Dear Ted,

A friend of mine has a big hard ball located on his upper arm, about two inches above his elbow joint, that looks like someone stuck a golf ball on his arm. His doctor said it is just a big calcium deposit and wants to surgically remove it.

We've been trying vinegar soaked cotton, then wrapped it all up, careful not to get it on the rest of his arm and in only four days the big hard ball has become all swishy and rubbery like the chicken in vinegar trick.

But my question is: should we be continuing? Will it shrink/dissolve the big ball? Are we doing any harm to the rest of his arm bone? Your input would be appreciated. Thanks.
