Have been remiss and never said thanks to Bill. I had chronic asthma, using 2 different inhalers from VA, 3 snorts am and pm. Started inhaling peroxide about 5 years ago, initially had some throat irritation. Stopped for a week and restarted at half strength. Figured it was coating on back of my throat from years of inhaling. Did 50% for a week and then full strength. Still have my 3 refills from VA in linen closet as a reminder. On a recent visit annual vist to VA I got a new female MD, She almost had a cow when I told her how I cured asthma, in so many words she said "impossible and insisted that I take a rescue inhaler which I returned unopened when they arrived.

My wife of 55 years has had a chronic minor cough, which may have been a throw back to when she smoked. She had heart problems 7 years ago and quit. A few months ago I got her started on using a small inhaler and keeping it on a table next to her TV chair. The cough is now non existent. My sincere thanks Bill and I know the good Lord has blessed you for your efforts. Jim

I have bronchial asthma and have found that gluten, soy protein, and whey protein send me into severe episodes. Elimination of foods containing these substances has helped me control my asthma effectively.

Buteyko Breathing Method

The Butyeko method of breathing is a definite MUST for those with asthma and who are committed to getting off asthma meds. I ordered the DVD and book from Amazon, now am currently doing the exercises daily. Along with ACV, I am now down to 1 puff of flovent every other day as opposed to Advair twice a day over a year ago....

Glutathione, MSM

Try inhaled Glutathione (you will need to get a prescription from a holistic doctor). It works wonders for all sorts of severe breathing problems! Please ask about this miraculous supplement from a knowledgable holistic doctor - you will need to get it from a compounding pharmacy. I know MSM works well for breathing troubles, too, so that is something to look into as well.

Magnesium

I had for months this sensation of not being able to get a full breath or yawn, etc. I read somewhere that a deficiency in magnesium can cause this sensation. Sure enough this was the case with me. I started taking Magnesium and all of these symptoms went away. I went to Dr. after Dr. and test after test---all I needed was magnesium. I sure wish I could get the word out to more people with this problem that could get help/relief. Hope this helps!

So from late August through Mid-September my asthma is at its worst. This year has been better but not according to my standards. Every night I would have to us my inhaler which is not acceptable to me. After reading through this website I came across Vitamin B and decided to try it. Incredibly my asthma has improved. I am taking Vitamin B-complex daily and I haven't had to use my inhaler since starting. This worked for me but I can't guaruntee it will work for everyone.

Cold Shower Therapy

I can certainly vouch for the cold shower remedy. After normal shower I turn up the heat to the hottest possible before it's actually burning for about a minute, then turn almost all the hot off. I have a shower rose that you can hold rather than a fixed one, this helps as I can start on the legs first then work up to head and chest and back. It's important to breath deeply while doing this, you will notice your breathing becoming more intense naturally with the shock but really try to push all the air out of your lungs as this gets rid if the toxins faster. I only leave cold on for about 15 seconds. You won't feel cold stepping out of shower, you will feel warm and indeed invigorated and rejuvenated. I have been doing this for about 3 weeks every day and yes my asthma has improved. Also for those on cleansing regimes this is a great one too.

Apple Cider Vinegar, Baking Soda, Garlic, Oregano

UPdate on the progress I have made...

I am closing in on 60 days of treatment. -- The 14th of May will mark 60 days. Some thoughts:

--after 2 weeks of Oregano Oil drops added to mpty capsules, I ran out and bought an Oregano powder in a capsule-- used it for two weeks (among other stuff)-- and regressed.. ONLY the Oregano Oil-P73, Super Strength seemed to work in tandem with the other aforementioned supplements (garlic, ACV pills, H202 spray)...

-- Beginning of April I stopped (ran out) of ACV pills, but replaced it with a supplement of Red Clover capsules (couple pills, 2x/day)--used it for 2 weeks, then ran out of it... then in mid April I replaced it with Vitamin C capsules (5000 mg/day) and a probiotics supplement.

Now I currently am taking 10-15 drops of liquid Oregano Oil (in capsule, 3x/day), and Vitamin C (5000mg/day), and a Probiotics supplement.

I am confident my "Adult Onset" Asthma was, in reality, a bacterial infection in the lungs . I feel MUCH better-- and my chest cavity feels larger when inhaling-- The 19th of May will mark 60 days since I last used an Inhaler, and I dont EVER plan to use one again..

