Apple Cider Vinegar, H202, Boric Acid

I have tried just about everything on the planet. It never was red, nor was it visible much (if you spread the ball sack it would look shiny).

Best things which work to completely remove the problem over time:

I found that a combination of things, together, works well. Two that nobody has mentioned that can help: Kyolic Garlic liquid would work well. Apply, then let it dry with a hair drier.

ACV, full-strength, applied three times-per-day which has 3 cloves of garlic cut in half put into the bottle.

35% Hydrogen Peroxide mixed 2 teaspoons of 35% to 15 teaspoons of distilled water. Apply, let it stand a few minutes, blot dry, hair drier, or rub until dry. This makes a solution which is a bit stronger than 3% (about 5%); but doesn't burn you.

WARNING! Always keep 35% in a plastic bag in the fridge. If you were to ever drink it, you would die a horrid death. When you mix it, treat it like it's battery acid. It causes thick white burns that are painful. Mix it over the sink and shake the bottle afterwards, washing off the outside of the bottle and drying it completely.

After it is mixed up, mark it clearly and put the dilution strength on it with a Sharpie Marker. Use it at least three times-per-day.

Alternate with 70% or greater Alcohol. Remember that proof of alcohol is twice the percentage of alcohol in the bottle. So, get 180 proof Jamaican Rum if you can find it.

Dust lightly with Boric Acid. You can find it in the insect killing area because it is used to kill cockroaches. Many are scared of Boric Acid... but they say it isn't much more poisonous than Baking Soda is.

Borax is NOT Baking Soda. It is related to it, but it is not Boric Acid.

Then, after you have thoroughly dried the area... apply 100% lanolin to the area. Lanolin does NOT wash off and stops all oxygen to reaching the fungus. Works better than Vaseline because it just can't be washed off and is thicker than Vaseline.

...

Methods I'd stay away from? NEVER use 35% Hydrogen Peroxide, straight from the bottle (Unless you love chemical burns on your balls).

NEVER use straight Thyme Oil, Eucalyptus Oil, Peppermint Oil or Oregano Oil on your private parts, period (unless you LIKE extreme pain, your balls contracting severely from the excruciating pain, with nothing that you do to try and wash it off working and the skin peeling off extremely tender balls for three days as it heals to occur). Even diluted oils of these types is NOT recommended. If you can get rid of the problem with things which don't burn and sting, why use things which burn and sting and give you a third-degree burn on your private parts?

Do these things three times-per-day and alternate treatments. Keep it up for a couple weeks, way past when the itching goes away.

Then, when you go camping, take a small bottle of ACV with you, some powdered boric acid in a tiny ziplock bag (you can get 1" x 1" bags on-line). and take a tiny bit of lanolin with you in another bag.

If you ever go swimming in water holes, this can start up itching quite quickly. After sex, after swimming in any water supply that is not chlorinated, after camping and sleeping in your sleeping bag for hours... Apply the vinegar, let it dry. Put the boric acid on it. Cover with lanolin. Go to sleep. Do it again when you wake up.

Thank you so much about the Whitflield's Oil treatment - I ordered a small amount of this myself just now.

Previously, I did something that cured jock itch for 4 months in one day. First I sprayed apple cider vinegar on the rash. When the vinegar had dried out slightly, I covered the whole area with coconut oil. The result was a burn that lasted one hour. The next day the rash looked like it had been bombed, with the classic signs of a bomb crater. My leg also hurt slightly in the area, but recovered completely in a few days.

However, this method is hard to duplicate because the apple cider vinegar needs to be at a perfect level of dryness so that it is not pushed off the rash by the coconut oil.

Chlorine

I concur with this. I'm waiting for my own post about this to be approved! I had severe jock rash for the last three weeks. After trying tea tree oil, apple cider vinegar and crushed garlic (all of which did nothing), I went to the pharmacy. They gave me an anti-fungal cream (Daktarin) which caused me to flare up and really exacerbated the rash. It's ludicrous to put a moisturizing cream on a fungal infection as moisture is precisely what fungus needs to thrive. Last night however, I went for a swim in the local pool. Now the rash is virtually gone! Chlorine was the answer for me :-)

I've suffered from relapses of jock itch (aka ring worm, athlete's foot - it's the same fungal infection) for many years now. Here are the various remedies I've tried over the years with their results.

