My husband started 5 mix on Oct.10 when his cardiologist told him he has calcified heart valves.

He progressively grew WORSE (he developed serious shortness of breath, even when only sitting or lying and today he decided to go to hospital emergency room after he almost stopped breathing few times at night

Why? I don't think 5 mix caused it but it could be very long and severe Herxheimer reaction , (he is a chemist and has mercury fillings...).

I feel bad about pushing natural remedies at him... For me they always work but I have faith in them and his belief is very weak.

Hello guys! I had a heart attack 1.5 years ago and started using this ACV, Garlic, Ginger, Lemon tonic so a few tips from me:

1. REMEMBER! This is not a medicine (and is possibly just snake oil I.E., A fraud! ). Do NOT stop taking your prescribed medicines (such as aspirin etc).

Desparate people like ourselves search the internet to a solution for our cardio woes and all you find are quack remedies and stories for gullible people from charlatans, cranks and pyramidiots!

2. There are natural items that will reduce cardio problems (such as garlic and ginger) which make me continue with this solution but do not expect a miracle cure! Overnight, 2 week, 2 month blockage clearance? Hah! Better make a sacrifice to the faerie folk!

3. If you have blocked or semi blocked arteries you will probably have them for life now but you can reduce the blockage (very very slowly!) over time if you follow a very strict regime. This means major lifestyle changes. Your present situation is as a result of genetics and bad practices earlier in your life.

4. I have a stent and 50% blocked arteries - this solution has not affected me so I am guessing it is fairly safe to use (in the small recommended doses people describe I.E., 1 or 2 spoons max.)

5. It always turns blue-green for me the moment I start cooking / simmering and reducing the volume down. I think this is normal.

6. To prevent it stinking the fridge out after it is prepared (I don't even refrigerate it, it just sits on my counter ready to use) put it in an airtight container doh! I store it in one of those glass bottles with a ceramic cork on top and a rubber seal at the base of the cork.

The best advice I have seen so far to really reduce a coronary blockage (and medically proven) is the 'Spectrum' system of Dr Dean Ornish M.D. He has treated Bill Clinton and others with advanced arteriosclerosis but his system is a quite radical change.

The major points of the system are to stop smoking (if you do), exercise regularly (40 mins a day of brisk walking 3-5 times a week is sufficient to make you fit!), eat healthily (essentially cutting ALL fats and oils down to the barest minimums for us serious cases - that means cooking without oil, cutting out all dairy, nuts, oily things like avocado and chocolate, seeds etc, reducing caffeine and alcohol intake and finally to put a little more love in your life by adopting a pet or changing your attitude towards family and friends.

I also took up Transcendental meditation (TM) as that was recommeded to reduce my stress, anxiety and aggression. It works! If you believe in a god or gods, then prayer may also be useful in this respect.

You can buy Dr Dean Ornish books (he also has a website) and I recommend if you only buy one, you get "The Spectrum".

Another useful book I came across was "Reverse Heart Disease Now" by Sinatra and Roberts (again both bonafide M. D. S). This book offers similar advice to Ornish with a recommendation to to use mineral and vitamin supplements to alleviate cardio problems.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I hope you find this advice useful! I started my changes after my heart attack and I lost loads of weight! I dropped 3 trouser sizes and I'm gonna keep going unti; I am the size of my late teens / early twenties! It's easy to lose weight if someone tells you that you will die if you don't, lol!

It is too early to see if my blockages are reduced. I will keep you posted if I do get the tests done.

By the way, I have a friend (Indian) who has a blood sugar problem and he keeps it under control by taking great care of his diet also. He avoids or drastically minimises sweet foods like fruits and also white rice (which makes his blood sugar spike dramatically).

Cheers, Mike

In reply to Saudi Mike. It's really very simple. Heart disease is about one thing - cleaning your arteries. Heart disease issue has been filled with so much disinformation. Blood pressure, cholesterol levels, salt intake are irrelevant. Prescription medications are damaging. The natural way to clean your arteries is using FIBROLYTIC ENZYMES. China has done thousands of studies on them. They prevent heart attack and strokes. There are no side effects and the body will use what it needs and no more. No need for so many other alternative remedies either. Better to take a more direct approach. No doctor visits and little expense. Better to let the body heal itself.

For people who have been through the medical system with stents (one of the many unnecessary operations they foist on people) and other crap, it is much harder to advise them since I don't know the implications of all that other medical intervention crap. Medical doctors scare patients away from alternatives.

