My grandmother has always told us that her mother used to rub the slime of a European black slug on her warts and she used that remedy on us too when we were little.I remember one particular nasty one on my finger that gave me a lot of grief over autumn, winter and spring and I couldn't wait for the first warm summer rains for the little gastropods to reappear. I don't recall how long it took for the warts to die as that was the last thing on an 8 year old's mind but die they did and quickly too.
Unfortunately we don't live in Europe anymore but every time I go and visit I rub one all over my hands and fingers.
It works, somehow.
