing even touched it (although the hydrocortisone cream helped with the itching). So I went to the health food store and, being too embarrassed to tell them I had jock itch, instead told them I had altheltes foot (both are fungal). The lady suggested OIL of OREGANO. I had some on hand, so, after putting on a generous application of A&D ointment to areas I did not want touched by the oil (very important! don't skip this step! I am assuming any sort of oil or vaseline would work for this step) I used a q-tip and I put a small dab on each nickel-sized sores. It stung! A bring tears to your eyes sting! Like what-did-I-ever-do-to-deserve-this sting! It began to lesson after about 10 minutes, but I finally couldn't take it anymore and rubbed the area with coconut oil! I am pleased to say I have down-graded the sores from what I would call "active", to what I would consider "going away."

CAUTION - when you use oil of oregano less is best! Only apply once or twice a day. Only apply directly to the area. One time I had used too much on a little spot on my arm, letting it run all over and I applied it four to six times a day for probably seven days. It caused a burn of sorts that didn't go away for weeks!

I love your website! We have cured my husband of strep-throat four times in the last few- years with all your strep-throat remedies.

organic oregano oil ( capsules size 00 ) 4 drops in capsule every 2 hours the first day and every 4 hours and then every 6 and then every 8 for a period of 10 days cures sinus infections. I have a friend that uses essential oils. I didn't have insurance at the time so i called her at my wits end. I normally am prescribed Zithromax and Prednisode ( a steroid) that's how severe my sinus infections normally are. You take it for 10 days and it fights off the infection. Also peppermint oil rubbed around your sinus area ( use a 1 to 1 ratio with cold pressed extra virgin olive oil) it gets your nose running right away. You do have to take it for 10 days or it can come back. Using this in combination to the other remedies on here will take care of the bacterial and viral sinus infections. (i get both!) Hope it helps. I've been doing this for the last 2 times i got a sinus infection.

Do you take it daily? And how many a day? Or do you only use it if you are sick?

I am interested in taking Oregano oil - so many recommend it but how to you get 4 drops down? I have been taking 1 drop occasionally in a little whisky and it always stops a cold in its tracks - so do you have a good way of taking a 4 drop dose? Also how often would you do that, please?

I travel with OofO everywhere. However, while in Mexico, there has been a horrible (violent) stomach bug that has been going on from PV to the far north. OofO in the AM and probiotics at night didn't touch it. I've had it twice (and off and on) and my husband now has. Finally relented to start up on Bactrim. Any other natural recommendations to get off the dreaded antibiotic?

Oregano Oil Side Effects
Posted by Diane (MN) on 07/19/2022

Have you tried opening a capsule and putting half in an empty capsule so you're taking just half? I am thinking of trying that, just bought some but am afraid of possible having side effects like you because I have IBS and diverticulitis.

What is oregano juice? I have never heard of it. I bought some oil of oregano capsules as recommended by my acupuncturist for chronic sinus but have heard it's really strong and I have a sensitive GI system with IBS, diverticulitis etc. so was looking here to see if anyone with my GI issues ever took it. Just looking for tips.

Some ideas:

Take them with food or a spoonful of virgin coconut oil to dilute the oregano oil so it is gentler on your body. You may mix the oregano oil into a spoonful of coconut oil and taste it. If it seems to burn your mouth keep adding more coconut oil and tasting until it is comfortable.

Olive oil or sesame oil may replace the coconut oil if you like. Or you may apply the oil to your skin.

Mold Sickness

Please remove your daughter from this moldy place. She will feel much much better.

I have lymes and used to be in a mold infested place. I was always feeling better when taking Cholestyramine, but my life was miserable. I lost motivation, function, concentration, it reeked havoc on my body and made me feel more sick.

There was water dripping from the paint, and managers didn't care to check. I kept smelling mold, getting dizzy and nauseous. Opened up bedroom cabinets under the sink and there was black mold coming through the paint like someone sprayed a light layer of black paint on the walls. Managers finally came and tore out that wall and the whole wall inside was covered in black mold, and it turns out that was dripping through the paint in the other bathroom had no where to escape so dripped into bedroom sink walls.

Also, this place had wooden floors which probably had high amounts of chemicals in it.

You can also get sick and dizzy from furniture. One really nice desk I bought from IKEA had a formadahyde smell coming from it. I could never sit in the office without getting a headache.

check all those things.

I've had similar stuff going on with me for over 10 yrs. I have really bad food allergies, I had blood test done and I'm allergic to Eggs, Wheat, Gluten, Dairy, Almonds and white beans. My whole digestive system swells up! I had to have my gall bladder removed in 2003 but in 2012 I almost died because I had stones all in my Liver! I've been watching a show on TV by doctor and his wife - he constantly talks about intestinal dysbiosis and how Oil Of Oregano really helps with that! He said until you get your gut healthy you will never get better! I"m so tired of these food allergies and feeling bad! Beth how much Oregano have you been taking? I know I need to get a really good Probiotic too. Any suggestions for that. Thanks.

For each gel capsule, usually they put one drop of oregano oil in some other oil.

I haven't been completely cured yet, but Oregano Oil and Mineral Oil have greatly helped a case of scabies and I feel I am on my way to recovering. I actually had this case of scabies for several years, but it never got very bad as I had tried various over the counter remedies because I thought at first it was just dry skin or a skin irritation. When I finally realized what I had, I was upset because I did not want to take a neurotoxin. An herbalist recommended the oregano oil and almost instantly I began to see results. I've been taking it orally and also applying it topically. I have also been using mineral oil on my hands as well.
