Chromium Picolinate has improved my digestion by 90%. I take 200 mcg 15-30 minutes before every meal. The results have been miraculous. And I was one of those people who tried all the typical cures, probiotics, fiber, etc with no success and I was getting frustrated. But the chromium picolinate has saved my digestion. My bowel movements are like the ones I had in high school!

I also found it helps for frequent urination but I made a different post for that. I hope this helps somebody!

I second that! I recently started taking Chromium Picolinate to help with blood sugar regulation. Right away I noticed my digestion and subsequent bowel movements improved significantly. Wish I would have known this a long time ago.

After I saw the recommendations on this site, I started mixing coconut oil into smoothies, adding to butter on toast etc and within hours of the first time I used it my stomach stopped hurting and making that percolating sound for the first time in over a year. I take a little bit now whenever my stomach seems out of sorts (I can even eat a bit of chocolate which is an IBS trigger for me if I have some coconut oil afterwards) and the chronic discomfort is gone.

Coconut oil has significantly reduced my IBS symptoms. As long as I take four pills each day I don't have symptoms. I also have long nails for the first time in my life and my hair is thicker too. I suspect coconut oil helps IBS sufferers that have had their gall bladder removed.... just a personal hunch.

I have had IBS-D for more than 20 yrs. Now that I've been Gluten Free for about a year, I have alternating bowel functions. Do you think that coconut oil will help with the dual functionality? I am so willing to try anything.

Hello Wildstormy1, IBS [Irritable Bowel Syndrome] is caused by variety of issues, even hiatus hernia can manifest IBS or low stomach acid can also show symptoms of IBS or hypothyroid can also show the same symptoms. Main reason, infection in GI.

First start with Ted's alkalizing formula 3 times a day.
To heal the intestine, drink wheat grass juice 30ml a day. Colonize your intestines with probiotics by taking Milk Kefir, Miso, Saurkraut.

Once the intestines starts to heal your digestion will improve. This will take long time.

I urge you to read Hemorrhoids section in EC, it is has more information regarding UC and IBS.

There are variety natural treatments to treat IBS, above said are the simple ones. Ted's alkalizing formula is a must, Without alkalizing your body the healing process will not begin.

If the coconut oil has a foul smell try a different brand. The cheap generic coconut oil has a strong odor. The expensive oil smells fresh and sweet. Coconut "butter" is delicious and amazing, too. It is basically pureed coconut, flesh and oil. I noticed the expensive brand of coconut "cream" I used to use had the odor of the cheap oil, so I swiched brands. Problem solved. I tried baking with the cheap oil and the final product had an even stronger odor, I had to throw it in the trash.

Cold showers helped me to become stronger. When I was little, stomack problems often troubled me. Diarea, for example. Whenewer it was cold you could se me running home or to the nearest bathroom. Sometimes I would not eat anything for houres, so I would not have the need to go. Also, I had a few embarassing moments because of my problem, but nothing to seiouse. Then, one day I came across the idea of a cold shower, because I saw the Russians runing in to the frozen lake after being in a sauna for 15 minutes, as a tradition. There were children, little boys and girls among them. I remember thinking:"Those must be some strong people.". Then it also came to me that we, in Serbia, have a simillar tradition, but without the sauna and as a part of oure religiouse heredity. Those are definitly strong people, because most of them are members of serbians ellite police force. That made me step up. I wanted to become stronger... And i did. I have been taking relatively cold showers for a year and a half now. I have stomack problems very rarrely now and they are more under my controle. I rarely get a cold now, although i hade a few ones only because I took a cold shower and went in to a, not so warm, room. So be carefull. Don't make the same mistake. That would be stupid,as was I. Also, my whole body functions much smoother... I can't explane it, but it feels good. Then I made another step. I joined the Serbian tradition and jumped in to the lake in the middle of winter, alongside the members of the police force and some more people like me. It was freezing. Despite the air themperature, wich was 12 degreas (Celsius), the water was 3-4 degreas (Celsius, don't know how much is that in Farenheits). It felt like my mind separated it self from my body and alowed it to run on authomatic for a few seconds. When I came out off the wather I expected to get a flew or something, but I was just fine, and had a simbolic lunch with the other guys who jumped. Anyway, cold showers helped me plenty. With my body and mentally. The coldnes takes youre thoughts from the things that are on youre mind and leave you in a peacefull state. Try it... If you like it, continue, and begin with babysteps. Sorry for the gramar mistakes and for writing this much. Greatings...

Those of you suffering from IBS may want to consider taking Cumin.

I recently started it and initially seeing great improvement after 35+ years of IBS. I just boil 1 tsp of Cumin seeds in water for 5 minutes then strain and drink. I have tried many different things for my IBS and this has helped more than others. There is also a study showing its benefits for IBS.

I am not a medical practioner, however this is what worked for my IBS.

