B Vitamins, Omega-3s, Water

One of the best things to do is not wash your face daily. When I was in Nursing school I was the only one to get this question correct. God placed natural oil in our skin. It takes 24-48 hrs to replace it. Vitamin B, E, aloe vera and molasses are great! I never put soap on my face either. I have 8 grown children (My oldest is 42) No one believes me when I tell them my age. They guess me to be in my 40s or 50s. For gray hair SAGE and the B vitamins are the key. Fruits, veggies, no junk food. Omega 3 oils to keep the skin moist and lots of water drink at least 6 a day. I am not a water drinker but I divide the portions up. I take 2 morning, 2 mid-morning, 2 afternoon or evening .Keep your system ALKALINE with Apple Juice. Orange Juice is too full of Acid. An Alkaline system rids it of Toxins. An Oatmeal pack is great! Use Purified or Distilled water if possible or boil the water for 10 minutes if neither one is available.
Rhodiola and Vitamin E
Posted by Artemis (Bismarck, ND) on 02/19/2007
I started Rhodiola about a week ago for the "fountain of youth" benefit. When I added the Vitamine E, I experienced severe, nearly arthritic pain in joints and muscles. I have not experienced the improved sleep pattern, either. I plan to stop the herb a few days then restart on lower dosage.

I recently started taking rhodiola and vitamin E in the mornings and afternoons, and I've noticed a huge difference in my energy levels. My skin is more radiant, and I have a lot more energy than I used to. However, a word of caution -- two rhodiola capsules per day might be too much for some people. I noticed that after the afternoon dose I was feeling a little nervous, jittery, and restless, so now I take only one rhodiola capsule in the morning, and I take the vitamin E in the morning and afternoon, and it seems to work better for me. I'd highly recommend this remedy, but be careful with rhodiola if you're at all prone to nervousness and/or panic attacks.

Dear All, I was really looking for a remedy for open pores on face due to acne and when I browsed for remedies posted by Ted, I found that taking zinc acetate as one of the remedies. My skin and hair are not oily, they are more on the drier side but still I have immense hair loss. Also, I have pores on my face due to severe acne I had as a teenager. Also, I have been taking Rhodiola and Vitamin E for glowing skin which is working wonders. Do you still recommend me taking zinc acetate for shrinking my pores on the face? If so, should I stop taking Rhodiola and Vitamin E then? Please Let me know. Looking forward for your reply. Thanks, pinki
Foot and Calf Massage

I came across the comment about massaging your feet at night with coconut oil and decided to give it a try, while also using the coconut oil nightly on my face. I noticed straight away on the first morning after doing this that the coconut oil had dried and shrunk the few blemishes I had on my face. It had also left my skin feeling lovely and smooth. The dark circles under my eyes hadn't disappeared but I felt that they were a bit lighter. After the second night of this routine the circles seemed lighter again. On the third evening I was too tired to bother with massaging the oil into my feet, so I just used it on my face- the next morning when I woke up and looked in the mirror those dark circles had almost completely disappeared! Thank you so much for this wonderful site. It's already been more helpful than years worth of expensive creams, lotions and potions filled with nasty chemicals :-)
EC: Yep, we got lazy on the third night too.

re: Fountain of Youth Fomula feet massage. I've been taking cold showers for about 4 months now and I have always applied virgin coconut oil all over, after blotting myself dry. I love the softness of my skin using this oil.
I also had the dry flaky feet. The first thing I used for that condition was a product called Feet Relief. It cleared it up after the first application and that was great, but it's so expensive to keep buying, so I decided to try the coconut oil to see if it would keep my feet soft as it does on my body and it's been great. I have been using it the same as you all are saying here. I first massage it on, wait a few minutes for my skin to absorb the oil and put on clean white socks. Your remedy is right on. No more dry flaky feet on me. I love this oil! Since I read this post, I'm going to try the foot massage with the tennis ball. I can't wait to see how that feels. It does sound great. Thanks to everyone that posts for all the great ideas for a healthy life.
Kefir

I am using kefir (fermented drink) for a long time. I am making it by myself. From the country where I am coming (Macedonia) it is very a popular drink and considered very healthy. But also you can find it in the healthy stores. It helps with constipation, regenerates intestinal flora. It is very good for the skin. When you apply on the face before going to bed, after few days you will notice the results. Clean and more firm skin. Looking very youthful.
God, Cod Liver Oil, Garlic

This is not my personal remedy, but from a lady that is over 100 years old. She says she has lived so long because of her faith in God, 1 tsp of cod liver oil a day, and a clove of garlic swallowed whole a day. She said it must be swallowed whole so that you don't get the garlic smell in your mouth or skin. I haven't tried that part yet, but the cod liver oil makes me feel better.

