Don't eat chocolate when you have ovarian cysts. I have symptoms of PCOS. When I get pain where my ovaries are, which I assume are cysts, it's usually because I've eaten chocolate. If I take pills for balancing hormones the pain goes away within a day.

Tina: Raw organic fruit and home brewed water kefir made from artesian or spring water are the best alkyline waters. They contain kangan water that radiates far infrared waves. Artesian and spring water are good. Do not drink reverse osmosis water or filtered water from the treatment plant. These processes are not natural. Do not buy a water ionizer.

My name is Hawa from Makeni Sierra Leone. For the past two years, I've had excruciating period pains, pain in the hip, legs and severe abdominal pain before and during my menses, I also felt a huge bump in my stomach. I went to see a gyny and was diagnosed with huge fibroid and huge cysts. The Dr. wanted to immediately book me for surgery but I refused believing God that I will have a natural cure to my ailment. I started searching the internet and luckily came across this site on 22nd October 2013 and Immediately I started taking Baking Soda and Apple Cider Vinegar 3 times a day and behold, I have just had my first period after taking the concoction and I did not feel any pain. I even only noticed it when I went to use the ladies. I have also noticed that the bump I use to feel in my stomach is reducing. I have to go for another ultra sound on 22nd December 2013 and hope by the grace of God I would be completely free from this bondage. I want to say thank you to the person/s managing this web site and I want to say to every one that it is working for me.

I had Overian cyst last year and I got completely cured. The only thing I was taking Apple Cider Vinegar and Baking Soda first thing in the morning with empty stomach. I was taking 1/4 tea spoon baking soda and one spoon ACV. It took me almost 9months to complete cure of my overian cyst. I am still taking it couple of times a week to prevent my self. I changed my diet and doing excercise. You can also watch video on you tube for cancer cure they use baking soda. ACV and Baking Soda completely wash out your system or any other digestion problem from inside.
Good Luck.

Hi, I have 1 cyst measuring 7.8cm in my left ovary and 2 cysts measuring 4.3cm and 4.6cm in my right ovary. I have been taking beetroot, molasses and aloe vera 1st thing in the morning, once a day. I don't feel any changes in the sizes of the cysts so far. but within 3 days after taking this I felt good. I started feeling like increased blood count and it's circulation. and yes inceased energy level. within 6-7 days, pain in ovaries is gone. today is the 10th day of taking this tonic, I woke up at about 4.30am in the morning and am still awake until 11pm. energy level has increased. I have been having only vegetables, wholemeal bread and fish for the past 15 days. no sugar, no rice, no refined flour and no coffee. I have been taking vit B complex and vit C and drinking almost 3 litres of plain water per day, for the past 1 month.

My questions are - is it too early to expect changes in the cysts? I understand that I have to do this treatment for 40 days. at night I started to feel that, the cysts are softer. but by morning they become harder. do I need to change my diet? if I do castor oil pack, do I need to get cold pressed castor oil or normal castor oil will still help to shrink the cysts?

Hi Julie,

Well, I am so glad your cyst pain is improved, but very sorry that the menopause symptoms have increased!

I have used ACV and BSM for years and have never had it to cause me to skip cycles. For me, it only seemed to improve my cycles. (I am 46, for the record.) But, everyone is different, so I couldn't promise you that ACV and BSM are the cause.

Black Cohosh might be helpful to your increased menopause symptoms. It is good for hot flashes and night sweats.

Let us know how it goes with the Dr. appointment and if you find something to help your hot flashes. I hope you feel better soon.

BETTER BUT WITH SIDE EFFECTS

After learning of my having a small ovarian cyst (first one, I'm 45yrs old), I found a remedy to help shrink it. Apple cider vinegar and unsulphered black strap molassas 1 T each in hot water as a tea twice a day. I've been at it for at least 1 month. Since then the dull ache has gone. I feel great but the hot flashes/night sweats I've had over the past 8 months to a year have increased and now no period for the last 2 months. Has anyone ever found acv/molassas tea to cause a cessation of menstration ? Perhaps it's just my body doing it's thing regardless of the tea :) I go back to my doctor in a few weeks and will follow up on the cyst, but am curious if you think there could be a connection ?! ?! ? Thanks

Dear Ugobekee,

I am so sorry about the pain you are having with your cyst. You should keep up the Apple Cider Vinegar. You can also add 1 Tablesppon Blackstrap molasses daily. This is wonderful for pregnancy anyway. If I take Blackstrap daily when pregnant, I won't get anemic. And it is helpful for cysts. But it takes some time and you need some pain relief now.