First, go to the health food store and buy FOOD GRADE DE, diatemaceous earth. Mix 2 tablespoons with 1/2 cup water. Drink it down - tastes chalky, but this will rid your colon of any parasites. Do the research for FOOD GRADE DE, it helps cleanse your entire system.

Next, buy a good PROBIOTIC and DIGESTIVE ENZYME. Take as suggested.

***ALOE VERA JUICE - 2 or 3 Tablespoons, I mix with 1/2 cup water and again drink it down, two or three times a day. Aloe Vera juice is VERY healing.

To your health!

I've suffered with IBS D for about 20 years. The consequence of this means going out and long journeys are a nightmare. You have to take a note of toilets en route so you don't get caught out and I have in the past. Spare underwear you have to take.

Anyway, onto the good news. I never say I am cured as this can come catch you out, but 100% better than I was.

All due to the Fodmap diet. Won't bore you all with specifics you can google them. Basically cutting out certain foods which have been tested to disagree with certain people and reintroduce sometime later with caution to see if that particular food should be avoided.

What this has done for me is amazing. Not only has it stopped the diarrhoea episodes, an ongoing problem with chronic coughing has cleared up and I notice my nails have grown longer and stronger.

Of course chronic diarrhea is depleting your body of essential nutrients and leaving it weaker.

This has been a life changer for me so wanted to pass it on to other sufferers.

I was diagnosed with IBS back in the late 90's. As the years passed I found more and more discomfort with belly bloating and pain and on occasion constipation. About one month ago I started to experience the symptoms of IBSD and I am here to tell you, I was practically living in my bathroom for three days. I then changed over my diet to no dairy, less fiber because I noticed when I ate things like spinach, broccoli, cabbage, etc. I would be running to the bathroom shortly after.

I began to drink coconut water, having coconut/almond milk in my coffee, supposedly non dairy, cut out ice cream and even had to cut out frozen yogurt and tried the lactaid products and still I am having issues. It is not as bad as it was last week, but it seems no matter what I eat, I am running a short while after or by the wee morning hours up and about with pain, discomfort, nausea. I have no clue what I should do anymore. I have plain Italian toast with jam, plain scrambled eggs, coconut water, etc. etc. and still, I wake up during the night in pain. I had tried the essence of peppermint like I used to take and still no relief.

I don't know what to do anymore..I am so tired and trying to make sure I stay hydrated at the same time. It has been one week today when this all got worse. Please help me!

In reply to Elizabeth (Ny),

You might give some consideration to discussing melatonin, probiotics and vitamin d with your doctor to see if they can help calm things down and help you get to sleep also. Lack of sleep is stressful on the whole body and has the potential to exacerbate IBS. Melatonin has shown the ability to help IBS and it has a very good safety profile and is naturally produced in the body suggesting a lower chance for allergic reactions to it. Melatonin was originally thought to only be produced in the pineal gland in dark hours of the day in very small amounts, but more recent studies confirm that melatonin is produced in the gut in much larger amounts and a disturbance in gut melatonin production may be a problem. Melatonin research, like vitamin d research, has shown that melatonin receptors are found throughout the body. Melatonin is readilly available, cheap, easy to take and has the potential to help IBS based on studies as well as improve sleeping patterns. Here is a study that mentions as much:

http://www.wjgnet.com/1007-9327/full/v20/i10/2492.htm

Melatonin is a highly potent antioxidant and helps increase the bodies own very potent antioxidant system to heavilly quench multiple types of radicals throughout the body. Melatonin has many health benefits and is protective of the organs also. Certain probiotics have also been shown to increase gut melatonin levels and this may be one potential way that probiotics work their magic on some people, so potent probiotics may be helpful also. Melatonin seems to be effective at relatively low dosing and there are timed release versions available also. The studies for melatonin are pretty impressive and plentiful.

There are not a lot of studies, but the following abstract below, from PubMed, suggests that vitamin D may be helpful also so those are three easy ones you can discuss with your doctor. After the abstract is a link to a full study that discusses vitamin D and IBS. The very bottom link is to an abstract that discusses a specific probiotic and IBS.

Effect of vitamin D on gastrointestinal symptoms and health-related quality of life in irritable bowel syndrome patients: a randomized double-blind clinical trial.

Author information

Abstract

BACKGROUND:

Low-grade mucosal inflammation and immune activation are involved in the pathogenesis of irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). Furthermore, IBS symptoms are associated with a significantly higher prevalence of psychological distress, which in itself results into an impaired quality of life (QoL). Vitamin D could ameliorate the symptoms of patients suffering from IBS through its beneficial effects on psychological factors and inflammation.

METHODS:

A total of 90 IBS patients participated in this double-blind, randomized, placebo-controlled study. Participants were randomly selected to receive either 50 000 IU vitamin D3 or a placebo fortnightly for a period of 6 months. Patients reported their IBS symptoms at the baseline and monthly during intervention periods. The IBS severity score system (IBSSS) and IBS-specific QoL questionnaires were used at the baseline and postintervention.

