Similar to Aurora's post from 2014 on eating an apple to reduce fibro pain, I use Raw Ginger to relieve pain. I cut a 1/4 inch piece and chew it while I work. Kids hate how strong it makes my breath, but it really works.

Malic acid in the apples should be helpful as it reduces oxalate in the system. Reduction of oxalate iis known to reduce kidney stones and also to reduce the pain associated with fibromyalgia. A low oxalate diet can significantly reduce fibromyalgia pain in some people.

MSM, Oil of Oregano

About 1 1/2 years ago I woke up on my back in bed with my legs extended straight out. I bent my knees and screamed out loud in agony at the pain. I did NOT have any knee pain prior to going to sleep the night before. I could barely walk. Then things got worse. My lower back and upper back had "pockets" of what felt like something bulging under the skin. My son could feel this "pocket of something' when he massaged my legs and back. It was not my imagination.

Then my upper arms hurt horribly. I could not pick up even a coffee cup due to the pain. Then I could not lower myself onto the toilet without screaming in pain or get up either. Taking a bath was a nightmare as well getting in and out of the tub. I went on like this for a good 6 months getting worse every day. I did try everything under the sun for relief. Even using capsacian alcohol rub mixed with DMSO, and other things heated up and used in a very hot compress on the bad areas of my body. That did not help. At the same time my adult son had a horrible pain in his right groin area including his testes. This pain comes and goes for him.

I was able to consult with a former scientist in Russia (friend of son) who has this same problem. He insisted it was an introduced bacterial infection which would make sense as the affected areas would move around my body. The only way I can expel this bacteria is to cough up very, very thick mucus which reminds me of rubber peanuts.

After much trial and error I have hit upon a regieme of home medications that have worked for me. I take MSM capsules 1,000MG two at a time several times a day. I also have been using oil of oregano drops in chocolate milk (only thing I can stand to cut the oregano burn and taste) 2 times a day. I started with 2 drops and then worked up to 5 or 6 drops per cup of milk. I know when I use too many drops as my whole system feels like it's onfire - then I drop back to 2 or 3 drops and feel okay.

At night I feel I can run a marathon or do stuff that I can not do in the daytime. I got so bad I could NOT even roll over in bed as it hurt so much!!! Staying in bed is not the answer either. I walk to the mailbox when I first get up and that seems to help. My lower back hurts when I get up as it seems the bacteria has settled there overnight. My upper thighs hurt horribly on the outside area when I walk most times. My chest hurts horribly when I cough or sneeze as I must in the morning to cough out the goo. I go to bed feeling fine some nights and wake up a royal mess the next day having done nothing out of the ordinary. I can't even walk around most stores to shop as I hurt horribly. Getting up into my old Jeep is an event as well as I must hoist myself up by the steering wheel. Going up and down stairs is mostly a very painful experience.

About 6 months ago my son's inner thigh hurt so much to walk he had to use a cane and he's only 30 years old!! He can't take MSM as he literally can't get to sleep for several days after taking one pill!! Fortunately for me I can take all I want of this stuff and it does not bother me with any ill side effects.

His inner thigh groin pain comes and goes. My "bacteria" comes and goes. Some days I'm a royal mess and then others I can walk up and down stairs and walk okay to some extent with no problems. I think the connection to fluoride is not applicable to me or my son as we were not exposed to any water source that had this in it. Where I live is well water. We also use nonfluoride toothpaste so I am really stumped where we "got" this from. We were both ill with the flu right after my knees in bed incident though and my Russian friend thinks the bacteria entered my body and mutated then from the flu germs. My son had his groin problem after we were ill with the flu. My bacteria problem got horribly worse as well after we had the flu. I am now 67 and my son is 31. We have severe bouts of horrible lethargy with no enthusiasm to do much of anything some days.

I did try ACV and borax and baking soda and all that did to me was make me ill. When my body is ridding itself of the bacteria I get horrible bouts of indigestion to the point where anything including plain water gives me indigestion!!!

