Hi! I have been dealing with BV for years now. It's awful. I tried everything and nothing seemed to work. I recently decided to not use tampons and only use cotton pads through a period and miraculously the BV seemed to disappear. I have also been eating yogurt daily and taking a probiotic for safe measure. I just had my period again and did not use them this time either. We will see what happens. I have my fingers crossed!!

Kefir, Oregano Oil

Cure BV with Kefir. Plain Kefir has more probiotics than anything you can buy in a pill. Drink it in the morning before your meal and at night before you go to bed. Make suppositories with Kefir and a drop of oil of oregano at night for 7 days to kill the bacteria and restore the friendly bacteria all at once. (mix the oil of oregano with the keifer and store it in the freezer). Break off a piece at night and insert it. (only use a drop of oil or it may be too irritating) Buy sulfate free, and a propylene glycol free body products. Follow a ph balanced diet, and avoid sugar when you can. Add peroxide to your final rinse with your laundry to kill bacteria that may still linger in these items. Avoid tampons. Make kefir a part of your every day drink and it will not return.

I know this post is over five years old, but Manuka honey is the best natural antibiotic honey there is. The good stuff can be a bit pricey, but so are doctors and poisonous medications.

Go to whole foods or a store that sells refrigerated pro biotics and get rueteri. You must take about 85 billion cultures a day, not dangerous and it will keep it at bay, but you will have to keep taking them. Takes two days to kick in. Sorry Im in the same boat.

Wow your story was very funny but very sad at the same time. You may be vitamin D dufficient . Have you also tried the Goldenseal root capsules. Insert 1 at night vaginally? Take High Potency Vitamin D3. Drink lots of Alkaline or PH Water with Lemon. Stay away from Sugar including sodas helps a lot as well

Hi ladies, I discovered I had BV after my Femring started turning brown and had a horrible sour odor... I called the company and they told me I had a defective ring and replaced it. The new ring started doing the same thing and I thought, this has to be me and not the ring.

My BV infection was mild, but I'll share what worked for me..

Empty and rinse a disposible douche. Add 1 drop of Tea Tree oil, 1/2 of the contents of a garlic capsule, and 1 TBSP. Of 3% hydrogen peroxide - found in the first aid section of the store. Fill with warm water and douche in the morning.

At night take the contents of 1 probiotic capsule and add 1-2 drops of water to make a paste. Instert the paste with your finger before bed. It is not necessary to get it all in there.

Repeat these steps for 5 -7 days depending on how severe the infection is.

The Tea Tree oil and garlic kill the bad bacteria, the hydrogen peroxide balances your ph levels, and the probiotic feeds the good bacteria.

The douche can be used as a maintenance measure and I do it once every 3 months when I change my femring. If you are still getting your periods you may want to do it after your cycle ends.

BV free for over a year! Good Luck to all.

Hello Everyone, I am a pretty healthy 26 year old female who used to suffer from BV for quite some time and tried just about everything recommended on this forum. I used to have an Mirena IUD for a year before I started having BV. After trying several over the counter and prescription treatments and having returning systems, I decided to have my IUD removed after another 8 months. After the removal I was still having persistent BV and it was really affecting my sex life and emotional state with my husband. I was blaming him for cheating and started to become paranoid about my hygiene; washing more than necessary and the stress I was putting myself through would make the symptoms worse.

Then 4 months after my IUD removal I found out I had not only BV but also HSV-2 (genital herpes); my husband doesn't have it; I had contracted it from one of my past partners which I beat myself up about for some time. We are both faithful to each other and him seeing me like this made him start researching with me supplements and home remedies I could start using that would help me with outbreaks because the prescriptions were not working at all. He also started to wash himself with hypoallergenic soap before we would have sex and got a prescription of Tinidazole just in case he had BV and was re-infecting me.

Another of my solutions was holistic counseling; for me and my husband but it was more for me because my level of stress and it really helped me in taking back control over my life. I also workout more, at least 2 times a week but aim for 3.

As for supplements, which have been just as beneficial as counseling and exercise, I found on several forums for herpes that people were using Super Lysine for their outbreaks and it was working better than the prescription pills. I started taking Super Lysine, the ___ Women's Energy Multivitamin, and an extra 1000mg of B-12 every day and have not suffered from BV or another Herpes outbreak for the past 8 months. This has been a major improvement for me because I was having outbreaks sometimes twice a month and it would always be before my menstrual cycle. You can buy Super Lysine online or I have found it in Whole Foods and Wegmans, but if you can't find it buy 1000 mg L-Lysine separate with Echinacea-Golden Seal Complex; this mix works just the same as the Super Lysine. When I first started taking Super Lysine I would take the recommended dose of 1500mg (3pill/day) and add in another 2000mg of L-Lysine a day; the extra Lysine was for the herpes.

