I use half 3% hydrogen peroxide and half water via nebulizer and mask, when I feel a cold or sinus infection coming on, or if I have an ear ache, which can often lead to a cold, or vice versa.

The technique I use is to breath shallow through the mouth for half the time, and shallow through the nose the other half. Now it can be irritating to the nose, so just cut back on that if need be. And every now and then take normal deep breaths without the nebulizer. But inhale the nebulizer mist for a total of five minutes. Do this three to four times a day until the symptoms subside, for me this often occured after the first day.

I don't recommend taking deep breaths of the nebulized hydrogen peroxide, as it can be very irritating and cause bronchospasm, so asthmatics, try this remedy at your own risk. You must be well hydrated and have a good cough mechanism to do this remedy, because the bronchial mucosa will swell with phlegm, and you need to have a good cough mechanism. If your cough if weak, or if you're asthmatic, perhaps you can limit yourself to only inhaling lightly only through the nose and focus on the sinuses.

You may cough up a lot of phlegm, and if the sinuses are involved, mucus may literally start pouring out of you. The phlegm may be foamy in appearance, which shows the action of the hydrogen peroxide.

I first tried this about seven years ago, used it for maybe four cold and flu seasons, and haven't had a cold or flu since.

Also, at the first sign of an earache, I get in the shower and wash my ears and rinse, then I tilt my head and pour a bit of plain white vinegar in the ear, then I kind of tug the lobe to get the vinegar down in there, then I stand there for a minute, then I rinse the ear, tilting the head the other way to get the water out. Then I do the other ear just the same. I repeat this two or three times. Then I do the whole process two or three times a day, or until the symptoms subside, which is often in a day or two. I used to get ear infections all the time that required antibiotics, but since starting this method eight years ago, I haven't had an earache episode that required antibiotics.

I keep a bottle of white vinegar in the shower, often putting a bit of vinegar in the ears as a prophylactic. White vinegar is also an excellent aftershave if you get bumps and pimples like do, the from splashing it on is exquisite.

After finding the info on inhaling H2O2 (thank you Bill Munro! ) I want to add this to my daily regimen.

My first question may seem stupid but I would rather be sure.

Is it important to inhale on an empty stomach? as with H2O2 ingestion. The thing is when I inhale (have tried only once) Im sure that some 3% H2O2 gets swallowed even tho I spit it out, so could that mean no food in the stomach would be best?

The 3% H2O2 really fizzes in my mouth, reacting with my saliva I guess - should I spit this out or swallow it?

Thanking you in advance.

I will post updates as I see results

Hi, I read through the thread on HPI. I'm a student in complementary and alternative medicine and I'm really interested in trying this method for healing. I could not actually find the "food grade" I did find a bottle for 99 cents that says it's 3% first aid antiseptic/oral debriding agent and it does not state whether it has stabilizers in it. I would just like to make sure I purchased the right kind before attempting to use it.

Thank you so much!

The minute I feel a cold coming on or any kind of sinus problem I lay on one side, put a drop (little bit) in my ear and lay there for a few minutes, longer if lots of crackling. I do the other ear same way and I swear I have not had any head cold or sinus infection in 5 years. I also started using saline nose spray at the end of the night if I have gone out of the house ( grocery store, bingo, senior center, people places). I use it like a stream to cleanse, not just spray and I also gargle with warm salt water same thing at end of night before bed. I read somewhere or heard it that it takes germs 3 days to propagate in your nose or throat so if ya keep them washed away, well so far so good. They also say do not put peroxide in yur ear if you have ever had a ruptured eardrum and also don't irrigate your nose if you already are plugged up.

I have COPD and my breathing is not the best as of late, but not on oxygen yet. Chest seems tighter than usual. Would like to try the peroxide but am a little apprehensive about it because I use Spiriva, Albuterol and sometimes Flovent. Not sure if I should stop the inhalers first or for how long before trying. Also heard when you use vinegar ya want to rinse your mouth well because it eats away at teeth enamel. I also have osteoarthritis and osteoporosis so not sure how any of those things effect bones.

Hydrogen Peroxide inhalation for COPD

Hello, My name is Maggie and I live in Massachusetts. I am writing because I finally decided to take a chance on inhaling hydrogen peroxide for my COPD. I have been sick every Winter since I was 26 (16 years). I have tried diet change, steroids, antibiotics, supplements (with some success) and every other alternative offered to me. I have used your website for other ailments, but thought this was a little crazy. However, I have been using this method for 3 weeks and have NEVER felt this good in the Winter. I have also stopped using my rescue inhaler (down from 6-7 times a day) and am not taking any medications. I will be personally sending an email to Bill Munro, who is now my hero. Just when I finally began to accept that I was going to be another statistic (surviving as many Winters as I could handle until my disease did me in, as it did my father), a miracle falls into my lap! I will do this treatment for the rest of my life and I will recommend it to EVERYONE who ever complains to me of bronchitis, asthma, or any other form of COPD. I would be happy to talk to anyone who has questions or needs to speak to a real person. They can email me any time at [email protected]. Thank you Earth Clinic and thank you Bill Munroe for giving me a chance to live my life, instead of biding my time!!!

