@Danna from Quebec (2016):

Thank you for sharing! It worked! I mixed 4 drops oregano oil with 1 tablespoon coconut oil, each night.

Also, every night before bed, I mix one teaspoon coconut oil with one drop oregano n rub it all over the external genitalia.

No more fishy smell or discharge!

You will notice this from the 3rd day onwards. No need for suppositories. Just do that regimen.

I take 1000 mg vit c and zinc per day and 2000 mg d3. Just to help my system. But It totally cleared after the coconut/ oregano oil mix.

Hope this helps.

Relax, don't give up, smile and be happy.

I have suffered back and forth with BV and Yeast Infections for the last 6 years. For years I did the yo-yo between meds, never thinking to try a natural cure. My last BV infections was 2.5 years ago and I, for the first time used a suppository made of boric acid, coconut oil and probiotics. I used it for 2 wks and it healed it. No issues, no yeast/bv yo-yo. Fast forward to August 2017....

I got another BV infection. Once I felt it come on I immediately started using a tea tree oil tampon. My boss had told me she's used that before and it worked wonders and it was much easier than the more messy suppositories. I used that for 3 days, per her instruction. After that I still didn't feel ok so I went to the Dr to get an actual diagnosis to make sure it wasn't yeast. The Dr confirmed it was BV and sent it to the lab. I went home and did the tea tree for 7 days thinking maybe it wasn't long enough the first time. I just dropped about 10-20 drops on a light tampon and inserted it and changed it out every 8 hrs. While I was doing that the lab confirmed it was a mild infection. After the 7 days of tea tree tampons I did my 14 days of the boric acid, coconut oil and probiotic suppositories just to be on the safe side. When that was done I was sure it must be gone but 48 hrs later I started getting symptoms again and feeling a little feverish. Back to the dr I went. She confirmed the infection was still there and still mild. I told her I was not taking an antibiotic and she was totally supportive. She suggested 3 wks of straight boric acid at night. I got capsules and filled them with boric acid and inserted one in the morning and at night for 3 wks. I felt better for a bit and then didn't toward the end of the 3 wks which was also my period. I was also drinking ACV at 2 tbsp 2x a day and that didn't seem to be helping either.

My diet is already very clean. I am on a modified GAPS diet where I drink homemade bone broths, only organic/grass fed meats, organic eggs, organic veggies, no sugar, no chemicals, no preservatives, no grains. So there is not much I could attribute or change in my diet.

I came back onto earth clinic and found the posts for Oregano Oil. I've heard it's awesome as an antibiotic and have other friends that have used it for other kinds of infections. I did some more research and decided to give it a shot. I decided to attack it from a couple angles this time. I got some Wild Oil of Oregano Oreganol. You can find it at Whole Foods or Amazon. Amazon is cheaper. Get the regular strength NOT the super strength. Not all oregano oils are the same so research them well, there needs to be a high level of carvacrol.

I started taking it at 6 drops a day 3x a day in water. AND I created suppositories using organic coconut oil, 4 drops Oreganol and 4 drops DoTerra tea tree oil. To make the suppositories I took a 1/2 tbsp measuring spoon and solid coconut oil. Filled the spoon and made a little well in the center with my finger. I put the 8 drops in the well and covered it with more solid coconut oil, wrapped it in plastic wrap (or put in a sandwich baggie) and put it into the freezer for 20-30 minutes. Inserted it in the morning and at night. You must wear a pad when you do this. During the day you can change it to a panty liner once you're sure all the stuff has leaked out. You will smell like oregano oil but not so much that people with notice, just when you go to the bathroom you can smell it.

I did this for 4 wks just to be on the safe side. I definitely felt better after the first 2 wks but I didn't want to risk it coming back. I did it from one period straight through to the next one. This time when I period hit my symptoms didn't get worse. That was encouraging.

I went to the Dr again yesterday and he said my swab looked completely normal. I am a little irritated on the outside and he prescribed a cream to help with that. Not sure if that is from the oregano oil or just from 3 months of BV. Either way I was so relieved it was gone I almost cried.