KEY RESULTS:

Over the 6-month intervention period, a significantly greater improvement in IBS symptoms such as abdominal pain and distention, flatulence, rumbling, and overall gastrointestinal (GI) symptoms (except dissatisfaction with bowel habits) was observed in the patients receiving vitamin D as compared to the placebo group. The IBSSS and the IBS-QoL scores in the vitamin D group significantly improved compared to the placebo group postintervention (mean IBSSS score change: -53.82 ± 23.3 vs -16.85 ± 25.01, p < 0.001, respectively; mean IBS-QoL score change: 14.26 ± 3 vs 11 ± 2.34, p < 0.001, respectively).

CONCLUSIONS & INFERENCES:

Vitamin D seems to be an effective and safe option to improve QoL and symptoms of IBS. ClinicalTrials.gov

I forgot to mention, colloidal silver is also worth discussing with your doctor for IBS d as it is a broad spectrum antibiotic, antiviral and antifungal. The body typically will use diarrhea as one method to rapidly rid the body of virulent toxins.

The probiotics then can be used to repopulate the gut with good bacteria.

Hello Elizabeth,

If you google search "irritable bowel syndrome caused by bacteria" you will find articles that say iBS is caused by various kinds of bacteria. Apparently not so much virus caused, although I've found that so often viruses are lurking along with bacteria infections.

Some IBS articles say the cause is unknown and in the same article might mention the possible cause as a bacteria; especially the IBS that comes immediately after an infection....called "post infection"...PI iBS.

Various methods can be used to kill infections if the possible bacteria is unknown. Echinacea is one. I get mine from Vitamin Shoppe and use their brand, which is a dark and somewhat thick liquid. The watered down versions seem not to work as well. I take five drops three times a day for two weeks; longer even up to a month. I use Echinacea also on surface infections ... even spider bites. Also I use colloidal silver to kill infections; I take two tablespoons twice a day on an empty stomach. And don't forget the old stand by for lower track problems....apple cider vinegar.... a tablespoon in a glass of water twice a day.

Diet changes might help the symptoms but the underlying problem might remain... an infection.

Art, thank you so much for replying. I will speak with my doctor about the vitamin D and the Melatonin. I used to take Melatonin just to help me sleep, but did not realize it had so many other good factors as for the IBS. I believe I will start taking these myself because I feel if I can get this under control myself then I won't have to go to the doctors. As I said, I am up during the wee hours of the morning up until about 7/8 am when things settle down and I don't have any issues for the rest of the day or evening until after I got to bed and sleep for a couple of hours then awakened to an urgent need to go to the bathroom. It is so frustrating. There are things I want to do but I have limited my time out because I am so afraid of having an "accident" or an episode. This is nothing I have experienced before with the IBS and as much as I do get some bloating, the pain is very annoying and aggravating.

I have been drinking coconut water, one bottle or so a day, using coconut/almond milk in my coffee, eating very blandly such as plain scrambled eggs, plain toast with just jam or a waffle or two with peanut butter. It seems no matter what I have done though has helped. So frustrating.

Thank you again for your response. All is taken with great hope that I can get this under control.

Dave (of Fountain Inn)--I'm curious what you think of my ibs and how I should fix it. My mother had chemo that ended when they learned she was expecting me, so I know I was exposed. Her ibs-c began during her treatments. I have had daily diarrhea all my life, she always said it was her fault. the dr's say ibs-d but who know? They don't even consider the chemo may have had an impact on me. Do you have any suggestions for me? I've always been conscious about my lifestyle. I can't eat raw as it makes things worse, but mostly I eat plant (maybe 90%) and lean fish or chicken/eggs for the rest. I grow many of my own veggies and some fruits, canning/freezing for the off season and raise my own chickens for eggs and meat. I also have access to hilly grazing land--never farmed or fertilized other than by the cows, from which I gather wild plants, berries and some nuts. I don't eat cheese or milk because it bothers me and I don't eat processed foods such as tv dinners, chips, or other snacky things. Any suggestions for me?

Infusion: The Calamus root tea is only prepared as a cold-infusion. A level teaspoon of Calamus roots is soaked in 1/4 litre of cold water overnight, lightly warmed in the morning and strained. Before using, warm the tea in a waterbath.

Take 6 sips of Calamus root tea daily (one sip before a meal and one sip after it).

Eating green bananas (not ripe, hard to peel) will rebuild the intestinal lining. Carrot juice is also helping

Look also in the Pulse test book (by Arthur Coca) to learn how to determine if you have some allergies.

Dave, thank you for your input as well. I am going to the Health Food Store tomorrow. I don't have a car and can't get into town until tomorrow. I will get the collodial(?) silver and echinecea but what I really would like to get is the essence of peppermint. I know several years ago and even less than when I would just get the bloating and pain, that seemed to help a lot. Yet, I started taking the vitamin D today. Although the past week or more I have not had the bloating, today I have been bloated all day. Now I can't "go". Yet, I have a feeling by late tonight it will start all over again. In the meantime, I have been drinking coconut water (ick) to make sure I don't get dehydrated. I have been unable to eat anything other than some peanut butter on some bread and I know I should stay away from carbs but other than that I am nervous about putting anything in my tummy right now.