Recently my sister was suffering from an intense BV outbreak and I had her take 1000 mg of L-Lysine once that morning and then for lunch and by the afternoon she was feeling back to her normal self except for it making her go to the bathroom. She doesn't have more than one bowel movent a day if that, so she felt like the Lysine gave her the runs but it was really cleaning the toxins out of her body. Please go research Lysine for yourself you will be happy with what you find out about it!

I have tried almost every remedy on this website, food grade H2O2 with liquid Acidophilus works for a while but when I would run out my BV would come back immediately, so I now only drink liquid Acidophilus for helping me with digestion issues and when I have acid reflux. I had been trying so many different supplements and remedies for s few months that I ended up throwing away several products that I did not see results with after a month of using them. I also stopped eating meat; I consume fish and daily.

Lastly if my solutions do not help you or if you have found something else that provides you some relief, keep searching and trying to find what works the best for you. There is a solution to here just like with all our problems; and please stop stressing it will not only cause you to keep having BV but it will cause you to lose control of what's most important, and that is yourself!

I have stoped using tampons & started using pads!!!!! I drink plenty of water and I don't eat as much white bread, which is hard not to eat bagels with cream cheese but I do eat in it moderation. I watch my sugars & fried foods. I used to get them monthly for no reason, I was even told I was too clean during a visit to my GYN?? I stopped getting the (Metro/Flagyl) medication from the health department & went to a different facility to filled my Rx. My last and final time the pills were newer & fresher if that makes any sense.

Have you tried oregano oil? About 4 months ago I had never even heard of bv, I went to the obgyn because I was having irregular periods out of nowhere (I'm 23 and I've never been more than 2 days late/early since I started at 14 & have never been on BC) along with pain in my hip & painful intercourse. I thought I had picked something up somehow at first but after the doc ran a few tests the only thing she could find wrong was that I had a "mild" case of bv. The antibiotics she gave me took care of the smell after a few days, but the pain while having sex lasted until after I took the last dose. A few months later I noticed the smell would come back temporarily after intercourse (my husband and I are trying to get pregnant so using a condom is kind of out of the question at the moment). The last month it had gotten progressively worse. I didn't want to go back to the doc again because I didn't feel that the antibiotics had worked very well to begin with & it would have been a waste of money didn't have. I had read about tea tree oil, which I've used before for other things (mostly as an antiseptic & for acne) but it's such a strong oil I was afraid to try using it in such a sensitive area. I noticed you had said it didn't work for you. Anyway, sorry this is taking so long, a few weeks back I had had an unrelated problem with atheletes foot and had tried using the tea tree oil (which would usually have worked for me) with no success. My mother had a small bottle of oregano oil she told me to try (one of the natural med docs she sees gave it to her as an anti-fungal/bacterial). I was surprised when it actually worked for my feet when the tea tree oil wouldn't. Anyway, I saw oregano oil mentioned on another forum for bv & decided to try it. I've been using it only few days (just a few drops on my fingers & well... A couple times a day) and the smell has already gone away, my CM is still a little too cloudy but I'm hoping that clears up ad well. Just forewarning if you try this, I did experience a mild burning sensation around the outside folds when applying the oil, I think this may be because I shave though not an adverse reaction since warm water stopped any burning within a minute or two. Good luck finding something that works for you hope this helps!

Hello, I could not help but feel empathy for you as I have also experienced extreme bv for several years. It was so pervasive that I thought I had to live with it for the rest of my life. I also became very drepressed bc it negatively affected my marriage, my self confidence and tested my sanity, at times. I was desperate for help. I tried both prescriptions and natural oral acidophilus remedies to no avail. However, one night in desperation, I began to research natural antibacterial agents. I found that lemon essential oil was a natural antibacterial, antiviral and antidepressant. So, I bought a bottle of organic liquid acidophilus culture, and put about a teaspoon in a small dish. Then, I added 5 drops of lemon essential oil, 1 drop of lavender essential oil and 1 drop of tea tree oil. I mixed it all up and just rubbed it directly onto my entire vulva and inside my vagina with a finger. I did this for 3 nights strait and the idor was gone aftet the first application. Now, I do it 2 to 3 nights per week just to help nurture my good flora down there. Please give this a try. You will not be disappointed and it is possible to love your vag again.