I have had pain from ovarian cysts and have used Frankincense Essential Oil and Charcoal poultices to help the pain, and they did help me.

Frankincense Essential Oil is safe for pregnancy and is very helpful for ovarian pain and cysts.. Frankincense is not cheap--but a little goes a long way if you can get some. (Try to find it 100% oil and not diluted.) Massage 1-2 drops on the skin over the pained area. You can do this a few times a day.

Another thing you can do is try charcoal poultices. You can apply them overnight. If you go to the Activated Charcoal page on this website, you will find in the index, "How to Make a Charcoal Poultice." Charcoal Poultices reduce inflammation and also reduce cysts and help with pain. Make the poultices about 3inches by 3 inches. (The charocoal part. The towel you use may be 4-5 inches by 4-5 inches.) You do not want to make a really big poultice and you don't want it over the liver, as it would draw out toxins. That isn't a good idea when pregnant. But it you make them 3x3 and just put them over the ovary, you will not be putting the poultice over the liver area.

Please let us know how it goes!

In response to:

10/28/2010: Ew from Rockville, Md, Usa: "Ovarian Cyst Remedy - Alfalfa. Did not work. I'm writing about a possible remedy that I read elsewhere (someone supposedly had success with Premium Blended Alfalfa). The alfalfa would theoretically have worked by balancing the extra estrogen. Not only did I not get better, but I believe that the alfalfa may have caused the cyst to enlarge-- and I've been in horrible pain for the last 2 days. It may be possible that this remedy works for smaller cysts (?), but if in doubt, skip it. Hope that this experience helps someone out there."

I don't know a thing about the Alfalfa. I can share my personal circumstances, as I believe relate to ovarian cysts. I had several menstrual cycles where the pain I felt was greater than what I remember childbirth labor pains to have been. The last time I ended up at the hospital parking lot. The pain had finally subsided by the time we arrived in the middle of the night. I don't have insurance, so I opted to return home. I researched and found this site. Praise God! I needed help and couldn't afford it. I used Apple Cider Vinegar, which I purchased for cheap (less than $2.00)! I used Unsulfered Black Strap Molasses, which I found online for cheap ($9.58 for two 15 oz. Bottles)! I started using 7 days prior to my last cycle and I can tell you, I HAD NO PAIN during this cycle. I mixed 8 oz of warm water with 2 tablespoons of Apple Cider Vinegar and 1 tablespoon Unsulphered Black Strap Molasses. I drank it every evening before bed. It is not great, but the results were GREAT! Now, I do not know how long I should continue and could not find the answer on the net. I will continue taking through the next month and will let all know the outcome of my next cycle.

Thank you so much. Made some findings from other people that used this concotions. Was told that it could increase the pains in the first few weeks of taking it but will dissapear with time. I am still worried though. Maybe I will go do a scan to know what is happening inside of me cos the pains is much. Hot sensations in my abdomen.

Posted by Mama To Many (Tennessee, Usa) on 09/17/2013

Dear Priscy,

Do you have fever or bleeding or other symptoms?

I read some of the stories on the ovarian cyst page here at Earth Clinic and a lady named Bethany had a similar experience... You might read that first page of ovarian cysts to read her story.

I don't think the vinegar and molasses would cause a new problem. Perhaps they are causing things to happen too fast in your body. You might try taking a break from them both for a couple of days, then try one or the other and see how you respond.

