In the last six months, I have changed my Toothpaste that had Fluoride to non Fluoride Toothpaste and my Blood pressure has gotten to a normal state. Our Government is feeding us C**P, it is a money maker for Dentist & Oncologist. Fluoride has never been approved by the FDA to put in water & Toothpaste The Government won't go near this subject they know it will open a can of worm's. If you read your tooth paste it will say if a six year old swallows a pea sized amount call Poison control. If its poison for a lab Rat it is Poison for Humans of all ages. It stops the production of "62 vital Thyroid enzymes that will open the door to Cancer and other illnesses" it was used in the Sarin gas that was used to kill people it has been classified a neurotoxin by toxicologist with Fluoridealert.org. The German scientist came up with it in 1930 and the United States started using it in 1945 under the false image as good for teeth it passes the to the endocrine system there it does it's damage to Bones look it up: www.fluoridealert.org.

John: You need to be more specific than "prescription medicine" as the topic is entirely about specifics. Although in general common remedies like ACV do not have any interaction with drugs, but you may experience an even lower than normal pressure reading, in which case you would need to reduce the mg of your medication. Also, do read the entirety of "drug interactions and warnings" on your prescription; NEVER take pharmaceutical meds without first reading the info monograph.

You are supposed to discontinue the medication for however long it takes for that medication to become minimized in your system. Usually it takes between 2 to 5 days so 3 days should be enough.
I would recommend that you forget about blood pressure and focus on cleaning your arteries. See my post under peripheral artery disease regarding nattokinase.

After beginning to have high blood pressure early in pregnancy (not too high, but alarming at 140/90), I had heard that Magneisum might be the key to getting it back down. I was already taking calcium and getting potassium, so it was magnesium that I thought might do the trick. I started consuming 3 squares of 100% cacao baking bar with a little raw honey spread on for taste. The next time I went back for a checkup, my blood pressure was back down to 116/70 and has stayed there. I HIGHLY recommend this tactic. It has also cured my leg cramps I get at night from being pregnant. If I don't have my chocolate, my cramps will come back, so I know it's the chocolate. It's important to spread the consumption of the chocolate throughout the day so that you are not getting too much caffeine in one sitting. I usually have one after breakfast, lunch, and dinner. A great, healthy desert!

I have been drinking apple cider vinegar and baking soda for the last two days for high blood pressure. I normally feel like a cement factory has moved in my bowel. But, this morning I had diarrhea. I'll cut back on the dosage. I was just pouring the ACVand BS haphazardly. Tonight I'll measure it. Two tablespoons ACV and one teaspoon BS.

Jolole: It seems you may also be suffering Cholestasis or gallstones. This condition can cause acidosis, constipation, and hypertension. A gallbladder cleanse would be helpful. Natural remedies to increase bile flow like Dandelion Root, Burdock Root, and Yellowdock Root will help. Also drink lemon water daily (this almost always works for me; I use lemon juice concentrate and filtered water).
Hope this helps.

This is the 3rd time that I started High Blood Pressure (HBP) remedy (whilst also alkalising) with 2tbsp Organic ACV+mother with 1/4 tsp of bicarb of soda first thing in the morning and again late at night and need to stop again because of sudden onset of constipation that develops within the first 3 days of taking above remedy. I am normally not suffering from constipation, have always been very regular. Was prepared this time and had Aloevera juice at hand, just in case. Started with aloe on 2nd day in afternoon 2tbsp 3x daily in organic apple juice. Now at end of day 3 still no bowel movement and I have discontinued taking ACV+bicarb of soda. I am relatively healthy and dont take any medication. Only suffer with HBP, Fibromyalgia, candida, digestive malabsorbtion and use Oil of Magnesium daily, also B50 and natural vitE. My age is 68. Can someone help me understand why I develop constipation and how to remedy this outcome. Thanks for feedback and blessings to all involved with keeping this website going.

Hi Marie from New York - Regarding your comments about colon cancer and kidney disease caused by Aloe Vera. There is a truckload of rubbish on the internet, most of the time provided/supplied by the parties interested to mislead the public. In the future if you write a comment like this, could you please reference it, to see if the information is credible or just one of those misleading ones? Although in my case Aloy Vera didn't help reducing my HB, it had other benefits. I used it for six weeks every day 1large stick of washed Aloe, minus thorns, 1 banana, 1 whole lemon, 1 tbs of honey, 4 sticks of young asparagus mixed in the blender. It wasn't good for my HB, but helped with my chronic gastritis, helped with refluxes and like I mentioned cleaned me out, and caused NO SIDE EFFECTS of any kind at all!!! (The taste isn't very pleasent, my wife had it only once, therefore I would advise to use half the amount I used. - Anything is better then the medications and their side effects)

Have you tried Apple Cider Vinegar? That seems to really help in a lot of cases. Also, a side note - did you receive a flu vaccination prior to your polymyalgia? There is some correlation between the two. It appears as though flu vaccines can set it off.