I have suffered from BV for almost 3 years. It is affecting my sexual relationship with my boyfriend and making me a nervous wreck, always wondering if other people can smell me. This past week I came across this amazing website and offered trial and error solutions.

I am now on day 3 of the H202 and water douche combo, alongside taking Acidophilus, Folic Acid, Vitamins B6/12, and Vitamin D3. Things seem to be working. For the first time of not having to take the embarrassing prescription from my GP, the smell is gone. But I'm having one question...

Im currently on Nuvaring. I have not taken it out when doing the douches. Does anyone know if the Hydrogen Peroxide will damage the Nuvaring. And will it lesson the Pregnance protection (less effective)? Has anyone ever had this question or shares in the same experience with the Nuvaring?

Thank you for saving my sanity! Kate

Vitamin D

I've used vitamin D3 50,000 IU capsules 3x a week orally with great benefit, but no relief from BV. As such, I found a study that showed benefit for using the capsules as a suppository for dysplasia, HPV, and BV. I've begun doing this and after one dose, I am 50% better. I mixed in a 00 capsule the powder from a 50,000 IU Vitamin D3 and from a Lactobacillus acidophilus capsule and used coconut oil on the outside for inserting. For resistant BV, dysplasia, or HPV, it is worth a shot!

Read this, http://scienceindex.com/stories/1563216/Chronical_cervical_infections_and_dysplasia_CIN_I_CIN_IIvaginal_vitamin_D_high_dose_treatment_a_new_effective_method.html#.UD58JBw7jww

It should be noted, I get my blood levels tested every 6 months and I've never once had an excessive level or adverse reaction from doses at 150, 000IU's per week. In fact, some times my levels are still below 50 ng/ml! I don't know why folks are so scared of high dose vitamin D, as there are few cases of adverse reactions and NOBODY has ever been documented dying from excess amounts, ever!

In addition, when I am sick my doctor instructs me to take 1,000 IU's per body weight for 3 days. I've done this on numerous occasions without problem and with great results.

Oregano Oil

Shannon, reporting from outside the female department, I have been having success w/ a similar mix of Grapefruitseed Liquid Concentrate in standard vegetable oil inserted w/ fleet enema bottle rectally for the treatment of parasites and fungal infection. As my condition fluctuates, I must adjust the amount of Grapefruitseed as it can burn. I suppose the Oregano is about equal strength as Grapefruitseed but the latter has no odor and may be more bang-for-the-buck.

I actually did a similar treatment using the Grapefruit Seed Extract for a yeast infection a year ago that wouldn't go away. I tried diflucan, monistat, boric acid, oregano oil and tea tree oil. Nothing seemed to work. I took a tsp of coconut oil and 5-8 drops of GSE, mixed it and dripped it onto a tampon. I inserted that every 8 hours. I got my period during that time and actually made a suppository (minus the tampon) using my tsp. I put unmelted coconut oil into the tsp and made a well in the center (the GSE won't free so you have to encapsulate it in the coconut oil so you can insert it). I put the 5-8 drops of GSE in the well and gently covered that with more coconut oil and froze it. I inserted one every 8 hours and wore a pad. I believe I continued for 14 days just to be safe and afterward the infection was gone. I have been suffering with a BV infection for the last 6 wks. I refuse to take any antibiotics (oral or vaginal). I tried 7 days of tea tree oil tampons every 8 hours, tried a few days of coconut oil/GSE, tried 2 wks of boric acid/coconut oil suppositories and the dr confirmed the infection is still there. It is very mild, she is even surprised I'm having any symptoms. She suggested 3 wks of boric acid at night. I made my own using gel caps and am doing the 3 wks (which is about to end in 3 days). I'm also oil pulling for 20 mins in the am, drinking ACV (2 tbsps in the morning) and taking 10 drops of GSE in water along with probiotics. I'm still feeling irritated which I don't know if it's still the bacteria or the boric acid? I was in the shower this morning and OIl of Oregano popped into my head as I know it's antibacterial and pretty strong. I did some research on it and found this info here. I love Earth Clinic. If the bacteria still hasn't gone away I think Oil Of Oregano will be my next option. Planning to take it orally and vaginally. So ready to have my life back.

