Fibroids

Thank you all for posting this news about unsulphured BSM. I've had fibroids growing inside me for over ten years, and now they are of multiple kinds too. My womb has grown to about 14 cm, which I was told by my gynecologist a week ago is the size of a 12-week pregnancy. My periods had turned into debilitating 2-day avalanches filled with large clots, followed by about 3 days of mostly whitish stuff. I wake up in the morning sometimes with a large bulge on my stomach, a result of a full bladder being pressed out by an enlarged womb. Seeing as I am 39 and still want to have a baby, a fertility doctor told me I should have a myomectomy right away. That is a very invasive surgery, and I will avoid it at all costs. A previous ob-gyn for years only told me we "would keep monitoring" the fibroids and never gave me any info on treating them with anything. Meanwhile the fibroids kept growing. "Let me know if/when you periods get heavy." They eventually did, I told her, and the answer was "we'll keep monitoring them." Not one doctor I've been to has made any connections between iron-deficiency and fibroids (or perhaps the potassium too has a role to play) or between fibers & carotenoids (found in beets and carrots) and fibroids (look this up online). What do these people go to med school for?

Anyway, I was at once very skeptical and very hopeful when I read the major positive claims made on this site about UBSM, but I opt for natural remedies & solutions whenever possible. This was about 3 months ago now. To my great surprise and even greater joy, the results were immediate and excellent. I bought a bottle of unsulphured BSM at a health store (20% DV of iron, 15% of calcium, 10% of magnesium, 500 mg of potassium) on February 20, ONE day before my period. I have been taking 2 table spoons a day since then (though I confess some days I've forgotten the second spoon). Instead of the 2-day giant-clot-ridden horror of the previous year or so, I had a largely regular, 5-day period, with only a couple of very small clots. I felt less pain and had more energy. I was in utter disbelief at this very immediate result. I kept taking it to see if the same thing would happen the following month, and the answer is yes! Wow--thank god for mother nature and the people who know how it can benefit us--you all who have shared this wonderful remedy with me and many other women suffering from this problem--a painful problem that affects our work productivity as well as our fertility. (I feel I'm doing a commercial for this thing... that's what I felt about the other people who posted here when I first found this site, skeptical and cynical that I am... :-) )

Another apparent result, which I am in the midst of experiencing, is the return of my regular 28-day cycle. Recently, before the UBSM, my periods had started shrinking to 26 days. I am two days late, though there are signs of imminent arrival :-) and no, I am not pregnant, unless the Holy Ghost has paid a visit.

My greatest hope of course is that the fibroids will also shrink, as some people here and in other sites have claimed has happened to them after they started taking UBSM. I will report back when I have my next ultrasound, or perhaps an MRI, which I read elsewhere are more accurate. I will also start loading up on those beets and carrots, both of which I love anyway.

Incidentally, for those who ask how to take the molasses and complained about the taste: honestly, if you have a problem like this, you will take it straight in a spoon and say you loved it a thousand times. In any event, this is a sweet liquid--not your usual sweet, but rather a powerfully bittersweet taste, the kind our grandmothers, who probably didn't have fibroids, were used to. You can use it in your coffee, tea, and spread on toast (my three usual ways). You can put it on fruit as a dessert. You can put it in a smoothie. Think of it as your sugar from now on--that is, if you want to regulate your periods (and possibly, hopefully, all fingers crossed, shrink your fibroids). I wouldn't recommend the one spoon in a glass of water thing, especially if you don't like the taste of it--why prolong it? Sometimes I drink some water *after* taking my spoonful--that way you wash off the taste quickly. I do like the taste, actually, but of course anything you have every single day can get old quickly.

As for the elimination of gray hair that some people claim also results from regular consumption of UBSM, I don't know if I am imagining things, but I have the impression it is helping with that too, though of course it is too soon to tell for sure. It is definitely not my main goal or concern, but I certainly won't mind it if it is indeed a side-effect!

I hope to report good news on the fibroids in due course. THANK YOU ALL again for posting this information--I wish I had looked up natural cures for fibroids sooner! Good luck to everyone.

Side effects- If someone is not getting the results they are looking for, we need to remember what is good for one is not for another all the time? Some need to take smaller doses, not as often, or in another form. We are all different and God created so many different foods and herbs to help us. Don't give up!

I have just bought my first bottle of Black Strap Molasses and have been researching the comments. There was a concern that BSM will deplete Vit B3. I have had a good look at my Unsulphered BSM and it shows to contain 4mg Vit B3 (Niacin) so I am confident that it is actually a source of this vitamin.

My 22 month old was diagnosed as being anemic because of low iron count last month his iron count was 10pts the average is 12pts or higher. We had already been giving him high iron food and a vitamin with iron in it and nothing would bring the count up. The pediatrician gave us an iron drop supplement to give him, i didnt feel comfortable giving it to him because of all the side effects. Someone told me to try black strap molasses because it was high in iron. So i gave it a try and in 3 weeks his iron count went from 10pts to 14pts!!! We just gave it to him in his soymilk bottle.