That makes perfect sense, as taurine regulates and normalizes heartbeat. Contrary to what is claimed, it is not the ingredient in "energy drinks" that causes any problems. Taurine also occurs naturally in red meat. It gets its name from the "meat of the bull".

My blood pressure was high. 198 over something. I couldn't take any prescriptions for it other than a diuretic (prescription) because my muscles in my thighs kept hurting. That can be a dangerous side effect especially since your heart is a muscle.
1,000mg of Taurine and my blood pressure went down to 150 over something. Then 130 over something. With a prescription diuretic and 1000mgs of Taurine my blood pressure is in the teens.

Food Allergies

I normally have normal to low blood pressure. But a few years ago, it started to spike higher and higher each day. I will attest to the fact that cardiovascular exercise did help temporarily for me, but not much else did. One day, I ended up in hospital due to very high blood pressure, pounding headache, pounding, racing heart etc. I asked the Dr. If it could be food allergies and he looked at me like I had two heads and said "schedule a physical. " What- and wait 6 months while I suffer ever escalating blood pressure and deadly symptoms each night?! I don't think so. I went to a naturopath who also thought "food allergies" and did some testing (blood tests). She found I was allergic to about 1/3 of food items I regularly ate. I dropped (with difficulty) those items from my diet and my blood pressure gradually came down back to low normal.

Hello, I study nutrition & holistic healing. You should read the book, "Wheat Belly". I got mine on Audible.com for audio book or u can get on Amazon.com It is a proven fact that gluten (anything made w/wheat among some other grains contain gluten) causes the majority of the diseases in the world. Diabetes, HBP, Cholesterol-high, heart disease, obesity, psychosis, depression, anxiety... Unbelievable book that this cardiologist wrote after devoting many yrs of his life testing patients. After 20 days patients conditions basically clear up. He says that 90% of all gluten intolerant people don't even know they are. Many people don't register when they test. Yet, take them off the gluten & they clear up! :-) You gotta check into that. I have lost 40 lbs & not so bloated any more & my diabetes & HBP is now cleared up too. But, I have also adopted ACV mixed w/garlic & honey http://www.rawfoodinfo.com/articles/art_cidervingarlichoney.html & it went down 30 points from my last visit & cinnamon is my big wonder cure for diabetes, look that one up too! Only take less than 1 tsp daily in warm water or in your tea or coffee split up in 3-4 cups (total 1 tsp--no more-important). http://diabetes.webmd.com/cinnamon-and-benefits-for-diabetes
I am loving life w/healthy eating holistic healing. I just wish more people knew that just healthy foods, spices, herbs & vitamins & supplements are the key to good health & curing ailments & disease too! Btw, check out this movie! Amazing, .. Eye opener movies: "FAT, SICK, & NEARLY DEAD" (he cures all his diseases w/juicing in only 30 days literally/documentary) and also watch: "FOOD MATTERS" Harvard doctor tells how we can heal w/food over medicines. Medicine only bandages it food cures you. :-)
I know, I know, .. My husband says I can't save the world, but, I dang sure will try! :-) Good luck everyone & I hope this helps all who reads this. Sheila

Flipper69: I was on Lisinipril for several months for hypertension, but managed to lower by other natural means and discontinued the L. as I also have acidic condition, I mix equal parts sodium bicarbonate and sea salt for buffering w/ absolutely no sign of elevating BP (with or without Lisinipril). I use ACV w/ food or sometimes take tablets and can't make a case for lowering the B.P. It would prove useful to have the Sodium/Potassium levels checked during next Dr. visit as one might need a little extra Potassium. Eat a fruit salad daily would insure proper P. Jon Barron recommends a kidney cleanse twice yr which would help the body regulate the B.P. and more. Lisinipril is known toxic on the kidneys, so a cleans is of extra importance.

How safe is it to use two teaspoons of baking soda with 1 teaspoon of bsmu in 8oz of water if that person has high blood pressure? Is there a substitute with low or no sodium baking soda? Can it be used with the same effect as regular baking soda?
If they use the above concoction, is it safe to add 2 teaspoons of organic Apple Cider Vinegar to it and would it help with the high blood pressure problem. They are taking 40mg of lisinopril every day.

Listening is very calming although I never actually checked to see if just listening would have the same effect on lowering blood pressure. I'll have to test that out! Vocalising the chant is the best way to feel the full effect of the vibrational change. It's analogous to tuning in to a radio frequency, or plugging in to a source of electricity: someone else can tune in to their own radio station or turn on their own lightswitch and you can overhear the music or observe the light but it's not quite the same as activating it yourself.