Charcoal poultices have been used to treat both of your conditions sucessfully and might be helpful to you now while you are having worse symptoms. Charcoal is good at helping with pain and inflammation. If you can get some activate charcoal powder, you can make a poultice to place over your abdomen where you have pain. Charcoal must be wet to work. You would mix ith with water (or with flax seed and water) to make a paste. spread it on a paper towel and cover with another towel. Place on your abdomen and cover with plastic (to keep in the moisture. ) I would do this for an hour twice a day, and even overnight for several days. (To use it to cure cysts and fibroids, you might need to treat for many weeks.)

You can also take charcoal internally - 2 t. in a glass of water.

Try to drink plenty of water or herbal tea as dehydration will make the pain worse.

Please keep us posted on how you are doing. I will be praying for your relief.

I found out that I have bilateral ovarian cysts after getting a CT scan to see if kidney stones had returned. I researched online and began a whole foods diet with no sugars (other than what is found in fruits) and no white flour. I also began using iodine on my skin once in the morning and once at night as iodine deficiency was said on one sight to be a factor in cyst development. I also began drinking Echinacea tea two to three times daily as it is supposed to regulate hormones. Most importantly, I prayed, prayed, prayed that this would quickly be over! Today, one and a half weeks after my CT scan, I'm told that both cysts are shrinking significantly (by half or more). I'm praising God! :)

Question: Is it possible that carrot juice is making my ovarian cyst [aka tumor] bigger?

Starting on 08/04/2013, I began to live primarily on fresh vegetable juice that I make myself and a small amount of legumes [beans, lentils, tofu, and yuba]*. Initially, I started out with juicing 6 red beets, celery, and limes daily. Immediately I was encouraged by how I felt – besides more energy, I literally felt my giant ovarian contracting and softened. All of these feelings were short-lived; soon I felt my waist was expanding. I persisted and on 08/12/2013, I began adding 10-15 glasses of fresh carrot juice PLUS parsley and green apples while decreasing the numbers of beets to 2 – 3 daily. Yet, my ovarian cyst seemed to have hardened, and I felt bloated all the time. I am not giving up this routine, and a few days ago I began drinking apple cider vinegar (2 tablespoons), black strap molasses (1 tablespoon), and cayenne (. 25 to. 5 teaspoon) three times a day.

The fact of the matter is, according to my measuring tape, my waist increased from 33.5” to 35” since 08/04/2013.

What's going on? Am I just going through a phase [aka shock]?

*I have completely stopped taking all forms of sugar [except for green apples which Ted approves], salt, oil [except for small amount of coconut oil], dairy, meat, animal-proteins, gluten, flour, all the food banned by Ted.

Yes, Apple Cider Vinegar is safe during pregnancy. My last pregnancy I consumed it daily, a spash in every glass of water. (I actually like it better than plain water. ) It kept my heartburn away and kept me off all meds for that (which I had always needed in pregnancy before) and also kept my gall bladder from flaring up. I probably consumed 2 T. over the course of each day. Congratulations!

Hi. A year ago this website helped me with my own treatment regarding my large ovarian cyst. I had CONTINUOUS bleeding with large clots for 1. 5yrs... I persisted and believed holistic is the way to go.

I have to say IODINE is a miracle - truly God sent. You need to get iodine tablets and take atleast 50mg daily. Also I must say - selenium is the 2nd God sent when it comes to curing oc and acheiving hormonal balance.

It was found that when cats and bovine animals had cysts, they were given high doses of selenium and the cysts disappeared. I myself take 400mcg daily. Make sure when you order it is YEAST FREE selenium.

Take coconut oil, flax oil, borage oil daily as they will help with the inflammation that's present in your body. You can order plant based omega-3 tablets online or from health food store.

Stay AWAY from all dairy, soy, peanuts, corn, MEAT/ANIMAL products, eggs, fried or junk food. Slowly you will see your health back.

Also drink ACV BSM daily and lemon juice in warm water on empty stomach. This will help ur body get alkaline. Good luck!

Take the blackstrap molasses cure but make sure you take iodine tablets or lugol's iodine drops aswell. Take separately or together- with water. Change your diet to include more green leafy veg. Look at cures for liver and gall bladder issues. These issues often occur together- it's due to toxicity / over acid bodies/ constipation.