I may not be at 100% yet-- but I feel much better, and sleep very easy at night (I used have the hardest time breathing once I laid down to fall asleep)...

If you have kids or your own case of asthma-- please give this a try and try to remain vigilent through the inevitable "healing crisis" you will experience as your body purges itself from the toxins lodged in the lungs and elsewhere...

Good luck!!!

Apple Cider Vinegar, Baking Soda, Garlic, Oregano

I have found fantastic results from a combination of ACV, Oregano and Garlic for what the conventional Dr. called simply "Adult onset asthma".

A little background: 4 years ago I began having (gradually) more difficulty breathing at night. During day was fine and I was active. But, at night the tightness in chest was apparent, and along came the wheezing too. It became unbearable and I could not lay down totally without feeling like I was going to choke. Anyway, I went to a conventional Dr. I knew and he did tests and simply said I had developed Adult onset Asthma (I was 35 at the time). He prescribed Advair and I took it (for about 1. 5 yrs) and it helped a ton. But cost a lot too. I eventually sought out a cheaper alternative and he prescribed Symbicort. It cost a lot too. I used it sparingly...

In Nov 2010, I was jogging (as I normally did) and my heart began to race, became light-headed, and almost passed out and had to walk home. Haven't jogged since. Everytime I do any strenuous activity my heart would race and I almost pass out. I did pass out in my yard on March 12 of 2011. Trying to use a hand saw to simply cut down a small tree (5" diameter). That pushed me to solve my issues and get off the prescription. [About this same time, a friend had recommended a website where a man detailed his fight against asthma AND his own doctor. His research concluded that he might not be suffering from asthma, but rather a very serious bacterial infection in his lungs (Chlamydia Pneumonia). He had to convince his doctor to presrcibe a serious regimen of antibiotics to solve the problem... and it did]. To confirm it wasnt a heart issue I got a $59 CTScan to confirm there was no blockage, or issues that weren't solely lung related.

I suspected my issue was the same, especially given my doctor had NO reason for why my "asthma" magically developed. So, being more inclined to try an alternative method OTHER than antibiotics, I used this combination to garner awesome results:

Oregano Oil drops-- 5 to 10 drops into an empty capsule (3x/day) taken before meal-- and topically-- 3 drops on chest-rubbed in, 2 drops on each ankle (inside just above heel), 1 drop on each side of nose rubbed in (stay away from eyes! )-- 1x/day (first week only)-- I smelled awful for a couple hours-- but the fumes felt therapeutic!

with

Garlic Powder Capsules- 3 to 4 capsules (3x/day) = about 3500-4500mg/day (just before meals)

with

Apple Cider Vinegar (pills)-3 to 4 pills (3x/day) = 5-7g/day (just before meals)

and

Baking soda water (1 glass every morning--1st thing)--hoping to improve systemic alkalinity

and

Sporadic use of Hydrogen Peroxide- [I emptied a nasal sprayer and replaced with H2O2]. Inhaled (5-10x/day) directly in mouth- Hoping to aid in the break up of deeply rooted/lodged infection/bacteria

-------------

Regimen began 3/14/2011, I still used inhaler 1x/day (as normal) until 3/16...then began skipping days. Used this method for 5 days and then the Healing Crisis began. From 3/19 to 3/22 a sore throat appeared. Followed by the addition of a runny nose & raspy voice. On the 24th (11th day of treatment)I also was sneezing and felt clammy. Rough night onthe 25th-- Deep Sore throat, cough, major lung discharge of mucus, & nasal mucus discharge too ( but no fever). Sat 26th, same sore throat, lung discharge and no fever (26th marked 1 week since last inhaler use! ). Sun 27th, mild sore throat, reduced discharge and night sweat (like the breaking of a fever)... Noticeable increase in chest cavity when inhaling over the past week!! Still mild tightness only felt at night when laying down.. BUT MUCH better than before and NO inhaler! . 28th-31st, still using regimen and getting slightly better in every respect. I plan to continue the regimen for a full 30days. 31st-converted from oregano oil drops (ran out), to capsules and will continue til mid April.

I am chronicling this as further evidence that alternative methods work, they work well and they can replace MANY conventional methods without the nasty side effects and the high costs! tomorrow will be two weeks since I last used the inhaler and I have 0 desire or need to use it. I am only hoping in the next few weeks I can get back to the full exercise regimen I was used to without my heart racing again (Symbicort side effect [per the insert] -- "irregular heartbeat, racing heartbeat")

I hope this may help someone with "asthma"--look into a possible alternative treatment that CURES them!