Thank you again for your input.

You need to take gluten out of your diet also sugar. No bread anything with flour, ibs is a leaky gut and possibly candida. I have been ill for eleven years or more, I was better after watching diet could eat a little fruit and vegetables but got careless ate a little sugar, and one sandwich and bam worse than ever. That is why I think it is with candida. Supplement that helped was l glutamine, I took 4 teaspoon on empty stomach in am. Going to buy again but don't think l glutamine is for long term. Also my twin brother has it, he lost 37 lbs in 1 month. My natural Dr. was no help at all. It also attracts your thyroid. Wishing you the best, I know how bad you feel.

It has been over a week now since I started taking the Echinacea tincture as well as Peppermint tincture. I take the Echinacea in the am and in the pm. I take the Peppermint three times a day, morning/afternoon/and before bedtime. I started with the Vitamin D3 as well as maybe twice a day or so having a piece of candied ginger. I bought some Fennel Tea so that I did not have to put fennel seeds in things that I cooked. After several days, the pain seemed to subside but I was still waking early in the am and running to the bathroom. I swear, I don't know what is wrong. I drink spring water and coconut water as well. And, this am was the first time I even had a few dropplings of anything slightly solid in my movement. Although I only had to get to the bathroom twice this am, the pain in my gut is horrid again. I am at my wits end and am wondering if I will ever be normal or somewhat normal again. And, I am mentioning this here simply because it is the only place I feel ever so slightly comfortable with talking about it, but when I go and it is like water, it now has a slight pea green color to it. I am bloated again and so uncomfortable. How long does it take to at least have something normal go through me after beginning to take these things? I have barely eaten anything, but last night I did have a plain burger/with backed red bliss potatoes and carrots. I only have plain scrambled eggs in the am with maybe toast or a waffle with peanut butter and I have basically forgone lunches altogether. I do have some aged cheese (over 12 months) that I may have on a few crackers to munch on. I had even gotten some non-dairy ice cream made of almond from the Health Food Store and still had issues.

Can anyone please tell me how long does it take before you even have a few normal days?

Thanks

Elizabeth. Having not seen your thread....ibs d. ugh. I had it for years. Could not leave the house, the whole 9 yards.

Followed many remedies and suggestions. The second biggest help for me was Teds Apple Cider Vinegar 2 tbsp 1/2 tsp of baking soda in a glass. Let fizz. Add 1/2 glass of water. Drink. It helped but was never the complete cure.

I was reviewing some notes earlier this year and stumbled on Teds remedy. In my notes it related to the connection of hormonal health being first in getting well. I did not write down what section I found it in.

It was dhea 12.5 mg to balance a females hormones. 1x a week. Second was 25mg dhea for intestinal health for a 130lb woman. I am a nearly 6 ft. Woman and average weight. So I used 50 mg of dhea. In the am

5mg of melatonin at bedtime. Within a day. It stopped. I took it 3 days. It was gone.

I followed up the following month with another 3 days.

It has been three months or so. It has not come back. Even if I take lots of c as sodium ascorbate. Which used to undo me.

The cost is about $10 to $15 to try.

I also am detoxed of fluoride and use teds other remedies. My diet is anything that is clean.

No msg

Vegetables oils...butter and coconut oil only.

Gluten and mostly grain free.

Avoid plastics

Aluminum

Soy

Sugar very little

It might be your answer.

Eleanor I take 50 mg of dhea in the morning and 5 mg of melatonin at night. I only take the dhea for 3 days to stop the ibs d. Then 1 more time the following month for 3 days.

You and I are nearly the same age. I am 60. To further help Ted advises a few other things for hormone balancing. I did them 5 years ago. My husband who works 3rd shift is on the same regime. It resets his body clock and improves his ability to stay well and heal if he gets hurt. My Mom did these things also. She had 2 surgeries and had been given cipro. She then had a cascade of side effects from that deadly antibiotic.

Her issues seemed insurmountable but we fixed her up and she is fine.

Really these are the basic defenses to any wellness you wish to achieve. You may already know much of this, bear with me.

First is fluoride. The elimination of this one toxin will change everything. Even if your water is fluoride free. If you eat out, or buy foods, water your garden, brush your teeth this poison is in you. You do not eliminate it in any way. It goes to your bones and pinal gland and shuts it down. It disrupts sleep. Causes bone pain. It causes your body to hang on to any aluminum which can penetrate the brain. It disrupts hormonal balance which in turn invites bad health.