I have suffered from anemia for almost 20 years and I have taken iron supplements and changed my diet so that I can overcome this anemia. I have also had many tests done to try to find out the source. I recently found out about the Gluten and have removed gluten from my diet. I also read about mollases and its many great benefits and take 1 tablespoon daily. My energy has more than doubled with these two changes in my diet and my periods are not as long and as painful! I have a feeling that the gluten has been robbing my body of its nutrition and adding the mollases has helping my body recover! I am so grateful to have found out about this product and this website!

I'm in the same boat as Cindy from Monroe, WI. I don't know why but ever since I started taking BSM (1 Tablespoon in the morning) it seems to be having the exact opposite influence on me than what it's stated to help with. This is my 7th day taking it.

I've been taking ACV (1 tblsp. 3x a day with a cup of water) for 3 weeks now and DE (Diatomaceous Earth)for 2 weeks and things seem to be going pretty well until I added the BSM. I've suffered from constipation, bloating, anxiety, heart palpitations and so on :( It's such an awful feeling to be constipated and bloated...yuck! So while I was on just the ACV and DE its helped a lot. I don't really get bloated and when I been going to the bathroom 1-3 x a day. And when I went to the bathroom I would feel lighter and emptied out for the most part.

Now ever since I've incorporated the BSM into my routine it hasn't had the same effect on me as it has on most people here and I would like to keep taking it because of all the health benefits it seems to have. By taking this I thought I would be going to the bathroom more and releasing like crazy. Unfortnately that hasn't happenned. I still do go to the bathroom at least 2x a day but it just doesn't feel the same. It feels like I have to struggle more kind of and when I do release it's not as much as before when I wasn't taking it. I don't feel as light after going to the bathroom...kind of still a little full and slightly bloated.

It also seems to have made my heart palpitations more noticeable and I feel this throughout the day from just taking the BSM in the morning. So I think the BSM has given me more or less some anxiety, constipation & heart palpitations...WHATS UP WITH THAT!! :(

I've taking the BSM a couple of ways and don't really care for any of them...I've taking it straight followed with some water, mixed it in a cup of cold water, put it in my cereal and have also poured it over my cooked oatmeal.

I really don't want to stop taking the BSM(especially if it helps with stopping your hair go gray...not that I really have that problem now but later on down the road..I'm in my early thirties) so if anyone can help with any suggestions I would greatly appreciate it.

Maybe I should put the 1 Tablsp. of BSm in some boiling/hot water maybe that would help some how...how I don't know but maybe it will. Or maybe I should take like 2 teaspoons in the morning and 1 teaspoon in the afternoon(3 teaspoons = 1 tablespoon as far as I know).

Thanks to whomever read this mess that I wrote and for any help :)

I would like to tell you for 7 years we have been trying to find a cure for our daughter Natalie with chronic ulcerative colitis, she was just about to have her colon removed when a friend told us about black strap molasses. Within a week of taking 1 teaspoon daily she has been in complete remission and said she has never felt better am so grateful. I have been taking it too and have found a big improvement in my well being and nervous system. regards Judy Harrison

Blackstrap Molasses CURED my anemia. Pain is better with menstrual cycles/fibroids. Heart palpitations stopped altogether. Decreased excessive blood loss during cycle within 24 hours. I use 3 Tbs daily in a smoothie, without fail. 1 week before cycle I start taking 4 Tbs daily in smoothie and continue until cycle stops. I have more energy and focus.

My smoothie:
banana, frozen blueberries (anti-oxidant), 3-4 Tbs organic Blackstrap Molasses, spirulina, green edge powder, 1 Tbs Udo's efa oil, ground Tbs goji berries/ Tbs raw cacao, 3 Tbs Maca powder, sometimes an apricot or peach.

Tasty, BSM makes it deliciously sweet, can't taste the spirulina although the drink IS green!. It is very fulfilling and energizing.

If you have candida or parasites it may make you bloat. If this happens you can take 3 clove caps, 3 wormwood caps and 10 drops of black walnut- it will kill them and you can continue enjoying your morning drink.

BTW: I learned about BSM from this very website. I thank you with all of my heart.

Cancer

Yes, the exact measurments are MOST important, and I think this is why some people reporting to you of their problem with blackstrap molasses is that they use too much molasses and too little water. Blackstrap Molasses has CURED many cases of cancer, some of the "incurable" terminal cases.

In the book by Cyril Scott, "Crude Black Molasses" many cases of curing cancer are reported. All followed the exact manner of taking the molasses which is not recommended for anyone with diabetes. The method for curing cancer is one teaspoonful in a cup of hot water: then cold water should be added "so as to make two-thirds of a cupful." This to be taken at one's convenience at any time; persons with deicate stomachs should take a smaller dose of molasses more often throughout the day."

