The only thing that I have tried that has worked is Habanero Peppers. I have gargled with Apple Cider Vinegar, but I will try it again after eating to see if it works.

Aloe Vera

I found that drinking a half cup of aloe vera juice mixed with apple or white grape juice in the morning relieved symptoms dramatically. I occasionally get symptoms if I over indulge spices or greasy foods!

SEEMS THIS MIGHT BE THE RIGHT REMEDY FOR ACID REFLUX. I AM NOT DOING AS MUCH BELCHING AS I DID BEFORE. HOW LONG WOULD IT TAKE TO COMPLETLY CURE ME?

I'have had acid reflux for a long time I been taking the pills such as Nexium and Prevacid but it makes my stomach bloated and gives me diarrhea. I have been currently taking Raw honey and 100% aloe vera juice and it has healed my problem with acid reflux.

Just having a spoon or 2 of raw honey every time the burning starts and just before you go bed seems to work for me but eating everything slowly and not drinking coffee alcohol (dunno spelling) or soda and always follow a meal with a glass of water and if it goes away which it did for me u can resume your normal diet and if the reflux comes back just go back to doing all of these and you should be fine.

I tried the ACV with baking soda remedy. Didn't do me much good. What I have found helps more than anything is a teaspoon of raw honey after each meal and before bed. And drinking LOTS of water.

Betaine Hydrochloride

I took Betaine Hydrochloride which is basically stomach acid ingredients in pill form to add acid back to my stomach (which I was lacking apparently). I had been on Prilosec, Prevacid, etc. for a VERY long time. I was starting to suffer from the side effects; when I stumbled onto this site. I tried the Apple Cider Vinegar at first and it worked great (which told me I lacked acid in my stomach). I hated the taste of it though and wanted something I wouldn't have to force myself to take. So; I read remedy #5 and decided to try it. I went to the health food store and described what I wanted and they went and got it right away. I've been trying it for the past two days now and my stomach has been great!!!! I give a big YEA to the Betaine Hydrochloride.. it works!

If apple cider vinegar cures acid reflux then you do not have enough acid. An acid supplement like Betaine Hydrochloride can work wonders. It did for me. I lived on acid reducers until I figured it out. Quick test take a teaspoon of baking soda on empty stomach. A good belch with normal stomach acid should occur in 2-3 minutes. Mine took 15-16 minutes. Goodbye to Nexium/Prevacid etc.

Lemonade. It works. I tried it. I told it to my mom and she tried it. It worked for her, too. I told it to my hubby. He tried it and it worked for him, too. So, it is it. I am not imagining it. It is REAL. I did not find it here, but in my earlier research on the web. Drink lemonade.

this web site is a life saver for all people suffering from acid indigestion. In 80% of cases, THE CAUSE IS LOW ACID LEVELS IN THE Stomach. I find lemonade is the cure. I CANNOT THANK YOU ENOUGH

Lemon juice worked for my husband. He takes a small swig of it in the morning and he feels great the rest of the day. He said he hasn't felt this good in a long time.

I stumbled upon a consistent treatment for recurrent reflux a year ago when I experienced my first kidney stone attack. My urologist recommended I drink lemonade to prevent future stone development. Well, a wonderful secondary result has been that I no longer experience reflux attacks, which were common in the evening after bedtime - especially when I had eaten later at night. I now tell anyone who will listen what a difference lemonade can make in a life. Apparently (you chemists will know more about this), the body reacts to the citric acid in lemonade to produce an increased alkaline reaction, which sounds paradoxical. I drink lemonade with my meals at home and buy bottled lemonade at convenience stores instead of carbonated drinks when I travel.

Pears

One night after being awaken by a throat full of "acid", I decided to try eating a pear to cool down my burning throat and discovered that eating just a few bits, I know longer felt any burning or pain.

Dietary Changes

I had been wheat-free for 7 months and my gas, acid-reflux and psoriasis went away. When you are on a wheat-free diet, it can cause other problems like constipation if you do not watch your fiber intake. I am now off the wheat-free diet and all has returned. I will be going back on the wheat-free diet ASAP.