2 months ago I also started oil pulling again so I am not sure how much that helped. If you don't know what that is you should research it. It's an ancient healing practice, keeps your gums super healthy (even if you don't floss) and helps to remove toxins, bacteria, yeast and all bad stuff from your body without removing the good stuff.

I've had bv for a couple of months and it finally went away when I got a cold and took my natural remedy. In less than a week I was bv free! It's also an easy process which I love, I will try this next time I have it. I put three drops of 100% oregano oil in a tablespoon of extra virgin olive oil and had it twice a day for about 5-6 days . That's it!

I have been to this website several times to find a cure for BV and I want to share how I finally fixed mine. I had been suffering from Bacterial Vaginosis or BV for almost last three years. Obviously, the first thing I did was seek medical advice. I was prescribed oral antibiotics, antibiotic suppositories and boric acid suppositories multiple times. Every time the BV came back within days of stopping the treatment. After that I tried every home remedy I read about including, hydrogen peroxide douches, tea tree oil suppositories, oral and vaginal probiotics, garlic suppositories, yogurt, etc. Nothing worked and BV always came back within a day or two of stopping the treatment. I finally read about oil of oregano a month ago and gave it a try.

I took a teaspoon of olive oil in a medicine dosage cup and mixed 4 drops of oil of oregano in it and drank it every day for two weeks. I also took half a teaspoon of olive oil in a small syringe, no needle attached, and mixed 4 drops of oil of oregano and put it inside my vagina at night and tried to keep it in there for as long as I could. It burned a lot on the first day for almost 5 to 10 minutes but then it wasn't that bad from the second day. I used it for 6 days in a row and used some yogurt on the 7th day at the bedtime. I slept with a thin pad on so the oil wouldn't go to other areas and burn me there. I repeated the same on the second week. At the beginning of the third week I got my periods. I didn't drink or put the oil inside me during my periods. Also, this time I used pads instead of tampons. It's been 3 days since my periods ended and I didn't see any BV symptoms, otherwise I used to start smelling the fishy odor towards the 4th or the 5th day of my periods.

Another thing I did is I completely abstained from having sex during the treatment. Yesterday I had sex with my hubby the first time in over three weeks and I still feel okay. I think his semen is way too alkaline to mess up my pH level. I think I will go back to drinking the oil but not put anything inside me anymore unless I see the symptoms again. Please feel free to ask any questions you have. I understand what a nuisance this disease is and how it affects us physically and emotionally.

Good luck!

I thought I had BV, so I went to my OB/GYN for some meds. After several tests and at least 5 more doctors over a 4 year period and 3 different cities, each one said I had something different, and treated me for each issue they thought it was. One doctor tested it as E. Coli and said I must be "colonized" and it will always return no mater what I do. One physician said. "I think this odor problem is just the way you smell." Embarrassing! Gosh! I am, and always have been extremely careful about my hygiene...two showers every day, use antibacterial soap, etc..etc..but no one could cure this awful odor I was experiencing shortly after showering. I was so frustrated, and embarrassed that someone might smell this odor coming from me! I started wondering.... Was it coming from my vagina? My bladder? My glands? Four years, and no cure. I used all the prescribed medications to no avail. I douched with Hydrogen Peroxide. Still returned. Lots of external and internal good bacteria....nothing helped. I got to the point that I decided I was going to have to live with this problem for the rest of my life. I tried tea tree oil down near the opening of my vagina. After about a month, it caused a serious imbalance of my hormones, and my hair started falling out, by the handfuls! I stopped that immediately! So, I start researching essential oils, mainly for my tooth that has been bothering me. I find Oil of Oregano, which is supposed to be a very strong anti-bacterial oil, better than prescribed antibiotics.