Have read all the 3 pages dedicated on ovarian cysts and I am glad for the people who have escaped the surgery and beaten this thing... And for those who have not please do not loose hope.. And I am negative in nature but I will make positive changes... And I will heal. God bless everyone who struggles with endometrosis and ovarian cysts... I am dealing with one...

Apple Cider Vinegar / Molasses for Ovarian Cysts- No one knows exactly why or how it works, but anecdotal evidence supports the use of apple cider vinegar to help shrink and dissolve ovarian cysts. According to Dr. John Christopher, a potassium deficiency may be the cause of cyst formation, and changing your eating habits to consume more potassium may be helpful. Apple cider vinegar is high in potassium, and this may be one of the reasons it is helpful in the treatment of ovarian cysts. Christopher recommends taking apple cider vinegar along with several other herbs such as burdock root, chaparral, cayenne, yellow dock, mullein and plantain.

The People's Pharmacy Guide to Home and Herbal Remedies also mentions use of apple cider vinegar for the treatment of cysts. Mix 1 to 2 tablespoons of vinegar with 1 tablespoon of black strap molasses and 8 ounces of warm water. Drink one or two glasses daily to help shrink the cyst. It may also help relieve stomach bloating associated with the cyst. Consult a natural health practitioner for additional guidelines concerning the use of apple cider vinegar.

Dietary Changes, Apple Cider Vinegar

I have had irregular cycle since last year and was diagnosed with a 3.5cm ovarian cyst 8 weeks ago. Doctor says to just watch and wait as cysts usually resolve on its own.

I made dietary changes by eliminating caffeine, dairy products, refined carbs and red meat. I occasionally indulge on bread and sweets but I always go back to whole food diet. I also take 1 Tablespoon of apple cider vinegar 1 teaspoon of unsulfured blackstrap molasses every morning on an empty stomach. I take multi vitamins everyday and evening primrose oil. I also do castor oil pack 2-3x a week.

In a nutshell, I aim to keep my body alkaline by choosing alkaline food and drinks. If I cheated on a day by eating meat or muffin, I compensate it by taking a cup of water baking soda or lemon juice (no sugar) to alkalize.

Today, my follow-up ultrasound showed I have no cyst, just a few follicles that are ignoreable. My period is still irregular but I hope that resolving the cyst will at least kickstart a more regular cycle. Hope this helps.

I feel compelled to post on this site as a way to say thank you to all that have shared what has worked for them. I have not come on this site in some time but found myself with a 2. 9cm hemorraghic cyst. I had all the symptoms of bloating, fullness, pain on side etc. I was very worried because I also want to start to TTC soon and having a cyst can complicate things. I started eating just a bit healthier, cutting down on sugar and junk food and just eating more green veggies, I'm also on prenatal vits. I read on here about the castor oil packs and decided to try it because I figured it couldn't hurt things. I made a simple pack by soaking a couple of cotton washcloths in castor oil and putting a heating pad over it. I left it on for about an hour or so. The next day I felt a bit better but not completely gone. I tried it again and left the heating pad for a longer amount but not more than 3 hours. Well the NEXT day I felt a slight burning sensation in my abdomen/stomach area and the symptoms slowly all went away, thank God!

I don't exactly know if it was the diet, vits, castor oil packs or the heat but I just know I feel all better now, and back to normal. My gyn says she was not worried about the cyst because they are normal and they come and go, and that might have been the case with this one too but I really think that the castor oil with heat is what truly made the biggest difference. I have read that one way of knowing that these types of cysts have actually dissolved is by the burning in the stomach which I definitely felt. My hopes in posting this is to help anyone that is looking for alternate ways to eliminate cysts.

To shrink my giant ovarian cyst, I started taking ACV (apple cider vinegar) & BSM (blackstrap molasses) on July 27th, 2012 by using the recipe from EarthClinic.

For over one year, I was taking megace to try to reverse my uterine cancer (stage one), which went back to being just endometrial-hyperplasia-atypical-complex (aka Just Barely Pre-cancerous). All my doctors wanted me to get a hysterectomy; hence, they all refused to prescribe megace for me. Hence, I had to buy without prescription. I spent over $1, 000 USD on megace [I gave up trying to convince my doctors.]