Hi Xia and Timh, I have spent much time chanting although not so much these days. My guru was Baba Muktananda and I loved chanting! It is part of the Siddha tradition and the chants were in sanskrit. My response regarding chanting is to actively participate and you will feel the vibration lift you within. I know that just listening to chants or playing them also raises the vibrational field but how you feel when you actually participate is so uplifting at least in my experience. I would encourage you to try that Timh and see if you feel your vibration change. Best to you always, Lisa

My dad (a scientist/atheist) had extremely high blood pressure that was not being controlled with prescription meds (even though he was taking 3 different kinds of blood pressure meds! )
I read on webMD that meditation with a mantra helps reduce blood pressure. I asked my dad to do an experiment. First, to take his blood pressure. He did. It was 179/76. Then I asked him to chant "Nam-myoho-renge-kyo" with me for 15 minutes (it is a Buddhist chant that means "dedication to the mystical/inexplicable Law of Cause and Effect through sound/vibration"). He only chanted for 7 minutes and then wanted to take his blood pressure again, immediately. He did, and his blood pressure was 105/67.
We tried this experiment every day for a week. Every time, it worked to lower his blood pressure.
Chanting definitely reduces blood pressure. I have also used chanting to relieve anxiety, reduce depression and to access the subconscious mind. Try it and see!!! It's free and it works.

I was having uncomfortable time during past 7 days when my BP rose to 140 /90 from my 'normal' 130/80. It was quite a sudden thing and that leaves me clueless - hmm what was wrong?
So since then I tried water, garlic and ACV/BS without significant result while keep reading EC for more things to try out. I came across virgin coconut oil VCO so I did take it just 1tsp last night. 2 hrs later I was seeing the readings were on the way down. Early this morning I had another 1 tsp. Well, I did take coconut water drink too as the same time. So I'm not sure who did the work or was it both?
To my total surprise when I checked the BP this morning it was 120/80, a number I was striving to achieve for a very long time.
Let see how long it will last - I pray for the best.

Apple Cider Vinegar and Baking Soda
Posted by Jon (Othello, Wa, USA) on 05/20/2012
Steve, when you combine an acid with enough base to neutralize the acid what is obtained is the conjugate base. This is the basis behind alkalization of the body by using things like citrus fruits and vinegar. In the body the pancreas secretes bicarbonate to neutralize acid, whether it's stomach acid (HCl), vinegar, citric acid, or any other acid.
In the case of vinegar it's acetic acid bicarbonate = acetate (the conjugate base)
In the case of citrus fruit it's citric acid bicarbonate = citrate (the conjugate base)
If baking soda (sodium bicarbonate) is used then then the result is sodium acetate and sodium citrate.
So supplementing with either the conjugate base or the original acid should offer similar benefits.
When the conjugate bases are in the blood they will absorb hydrogen ions (one of the definitions of an acid) recreating the original acid. As far as acidity is concerned this is a much weaker acid than the original free hydrogen ions thereby "alkalizing" the body. The body generally uses bicarbonate/carbonic acid for this buffering system, creating carbon dioxide and water as end results. The carbon dioxide is then exhaled to maintain a proper pH. Supplementing with citric acid or vinegar, or the conjugate bases of them, helps this process in maintaining things.
As far as sodium is concerned, several recent metastudies have been released that show conclusively that low sodium diets offer no benefit to otherwise healthy individuals. What was shown was an increase in stress/inflammation factors. Cholestrol, triglycerides, adrenalin, and noradrenaline were all elevated in low sodium diets. The only benefit was an extremely marginal blood pressure drop of 1% or around a 1/2 point drop. However, it should be noted that those who are already hypertensive did experience a slightly greater drop of 3. 5% or around 4-7 points depending on what the blood pressure was to start with. On the other, hand salt really isn't the culprit in hypertension. Instead the culprit is a horrible diet of transfats, low vitamin and mineral intake, overcooked/fried food, sugar, no vegetables, no omega 3 fats, etc...
You know you have to much salt in your food when your food tastes too salty-Joel Wallach DVM, ND

Do not mix any vinegar with baking soda!
Vinegar is an acid, and baking soda is a base. When you combine acids with bases, they neutralize each other, resulting in two major items which are neither acidic nor basic: water and sodium.
So, by mixing vinegar with baking soda, you're changing the therapy from a beneficial vinegar to a harmful sodium!

He may have fructose intolerence, apple cider vinegar will make it so much worse. Look up fructose malabsorbtion, this will cause high bp due to sending the endocrine system into overdrive trying to compensate (by lowering or raising hormone levels to attack the invader - it is no different than a food allergy) It can present at any time in life. 30 percent of the population has it, but only ten percent are symptomatic. Go LOW FODMAP; FODMAPS are an acryonm recent discovery, it breaks down food types by the sugars they convert into upon consumption; Avoid apples, pears, F is for frutans, not saying avoid all fruit, Vegetables that contain high fructose are onions, garlic, asparagus, cabbages, etc... Just those with more fructose than glucose; Some beans, like baked beans, chick peas, kidney beans, high galactans; Reduce lactose; use real butter only, lactose free ; milk; and hard cheeses only, no yogurt or soft cheeses; Avoid ALL FAT FREE AND REDUCED SUGAR AND SUGAR FREE; as these products are made from pure fructose and do convert once consumed; will deal me great issue; White sugar is best; real sugar is best; avoid all colored drinks and foods and processed foods will have garlic, onlions, MSG, INULIN... oh the list goes on; avoid them all, stick to short ingredient foods prepared at home! Hope this helps.