I diluted the Oil of Oregano with 100% Avocado Oil, which I just use as face oil at night. Just a couple of drops with about 10 drops of the Avocado Oil. I rubbed it all around my pubic hair, the opening to my vagina, and it did sting just a little at first....but then after a few days, it stopped stinging! I noticed the odor had disappeared. I continued to use it as mentioned above for about 3 more weeks, wanting to make certain that all of the bacteria was gone...it has completely killed whatever that bacteria was, and my odor is gone. I just use it about once a week, to make certain that it never returns. I think that there must have been a bacteria that was resistant to all the drugs, and other treatments. I still don't know what it was exactly, and I think I picked it up in a hospital..... but I am thrilled that this 4 year problem is gone! Oil of Oregano is an excellent oil to keep in your medicine cabinet... make sure it is "ORGANIC". I bought several more bottles.

Ok girls! I think I finally found the solution for bacterial vaginosis. It came to me after desperately searching for a solution to solve the horrible vaginal smell I got after my csection. Whatever caused it is unknown. All I know is that it wasn't normal. I tried hydrogen peroxide but I only got temporary relief, then the smell would come back. So what I did is I added 15 drops of oregano oil to 1 tablespoon coconut oil. I then mixed the whole thing and applied it internally and externally using a tampon. I applied generously and left the tampon in overnight. It stung for about 30 minutes then went away. The next day voila, problem solved. I had no more smell! If anyone tries this, I recommend doing the treatment for 3 nights just to be sure. You should see an improvement in the first night. This remedy also works with vaginal yeast infections. Don't ever take liver toxic diflucan again!!! I'm interested to know if anyone else has success with this. I'm sure it has multiple uses. Please give me your feedback! I was diagnosed with bv 3 years ago and since then I have taken multiple oral and topical antibiotics, all while abstaining from sex, eliminating sugar and refined carbs and taking probiotics and folic acid but my symptoms always returned.

I tried all of the regimines listed on EC for bacterial vaginosis but they all only worked temporarily.

Finally I decided to try oregano oil. I bought it at the health food store. It's also available online. There is an essential oil which should not be used. I used the kind that is blended with olive oil and fit for consumption. I took it orally (3 drops 4 times daily for 14 days) and applied it vaginally (1 drop 2 times a day for 7 days then 1 drop once a day for 7 days). I know that generally it is unadviseable to use this oil vaginally but it was the only thing that worked for me and it was uncomfortable for about 5 minutes a day but completely worth it. It's been 3 weeks now and none of my symptoms have returned. I apply 1 drop internally after sex and take 2 drops daily by mouth. I don't know if it's necessary to continue this treatment but I think I will for the time being just to make sure it's gone for good.

I also inserted a tampon with plain organic yogurt 4 hours after my second oregano oil application and left it for 2 hours daily. (I tried this with the other treatments too so I know this in and of its self wasn't the cure)

This condition has been terrible to try and deal with. Between visits to the DR, prescriptions and various treatments I spent over a thousand dollars trying to treat this without any success. I hope that sharing this remedy will help someone else out there who is still looking for help.

Note! Do not use this cure if you are using condoms as your main mode of contreception - the oil may break down the latex.

Best wishes for good health to all the ladies out there who are suffering with this condition.

I have been dealing with BV for 3 years now. I've tried everything. Gels, creams, pills, pills and more pills. I was looking online after my last "outbreak" happened and the dr prescribed yet another antibiotic. I found this site. The acidolphilus worked when I could remember to take it. I wouldn't try the douche. It seems everytime I douche it only makes the BV worse. But I did mix 1/3 part peroxide with 2/3 part water and wash myself with it. And then opened an acidolphilus capsule and inserted it. It helped. For a few days that is. So I asked a friend of mine that is an herbal expert what I could take that might help this "curse" I have. She suggested trying oregano pills. So I took two a day for three days. And while it tasted like I'd just eaten a huge slice of pizza everytime I belched. The BV is now gone. I know this isn't going to be a permenant solution. My dr says there's nothing that will cure BV, but possibly he's wrong. Maybe together us "cursed" ladies will find a cure. Thank you so much for all of you that have had the guts to post about this. I know first hand that it's a very embarrassing topic. So thank you! Good luck to everyone!!