I have had asthma problems for years and after a bad two months with bronchitis I was having even worse asthma. My Dr. told me I needed to be on steriods, inhaler, antihistamines, and get rid of my dogs! Yea right... I'm not an idiot. I never went back to that Dr. but my asthma has gotten better. I did take antihistamines at first (out of desperation) just to settle the allergy induced asthma and get the initial inflamation out of my lungs.

So after two years I have found a few things that work. Every morning before I eat or drink anything else I have a cup of really hot, strong, organic black coffee from our french press. This seems to break up everything that has settled in my lungs while I was sleeping. Cutting out dairy really helps but I tend not to follow my own advice on that. Throughout the day I drink at least two glasses of water with 1-2 Tablespoons Apple Cider Vinegar in them. I notice my asthma is way better on days when I spend time outdoors, at least open your windows. I moved from Portland to the Cascade mountain range and that helped imennsley within two months. And Yoga helps so much too, especially the warrior two position. I do steam inhalation over a pot of boiling water for 3-5 min. Befor bed everynight... This makes my skin look great too.

Two years after having horrible bronchitus I have went from taking my inhaler twice a day to taking it maybe once a week. I'm starting on organic virgin coconut oil so I'm excited to see more positive changes. ACV also cures my boyfriends windburn/rosecea he gets from working outside in the harsh elements. He drinks a glass with 2 tablespoons ACV after work everyday and it clears up within an hour. I LOVE THIS STUFF!

Cayenne Pepper

Issue: Asthma since age 3, ranging from mild to severe depending on triggers or illness.

Former Medication: 2 inhalers, one fast acting (as needed but sometimes up to 6x a day) and when severe, a steroid (2x a day)Reason for seeking a natural alternative: 28 years of medication that was doing more damage than improvement to my health.

Current natural alternative: Cayenne Pepper Dosage: a few good shakes of your store bought seasoning (I like the spices from the hispanic food section vs the standard) plus some water (just a gulpful). Start off with one shake and then judge your reaction. Mix it up and drink it down. You will want water after, and its a good time to get down 8 oz.

Reaction: Instantaneous relief. Seriously. It feels different, but its because you didn't just take in a ton of chemicals and adrenaline, in my opinion. Take some nice deep breaths and chill for a second. Only one time did I have to do anything else during a severe attack, and that was drink a cup of black coffee (no cream-it cancels out the efficacy for me) I feel so confident with this remedy that I let my fast acting inhaler rx run out and I threw out the steroids. I carry a bottle of cayenne pepper in my purse, just in case. I preventatively use my mix in the am and the pm. It doesn't give me an energy boost that is notable that some have mentioned. I hope this helps my fellow asthma sufferers.

Kelp, Brazil Nuts

A kelp tablet a day plus a brazil nut, for me, provided the cure to my asthma. The combination of the iodine in the kelp added to the rich source of selenium in the brazil nut did the trick, and I have now been free of asthma symptoms for three years; following a period of having asthma for some seven years previously.

I don't know if you've already tried this or not, but I have quit consuming almost anything that might be considered a stimulant. I won't get into the full details of what was going on besides my asthma, but within a day of quitting caffeine and my nasal antihistamine spray, my cold-weather breathing felt better than it has in years. The past three winters have been hard on me, usually taking most of the spring to really recover. Two days before I quit, I had taken my rescue inhaler five times, despite also using a steroid/long-term beta agonist twice a day. I've felt so good, in fact, I've even been out walking and running at night, in below freezing weather, something I would have never considered just a couple of weeks ago. Another thing that has helped is forcing myself to breathe through my nose as often as possible. As always, the ACV helps with overall health. I try to take two jiggers a day and chase it with at least 8 oz. Of H2O.

I was diagnosed with seasonal asthma, and have had the same brutal cough for about 5 years. It would last for about 3 months untreated. Advair worked but I hated the side effects. Read about mullein on line 4 days ago and my cough is 85% better. The first night I took the drops my cough almost went away and I slept great for the first time in weeks. This miracle plant worked for me. I have been taking the drops 4 times a day and drinking the tea twice a day. In fact... Gonna go make a cup now :)

Thank you so much, Dianne for sharing your experience giving your son Aloe Vera for his asthma. I would like to try it too. Just a question on the daily intake: The 3 inch you are cutting and preparing from the plant, mixed with orange juice for the taste, is that one dose or from there you take a spoonful every day or how much do you take?