For the past few weeks I have been taking 3-4 acidophilus capsules (3 billion live cultures), 3 b-complex vitamin with Vit C and folic acid in the morning. I also try to do 3 vagina flushes consisting of mostly water (up to the first ring on the disposable douche bottle) the rest I fill with ACV (1st flush) H2o2 (2nd Flush) and 5-10 tea tree oil drops (depending on how I feel). I have been neglectful with the nightime regime of taking the capsules/vitamins

I have been w/o pantyliners and my underwear has remained dry from discharge (I still experience discharge as far as seeing it with my handheld mirror, but the feeling of it coming down I dont experience it at the momemt (knock on wood literally and figuratively speaking).

my first regime of just 2 probiotics 2 vitamins in the day and one/one at night and h202 vagina flushes didnt yield results like the above. I really hope that my take on things helps someone because this BV thing has plagued me since 13. The first antibotic treatment helped (early 2000s I was happy, but it came back) thought I was doomed. Next treatment feb 2011 (while pregnant nothing) last doctor I mentioned it to said it was in my head (I could have slapped her. Im just glad that I can read and was able to find Earthclinic and other little blogs that shared their insight

Hi Ladies..... So glad I've found this site with all your comments/questions.

I have been fighting this now since December and have been VERY upset over the whole thing.... Thankfully I have a loving partner who has so far been very patient and supportive.

The DO that I've been seeing first had me insert plain natural live culture yogurt (this is messy and did not seem to work). I next tried probiotics (poked holes into the capsules and inserted).... This helped a bit but did not get rid of the BV.

Side note... Be sure to get tested at a doc to ensure that you really have BV as there are a few other things with similar symptons that are not bacterial.

I have tried hyrdogren peroxide douches (1/4 cup mixed with 3/4 cup distilled water).... This works instantly for the odor but along with that I take probiotics orally.

The one link (and my DO is now confirming her suspicions) is that my boyfriend has not done anything on his end.... We notice that if we have un-protected sex or if he does not pull out, I get the odor back almost immediatley. The DO advised that semen changes the ph of the vagina but she also had a theory that maybe he has the bacteria as well.

I have also found a product that is a combo of a boric acid sopository with an oral probiotic (it's a 14 day treatment) and really seemed to work (until we had unprotected sex. I was odor free for one month with a combo of two hydrogen peroxide/water douches, the Natren "Gy-Na-Tren" vaginal health kit (oral probiotic & sopository) and protected sex with my boyfriend using condoms all the time.

We are now going to try "Flagyl".... Both my boyfriend and I will take these antibiotics as the DO prescribed.... But I will also plan to continue the Gy-Na-Tren for the 14 day cycle. Then I will begin to take Natren's "Healthy Trinity" which supposedly balances the ph in the vagina. After one month of this we will see what happens when we have unprotected sex.

I will post again with our results. Good luck to you all.

PS... last but not least.... I'm perimenopausal and I'm going to now investigate this angle as well. As our bodies change their hormone levels, I'm wondering if that throws off our ph... No doc as advised this... Just another angle to follow up. AND I just had a period after 8 months without and that made my BV symptoms 10 times worse.... so obviously a period throws off the ph.

I am HAVING BV AGAIN!!! :( I am tired of going to the doctors because this happens again and again with in couple months; for them to open me up, stick that metal in me, swab and test it, and be grossed out. I think there should be something OVER THE COUNTER FOR THIS because its like an allergy or cold in our vagina. If its so common, they really should just put the meds over the counter, sheeshhh, so they won't have to smell our BV! I just bought:

1. PROBIOTIC ACIDOPHILUS (digestive health) 2 billion active cultures

2. PROBIOTIC MULTI-ENZYME DIGESTIVE FORMULA (containing active acidophilus cultures) 1 billion active Lactobacillus acidophilus organisms - bascially same as above, I don't know why I got 2, but right now I just want to get rid of it ASAP because its so emabarassing going to the restroom and people can smell you (I don't know if they can, but if I can smell myself, pretty sure someone next stall can also).

3. PRO-B by RepHresh (probiotic feminine supplement - balances yeast and bacteria to maintain feminine health) I don't know what this one was, I am just trying all for now.

4. LAST BUT NOT LEAST = HOMEOPATHIC BV TREATMENT AND CAPSULES by VH essentials. I got this one at Walmart, well I got all of them at Walmart. One of them is the treatment, you insert a tablet in your vagina, and the other one is a 60 day capsule that you take regularly to reduce recurring symptoms of BV.

Has anyone tried the HOMEOPATHIC BV TREATMENT?