Anti-Fungal cream from the pharmacy (Daktarin was one of them). This is dreadful, it only exacerbates the problem. As it's a moisturizer, it causes it to flare up and spread. Fungus needs moisture and darkness to thrive, so this is a joke. Pharmaceutical companies can be like snake oil salesmen. 0 out of 10

Natural remedies like Tea Tree Oil, Crushed Garlic, Apple Cider Vinegar. These did nothing for me at all. Although I've given them a couple of marks as they're certainly better than pharmaceutical ointments and creams. 3 out of 10

Cardiospermum Halicacabum. I was skeptical when a pharmacist in Spain gave me this, as it had the dreaded "homeopathic" on the label. It's a non-moisturizing pomade with extracts of the cardiospermum plant. This works! I can't find it in Dublin, but you can get it online. Try it if you can get it. It's odourless, non-toxic and cheap. 8 out of 10

Swimming in a chlorinated pool. This, ladies and gentlemen, is the kryptonite for jock rash. Go for a swim, don't shower afterwards. By the next day you'll see that nasty rash dying before your very eyes. I did this last night (after 3 weeks of horrible rashes on my inner thighs) and it's almost gone now. 10 out of 10

Note - If it's a bit stubborn I will have a bleach bath tomorrow, putting half a cup (125ml) of un-perfumed thin household bleach (less than 5% sodium hypochlorite) in a full warm bath. Don't use any other soaps or shampoos or salts in the bleach bath. There's a handy guide on youtube (for treating kids' eczema) with input from a dematologist - check it out.

Apart from that, and to prevent reinfection, eat lots of garlic, avoid beer (booo!!! ) and carbs during flare ups, change your bedsheets regularly and underwear obviously. Put your socks on before your underwear - socks before jocks!

Don't get yourself down about jock rash, just go for a swim!

Anti diabetic medications are suppose to make it more difficult to heal it naturally. I don't have diabetes but there are enough anecdotal reports that diabetes 2 can be healed naturally. I agree about taking control of ones health.

To Joyce, Lansdowne, Pa.---- I whole heartedly agree with you. "if the disease does not kill you, the medicine sure will".

I did this a few years ago and did not use the glucometer anymore. Psychologically, I could not take it any more after a few years and bad experience with the doctor who told me nothing about self care but threatened amputation, etc. Since I had done yoga for most of my adult life, I had also studied traditional medicine (meaning herbal medicine and Ayurveda)) in my free time just for my education. So I know what to do. Metformin caused instant depression and fatigue lasting in sleep mode all day and night. That was a short interval made worse with insulin while for the first time in my life I gained weight rapidly and the dolt told me to control my diet when I had perfect weight all my life. He gave me hypertension, swollen ankles and a heavy body. Then I told him I would quit with that kind of medical attention and do my own thing. I am back to normal.

That was a few years ago. Study on EC and Green Med Info revealed that these medications for type 2 will kill the patient eventually. The findings are well explained and researched.

Kudos for taking up the courage and follow on your own. I go according to feeling and am doing well. It is a strange world: some people are not afraid to smoke but they are afraid to discontinue proven poisonous medications. Go figure.

Namaste, Om

I take 200mcg Chromium 2 or 3 times daily and a combination of Gymnema, Mulberry Leaf, and Cinnamon cap once daily to help burn the sugars. Cinnamon in particular is effective for burning sugar and killing fungus.

I was diagnosed with diabetes II in May 2014. My doctor wanted me to start taking Metformin. I told her I prefer to reverse it with diet and exercise. She was quite skeptical and told me that eventually I would have to take it. I went on a low carb diet with mild exercise that was just walking up two flights of stairs in my home twice a day for 10 to 15 minutes. I was not monitoring my blood sugar. I went back to the doctor early this month (September). My blood sugar was down 8 points and I lost 20 pounds. She was quite shocked and pleased. She asked me what I was doing and I told her. She said continue what you are doing, you don't need the Metformin. Sometimes you have to take control of your health and not wholly depend on healthcare professionals.