Hello Karen, Hi Y'all; Karen, I see that you have made remarkable progress with your recovery from asthma and that you have great self discipline. It may be just that more time is the component in your procedure. It looks good that you are supplying the electrolytes, sodium, bicarbonates, chlorides, and magnesium. I am assuming that you also provide potassium in your diet with many vegetables and some fruits. (helps shortness of breath, air hunger). All the supplements that you have listed have helped many with asthma and excess mucous conditions. My husband, (asthma 14 years), has also been taking kelp and iodine(approx. 5mgs iodine) for 1 month, and has this week noticed a reduction in morning mucous, reduction of allergy to pets, less eye irritation, decreased need for afternoon coffee, and a reduced need for his dilator. Here are suggestions that may be favorable to you: good digestible protein, good B-complex, extra B-12 (sublingual methyl type), and, a nice pat of butter. (good source of cholesterol and saturated fat for production of anti-inflammatory hormones). Garlic, ginger, and horseradish are powerful for promoting easy breathing. Thank You, Connie

Multiple Remedies

Karen: It sounds like the coconut oil is doing you good, since it contains the one specific fatty acid needed by the lung epithelia to make surfactant. It also sounds like you are being continuously reinfected or exposed to something nasty. Do your workplace, or home, or another place you frequent have any known mold problems?

Do you have old, worn carpet/rugs? Or a bed mattress that maybe you kept over from an old abode with problems?

You could try a 72-hour fast if you're well enough, to act as an elimination diet done all at once, where you try to find the offending food! If the lungs clear, then the problem is in the diet somewhere. Or you could just have a hypersensitivity (not quite an allergy) to something, even a toxin. If visiting friends for a few days at least, do the symptoms go away?

Lastly for a checklist for now, and only if you do have an allergy or hypersensitivity, many people
In the past 10-12 years have tried the products "yamoa powder" and/or "oralmat" to rebalance their immune systems to eliminate things from allergies to asthma!

I have heard that drinking half your weight in ounces of water per day and using sea salt is good for asthma, and the plugs were mentioned specifically. If I remember correctly, it is one teaspoon of salt per gallon of water you drink.

Health to All... I am 63 yrs, never smoked, vegetarian from age 7, yoga teacher, great stamina all day, weight 124 lbs, 5'5" female. It started a couple of years ago with a cough only at night when I would lay down. It then went into a tightening of my lungs & I had trouble breathing. Hard to breath in - Hard to breath out. My sleep every night was disrupted to the extent that I wasn't sleeping at all, had to get up & totally exhausted, I needed oxygen! It got worse with each month until landing in the Emergency room for inhalation. They gave me a puffer which I ended up using every night about 3:00am sometimes 2ce at night, I could see myself dragging an oxygen tank around with me if I didn't come up with a cure soon. I had two separate labs test two large pieces of yellow phlegm that I was finally able to cough up. It didn't happen easily. Both labs said they were not viral or microbial. I did a fast for worms & candida which helped some.

Started using the ACV with baking soda 2ce day. Coconut oil in morning coffee & all hot foods, Vit C with methylene blue 4-8 drops daily, MSM, Magnesium powder at night 1/2 tsp, live on foods low in sugar, use sea salt only, take kelp powder 1tbl daily & iodine drops 15 @ 3%, gave up dairy, tried for 3 months an inhalator with 3% peroxide, with the results all being positive and every week getting better.

It has been 1 year now since I went into the ER for emergency air. I only use the puffer approx. 3 times a month. Now I cough up once in a while these tiny round, formed, mucus balls (smaller than a BB) plus small strings of mucus about 3mm long and less than a pencil lead in width. After they are coughed out I can breath nearly perfect. If only I knew what to take to cleanse the lungs (aveoli) of these "plugs" Please help if any one knows how to cleanse the lungs of these mucus plugs forever. I still have the usual cracking & wheezing with these plugs which still greatly interfere with nightly sleep & oxygen intake. The huge amounts of former mucus is gone, it's only these tiny plugs to get rid of now. Then I will pronounce myself cured of Asthma!