You can remove it from your body. Teds borax remedy. 1/8 tsp of 20 Mule Team Borax in 1 liter of water. Use this water in beverages throughout the day. It does not taste great. Palatable cold. I just use some in coffee water as I make it through the day. Or tea or with some lemon. This will remove the excess estrogen from foods, soil, and plastics and our water. It is so over used in farming we are awash in it.

This one thing in 24 hours our family experienced miracles. Or daughter had pcos and narcolepsy. She got a period that night and slept a normal sleep. She had not had for 5 years. It helped my husband with his bloodclot. I was able to think clearly for the first time in several years. My Mom had her bone pain reduced. Her RLS calmed somewhat. There is more.

The point is fluoride is a toxin. It poisons us slowly and deliberately. It steals life and health. When it was tested for use in water, 60% of the test subjects had no reaction. 40% had bad reactions. Dental fluorosis, teeth browning, enamel worn away. Our daughter had those white stains on her teeth from tetracycline, at least that is what the dentist said. That faded away in a few weeks. My dentist cleaning appts gave me browner teeth. Every six months they got worse. That is why I made that borax water in the first place. I was trying to improve it. We were shocked at the results.

3x a week Ken and I take a hormone balancing set of supps that Ted recommends. This corrects the lower amounts our bodies produce as we age. Those balanced hormones provide the foundation of wellness every human needs to live to a ripe old age and pass quietly in our sleep. It keeps the prescriptions away. Anti aging therapy if you will.

25 mg of pregnenolone AM

12.5 mg dhea AM...this is for hormone balance not part of the ibs d regime. You can skip this amount the 3 days you take the higher dose.

Sea kelp for iodine, 2 ..900mg capsules AM

Magnesium malate for loose stool people. 250 mg 2x a day Am and bedtime. It is needed in every system in your body. From digestion bones connective tissue and brain.

1 activated b from Swanson as this has all the correct forms of the bs to give excellent energy digestion and liver health. AM. My second choice would be organic dessicated liver capsules from Swanson. Liver is high in Bs and has is rich in niacinamide which our bodies need throughout digestion and in our livers.

We buy extra B3 as niacinamide. Not niacin and take 500mg at bedtime to improve sleep. I cannot express how critical this one nutrient is.

B1 as thiamine mononitrate. AM Cheap thiamine has no nutrient value. It is what gives multi bs their distinctive smell. This pathway to absorb thiamine is often broken and it is so important to human health. 2 things to look up to understand this. Beri beri a very old illness that is cropping up everywhere unidentified and treated with drugs. Dr. Lonsdale has written extensively on it. His articles can be found on a blog called Hormones Matter. By Chandler Mars phd.

PM melatonin this is part of ibs d treatment but will improve your sleep everyday. It works with the dhea in your intestine to create the correct brain chemicals to sleep.your brain is driven by your gut health.

PM 2.5 mg of lithium orate this is a mineral used again to improve sleep and brain function.

PM Gaba 250 to 500mg try 250 first. Promotes correct stages of sleep. They, all the PM supps let you sleep and stay asleep.

At first this should be more than enough. If not you can add tryptophan to your regime.

The first week we took every day. I find that 3 days a week works for me. Ken's 3rd shift demands more so he takes them 5 days out of 7 even though he works 7 days a week.

Ted here on EC says you should take a break from supplements. Take two days off from everything. To absorb the good and dump the garbage.

So our schedule is 5 days supplements out of 7. Monday through Friday.

Borax monday through Thursday

Magnesium 5 days a week

Multi b, thiamine 3 mornings a week niacinamide bedtime.

Pregnenolone, dhea, kelp, 3 mornings a week.

Bedtime magnesium, melatonin, lithium, gaba, niacinamide. The first week 5 days..Monday through Friday following weeks you may not need them all 5 days. You will determine as you go along.

There are very few things he recommends for everyday use. We have found his therapies accurate every time.

Again I will mention that your ibs d regime is 3 days in a row. Dhea in the morning and melatonin at night.

To further improve your gut health I recommend the alkalinity chapter here on earth clinic. Acv or lime and baking soda with water 1/2 hour after food 2x a day 5 days out of seven. I highly recommend Ted and Bill Thompsons book on alkalinity. I keep giving away my copies. It is such basic health and nutritional information.

I also recommend on you tube Dr Michael Holicks video regarding vitamin d and how foundational it is to everyone. You would think equatorial countries that the population gets much sun would be rich in this foundational supplement but they are struggling much like the rest of the world. If you were to build a human from scratch vitamin d and magnesium would be the mortar.

Things that disrupt your efforts to get well...

Msg

Aspertame

GMOs

Gluten

Vegetable oils..eat only butter and coconut oil

Soy

Sugar

Try to eat your biggest meal midday. Keep dinner lighter. Try to be done with food for the day by 5pm this and alkalinity drinks keep cortisol from jumping all over the place during sleep and waking you up.