I refuse to see a doctor as my Russian friend said when he went to the doctors all they did was pump him full of extra strength antibiotics which worked until he stopped taking them as he took too many of them. He can't take MSM either. They insisted he had fibro and he insisted he had a bacterial infection. I don't have Medicare and don't want it just to have the doctors perform all sorts of tests on me to tell me they "think" I have fibro.

I'm doing fine on the MSM and oil of oregano drops every day and will continue with that regieme until I find something else to take.

Mind Body Medicine

My mom has suffered from fibromyaliga for about 20 years. Mostly in the form of pain in her back and shoulders, with bouts of chronic fatigue. Took Hydrocodone for all that time and just suffered through it, continuing to work because she loves her job as manager of a health food store. Has tried every herbal remedy out there (she's very knowledgeable and best friend is an ND), and some other alternative therapies such as acupuncture and detoxing through the feet. Some things gave temporary relief but that was all.

I've believed for many years that the root cause for all her problems were emotions she had not dealt with. My mom is a pacifist (sometimes passive aggressive but hates confrontation), and has a background of abuse and feeling unloved and unsupported, with the exception of us kids. Her symptoms all began after we all moved "out of the nest". In the following years I noticed that symptoms worsened during stressful and emotional times. In my heart and gut I KNEW her emotions were making her manifest pain physically. I didn't know how that was possible, but I just knew.

Seven years ago I got into a happy marriage and had a child, our closeness and daily communication took a hit, resulting in a sort of separation between us, and that - I believe - was the last straw for her. She went rapidly downhill from there. It culminated in a nervous breakdown this past summer which brought on new symptoms: brain fog that very much resembled dementia in its severity, SEVERE fatigue, hearing and seeing things, and more pain than ever. My father was scared to death and broke down with me on the phone one day crying. I resolved in that moment to find a way to help her and thus began my journey that I'm sharing here.

After praying for guidance, and weeks of frantic research on this site and others, I stumbled upon Mickel Therapy and also a book by Dr. John Sarno about Mindbody medicine. It changed the way I looked and pain and other symptoms and in my heart I KNEW this was the solution. In essence, when there are emotions that that aren't processed or dealt with properly, a physical manifestation in the form of various symptoms begins to happen. Sarno's book says that our mind distracts us from having to deal with painful emotions by creating symptoms in our bodies. Mickel therapy is a bit different, saying that unprocessed emotions affects the hypothalmus gland which then goes into overdrive and creates unwanted symptoms. Bottom line is that it all goes back to emotions wreaking havoc. Sounds awfully simplistic, doesn't it? But I knew it was worth pursuing because everything else had been tried, and because I'd known all along that her problems were tied to her emotions, and now I knew exactly how.

So I shared all that information with my parents and began a sort of "coaching" with them both about learning to talk about emotions, which was a bit of a process because my parents don't talk about such things (hence her problems). I continued praying for guidance, talking with her, and mended our relationship. I laid out for her a timeline of sorts to show my theories on WHY her symptoms started (us leaving home), and the progression of them over time as they related to emotional issues in her life. It was hard because of her severe brain fog... Sometimes an uphill battle, but she is getting better!

The confusion is dramatically improved, as is her pain and energy levels. Her and my dad are talking all the time, and have even had a few dates. Their relationship is slowly improving because of all of this, which is nearly as miraculous as the improvements in her symptoms. She still has a ways to go, and will have to continue to practice this new way of thinking of her body and illness, but she is on the road to recovery. I am so far beyond grateful that I was led to the knowledge I was so I could bring my Mom back to us. I urge everyone to read and research more about this powerful link between mind, body, and emotions.

Hi, I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia in 1999 and in 2010 I start taking gamma-Aminobutyric acid (Gaba) 500mg with B6, I did start slowly but I increase the dose to 1000mg then 1500mg and 2000 mg per day. I also took Ashwagandha for 3 months then I stop Ashwagandha but not the Gaba,

In June 2012, I realize now that even if I do not take Gaba every day my pain does not come back anymore.

Also I am taking a full spectrum Vitamins with Iron, vitamin D, Calcium with C.