I will update you girls on my HOMEOPATHIC BV TREATMENT - I think I like this one because of the title hehe :)

WOW is all I can say about all the Women who is suffering from this crazy bacteria, I thought something was wrong with me. I went to my Dr several times and was told about BV.. I knew what it was but never understand it until I came across this site. Thank God because I have been dealing with this and not understanding how to beat it. Its been off an on since I first got pregnant at 30. Yes Ive been through the antibiotics a few times and it would clear up awhile then finally I notice a few months ago it would reoccur even after antibiotics. Tried all the over counter BV meds worked only temporary, So I went to my Dr once again to make sure it was BV and she confirmed it was and prescribe me more antibiotics and I decided ok I will get the antibiotics just in case my home remedies didnt work. Here is what I did, brought pro b probiotics, multi vitamins for women, folic acid, goldenseal which I take once orally everyday, and I do HP douche after period and sex or when ever I feel it creeping back. I must say after first HP douche smell and discharge was gone but of course I did the 7 days 1/2 water. My only neg about HP douche is it can cause alil itch, and make you a lil dry which I take vit E daily to help with that and you will need something for yeast at hand for any flare ups. Finally after doing more research I found online this product called yeast away and Alkalete an acid neutralizer which also balance your ph to wean myself off the stuff that I dont really need. I plan to still do HP when neccesary. So I hope this help someone because this site has helped me and I have been on the right track for 1 month now.. Ladies you have to be patient to find what works for you it does take sometime to get this under control. I am still working to stay free from this monster and I will give you an update on how well the last two I mentioned to my BV cure!! :) Thanks again because I feel refreshed once again and I am very grateful for all of you!!

I have been suffering from bv for 1 1/2 yr already.... and at first my bv was awful but after I have change the way I eat and what I wash my clothes with and wash my body with thing have gotten better for me if anybody listens to what some of the woman on this page say about femodophilus doesn't work because it works. You just have to change the way you eat, don't drink soda all the time, at least have eight cups of water everyday because it keep you energized. Also it cleans your body. Try to stop eating food that have sugar, you could eat it sometimes but, if you eat too much sugar, you not going to do nothing but cause the bacteria to grow more. Try eating salads, snack on carrots and celery stick for a snack with maybe peanut butter or ranch dressing however you like it, make tuna sandwiches instead of greasy hamburgers, etc., bake your chicken instead of frying it, bake your food, try going for walks or working out if you could but, it's best to do that to get your body back. Take vitamin D3 1000. It was a study about bv where these doctors have found that vitamin D3 is somewhat connected to bv. This is the website http://womenshealth.about.com/b/2009/05/26/bacterial-vaginosis-linked-to-vitamin-d-deficiency.htm about it and you could go there and read up on it.

I have a friend who try vitamin D3 1000 Iu and she said it works. Plus she was taking femodophilus and she say she was cured for 6 months and it hasn't came back yet she said that she feels better. So whoever said that femodophilus doesn't work is making a big mistake or they are doing something wrong which causes their bv to get bad.

But I also try taking one teaspoon of apple cider vinegar right when I wake up early in the morning to find that it works for the itching.

I went out today and purchase femodophilus and the vitamin D3 1000 IU. I will let you know what happen in a week.

I hope this helps bye :)

My story is similar to Rs from San Carlos, Ca on 06/29/2010 I initially missed the boric acid remedy for BV. After a 5 month battle I've been posting under: the HYDROGEN PEROXIDE, FOLIC ACID, ACIDOPHILUS remedy as "better but not cured". I was getting results but did not feel NORMAL. Now, I am a YEA under multiple remedies because for me the addition of BORIC ACID finally bumped me into the - I FEEL CURED position and now I have a long-term remedy!

There is a dosage recommendation via a midwife farther down in this boric acid thread that is consistent with recommendations I have read by 'BV specialists' - Ask the pharmacist at a drug store for boric acid powder and self-fill veggie or gelatin capsules. Only fill the larger side of the capsule for 600 mg & cap with small side. Google for specifics, it's easy.

We are all different so it may take some time to figure out which products you need to use and realizing not all products are equal or that not all probiotics have the same strains. It can get expensive but I tried a few probiotics until I could tell/feel it was working. Find what works for you.

I felt like my BV was close to stable for the last month by using HYDROGEN PEROXIDE, FOLIC ACID, ACIDOPHILUS until I added Boric Acid to my mix because of an itchy yeast infection. Adding in the BA was like an ahhhh FINALLY! A DIFFERENCE!!! It sounds weird but it's like I feel differently throughout my body. I actually feel HAPPY and not depressed. I feel like my whole vagina region is clean, fresh and will remain so because I have the right defenses.