Whenever I (a Type II diabetic) go off-track and eat some refined flour/sugar, the fungus (or candida family) feasts on the higher blood-sugar + goes wild! Usually in the intestine, where it can result in gas/diareha (I was diagnosed with diverticulitis, "untreatable", but using anti-candida natural cure ended it! ) So, it appears that overdoing the consumption of white flour (which is the same as sugar when it reaches your bloodstream) can feed those fungi + cause outbreak of jock rash too. Eliminating that "overgrowth" of candida in the gut is as simple as getting a product from your health-food store, which contains black walnut hull and other ingredients (which can differ by mfg, including oregano oil). My YEA is for the "Candida Clear" product. So, while I am not endorsing any 'cure' (although I use alcohol by instinct, and apply raw shea butter, a natural anti-fungal), this information is just a sort of 'preventative' beyond the usual locker-room warnings.

P.S. I agree with earlier post about avoiding powder with corn starch, it will feed the fungus!

I feel compelled to post my cure for Jock Itch. There were two big oval red patches on the inner sides of each of my thighs. Everything I saw on the web pointed to Fungal Jock Itch. I suffered with it for the last 6 years and finally stumbled upon success a few months ago. I tried most everything here on earth clinic and many other sites as well as OTC medicines to no avail. This cure may not work for you, if it helps just one person this post will be worth it.

First off I had a long standing bout with this about 10 years ago. At that time I tried everything. As bad luck would have it (Or as far as Jock Itch is concerned Good Luck), in 2004 I was hit by a Stingray's Barb. I was admitted to the hospital for just one day and they treated me with high powered antibiotics to fight off possible infection. At the time I was battling a terrible flare up of Jock Itch. A strange thing happened after a couple of days after this antibiotic treatment. The "Jock Itch" dried up and began to flake away, it was gone at last. I enjoyed a few years Jock itch free.

Once again it came back after being with the same partner that I had been with many years earlier (about 10). I went to my doctor and he took one look and said, "Hmm, Jock Itch" and prescribed the normal ointments available OTC. After this did not work I was desperate and begin to search out on the web for answers. I tried everything, I mean everything. I remembered the antibiotics I had been given many years earlier. The antibiotics had an effect. I searched out the term "Bacterial Jock Itch" and the results I saw mirrored regular Fungal Jock Itch. This made a bell go off in my head that this must be what I am suffering from.

As luck would have it one of the first few pages I read suggested a time tested remedy, Whitfield's Ointment. This Ointment is not available from within the USA. I was able to find it in many other countries, however, that would ship to USA. I ordered one small jar, after 2 days I was Jock Itch Free. It has not returned in 4 months. It is labeled as an anti fungal and antibacterial ointment that contains benzoic acid and salicylic acid. It was a multi purpose skin cure from the late 1800's. Given what I know now I would have had a Dermatologist take a skin scraping to determine what was on my skin. I was amazed at how this gave me the relief I had searched for for so many years. Again I hope this helps just one person.

Dish Washing Liquid

I have been feeling self conscious about reporting this remedy. Because I myself find it so unconventional. But I thought that if it worked for me, it could work for many other people.

For a few weeks, my jock Itch was preventing me form a good night sleep. The itch would keep me awake. I started to check earthclinic remedies and was ready to try the ACV. But I did not do it right away. And then, I discovered another remedy by accident.

The way it happened was that one Sunday morning, I was going to take a shower before going to Church. But I found out that I had no soap. None whatsoever. I knew it, but had forgotten to buy more the day before.

I did not want to miss Church, but also I would feel very unease going to church having skipped shower. Then It came to mind a TV commercial (about a dishwashing liquid) that I used to watch as a little kid. The claim was that it was very effective cleaning dishes, but also so gentle on the hands, that certain beautician was using it to soak her clients hands into it before manicures.

As I remembered, I figured that if it was so kind on the hands, It would not hurt to use it only once to take a shower. And so I did. But because I had this Jock Itch problem, I made sure to apply a small amount of dishwashing liquid to my scrotum and all immediate areas. And just as I was applying and rubbing the area (with a small towel as is my custom when I shower), I could not help to notice an immediate relief.