I take ___ protein [supplements] with BCAA's (for Lunch 3 times a week), Taurine 500 mg and Magnesium everyday in the evening with a snack, Melatonin 4 mg before I go to bed

I drink a tomato juice with 3 tsp of Apple cider vinegar 3 to 4 time a week....

I have a very healthy diet a lot of green smoothies (avocado spinach, Mango or green apple... and Protein powder but not to much fruits too much sugar...

I feel great today and I think that 2 years of Gaba cure me from all that pain..... I do exercise one hour every day...

if someone else took very high dose of Gaba please share your experience I would like to know.

Hi. Fibromyalgia for17 years. Single mom with four children. I divorced my abusive husband and have raised my kids alone for over 18 years. When my youngest child was 2 yrs. old I had a hysterectomy. 4-6 months later I was critically ill. I am writing this post after two months of reading every post and tons of questionaires. I am an educated woman and after 6 years of pure hell with doctors, dentists, rheumatologists, counselors, Chiropracters and Psychiatrists I realized that the only way I would ever be well is if I figured it out on my own. I also have 6 sisters with Fibro and they too have been looking for answers for many many years. I am not simply thankful for earthclinic. No, what I am is ecstatic, sad, joyful, relieved and so very hopeful that I am consistently on the verge of tears. My symptoms have tortured me but with four children and little money and just as little emotional support I have been victorious thus far. Because I realize now that I have done the best that I could. I spent years feeling guilty. I thought I was weak. Doctors convinced me that it was Psychosomatic. The horror of Fibro is that others cannot understand. It's too much and too erratic. It doesn't make sense even to me so how would someone without Fibro be able to understand. Thank you, all of you. I am not guilty anymore because all of you have reassured me that I am not alone. I have been hopeful about cures before. In fact my family and even my children find my excitement boring and irritating most times. Most people think I'm nuts because I cant stop looking for answers. The reason: NO ONE realizes how horribly sick I am. I don't really LOOK sick. I laugh. I can walk. I'm not in a wheelchair. I work. I clean. Most people think I'm a Hypochondriac. When I can't function and stay in bed I can't say, it's my Fibromyalgia. I used to say that and felt humiliated by the looks I received. This illness is known as a "Pain Syndrome" what a crock! Chronic Fatigue is known as "being tired all the time". I have said for a long time to the few who would listen, Something has poisoned me. Every single piece of my body, including my brain is in pain. Headaches for days in a row that create nausea and numb my brain. Hands that hurt holding a pen. Eyes burning like they are on fire. Blurry vision. Foot pain that brings tears to my eyes when I walk 1 block. Ears and head itching and aching like something is crawling inside. My neck is so painful ALL the time. I eat well. I am a positive thinker. I have a fulfilling job. I have no car so I walk and ride the bus everywhere. I love life. I love nature. I have educated myself on health and wellness for years. The point that I am making? Fibromyalgia CANNOT be healed as easily or quickly as some have posted. I have had times in the past where healthy living made me feel much better. I am sold on the Flouride connection because I SHOULD be healthy. Something is poisoning me. I have spent 3 weeks researching any and all information on Flouride. I have read the pros and the cons of water fluoridation. The history of Flouride. The case studies of Skeletal Flourosis and even researched the research. I have spent 2 weeks on Teds Borax etc. regimen and I am horribly horribly sick from head to toe. I don't care how long this takes but I won't quit until I am well. For those of you who get better in two days man are you lucky. For those like me Suffer through it. Don't give up. Maybe some of us are more poisoned than others.

I could go on forever but I'll stop now. God bless all of us. I hope this is it because I can't bear to think of any more, especially children going through life with all this pain and sadness. Thank you for earthclinic. Thank God for compassionate human beings.

Borax

Magdaleen, it is probably just die-off, so do not stop the borax. You may also want to take some MSM to help for the fibromyalgia. I have been taking borax for extended periods without any side effects. Sometimes the fibromyalgia may also be acid related, therefore (if not doing it already) take Ted's alkalizer as directed, as well as ACV. It has done wonders for my fibromyalgia and acid related pains. In good health, Deon

Oh my, I thought about to delete the "old" as it is really AGED grains. Sorry about that. There must be suppliers. I am looking into it.