For severe cases such as for cancerous growth, molasses should be taken last thing at night and on rising as well as during the day."

Do not drink it too hot, and drink it lesisurely not in big gulps. It is more easily assimilated in hot water; (bladder troubles have occurred simply after drinking drafts of cold water when one is overheated.) As reported, even terminal cases after surgery for cancer have been cured by this method of
taking blackstrap molasses ( one teaspoon bsm, mixed with some hot water, then adding cold water making 2/3 a cup, drinking leisurely many times a day.)

I started taking BSM and ACV for leg/foot cramps. A friend said that years ago her father was advised to use this remedy and that it not only got rid of his cramps but turned his full head of gray hair blonde again. I've been doing it for about a month and find both to be improving. But I take a Tbs of the BSM off the spoon in the morning followed by about 1-2 tsp of ACV in a little water. Is there some more effective method I should be using?

in reply to Cindy from Monroe, Cindy... Im sorry youve not benefited from the BSM but perhaps try it with a nice large glass of hot or cold milk or soya milk, not grape juice. This seems to be the way to go.

I have been reading all these testimonies and I just don't have the same experiences as you guys. I didn't have a problem with constipation before I took bsm but it did give me terrible stomach aches. I mixed 1 tablespoon of bsm in a small 4oz glass of 100% grape juice and it made me irregular. I had to quit drinking this because of my stomach aches. Has anyone else had this problem.

Haven't found anything on this yet, but if sorghum and corn are closely related it is possible, I guess. At least heavy corn consumption is listed is one of the causes of B3 deficiency. It seems that alcoholism is one of the major causes. Wonder if that is because a lot of booze is made from corn or because the alcoholic usually drinks too many of his calories instead of eating nutritious foods

You mean that Molasses induce a B3 deficiency? Is this true EC?

EC: Blackstrap Molasses is said to be a good source of B Vitamins, so we're not sure. Conflicting reports on the net re: molasses and lupus. We could not find anything about it causing a B3 deficiency.

I have always done oil pulling 1st thing in the AM and everything that I have read, suggests that the best and strongest oil pull will be first thing, before you drink anything and/or even brush your teeth. If you can't do it at that time, at least do it when convenient (it's better than not at all).

I kept getting breakouts on my chin and around my mouth. I somehow stumbled onto blackstrap molasses. I take two tablespoons a day (in Stash's double spice chai tea- really good) and it really seems to help. No new breakouts. Just the fading red marks from the old ones. I pretty certain it's the molasses because I stopped taking it for about a month while I was on vacation and the acne came back within a week.

I also did some research- blackstrap contains copper which helps skin repair itself and a bit of zinc which when taken consistently has the effect of an antibiotic/anti-acne prescription. Just make sure you get the right ratio of zinc and copper- they block the absorption of each other and can cause an imbalance.

BSM, oil pulling and honey and cinnamon for weight loss all say to do 1st thing in the morning. Since you don't eat the oil, I have been oil pulling 1st, so I am more interested to know how important 1st thing in the morning is to BSM or the honey and cinnamon. Please let me know if I am in error in doing oil pulling 1st thing.

ok - this sucks. i had just started taking molasses and i thought i was onto something wonderful. i actually craved it - and i am diabetic so i never even took an entire tablespoon at once - but even on doses as small as one teaspoon once per day my blood sugar skyrocketed. now this doesn't make sense because there is only 10-14 grams of sugar in one tablespoon - so one teaspoon would be like 4 grams which is nothing in the scheme of things. well, my body didn't react well. i even got diahrreah and abdomen pains and very high blood sugar.... and i still feel weird today even though i haven't taken it since yesterday. magnesium is supposed to lower blood sugar i thought. what is going on? any ideas? could it be the iron? how could this be too big a dose for me? i was also taking epsom salts 1/2 teaspoon a day and soaking in epsom salt baths which i still do - i have however discontinued the oral epsom salts. could it be too much magnesium?

my tree of life brand has 10 per tablespoon of magnesium - which seems like not much.

ok - i am amazed. after reading about molasses here and remembering my great grandma feeding it to us on biscuits; i knew i HAD to have some and ASAP. well, i got some yesterday and immediately tasted it when i got in the car. i could barely restrain myself from drinking the whole bottle. i positively NEED this stuff. why was i NOT using it before? how had i forgot? weird. already i feel better. i have only had about 1 tablespoon since i got it - but my long time constipation is already better today! originally i got it with the idea to feed it to my pet rat sookie who just isn't thriving. she shows NO interest in it really - but for me i can tell i need it. btw - i am diabetic and was (B-12) anemic when i was younger.