That day, my itch did not bother me, and also during the night the itch was gone. Therefore, I decided to use it a few more days. But finally, since my whole body skin felt so clean and good after shower, I decided to make a switch. Now I use dishwashing liquid for my shower all the time. But have not told anybody so they won't think I am eccentric.

The specific liquid I use is Dawn Ultra Platinum. Again, It has worked for me, and itch was gone right after first usage, not to return again. But I know I'm not using this liquid for its intended purpose.

Hi Mahbabaji, Get some MMS (Master Mineral Solution) and use it for your jock itch. It cures athletes foot in one application, so it will surely take care of this too. Get Jim Humbles book, "Master Mineral Solution for the 3rd Millennium" It's available as a free download.

Re: Jock Itch

Rubbing alcohol (75% isopropyl alcohol) worked just great, but since moisture is BAD you may as well 99% isopropyl alcohol, if available. I used this with major burning during the first few days. Alcohol messes with your skin pH so I followed up with white vinegar. When dry, I followed this up with a 50/50 mix of emu oil (a natural carrier that actually penetrates the skin) with coconut oil (a natural antifungal agent). I did this treatment twice a day. Symptoms were gone in 8 days. I kept it up 30 days for good measure, though for the last 10-days I substituted tea tree oil for coconut oil - it's a stronger antifungal. Again, 50/50 tea tree and emu oils. No trace of this irritating nightmare remains.

Hi, this is rude and crude, but works.

First jockey itch is a fungus. It can come from Candida or the sweat from your fanny. I sweat and learned that if that sweat is absorbed and does not flow into my crotch then I do not have this problem so I daily pack my fanny with tissue. If I do have a problem, then I spray with Dr Tishnors Antiseptic. This formula evolved from a Louisiana doctor during the War Between the States. A great story that saved lots of lives.

I have had poor results using Big Pharma stuff, but I don't like those B______s! , so it may be a mental thing. And yes it burns.

Re: Rubbing Alcohol for Jock Itch.? Rubbing alcohol worked great! My doctor (who is excellent) suggested that Lamisil works best (out of all the topical creams). So I used the rubbing alcohol (on tissue paper squares) and then put the Lamisil on afterwards. Walmart sells a higher potion form of rubbing alcohol... and also sells a generic form of Lamisil that is a lot less expensive! Both worked great together! At first, none of the top brand topical creams worked for me whatsoever (except for only a little bit of change).

At first the rubbing alcohol stings for a minute or so... but after a few days... it's negligible! I now put on the rubbing alcohol (as a preventative) after daily showers... and a tiny amount of the Lamisil cream. I put the rubbing alcohol in a small medicine (vitamin) plastic container; I use only a new piece of tissue square each time I place it against the mouth of the container to soak it. Works great!!!! Goodby nasty itchy fungus among us!!!!!!!!! :)

Garlic Did It!

After a battle that goes back six years, if remember correctly, I found a way on this site to cure this infection. Store brand creams never worked for me, they would just get rid of the symptoms but never fully cure me. I wasted years of time spent and hundreds of dollars on clomitrozonale, tinactin, lotramin, gold bond, based on popular site searches until I found this website about a year or so ago; and the real healing began. I tried rubbing alcohol which was the same as those topical creams except more painful. Vinegar which I thought would work but my symptoms always returned. Lemon juice which actually made the area more itchy. Oregano Oil which was incredibly painful and ended scorching my skin. ( Eventually the area shed like a snake) Talc powder, soothing but not curing and finally I found a post that really resonated with me. A user said that we all actually like this infection, how relieving it feels to scratch it, how you just become comfortable with it being a part of you, you never truly understand it...It takes an outside as well as inside approach to this infection to kill TC.

If you have had it for a long time like me it is not only on your outer skin but it is inside you feeding on your blood stream as well. After learning this I followed suit. I changed my diet, no more soda, beer, and barely any carbs. Just meat (fish, chicken) and veggies. I ordered some quadriderm which is a popular centrifugal outside the U.S that has tolnaftate like "tough actin Tinactin" and the fungicidal gentamicin but it did not burn like Tinactin, in fact it was like rubbing lotion on the area. Finally, I minced up a clove of garlic and downed it (it did burn in my stomach for a couple moments but it is tolerable) and this began my most successful healing process to date. I would eat a clove every two or three days and apply the quadriderm everyday once in the morning. When I had TC I used to spray super hot water on the area and that was the most relieving feeling, the water could be so hot, much hotter than I could withstand anywhere else on my body but it was one of the most gratifying feelings I have ever experienced, almost as gratifying as knowing that I have possibly defeated the infection. I can no longer spray the area with scalding hot water now and have gone weeks without experiencing a significant itch. I just may have conquered my Jock Itch thanks to the inside outside approach. Quadriderm on the outside and Garlic for my insides.