In July I ran out of funds and can no longer buy megace on my own. I noticed I was bleeding with some blood clumps, again. I knew any progress I made with megace was being pushed back because I wasn't taking megace anymore.

After taking ACV & BSM, I noticed I had less bleeding (and gained tons of energy! ) In late September 2012, I added Iodine (from Kelp) as an energy booster. I noticed that my bleeding stopped COMPLETELY (and my severe bleeding chapped lips healed! I had been visiting a dermotologist for this very problem for over 18 months.).

According to my latest pelvis ultrasound and uterine biopsy, ACV & BSM did not shrink my ovarian cyst but I am completely free of uterine-cancer! In fact, I am told I have no "hyperplasia or malignancy"!!!

What ACV, BSM, & Iodine did in a little over two months exceeds that of megace!! I CANNOT believe this!! I am sharing my account because I owe to all of you who so generously shared your challenges and triumphs.

If you have any clues why my ovarian cyst seems to have gotten bigger (21 x 11. 8 x 20. 4 cm), please post your answer -- so everyone can read it! THANK YOU!

Cynthia, I am in the same boat as you. My ovarian cyst did not shrink after two months of ACV & BSM. In fact, it seems to have grown (21 x 11.8 x 20.4 cm).

[However, ACV & BSM (& Iodine from Kelp) healed me of uterine cancer COMPLETELY.]

Hey, I just wanted to say thanks for sharing this remedy with us. I was diagnosed with a 3 cm ovarian cyst last month. The pain was un bearable and the only thing doctor gave me was pain killer tablets. I saw a remedy here and bought apple cider vinegar and blackstrap molasses both organic from bulk bar. Used them 1 tablespoon each with half cup of warm water twice a day for a month. I went for my follow up and cyst is gone.

Also I lost 5 kg just in one month. I lost my apetite and carvings for sugary food. Yeah I still have pain sometimes down in my vagina and intercourse is painful too. I want to try vinegar for one more month but worried that I might stop eating my luch just like now I dont feel very hungry at dinner time and always wanted a snack instead of proper dinner.

Hello I read about your cyst and being pg. I had appendicitis when I was a little less than 4 mo. pregnant. I also had worked in surgery-- passing instruments. I would say-- try not to be scared-- find a good surgeon to do the Procedure. I worked with them-- so I knew who would be fast (less time out (asleep) but of course be a good quick surgeon. I would NOT have it done Laproscopically-- even if they offered. Choose a do regular incision-- it should be small and low and that type of inscision will give the surgeon better exposure. It will make it easier to see what they need to see, do what he needs to do --but get In & Out quickly. AFTER surgery-- take as little as you can -- for pain relief since you are NOT yet 4 months. This will be the first of many sacrifices you will make for youth child! I had never had surgery-- So I made sure everyone knew how concerned I was--mostly for a healthy baby. For your own knowledge-- find out what is being formed during the week you're due to have surgery ie. eyes, hearing etc. To give you some incentive-- to avoid drugs as much as possible. Make sure you have someone with you who can remind everyone-- that your goal is a happy healthy baby. I told the floor nurse and my husband I wanted the least drugs possible. I did endure more (but tolerable) pain--but it was worth it 6 months latter-- when my daughter was born just fine. It has now been---years ago. Good Luck Mommy--You can do it! PG 4 months --would have been safer --but a ruptured appendix (or ovary in your case) would be far worse for everyone-- due to a possible infection, a rupture is messy to clean up and would mean more time "Asleep". Been There,

Pam M

Hi, I'm 5 weeks pregnant with 3cm cyst on right ovary. The OB told me that I need operation at third month of pregnancy, but I don't want to undergo operation while pregnant. It may put my baby at risk.

I want to try the ACV but afraid that if the cyst popped, the blood and fluid inside it will affect the baby. Is it safe for cyst to popped while your pregnant?Any advice? Thanks

It could be that you are having a cleansing reaction- sometimes called die off. There could be parisites or candida in your GI tract, just stick to a strict diet with very little sugar ect... Keep up the good work!
