Organic BlackStrap Molasses

37 years old, have been plagued with oily, cloggable skin my entire adult life, antibiotics make me feel sick so I won't take them. Within 2 hours of first tbl spoon I percieved changing skin (flushed, drier) within 2 days (4 Tbls)no new acne and quickly healing. I think I can go without any makeup already! IS AMAZING!!

Dear Sandy,
Often herbs and foods have a normalizing effect. So, Blackstrap helped someone with oily skin, but it doesn't necessarily mean it will make dry skin worse. For examle Cayenne pepper is good to help bleeding stop, but it also can help to increase circulation.
I have had only good results myself when using Blackstrap for a variety of things in my family.
Have you tried Castor Oil for your dry skin? I use it at night on my face and love it. One of my sons has very dry hands and it works for him, too. Drinking plenty of water will help to keep cells hydrated, also.

I have suffered from anemia for almost 20 years and I have taken iron supplements and changed my diet so that I can overcome this anemia. I have also had many tests done to try to find out the source. I recently found out about the Gluten and have removed gluten from my diet. I also read about mollases and its many great benefits and take 1 tablespoon daily. My energy has more than doubled with these two changes in my diet and my periods are not as long and as painful! I have a feeling that the gluten has been robbing my body of its nutrition and adding the mollases has helping my body recover! I am so grateful to have found out about this product and this website!

I have been anemic all of my life. I was born with it. After a recent blood test revealed my level being at 9 points, my physician insisted on having me eat an iron fortified cereal each day. When I suggested black strap molasses, he laughed and said it would only make me sick. I decided to go with BSM after reading up on it's nutrients. Nothing against cereal, but I'm not a big cereal eater. After taking in 2 tablespoons of BSM for a month, my level went from 9 points to 11. I stopped feeling tired, having rapid heart beats, and slept better. Oh and another benefit to this? Lighter period and less cramping. My doctor could not believe that BSM raised my level. To note: I used unsulphered BSM.

Drinking atleast 3 cups of African Red tea, commonly called Rooibos is not only beneficial to your immune system but it also helps your skin stay clear. Also applying blackstrap molasses every night for about an hour after washing your face helps smooth your skin and gives you a glow due to all the vitamins and minerals it contains, and don't forget to take atleast 2 tbspns of it daily to keep regular. I like to put it in my red tea or in some warm almond milk along with some coconut oil, yum yum! Hope this helps all of you.

I've been taking blackstrap molasses for a week now and thank goodness I've been getting 3 bowel movements a day!! I have a hard time getting bowel movements partially cause of the foods that I eat but I am working on it. Also, my father has the same issues. Also, my face is glowing and I've gotten a couple of comments and how good my skin looks! I hope it doesn't stop working for me.

Hello everyone, I hope you're all taking your BSM religiously. I have been taking it for the last 4 months and sometimes I mix it with ACV. I'm happy to announce that my nails and skin are looking very healthy. My nails have not been that bad but I have seen such a great improvement; they're not breaking or chipping like they used to before. They're growing very strongly and there're no white spots on them anymore. I read from the BSM book by Cyril Scott that BSM gets rid of the black spots and that's when I realised that they were gone. People are complimenting me on my skin, even men! I started taking BSM for something else but it seems to be doing a lot more. This stuff really works! V

I just turned 41 & have started feeling the grips of hormonal changes along with having a history of huge fibroids. I had 5 lbs of fibroids removed last yr in a robotic surgery that went terrifically & preserved my fertility :) I still want to have children & decided to take a natural, active involvement in my health. I have always worked out religiously since I was 15 so I've been in great shape & been able to tolerate the pain of those fibroids. But at age 41 I was finding that I no longer could run on the junk food that I liked to eat & was lacking energy along with not having a normal cycle. I wanted so much to have a normal cycle without the complications of a birth control pill. ACV gave me that :) But I was also dealing with more heart palpitations that I just couldn't control with my diet & vitamin taking. Yesterday, it was really getting in my way of life so I ran out & got the molasses. And I'm so happy to report that it made those nasty heart palpitations go away, gave me energy to go play tennis that evening ( in fact, I was burning the court with my energetic plays) & is helping my chronic constipation. Molasses Feedback
I've been taking molasses (about 1TBl/day split into 2 cups of green tea -- with a lot of milk... I don't really like the taste of this stuff LOL) for nearly 3 months now as an experiment. I originally tried it to see what would happen with the good ol' monthly (mom's peri-menopausal and occassionally bleeds longer than she should so I tested this on me) and here's what I've come up with.
I still have gray hair. In fact some of the hair near my temples is just plain ol' white. And apparently if L'Oreal can't fix it, neither can molasses. That's okay. Apparently 38 isn't considered premature graying ;-)
My periods are lighter. Kelp and molasses together seem to be an excellent combination to keep things at a dull roar. I've gone from a good 5 days of heavy flow with 2 days of annoyance added on, to about 1 1/2 days of heavier flow and 3 1/2 days of super light flow. So I've dropped about 2 days and I'm saving money on products left and right.
But the BIG one for me has been the surprising lack of joint pain. I was taking it for about 2 weeks before I realized that my left ankle, which I broke in beautiful ways about 2 1/2 years ago, was no longer stiff when I woke up, and I could now move it in the same ways that I can move my unviolated right ankle. I can even jog again without feeling every jarring impact on that ankle. For that reason alone I will continue torturing myself with the (blech) taste of this stuff on a twice daily basis.
Another strange, yet welcome, side-effect has been my fingernails. Normally, I only have fingernails this strong and happy in the middle of summer with high amounts of sunshine and a Biotin supplement -- even when I supplement with Vit. D in the winter months it's just not the same. I haven't taken my biotin supplement since I started the molasses, though I do keep up with the Vit. D and I have to actively work to break these things.
And for the joint thing, I've turned others onto this miracle syrup in a bottle and they've reported back with the same thing -- when they take it daily, they can tell a significant difference and when they forget they feel it. So for that alone, I'd say it's worth a shot.