This is long but I am experiencing RESULTS!!! I have been battling BV for the last 5 months and am just now gaining control over this HORRIBLE and gross condition. 5 months ago I started with only Hydrogen-Peroxide Vag-washes and they work GREAT like a miracle for eliminating the odor immediately but it ONLY lasts for a few days. It kept coming back a little worse every few weeks until I almost vomited from my smell after sex one night. H2O2 is not a cure for BV but is part of the solution.

At the beginning of the year I got serious about beating this BV, I was super depressed AND I felt miserable with itching, burning and internal PAIN. I started a 10 day treatment & added a multivitamin with folic acid and a good probiotic with acidophilus both orally and vaginally, daily. I had to try different versions until I found the right ones for me. Orally I take Probiotic CD caplets (not good for inserting): it also contains strains: L. Plantarum, L. Rhamnosus, L. Salivarius, L casei & S. Thermophilus which were found to help correct BV in a study with Tori Hudson, ND. Her version femecology has some of these strains which I now use vaginally b/c the caplets form I take orally causes a messy discharge hours after inserting.

I have been monitoring my hooch and odor constantly for months. Hormones, blood and another's DNA/skin each change the pH of my vagina. I thought I had cleared my BV after 1 month of treatment but it came back ever so slightly after my period. That is when I read initial treatment should last 4 months & that menses wrecks pH if you are weak. I also felt like from time to time the probiotics were causing slight but unpleasant yeast imbalances. After my last period ended I did 2 nights H2O2 vag-washes followed by pro-b in the V. I could smell the slightest hint of BV at the tip of my finger. 4 days after switching off femdolphilus any faint smell of BV seemed to clear but my outer area started itching like MAD = yeast!!! When this imbalance occurred I was going insane after 5 minutes. I decided to give the boric acid method a whirl.

NEW ADDITION: Boric Acid capsules. Boric acid has been known to correct both BV and yeast infections. I am dealing with both. Read up about medicinal uses of boric acid and what boric acid is before you freak out about the word acid. Lemon juice and vinegar are both citric acids. Vitamin C is ascorbic acid.

In the afternoon I went to a local pharmacy and asked for boric acid powder and also purchased 00 empty capsules. My case is currently mild and on the mend IMO. As soon as I walked in the door I filled two capsules and popped em' in my hooch with a little bit of coconut oil & an all cotton organic tampon. I felt better almost immediately but for sure almost amazing in 1 hour. I then mixed grapeseed oil as my base and then added a few drops of calendula, tea tree, clove and oregano oils. I then added in boric acid to make a paste, then filled 3 capsules. I removed the tampon (the stuff leaks at this dose) & took a shower then unexpectedly had sex. No smell at all, no pain. There was a teeny amt. Grit on his willy but he didn't seem to notice (hopefully this will help him too!!! ????)) After sex I popped 1 of my oil & BA mix capsules & a femecology pro-b into my V. Within minutes I instantly felt FRESH. Like the freshest I have felt in 5 months. For the next hour I felt clean and normal for the first time in MONTHS and the feeling lasted until I fell asleep. I felt amazed. I wore a pad to bed, some discharge, this morning, no smell, no itches. I inserted another cap and again I feel so fresh and normal again it is amazing.

I finally feel like I have the upper hand. I finally feel clean. I finally feel normal. I finally feel like I have a way to reestablish balance.

My intention is 3 nights of my mixed caps in the V for the yeast itches & then stop. You are not suppose to use it continually for long periods and I want to use it during menses in a week. I make fresh caps with my oil mixture and will do one at night during my period for the next 4 cycles. I will more than likely also insert my new mix caps with a pro-b after sex. I may make a mix of all three.

The way boric acid kills roaches and other soft skeleton bugs is it ultimately dehydrates them which causes death - that is different than death by poisoning, however do not ingest BA with the hopes of better results. Keep out of reach for children and pets.

Some women complained that the straight homemade BA caps caused burning after 3 days. This was my reasoning for cutting my dose by adding good medicinal oils that may also help fight the fight and prevent this inflammation. I also feel my case is very mild now after 2 months of working on correcting the situation. I must say though, the BA feels like my biggest breakthrough with BV yet.

P.S. The Boric Acid does cause a lot of discharge. This is one reason insertion at night is recommended. Wear a pad to bed & a panty liner during the day. BA has made a HUGE difference in how I feel and has brought me some confidence! Good Luck to you all - I hope you find your remedy.