Fountain of Youth I'm always being told I look younger than I am or I haven't changed over the years. I just met an old male friend at the funeral of his sister. He looked at me all dreamy eyed and said you haven't changed at all and shook his head. My daughter looked at this guy after he turned around and said, hmmm I can see he cares for you. He heard her and said yes, I still do. I don't think I stopped smiling that day. I know my friend would have to a chuckle out of that one. I moisturize, moisturize, moisturize and keep a very positive attitude. I'm serious if I meet negative people and can't lift them up, baby I'm gone, I don't have any time for negativity. I don't like these two words (I can't) Keep them out of your vocabulary and move on and do the things you want to do. I'm blessed with very good skin, but you can look young even with wrinkles as long as your attitude is vibrant and young. No one will notice the wrinkles, they notice the life in you. Give God all the glory and you will certainly have a wonderful story.

urine therapy is n.1 on my health list. i was desperatly ill, immune systems at zero level. It cured my body and mind.
n.2 is pure earth. which i use to help me tolerate pollution and chemical sensivity. i sniff earth to protect my airways and clean my face with earth after being exposed to chemicals: such as chemical sprays::deodrant pesticides herbacides..for pollen allergy it's fantastic. i experimented with earth after reading an article on workers in fields put earth in a hanky and sniffed it once in a while when bringing in the hay.
n.3 onion passed over nails and teeth ..whitens, cleans and strenghens...i got lovely nails now, they use to flake.
Used wet tea bags are excellent for hair and face..gives me a glowing light tan.
lemon lightens the hairs on face
vinegar a good deodarant
bicarbonate soda i use for cleaning and washing clothes,, but only in small amounts. for body use sparingly...as it is not great in big amounts.
Walking barefoot straightens the body and heals spine shoulder pains. I use no soaps or any bought beauty products.
I had acne..but urine therapy got rid of that. Experiment with anything natural. that is my advice.. thankyou for this page and all who gave tips.
Diet

I am often told that I look much younger than my age. My concern for skin care has led me for many decades to be certain that I get enough protein each day to repair and replenish. It seems to have paid off. I use the formula of one half of ideal weight as the no. of protein grams needed per average day. More protein is needed when ill or under stress. I think it was Adele Davis who wrote on this in the 1960's and I have found it an unfailing formulas for health-the youthful skin is an extra bonus. People say to me "you must have never in your life gone out in the sun" Yet I never avoid the sun purposefully and go about my daily errands with no worries. I do use a light sun screen of course.
Vitamin B Complex and Folic Acid

I just turned 60 and I still have my brown hair. I attribute this to taking B vitamins in a 50 mg. complex (50 mg. of each B vitamin in one capsule), and two or three 800 mcg. of folic acid tablets. The B vitamins are known to be a stress reliever. Remember the old saying how kids can give you gray hairs? It's true! Stress can make the gray come in! The B vitamins inositol and choline are important for the color of your hair. Did you know that some wool companies deliberately make their sheep deficient in these two B vitamins so that the wool will be much whiter?! Folic Acid also helps with hair growth and had been named after the word Folicule, meaning hair! Looking younger than your age and knowing that you didn't dye your hair to look younger makes people ask if you found the fountain of youth! Try the B vitamins and folic acid for at least 6 months and you make notice a great change!

I had been taking apple cider vinegar and then stopped for a while and have just started back. I put a little honey in with my water to make it taste better. I have so much energy when I take it on a regular basis. I can really tell the difference when I don't take it all the time, and people say my skin looks more healthy.

Apple Cider Vinegar

Apple Cider Vinegar has cured: varicose veins, weight lose, tendonitis, wrinkles. In April of 2005, I came across a booklet for ACV, at the time I was 50 years old I played sports in high school, a construction worker for 20 years and a mover for the last 15, so I have done a number on my body over the years. My daughter convinced me to start taking ACV... I have taken it everyday since! The health benefits have been many. The first thing I noticed was my hair and nail growth, doesn't seem like much but my hair was white and had no color, but was growing back in blonde! I thought that was amazing! Over all the years of abuse on my feet and ankles I had purple feet from the varicose veins, it really was a severe case, after two months of use my feet started to look clearer to me, but I wasn't sure so I started taking pictures....I now have NO varicose veins on my feet, legs or anything. In April of 2005 I was a size 38 pants, today I am a 32 pants. I have not done any extra exercise to achieve this, It simply melted the pounds away (I also have a six pack again). The ACV has given me a facelift, I do NOT look like I am 51! My wrinkles around my eyes have literally disappeared. My skin is tighter, firmer every where. I feel like a new man. Over the years while abusing my body in my everyday life (working) I developed new and painful body movements, aches where I never had before and eventually the Doc diagnosed me with tendonitis (really painful) in both of my shoulders, being a mover this isn't good for business, it really started hurting my paycheck (then I started the ACV). I really had not realized I stopped taking the naproxen the Dr. had prescribed until I went to see him for my physical. He asked me if I needed a new script, that's when I realized I used to live on those pills everyday and hadn't needed them once since I started taking the ACV, so I told the Dr. about the ACV he was awed, seeing the results for himself he decided to start taking it, in fact my Barber, Boss, Coworkers, Kids, Brothers and sister all now take it with health benefits of there own. I tell you I LOVE ACV it has changed my life and made me a new healthier man. I actually believe I have a long healthy life ahead. The recipe I use everyday is: 2 table spoons of ACV and 1 Tablespoon of honey. Add water to taste. I do this two times a day, everyday. Good luck to all in your journey to a healthier you!