To get full trace minerals in the morning I drink a full glass of water with 1/4 tsp of sea salt in the morning. I sat down with a one month planner page wrote each thing down by splitting the days in half. It became an easy habit by the second week no more planner. I do this for all 6 of us easily. It becomes a pleasure to see real results within 1 to 3 days. It is very exciting to see our health return.

Thank you, Janet. Can you please clear up the dose of lithium and pregnenolone? You have mg but I see mcg when I go to order--that would make a big difference! I already have gaba, l-tryptophan, dhea, borax, sea salt. I ordered kelp powder so I can fine tune the dose, same with b1. I already take B3 for cholesterol (1000mg 2x/d). I didn't see 12.5 dhea anywhere, so I'll just cut my tablets in half. On another note, to those who can't get the correct dose--try to dissolve the tablet/empty the capsule into a known quantity of water. Then it is easy to pour off half to get half a dose, half again for 1/4 the dose, etc. This method works for most things--1 drop in 1 glass water, pour off half and you have 1/2 a drop left.....

Eleanor, I have been trying to post a correction to ec. My phone was not cooperating, I got it half typed and poof..gone.

Hopefully this will hold. Pregnenolone 25mg. My last 2 bottles are from Vitamin Shoppe and are by mg not mcg. Teds instruction says mg. I took a quick look at available doses 30 mg is what is being sold. From what I am seeing.

Yes lithium is mcg.

The first problem I encountered in sending the answer was the paragraph on progesterone cream. I had not realized it was not appearing on my post.

My son cleaned up my phone somehow. Hopefully this reaches you.

Progesterone cream. 1 pump placed on upper body changing location each time. 2 to 3 x a week. Ted says real progesterone not mexican yam derived. I have used Now brand. But there are others that are in tubs with dosing instructions.

Sorry for the mistake. Being unable to send a reply was torture. Janet

Your symptoms sound like mine were when I developed Celiac Disease.

I hope you have found relief by now...I know how terrible it can be!

A simple blood test can reveal If you're a match for Celiac. Heads up though, if you change your diet to gluten free to see if that's the issue you could get relief but at that point the blood test becomes more involved and the Dr's tell you to start eating gluten again....this is the point where I say they obviously don't understand the pain we're in!

Re: ibs-d. For those of you making recommendations that fix diarrhea, you really need to understand that ibs-d is not normal diarrhea. I see so many folks suggesting to take magnesium (malate doesn't cause loose stools) and I say HA, You wanna bet? EVERYTHING magnesium causes diarrhea for me. Sublingual mg that doesn't reach your stomach, check. Mag Oil or epsom salts that go thru your skin? Yep. ALL magnesium supplements, in any form, trigger an attack. The only mg I can take is via leafy greens. Charcoal does nothing, because it works by absorbing toxins and ibs-d is not caused by toxins, it's a reaction to stimulus, such as stress/lack of sleep/pain and more. Peppermint and calming herbs help but only a little and not for long.

If you don't have ibs-d, then you have no clue what we go thru. For instance, I had to go out of town this week for work. I took 3 immodium the night before my trip, ate/drank nothing after 8 pm the night before and barely made my flight due to diarrhea. I took 5 immodium just to get out the door. When I arrived at my destination I had half a bottle of water and spent an hour in the bathroom. Took 4 more immodium (long drive to my hotel) and stopped several times along the way. Still had not eaten since the night before. Finally got to the hotel, had crackers and water. Several bathroom trips later, I finally got to bed. This is normal for me when I travel. Food did not cause this, stress did. Immodium comes in bottles of 72 caplets. I use a bottle a week. I have juiced, tried all sorts of supplements, gone gluten free for 6 months and tried numerous other things and nothing works. Sorry for the rant but people really don't understand. And add to the diarrrhea, you get hemorhhoids from all the bathroom stops and muscle cramps from dehydration and lack of certain minerals. Headaches from dehydration and not eating. Pain from the cramping. Lack of sleep from the pain........You get the picture. I wouldn't wish this on anyone except the medical researchers. BTW, I've had all the tests and tried all the meds. I am actively lobbying my dr for a colostomy.

I know exactly what you mean. IBS d.

It is awful. It has many causes. MRSA. C Diff can be thrown in there. Bacterial infection, Viral components. Mine is from no lower intestine. Surgically removed. My Mom picked it up after her last colonoscopy. Bacterial I think. I could not leave the house, or the bathroom most days. For 5 years She is in the same boat.

Things that helped:

no gluten
aluminum
plastics
fluoride
MSG
table salt, sea salt only
vegetable oil, coconut oil or butter only

These eliminations provide a solid base to heal. Foundational platform.

Killing the viral bacterial component.

Ted's lysine remedy.

These are taken hourly. As lysine only lasts 55 minutes in the body. I make 3,4 dose bottles to last 3 days. 3 water bottles, fluoride free spring water. I pour off about an inch of water. in each bottle.

4 doses of 1000mg l lysine
1 dose 1500mg l threonine, sold as a pure powder on amazon
2 plain aspirin
1 dropper of methelene blue, from amazon aquarium suppliers.