My wife and I tried the remedy including vinegar, lemon juice, garlic juice, and ginger juice, then adding honey for the above problem. My wife's esophagus burned for hours after taking. She tried juice, water, nothing helped. She won't take it again. I tried it and my urine burned. I won't take it again.

In reply of Parul: I have already given the procedure for preparation of this concoction in these posts which also include ACV. Regarding mixing of honey I have already stated that after this conction becomes ready add only one cup of honey. This honey is mixed only to lighten up the bitterness of ACV, Ginger and garlic. Can safely be given to diabetic patients as pure honey does not harm diabetic patients.

In reply of Sonali: My mother had got an heart attack in year 2001 thereafter she was on medicines and everything was normal. In January 2012 she again got another attack and after that I requested her to use this concoction and she is now perfect Alhamdolillah. You can give this concoction alongwith prescribed medicines and there is no harm but after one month of using this concoction, give break of a fortnight and again use for one more month and then get checked with your doctor. Insha Allah you will not need to give medications furthermore.

Boiling I would suggest, is definiatly a bad thing to do.. It destroys the organic structure of the vitamin c. and probably reduces the medicine to a placebo effect.

With Apple Cider Vinegar, cinnamon, olive leaf, and a tea from the bush plant from costa rica. I did use the concotion of the Apple Cider Vinegar ginger, garlic, and lemon. My blood pressure was perfect, she said. I also changed my eating drastically - got rid of all white foods out my diet. So this natural stuff does work. I was brought up on it so I am solded. Papajirao, in India, and everywhere, people use arjuna bark for heart problems, high blood pressure, overweight and so on. Please do an internet search. I just learned about this herb yesterday, and I am researching for my own heart problems. It looks amazing, and the arjuna supplements are made in India from the bark of a tree that grows there. When I searched Google with "arjuna powder or extracts?" I saw that indiamart sells it.

My Father had a minor attack 22 days ago & angiography has been done 2-3 days ago & according to report main artery of heart I. E LAD has been blocked 99% and one more artery is blocked 80% of left side heart.

Doctor has suggested angioplasty & 2 stent has to put, for which my father is not ready & also he is a diabetic patient. So pls advise if this natural mixture is helpful in opening these blockages. Also pls advise if we can add 1 cup honey in this mixture. Pls pls reply soon as this is very urgent, thanks

As for the enzymes, a minimum dose could be taken daily for the entire lifespan, but for disease states one would need to take "therapeutic doses" until recovery.

Yes, do the herbal circulatory cleanses as suggested. For a strong heart, take Magnesium Carnitine, and CoQ10.

I am using this ACV, Garlic, Ginger, Lemon remedy from past 6 months. Initially I tried to make it at home. it became greenish. After researching I found that it has reacted with metal vessels and I can get metal toxity if I consume. It could damage my kidney or liver. Then I found I can get this formula ready made available by Dr. Patkar's. This is very helpful and I am feeling very good now. No breathlessness. No chest pain. doctor told me to hold my by-pass as my health is improving.

Hi Pradeep,

Honey is mixed only to make it palatable otherwise it may be rather difficult for one to take. What I would suggest you is that make it without the honey and then if it tastes offensive then you can add minimum honey as per your requirement and then take it. That much honey is not going to act adversely.

Good Luck, Baldev

I'd suggest keeping it up for a year, but if you want to stop the breathlesness start taking cayenne. It works straight away by dilating small blood vessels and increasing the oxygen. It will increase the effect of the other treatment as well.

I have a pot of this concoction on the stove "as we speak". I am here looking for a proper way of preparing it as one recipe calls for all four cups of the liquids to be boiled down to one, only one cup, and then adding the honey. I think I will go for the recipe indicated here. I am using a juice extractor for all the juices as opposed to buying them on-line. The house smells wonderful. I was told that I have a small calcium blockage in one of my arteries, so I will use this until Jesus comes, and we shall see what the results of my next test will be six months down the line. I think that the honey will counterbalance the acidity nicely, but I'm no doctor, so don't take my word for it--just seems to make sense to me. Cheers and stay healthy.