Taking at least 1,000 mg vitamin C (sodium ascorbate) may be able to protect this. H2O2 neutralizes vitamin C and a vitamin D deficiency can cause hair color loss.

One part 35% food grade H2o2 and 11 parts of distiled water will give you the 3% H2o2. I've been using it for months orally, inhaled in the ears, etc. I love it have not gotten the flu in months and am feeling more and more energetic, though energy levels have come back gradually.

Duke- I spend about 7 months a year in CR, I understand how difficult it can be to find what you are looking for. There are a few MacroBiotic retailers in San Jose that may be able to help with Natural Products. Perhaps a better option is 35% food grade H202 is also used for sprouting plants and can be used for swimming pool servicing. If I were you I would check out the viveros there- the plant nurseries. Where abouts do you live in CR? There are many of these viveros through out the country. Something else to consider is mould and the effects on your lungs... I know that it is a constant battle for me to keep the mould at bay where I live because it is humid and close to the ocean. Good Luck!

Hi- I live in Costa Rica and have a lung infection which nearly killed me 5 yrs prior- I returned to Florida USA and my lungs cleared up to the point that I no longer fell asleep during a conversation or while stopped at red lights while driving- however I am constantly tired and now ( returned to Costa rica) I am re-infected ( flare up?) I am extremely tired and dizzy- I went to emergency room here and was diagnosed with lung infection and prescribed antibiotics( dont know the name of infection) however after reading this post I want to try adding 3% peroxide to C-Pap machine and I am starting to inhale 3% diluted- to spray bottle. The 1st night I tried inhaling- I couldn't get to sleep ( a very rare thing) so I thought it was working- I am currently inhaling 3% diluted- label says ( in spanish)3 grams hydrogen peroxide and vehiculo csp 100 ml- anyone have experience with adding to C-pap machine and anyone know where to buy more potent peroxide in CR?

Hi--
I'm sorry to hear that you are ill and hope that you find something that works for you. If you have not read about Lysine, I would certainly recommend reading into and trying it because it is cheap and effective for viruses. Supposedly, Bronchitis is caused by a viral illness something like 90% of the time, with the remaining 10% made up of bacterial infections. Lysine costs about $6, and though there are varying brands and thus varying levels of effectiveness, I've always found that I have responded no matter the type of brand-- though I do agree with a friend of mine that some brands are better than others (right now I'm favoring the Orange and purple major brand label but there are certainly others that are good. )

What I've found for my viral infections is to follow the 5 gram protocol of a gram of lysine taken with a gram of aspirin once an hour every hour for five hours straight. Then you take a couple grams of lysine twice a day to mop up the remaining crud. I just wrote about this a few days ago so I'm sorry for the double post, but last week my boyfriend started coming down with the symptoms that always preceded coming down with bronchitis. I flooded him with lysine, which at around 25-30 grams in a 24 hour period gave him diarrhea, but he was still happy with having diarrhea for a few days if it didn't mean having bronchitis for weeks to months! Anyway, check it out. Lysine hasn't had any contra-indications for me thus far with my supplements, but as always, do your research. I love lysine best as an anti-viral and find it cheaper than other options (like oil of oregano), less stinky (like garlic), and with no taste (I have a hard time getting coconut oil down. )
Good Luck!

I'm 39 yrs old, I'm a smoker for approx 20 yrs... Ive recently slowed to 1/2 a pk a day. Ive been having a slight shortness of breath for a couple of weeks.... I broke and dislocated my ankle in 1998, ever since then I've had a problem with water retention. Lately even with elevation and Apple Cider Vinegar (2 tsp in 16ozs of water) the swelling never goes down. I have a history of low blood pressure so I can't really take water pills. I recently became more short of breath (yesterday) went to the ER and was discharged with bronchitis, I was prescribed the Z pack antibiotics, alupent inhaler and 20gm of prednisone.... I took the Z pack, I couldn't afford the alupent and I I heard horror stories of prednisone.