I have had this nonsense come back year after year as soon as it gets 70 degrees or higher... and God knows it can get very hot in NY and with humidity that is off the chart. I ride a motorcycle, bicycle, work out at the gym 6x per week, but when it hits .... is causes such distress that I cease almost all activity until October when it cools down. I had become very self conscious about the condition, I didnt want to be intimate with my wife as I couldn't stand the friction or the heat. >:-( .

I tried everything for the past 20 years... and steroids kept it at bay, but it never stopped. I came across this site and read what others had tried. The one thing I hadn't done was the bleach diluted 60% water 40% bleach.

I showered as usual with my favorite soap and rinsed, then used the mixture. Within seconds of applying the itch stopped, I let it remain for about 1 min then rinsed thoroughly...if your skin feels overly slick, you need more rinsing., or you can dilute the solution even more.

Make sure you dry completely...can't believe how well I sleep now.

Use caution of course and common sense, don't mix bleach and soap at the same time. Good luck

BETTER BUT WITH SIDE EFFECTS

I used a drop of tea tree oil on my jock itch and I was really impressed. I felt a burn and an immediate change in the condition of the jock itch. As soon as I stopped feeling the burn I reapplied more tea tree oil. As a result, my jock itch is less severe but it's bigger than before. I would give it a YEA, BUT NOT CURED. OR YEA BUT MADE IT WORSE.

Lastly, I would advise anyone using this stuff to use it sparingly and just wait it out. That's what I'm doing now. Hopefully I'll get back to normal!

I had a recurring problem with jock itch in my inguinals for almost 20 years now esp. During my menstrual period. Even with proper hygiene, it didn't stop from bothering every now and then. I went to a dermatologist and I tried over the counter ointments like Quadriderm but it only gave me relief for as long as I apply it. I found out eventually that the STEROIDS present in those types of ointments were causing my skin to be ADDICTED to it as I buy tube after tube (for short relief) but once I stopped using the ointment, the jock itch came back to its original state. I came across this site a few years back since I wanted to try a cure and not a RELIEVER and preferably NATURAL this time. I first tried rubbing alcohol on the area but only experienced a burning sensation causing the area to have a watery discharge so I stopped. I tried applying raw garlic but also felt a burning sensation and eventually suffered a discoloration/patch on the area. I stopped and then tried an anti-dandruff shampoo, the effect was a cooling sensation but nothing really changed. I tried applying Apple Cider Vinegar diluted in water 3x daily and felt a relief however, I wasn't fond of the faint sour smell and the fact that I had to dry it out before I wear any underwear, the itch would never cease to irritate me even at night making it difficult for me to sleep. While I was trying out the aforementioned remedies, I also made sure that I cut down on sugary food and drinks since fungus apparently thrive on sugary diet. The soreness would stop for a short while only then I had to reapply the ACV which I find tedious and smelly. I was on the brink of hopelessness.

Finally, as one had suggested on this site, pure Virgin Coconut Oil... I bought an Extra Virgin Coconut Oil (EVCO), the one that has no preservatives and had not undergone any procedure, from the nearest organic store in our area. And instead of taking it as instructed, I applied the oil generously on the area 3x daily. It wasn't smelly like ACV and I noticed the oil soothed my skin and that I don't even have to dry it out. The soreness had lessened gradually esp. At night and being happy with the results, I continued dabbing it on the area and incredibly after 3 weeks, it was totally gone! The rough scaly patch of dark skin that was caused by the different remedies I've tried recently had turned smooth. I still continued to apply the EVCO even though the area was completely healed as I believe in the wonders of Coconut on our skin. Miraculously, I've been jock itch free ever since! The dark skin slowly lightened. I believe the healing process could have been faster if I had also taken 1 Tbsp of EVCO at the same time that I was externally applying it on the area. I also believe that even if the EVCO effect wasn't as immediate as the other natural remedies that some have claimed, EVCO certainly was working slowly but SURELY on my skin making sure the root cause of the fungus would be eradicated. It has been 6 months since I started using EVCO and now I am also taking a Tbsp. before meals to boost my immune system. I also use it as my face and body oil for moisturizing. I think it really helps to have patience in healing ourselves, healthy diet and trust that Mother Nature works best in healing us-even before pharmaceutical companies had ever come into existence. I share this great healing experience to those in dire need of hope just as I was before I found this site.