M.B. recipe, It arrives in a powder form in a bottle. carefully add spring water to bottle to rim before cap area, this stains, make on a glass plate. Vitamin c mixed in some water removes stain, if it spills or drips. Order 1 2oz glass dropper bottle, fill dropper 2x with M.B. add to dropper bottle, fill remaining with mineral water leave enough room to put dropper back in.

Cap and agitate the bottle. you now have M.B. solution of .01solution to add to your remedy.

Add 1000mg of sodium ascorbate, vitamin c reacted with baking soda for optimal absorption.

Do each bottle the same. Cap and shake. Mark 4 equal doses for each. Take 1 dose an hour for 4 hours in AM. 1 bottle each day.
Alkalizing drink, the best one for the runs contains apple cider vinegar. The malates it provides help slow down the runs. It also helps constipation. It is a bowel corrector. It has many functions. It provides bicarbonates to digestion where it is critically needed in gallbladder and pancreas. It cleans up kidney and bladder carrying out debris and toxins harmlessly. It improves sleep and sleep stages. It also helps control cortisol during sleep when it tends to jump all over the place.
2 tbsp of ACV in a glass. Add 1/2 tsp baking soda, let fizz, add 1/2 glass of water and drink. 2x a day, 1/2 hour after food, 5 days out of 7. This also has some pain relieving qualities.

Hormones, the hidden culprit in most illness, especially intestinal issues. This has held true for my husband, daughters and my Mom. It does not matter your age. You need correct hormones in your intestine to run everything optimally. First, the devil in the details. Over estrogenation of every living thing on the planet. It is in food. water and environment.

Teds recommendation is DHEA, I took 100mg in the AM for 3 days. 2.5 to 5 mg of melatonin at bed time. Most people take 25mg a day of DHEA, or so but to get over the problem you need more. The first day my problem ended with just melatonin and DHEA. Then 2 extra days to make sure. I take a higher dose because I do not have a lower intestine and long past menopause. 5 days out of 7. Once you are well you can determine better your standard dosage. Quite a miracle.

For piles. 3 different things help. An old baby wipe container. Cut paper towels in half add to clean container. Pour in 1/2 spring water, 1/2 apple cider vinegar. Let it saturate the towels pour off any excess. Use these for cleaning area. Do not flush them.

Soothing pain. In a bottle. I mix 1/2 milk of magnesia and 1/2 castor oil. It acts as a barrier and healer. Apply with toilet paper.

Or a baby organic zinc ointment. Like desitin without petroleum.

2 things I recommend to look into. Vitamin d to get your immunity up to throw off the bacterial and viral things we encounter every day. Grassroots Health on Facebook is a great place to get solid information on it.

Bulletproof coffee. We have had great results with it. It is a great boon to health. Gut health and immunity. You can buy Dave Asperys products or cobble together your own. We just make our own.

When you get past the problem you most likely will be able to take magnesium maltate 250 mg 2x a day. Or use magnesium oil topically. You need it for everything. Especially strengthening sphincters.

Janet, thank you for your response. I am already doing all the items on the first section, elimination. I will get the items needed for the rest of your post and start that when I've gotten it all. I have some lysine, but probably not enough, and the dhea but will have to get the methylene blue. I may have the l-threonine, will have to look. I have tried everything! When I try something new, I usually stick to it rigidly for at least 1 month and then reassess to see how it's affecting me. Thanks again.

Janet, for the methelene blue--you said 1 dropperful is a dose? A bottle that has 4 doses of the concoction would contain 4 droppers full of MB? Seems like a lot. Also, the vit c is to prevent your eyes from turning blue? If they do get a bit blue, how long for them to go back to normal?

Gert,

Methylene blue is the most confusing dilution to make. I found a simple instruction 5 years ago. I can no longer find my source. It is on E.C. somewhere.

When I receive my bottle of powder. I add water, to the rim below the cap.

Cap and shake gently. Leave that stand a bit so excess drops out of the upper area of the bottle.

Using the dropper from an empty 2 oz dropper bottle. I fill it. It only fills about 3/4 the way. I put 2 of those in my dropper bottle. Then I add water carefully to the rim below the cap. Leaving room to put dropper in.

I dose 1 dropper into the 4 dose lysine remedy. It usually dissipates its blue when it sits with the whole remedy. I have used a little too much by a drop or two. I have used a little less by a drop or two. No harm to our family.

We have had some light green blue urine. Not often. Never had it gone to eyes. You could try a half dropper if you wish. Taking extra c removes the blue according to Ted. We haven't needed to.

Here is the methylene blue page. Explaining other methods. I did try to make it by cc with a syringe. Then I found the one I use. It works. No after problems.