I'm reading these different post and really considering the HP therapy but am afraid.. My bottle says nothing about "food grade formula"... It does say 3%, USP, inactive ingredient is purified water and also states it assist in the removal of phlegm, mucus or other secretions associated with sore mouth. I don't know if that is the right kind of HP I should be using in a nebulizer. I would feel better trying kelp as you have suggested... How do I buy it? in pill form? liquid form? how is it taken? how often? How soon will I feel a difference? any side effects? thanks

In my opinion, colloidal silver is toxic. Our bodies were never meant to have one mineral consumed in such huge quantities. Just like iodine, or any other mineral, if you use a single mineral in such large quantities, then you can expect to get sick eventually. It's always better to get your minerals from a food source in a balanced, complete form. Kelp is a much better way to gain health and keep it, and what's great about kelp is that it will never overdose you or allow you to get out of balance. It will always improve your health and never take away from it. When you take any mineral as a single source, the body has no choice but to absorb it, throwing it out of balance. When you get your minerals from a food source, then you receive all your minerals in a safe form that will allow your body to pick and choose which minerals it needs to absorb them easily. If your body is at a saturation point in a particular mineral then the body will just let that particular mineral go through the body easily. When you force your body to absorb and absorb and absorb a particular mineral then the body eventually will get out of wack and you will be sick, guaranteed.

I suggest you try kelp and another great source of minerals without the iodine is Redstar flake yeast. Both of these sources are amazing and will only add to your health, and never take away from it. Laminaria digitata is an excellent form of kelp that I take daily and you can take a cup a day, even more and never get an overdose. I always buy in bulk as it saves a lot of money and then I never worry about using the product. Good luck. Sue

Hi Sashalani,
I have used colloidal silver for 15 years in a nebuliser for asthma and COPD and as a preventative when I have an upset stomach or a cold. My children and grandchildren use it for the same things. I have drunk anything up to half a litre a day with no side effects or problems whatsoever. I used it frequently when I was living in malaysia to cure "Delhi Belly. "
I use the strongest strength which I make myself. However there some important things to remember when using colloidal silver. It must be made only using distilled water. Water that is not distilled will make silver nitrate - that is what causes skin to turn blue, it will make you very sick if you use it in a nebuliser. Colloidal silver should be clear when its made. If its cloudy throw it out, the water has salts and or minerals in it. Colloidal silver must be kept in the dark and well away from any electrical sources. Hope this helps, Marlane ellis

WARNING!

I totally agree. I tried inhaling colloidal silver several times for asthma relief and each time was a nightmare. The last time was particularly scary because it brought on the worst asthma attack I have ever had... Infact I almost passed out due to lack of oxygen. Although colloidal silver is a great anti-bacterial, anti-fungal, anti-viral great caution should be used if you decide to inhale it.

Where to Find Nasal Pumps
Posted by Ron (Great Falls, Mt) on 11/04/2010

People that are using the nasal pump method - I would suggest to ask your doctor (or pharmacist) for a 'spacer' this is a plastic cylinder that one typically attaches a portable inhaler to. But for this purpose, you would spray the mist into the cylinder, then inhale the mist. The whole idea being that with the spacer, more of the mist will travel down into your lungs, rather than collect at the back of your throat. In Lieu of using a spacer, you could hold the sprayer *away* from your face and pump a few times into the open air, and then breath in (through your mouth) from the cloud-mist that you just sprayed. Just a thought. I've had many a nurse or technician say (for using an inhaler) that you *are not* supposed to put it directly in your mouth, exactly because the medicine ends up coating the back of your throat, instead of going into your lungs where it is intended.

For years and years every cold I got fell into my chest and I often ended up with broncitis several times a year. I have been nebulizing h2o2 for the past 4 years as soon as I feel a sore throat and haven't had the stuff get into my lungs yet. I gave a friend a nebulizer who suffered worse than me from things getting into her chest and she was reluctant to try it until it had started in her chest--she called back 2 days later to say the h2o2 had stopped the cold in its tracks---it is very important to spray early and often when you first feel an onset. 4 or5 breaths at a time 4 or 5 times a day usually does it.

The simplest way to make a 3% is use, 1 cup 35% to 11 cups of distilled water. That is 1 part 35 percent to ll parts water in any measurement will make 3 percent it is a ratio. Just make sure the water and peroxide are measured in same size container.

Definite "yea" still using cvs brand 3% diluted 50-50 only 2whiffs twice a day--lungs have basically cleared out , no more technicoloured cr_p, white to clear, easily "expectorated", small amounts --will continue as a "maintenance" as well--Thank you for this website and the info and to all that participate-!