Shaving the Groin Area

Jock itch plagued me badly for a couple of years. I run, hike, bike and do a lot of outdoors, and the stuff seemed to be impossible to get rid of. I tried all the sprays, lotions, frequent showers, powders, constant underwear changes, etc. etc. Then, one morning in the shower, I noticed my wife's razor and thought---why not? I was pretty desperate. I decided to (carefully) shave off all the hair around my groin area--especially where the legs rub up against whatever. The itch disappeared in a couple of days. Now, I keep the hair fairly closely cropped, and I don't have a problem any more. Of course, I use my own razor now. So, I conclude that the kind of itch I had either hangs out in the groin hair itself, or that the groin hair retains moisture that enables the Jock Itch to survive.

Rubbing Alcohol to get rid of jock itch: I tried all the creams and sprays out there including the most popular jock itch remedies and even other home remedies I read about.

Then I tried the really easy to find and inexpensive 70% Isopropyl Rubbing Alcohol, and the itch went away in a matter of days and has never returned.

I experienced a two unexpected benefits too. One is it keeps you smelling fresh, even after sweating for hours and hours in a hot climate. I am now using it as deodorant too.

The other is I thought I had an anal fissure as I had pain and bleeding with each bowel movement. Apparently the rubbing alcohol applied to that area cleared that up to. Now I have no blood ever, and just slight discomfort sometimes.

If you have an itchy anal area it might be jock itch and the rubbing alcohol will get rid of it there too.

Regarding the safety of using it I read about tests where they applied hand sanitizer which is 60% alcohol 30 times per hour throughout the day and found almost no trace of it in the blood. This test was done because nurses use a lot of it throughout the day. Hand Sanitizer is like Rubbing Alcohol with some things thrown in to make it smell fresh and not dry out the skin.

I figure if they tested 30 times per hour and I was only applying it twice per day I was OK.

Regarding dry skin it is not drying out my skin, but I do live in a hot, moist climate.

Rubbing Alcohol

For Jock Itch, I used 70% Rubbing Alcohol several times the first two days, basically every couple of hours or so. Amazing results! The cotton rounds is the best way to apply. Just soak one and swab the entire area well. It does burn but subsides pretty quick, of course depending in your level of irritation. Now I follow this routine every day with Gold Bond or similar menthol medicated powder included.

Borax

Jock Itch: Buy a box of Borax (the old "20 Mule Team").

Fill an old pill container with the borax and store the rest of the box. A whole box of Borax will be enough to last many years.

After your shower, while the skin is still damp, dip a finger in the jar of Borax and dab it on the affected areas. If fungus is in the groin area, one finger dip per side. You need very very little of this stuff, a small pill bottle full lasts me months.

Fungus thrives in dark, damp high pH environments. The Borax is boric acid and applying this to the skin lowers the pH of the skin making it slightly acidic (the way skin should be) and inhospitable to the fungus.

Do this once a day after your shower and continue as an everyday routine. The athletes foot or jock itch will be gone in about two days. However, if you skip a couple of days it will come roaring back.

Garlic

The fact that wonderful garlic helped indicates you had or have a yeast infection.

Nystatin is an anti yeast product that is very effective against yeast infections. It came in power form when I last used it. Look it up on the internet to get its history.

Also topically "witch hazel" is very good.

But back to garlic, it is also super beneficial as an anti viral and it boosts the immune system. For a lingering cough, one of those that follow a cold and just keeps on tickling deep in the lungs, using two cloves of garlic raw, every day for a week is a cure used across the world.