Hi Jagatheesan,

Honey is mixed to make it palatable, otherwise it will be quite strong and you may not like it. So, if you are diabetic use less of honey as per your taste. You have to take one cup of each, lemon juice, ginger juice, garlic juice, and apple cider vinegar and boil it on low heat till it remains to three cups and then let it cool. Once it is cool then you can mix one cup or even less if you feel like of honey in to it. Keep this mixture in the fridge and take a tea spoon of it two to three times a day. It will help you, this works like a heart tonic.

Good Luck

I would like to try this remedy. However, I don't have a juice extractor. I have a blender. Can I blend garlic and ginger really fine and just use the wet pulp to cook with lemon juice and ACV, instead of squeezing juice out from the wet pulp of garlic and ginger.

I wonder whether anyone else has tried the above and whether it worked or not. Your advice is highly appreciated.

Thx!

Hi Priti, In your combination there is no ingredient other than honey which should give you weight gain and you are taking only two spoons a day, in which honey portion is too little. What I guess is that you are improving your over all health and therefore your cal. intake has increased which is showing on you, so start some exercise and carry on taking your combination and avoid any junk food. Drinking water after taking the combination is ok.

In reply to Ab from Butter worth, this mixture can be kept in refrigerator but while taking it, it should be on normal room temperature so let it come to normal temperature before taking it. I would not recommend for giving this mixture to stent patient.

You bring up a good and valid question regarding cooked herbal remedies versus raw herbal remedies:

I have tended to think that raw was generally preferred because of the enzymes. But a comment I recently read by herbalist Susun Weed helped me to consider another way. She points out that when we make herbal teas/ infusions, etc, we are letting time and heat draw out the medicinal properties. If we take the herbs just raw, our bodies have to do that work.

Herbs are quite complex. I think there are times for using them raw and times for using them cooked. Some herbs work well taken in capsules, but others need time and water (like Red Raspberry leaf) to draw out the properties needed. Some herbs work very well when tinctured in alcohol. Others work well when tinctured in vinegar. (The alcohol is usually preferred, though.)

I do not know for sure the best way to prepare or take the concoction mentioned in this thread. I just thought I would add these thoughts because raw is not necessarily always the best way for herbal remedies to be taken.

B: As for the enzymes, it is important to take them without any acidosis issues in the gut or body and on an empty stomach preferably 30-60 min prior to meal. A 6 month course should clear out any scar tissue in the arteries.

As for the herbs, Hawthorn berries and Cayenne should be added to your list as they are very important for heart, lungs, and arteries.

You may also consider a vascular cleanse with the herbs White Oak bark, Horse Chestnut, Butcher's Broom.

I combined ACV, honey, lemon juice, and ginger in a glass of hot rain water and drank it in the morning before I consumed anything else. By the end of Day 1 I began to experience heart irregularities. Thinking it was anxiety I again took a glass of the mixture on Day 2. All day long my heart beat irregularly every 3,5, or 8 beats. Incredibly annoying. I stopped drinking the mixture and on Day 3, except for a few skipped beats, everything was back to normal. Day 4, haven't taken the mixture (of course) and waiting to see if I can go through the day without even one "hiccup"...

My diastolic blood pressure has been high after I got out of the hospital from an infection. I used ACV, garlic, lemon, vitamin e and I started exercising. However, I noticed my diet has something to do with it too. If I eat a lot of fat, over 30 grams and processed sugary stuff it will get worse. So last weeks diastolic was as high as 101 and today it was 116/89!!!! I still have tachycardia of 108 but I'm taking cayenne pepper for it.

I have read reported that the mineral Copper is very important for the integrity of arterial structure or tissue; so cooking with Copperware may be advised. Take 25 mg Zinc occasionally to balance the Cu.

5-Ingredient Heart Tonic

Copperware has copper but it is "inorganic" so the body won't be able to use it and you will end up being copper toxic. You need to eat organic copper (in plants). Getting minerals from plants also gives you the correct ratios of other minerals as well.

I'd be a bit carefull as ginger and garlic are potent blood thinners, and you are already on aspirin. You loose blood from the gut everytime you take an aspirin. Statins are contraindicated with grapefruit. Lemon juice and apple cider vinegar should clean out the arteries, might be best to stick with them. Or knock off the asprin and do the garlic and ginger?