I had serious swelling of ankles ,feet & legs. And all doctors could suggest is poor ciculation and one way valves in leg not working properly and would have to wear pressure socks for the rest of my life but I was not willing for this and kept earching and tryinng all sorts of natural things but when finally I went back to black strap molasses which I used to take for nose bleeding & cured that and after some time of use I ran out of it & forgot to replace it and got swlling problems but never connected it to molasses but after 2 yrs for some reason tried molasses again and after some time I noticed something , less swelling to happen and gradually dissapearednd not even swelled during the day anymore and so must be the molasses that played a part in circulation for me in my legs and so will continue taking it for this is a much better cure than wearing pressure socks whch did not go to fix the problem anyways. I too found Molasses an instant treatment for my heart problem. Every night my heart has a delayed beat (confirmed with overnight monitor) but doctor gave me no treatment beyond giving up caffiene. While that helps, it doesn't totally eliminate it and I admit no caffiene is difficult for me.
After the first day of 2 Tbls Molasses, I sleep through the night with no problems. And this is such a relief as it really is extremely scarey to awaken to no heart beat, over and over and over.
Dental Numbing

I am a 69 year old male and I have had difficult or almost impossible experiences in becoming numb for dental work such as fillings. This has been larger problem during the last 20 years. So bad that I unfortunately needed to go home without the dental work ever being accomplished because the injections would not take affect. Please know, that I have a very experienced and super good dentist. Sometimes, after multiple Xylocaine injections and waiting for over an hour, I would unfortunately need to go home without the procedure even being started because I could not get numb! Nonetheless, I would always need to wait an hour or longer before I would finally become at least somewhat numb. I seldom would ever get fully numb to the point of being comfortable.
All of that changed, however. Because of all of the Magnesium, manganese, calcium and iron contained in black molasses, I began consuming about two tablespoons of the black molasses starting three hours prior to my dental appointments.
I mix one teaspoon of molasses into an 10 ounce cup of hot water and drink as in drinking warm tea. I drink a total of four cups of the molasses mix (one teaspoon of molasses per each cup of water) during the three hours prior and then proceed to the dentist. At that point, I have two full tablespoons worth of black molasses in my system.
Then, usually 20-30 minutes after my Xylocaine injections, I become fully numb and experience no pain at all. What a relief! I do not claim any particular knowledge as to why this technique works so well. Perhaps the extra hydration helps and perhaps all of the extra mineral consumption helps to cause the gum tissue to function better? I do not claim to understand the science. And perhaps it is simply my imagination? I suspect t hat it mostly involves the added minerals.
I told my dentist about my process but he had no comment except to say, “if it works that is a good thing”! And so I will always use the black molasses prior to Xylocaine injections by the dentist.

Jules, personally, I took a Tablespoon twice a day, at the beginning. Later I tapered down to a Tablespoon once a day, and now, for maintenance, I take it once or twice a week.

Try squeezing fresh lemon juice (half or whole) with your blackstrap and a hint of cayenne red pepper. I use this everyday with other ingredients such as; turmeric, apple cider vinegar, black pepper and honey (optional). Love this drink. I do this every morning before eating or drinking anything else.

Molasses also helped my depression. 1 TB per day. I always try to "fix" my health problems with natural things. I have tried sooo many things through the years for different health concerns and most of the time I didn't notice any difference. I started the molasses and I believe I felt better the first day. Constipation

My father is 87 and suffers from Parkinsons. He started having severe constipation problems as a result of intestinal muscles just not working. The doctors prescribed packets of chemical laxatives which marginally worked. He had to keep increasing these packets to a max of 7 packets. The expense was huge with many side-effects. On a follow up exam he asked if there was any alternative to help with the expense. The doctor recommended that he try black strap molasses. He incorporated 2 tablespoons a day and immediately was able to reduce the laxatives. Within 2 weeks and since he takes 0 laxatives and just the two tablespoons of Black Strap. He feels so much better and of course his mental state has improved greatly due to the relief that he nows has. He is not constipated at all and is just doing great. On that recommedation my elderly aunt, who has had constipation problems for years, tried the same remedy and had similar results. the doctor said he heard about this cure from his grandmother and figured it was worth a try.

This is g8 stuff .I had a big problem with carpal syndrome some nights i could not sleep cause of the pain. Searched on the internet for any ideas came across this site and read reviews. Next day brought some BSM (Black Strap Molasses). Took a tablespoon before i ate every morning and another before i slept. After a few days the pain in my arm was not so severe. Within a month the pain disappeared.Also my husband noticed that i had lost weight. Maybe this was due to taking bsm (black strap molasses) . i continued to take it and in 6 months i have lost 3 stone. I think the bsm stopped my craving for sugar and also i didn't feel hungry.So overall, a wonderful medicine with loads of vitamins and minerals. recommend it to anyone.feel g8, hair is shiny. nails strong and skin glowing. This would be g8 for someone who is pregnant as it has calcium and iron in it.

I have diabetes and have been taking blackstrap molasses since Dec 7. It is too soon to say that it has affected by sugar levels., I think it has. What it has done is provided me with so much more energy, I am so grateful to again have energy to do things that I like and even don't like. I was so tired I didn't even wash my dishes on a daily basis, I wash them, I garden, I don't take long daytime naps. My sugar cravings have been reduced, I recommend everyone take some, even just a little a day