Thanks, Janet, I've got some mb on order and will follow your directions when it arrives. Just wanted to make sure. And to the other poster--I have gone gluten free, strictly, for over 2 months in the past and it didn't change anything. I've always wondered--I had chemo as a child (18 months, so I don't remember it & my parents wouldn't tell me what or why--said I'd never get life insurance if I mentioned it). Did that start my problem? Is there any way to fix it now? I'm 60, so I guess all I can do at this point is live as well as I can. But, wow, that ibs d really makes life hard.

Gert, I do know about how awful IBS-D is. I finally irritated my large colon to the point of having 9" of it removed two years ago. Just wondered if you had heard of or tried sodium butyrate? It seems magical to me. I take two caps of it three times a day and so far, it's working WELL. I buy mine on Amazon....you can also google and / or watch YouTube videos on colon health and butyrate. Good luck!

Janet, in your post to me about ibs, you gave your recipe for mixing lysine, etc, with methylene blue in water bottles. Later in the post, you said something about mixing vit C ascorbate(?).

Do you put this into each bottle or is this just a single dose? If it goes into the water bottles, is this the amount/bottle? I assume that this is a single dose, taken once per day and that you make ascorbate so it's buffered and will be better tolerated?

If I don't hear any different, that's what I'll be doing. Thanks.

Gertie

For the remedy it is one dose per bottle.

Some folks take more sodium ascorbate, per day as a normal thing. This is based on Ted's doses for the remedy.

In his instructions it is the first dose. All of the sodium ascorbate. I changed it because, "six people" Leaving the house with remedy in hand for work etc. It works this divided up way for us.

Ted's actual instructions call for the Threonine, methylene blue and sodium ascorbate to be dosed first in am. The lysine hourly. I got so confused as to who had what when. 2 people work third shift here. It is even more confusing as 1 third shift is Sunday that is counted as Monday. The other starts Monday but that is really Monday that is actually Tuesday. 1 works second shift. 2 work mornings with different start times. I could not keep it straight. I still cannot. Lol.

So I experimented on myself first. Thank goodness it worked.

I was recently diagnosed with IBS. My symptoms include, sever constipation, black stools, upset stomach when I eat and when I have a bowel movement. I had been taking an over the counter drug and it kept me regular. However the stools each morning were initially hard followed immediately by a loose stool. I was prescribed a IBS drug which while I was on it (taken three times a day for two weeks) I was regular but still has some stomach discomfort. When I went off the drug my symptoms returned and the over the counter drum is not effective. I had a series of tests, scopes, colonoscopy and an endoscopic ultrasound. I was not tested for parasites at all. I am on a FODMAP diet and my constipation is terrible and so far I have not seen any improvement. Any advice.

Most conventional dr's do not diagnose or treat parasitism, even in children; and if you mention the possibility, you will likely be recommended psychological counseling or prescribed an antidepressant medication.

IMHO, many or most cases of IBS are caused by some type parasite and/or infection, so treatment with natural remedies is a good start.

I read on Natural News about a woman with ibs-d who said she ate only raw eggs and raw meat for a month and it cured the ibs-d. I'm okay with raw, but has anyone else heard of this? For Ulcer, you have to take 1 raw egg early in the morning in empty stomach and you have to supplement with vitamin C. But this can work for IBS-D as well, you have to try and see. IBS, CROHNS, stomach ulcer, UC, lactose intollerance, IBD, sibo all are just the branch of the GI disease manifesting simple and aggressive symptoms. Never heard of taking raw meat, myself at least.

I eat a Paleo diet and I had terrible IBS for years before I ate Paleo, I eat certain meat and offal raw, a lot of people on Paleo eat raw eggs as well. I was bought up on raw eggs with warm raw milk with honey in. I was a happy, fit child and I swear it was the raw eggs and milk etc. Great stuff, and since I've been eating the meat raw, or nearly raw, mine has corrected itself, and a long standing bowel problem has gone, and I feel many other benefits. It's early days yet but it can only get better if it's got me here so quick? Other things need mending bodily, but it will come, thanks to this way of eating, and I eat loads, its not a diet, its just an eating plan, but it's doing me good. Love Andrea C xxxxxxxxxxx

Re: Advice Sought for IBS

First, you need to watch your diet. Keep a journal and record what you eat, when, how you felt, etc. Also note if you are stressed, tired, that sort of thing. You will notice in a short time what foods bother you when eaten often/occasionally/very rarely/in great quantities. For instance, I can drink 1 c of coffee but not 2 in a day. Some foods are definite triggers--chocolate, tomatoes, high fats. We are always told to eat whole grains, but this is very hard on ibsD. Well-cooked without peel is usually safe for fruits & vegs. Then, look at fiber. There ar 2 kinds, soluble and insoluble. The soluble is goopy, as in oatmeal and lima beans. The insoluble is roughage, like celery. Avoid the insoluble and increase the soluble. If you eat things like nuts, chew very well. Make sure you stay hydrated, water is usually good. Peppermint is an antispasmodic and can help with cramping--comes in capsules, too. good Luck. I've been helped by folks on EC so much, I'm glad I can pass it on.