5-Ingredient Heart Tonic
Posted by Gavin (Manganui, Northland, New Zealand) on 03/24/2013

Yes... Take it slow and build up the Apple Cider Vinegar and lemon juice over a couple of weeks, you don't want to strip to much calcium off the artery walls to fast, remember it has been deposited to protect the artery wall, probably because of something in the diet.... Free running table salt seems to be a main culprit, change to sea salt.... and probably too much calcium from various sources. The Apple Cider Vinegar and lemon juice dissolve the calcium in just the way it cleans a furred up kettle, so make sure you keep your fluids up, to flush the offending residue out. If you suffer from breathlesness and cyanosis (blueing of the extremities) have a serious look at cayenne but remember this is also a blood thinner.

Hi Parul, I can understand your concern about your father's health. What is your father's age and the life style. Generally it is seen that active people during the course of aging develop coletrals which come into play when ever there is an extra demand on the heart and they can easily servive for a long time by changing their eating habits, life style etc. In today's world every thing is contaminated and we go through lot of stress knowingly and some times un knowingly, but at younger age we can tolerate it but time comes when it shows up in the symptoms what your father is going through.

This call your father has to take whether he should go through the engioplasty or not doctors will always want him to go through without wasting any time. Amir Khan's satya mev jayte episode no. 4 you must have seen.

Regarding ACV, Garlic, Ginger and Lemon all will work, there is lot of information available for one to live healthy. Your father has to decide as to what does he want from life, and encourage him to decide for himself and support him in his decision. Good Luck, Baldev

Research cayenne pepper for heart health, and also used w/garlic as a recommendation for it being a "rotor-router" for ridding the plaque/cholesterol build-up in your arteries. Can't hurt to try, as these are foods. I have taken it (one tsp, or less, mixed in V-8 juice with a garlic pill once a day). No more colds, and also took care of my lower back pain. Good luck.

ACV, Garlic, Ginger, Lemon for Heart Disease

I have tried this recipe earlier last year after my blood pressure was on the borderline. My sister in law passed the recipe to me and made it myself. A good friend of mine brought me along with her for free heart check somewhere in Los angeles. To check if there are plaques in your arteries. I have been taking that mixture for 3 months before I did the heart check and I wasn't sure if it was effective. I am a meat lover person and ate some veggies and fruits and did a little exercise, and I was with another person who had been a vegetarian for more than ten years.. We both have the procedure done and Lo and behold.. Our score was ZERO, meaning that no plaques whatsoever in our arteries and we both are of the same age range.. Mid forties.. So I guess it really works!

ACV, Garlic, Ginger, Lemon

The four ingredients should be boiled until 1 cup volume is left (instead of 3 cups). Also, the dosage is 3 table spoons in the morning before eating/drinking anything. I have actually made this concoction and use it although I DO NOT have heart disease - I do have low blood pressure. It seems to revitalize me. Am very interested to get feedback from someone who actually has artery clogging. Looking forward to feedback...

ACV, Garlic, Ginger, Lemon

I had severe heart attack in January 2011 with over cholesterol level. Had undergone stent implantation. Using this natural remedy to maintain my cholesterol level with superb results. One common mistake in making this natural remedy is the method of taking the juice out of garlic and ginger by putting the two ingredients in blender adding water: just put these two ingredients in machine use for obtaining fresh juice from apple, carrot etc. DON'T mix water to it. People with high cholesterol (not necessarily heart patients only) must use it before it is too late. My attack could have be avoided but there are many IFs and BUTs so do not delay.

If your blood is getting too thin (coagulation time increases), there is a high risk of internal bleeding (including stroke). I would not mix medication and natural remedies. You have to avoid contusions or any physical accidents.

High dose (10g is what I am doing) forms of Vit C as Ascorbic Acid is amazingly, shall we say, beneficial, with diabetes type II, according to several doctors and researchers.

Sufficient Boron /Borax is eqally amazing at, shall we say, resolving, all forms of arthritis.

Small wonder both have been given the deep six treatment. Cheap, and effective as all get out. --T.

Lets see if I have this right:

(1) cup of raw organic ACV
(1) cup of lemon juice (freshly squeezed)
(1) cup of ginger juice (freshly juiced)
(1) cup of garlic juice (freshly juiced)

Simmer all ingredients down to about 1 cup? Let cool and add 1 cup of honey to mixture? or 3 cups?

What dose should I take? Someone wrote to take 1 tablespoon in the morning and 1 at night. Another said take it 3 times per day? How long should I take it? 1 month? 3 months? 1 year? Also, do I have to refrigerate the mixture and how long will it keep before I have to make a fresh batch? Sorry for all the questions, I like to be very thorough before I begin anything.