Hi--I said I would get back in a week--but whooooa-! I'm using the 3% diluted 50-50 with water/2 sprays/ twice in the evening--around 8PM then 1am,
Started on Monday evening--
What I expected the peroxide to do, it most certainly did, bringing to mind the past when bronchaid/over-the counter tablets would literally have the congestion running out of your bronchials---
Of course the wheezing increased, all that gunk and ^rap loosened and making its way up and out-
I will state I skipped it yesterday but will continue every other day with that mixture, and let you know how it goes-
_________________________
Something dawned on me here about others fearful of some kind of nicotine "dump" due to the release of all this mucus--
I don't think we store or accumulate the nicotine component of tobacco... then why would we feel the need for a smoke---isn't nicotine water soluble and passes through after a period of time ???? any pharmacologists, etc out here ?
Know the "tar" could accumulate--

OK--got it. It doesn't.

I just took 2 "whiffs" of the cvs brand 3% HP that was diluted to half strength--I will repeat this at bedtime-
I confess to being a heavy smoker with chronic bronchitis and not maintained on any prescriptives or any inhalors..... Will use garlic/fresh lemon juice or garlic/ACV if I feel the "need" to-when the congestion gets "heavy"/fever, this stuff works to break it up and you will cough it up and out- And am now aware of chronic fatigue type of tiredness and a very deep congestion, esp on the lower on the right side, and wheezing-....... So here I am! And will increase the number of sprays and inhalations and strength of this solution but will continue to use the 3% chain store brand the same as Mr Munro does himself- and I will write back God willing in one week's time to let you know what's up--

But you know what ? I truly EXPECT an improvement-- as others have posted... The HP supplies 0xygen and anybody that ever flushed out an infected area knows how it busts up pus etc and will do the exact same thing on pockets of pure phlegm, mucus plugs etc--and you simply cough all the misery out.

I have already bought the nasal spray pump and hydrogen peroxide from a pharmacy as used by Mr. Bill Munro in You Tube but the label on the H2O2 bottle says:

"Solution 6% (20 Volume)
Contains: Hydrogen Peroxide 6% w/v
Preservative: Benzoic Acid 0. 01% w/v."

Is this equivalent to a 3% H2O2? Is it safe for me to use this as an oral spray?

I read somewhere exactly what you are saying. One drop of 35% food grade peroxide is equal to 10 and 1/2 drops 3%Hydrogen Peroxide form the pharmacy. So if you want to dilute the 35% to 3% you add 10 and 1/2 of water. One tsp of 35% food grade 10 and 1/2 tsp of distilled water makes a 3% food grade peroxide. For one cup of 35% food grade you will need 10 and 1/2 cups of distilled water... And so on.. I think you are right.

Colds, Flu, Viruses
Posted by Gabi (Tweed Shire, Nsw Australia) on 09/27/2010

As far as getting dilutions right, 35% is 10 and a half times stronger than 3%, so you can add 10 and a half times more water to it and it will be now a 3% solution. So 10 and a half teaspoons of water mixed with one teaspoon of 35% HP makes it into 3% HP. If you want larger quantities, use cups instead, just stick to the 10 and a half parts, whatever the size, of water to 1 part of 35% HP. I think the maths is right..... Anyone ?

Tried inhaling hydrogen proxide 3% 5 squirts through my nose, I felt good and was able to breath freely and slept like a baby but when I woke up the next morning my nose were bleeding really fresh blood was coming out through my nose and hacking some blood. Is this normal? I got so scared that I have to stop inhaling it. I was a smoker for 30 years. I want to continue inhaling it but very concern about the bleeding. Can u tell me if this is normal?

EC: Hi Tina,

Hydrogen peroxide inhalation is done through the mouth, not up the nose! Please read the instructions at the top of the H202 inhalation page and watch Bill Munro's video on YouTube.

Note: We do have a few testimonials in the sinus infection section about spraying 3% hydrogen peroxide up the nostrils.

I thought I submitted a post, tho I was unsure a few days ago. Might I have gotten emails on it? It was a question. In response to your post, I am wondering if you can give any advice on spraying my cat's tumor in his mouth (very large & vet today said probably squamous cell) covering much of the back of his throat. I tried 2 drops 35% h2o2 in 3 oz distilled water with a small atomizer gives out a nice mist 4 times to this tumor. This is the first time. I also have had him on Sovereign Silver, but switched today to Mesosilver, finding lab analysis shows this has true silver particles fine enough to attack disease most efficiently. You said you have had several cancer cures. I am desperate to help my Jordan cat. I came home yesterday from church to find him very snotty nosed The vet said the tumor is probably affecting his tonsils and sinuses. A bit of blood comes out of his nostrils. Eating is becoming more difficult. I was unsure of allowing her to give him a steroid shot or not, using the h2o2 therapy, as I have been giving it orally 6cc 2xday 2 drops to 5oz distilled water. There seem to be so many different ideas about giving to animals, I have no idea what is strong enough to be effective or if I should keep going up a drop a day in solution as they do with people. Sorry, I know this is not the pet section, but I was intrigued about what you said about cancer cures.