Ordinary rice is good for hot climates. In wet, cold climates, millet is preferable. It can cause an imbalance, causing phlegm. However if the grains are stored for sometime, they are less starchy.

I always check with Ayurveda online when it comes to western designed diets. Allopathic doctors know nothing of nutrition other than what they are told to promote. Dieticians have studied where the faculties are funded by food businesses such as Kraft(y) etc.

Ayurveda and CTM are standing like giants for thousands of years. Image, an ayurvedic vaidya would first try medicine for his patient on himself. Here, most of our doctors would be dead. But lets no go into it.

I started a new product last night for fibromyalgia pain due to post surgical neuropathy. The product is new and is called Temporary fibromyalgia pain and discomfort Relief. It does help the pain but the anxiety sucks. I couldn't figure out why in the world I had anxiety then decided to look up this ingredient via the internet. Bingo! It causes jitters and anxiety. Funny you would think that whatever they gave you for painful nerves would be calming not mood enhancing.

Good thing CVS will take things back. I will return this item and let others know that is a side effect.

Thank you, Kathleen M

Liquid Chlorophyll

I have found that if I take 1 tablespoon of liquid chlorophyll in my water 2 times a day that my inflammation decreases significantly. You can buy it online or at most whole food/organic markets.

I've missed a few days of my chlorophyll and consequently had 2 extremely painful nights of sleep. I've suspected for some time that artificial sweetners were poisonous as they made me extremely achy and lethargic, to the point where I could not safely drive my car. My sister has granulated carcinoma and it also become extremely painful when she eats or drinks anything with artificial sugars.

With FMS it's become apparent that the most important thing for me to feel healthy and pain free is really limit my sugar intake. Artificial or not. My daily servings of fruits is about all my body can handle.

I agree with Kelly. If the person advising a protocol, natural beauty product or whatever gives as much information as possible about what worked for them it stops us from coming back over and over again for details and it helps us as a starting point! I agree with Debbie that we are all different but following what says on the bottle of the supplements more often than not helps no one as the dosages are usually completely wrong! And often, if we are talking about own concotions we won't have any idea about what to do! Maybe I am also guilty of not being specific enough, I don't know but I will sure pay more attention to that! Things like how many times a day, with water or without, with the meals or without, how much of each ingredient, anything that might help other mimic whatever we did!

Please do a web search on D-Ribose and Fibromyalgia if you have FMS.

I was dx with FMS over 20 years ago, and know what a beast it is.

I started taking D-Ribose about 2 months ago, and am totally sold on it. It is expensive, (MO) so I finally broke down and bought a big container in bulk from a web-site I found. It is the most economical way to go.

I take one teaspoon in water 3x a day. It is a natural sugar that somehow helps the mitochondria in your muscles to recover. Like I said, you need to do a web search and read about it yourself. I can't explain why it works scientifically. I just know it WORKS.

I also take: (for past 6 months or longer)

ACV (apple cider vinegar) 2tbsp with 1/2 tsp of baking soda every morning. It seems to give me energy on a daily basis. It also reduces heavy menstrual flow on the "bad days" - on these days I drink all throughout the day.

3tbsp Extra Virgin Coconut Oil per day.
(Start SLOW or you will have an upset stomach!)
This is the only oil I ingest - I also put it on my skin after a shower every morning. Buy the best you can afford, and it must be white - not gray colored. The white stuff is the good stuff!

Other things -

400mg Magnesium
2000iu Vitamin D3
2000mg Vitamin C
DIM (google that - good for estrogen metabolism!)
Progesta-care complete...Natural progesterone cream

I am a 49 year old woman with NO signs of menopause or peri-menopause. I am feeling pretty good, even with the FMS. Have not had a flare since I started the D-ribose.

Good luck to you if you have FMS - I know how horrible it is, and how much we all suffer - for the most part in silence due to most people not understanding.

FMS is one cr@ppy syndrome!

Vitamin D
Posted by Selena (Chula, Ga, Usa) on 02/16/2010

I read the information on your site about fibromyalgia and flouride poisoning but I didn't find any on the link between Vit. D deficiency and fibro. I just want to be sure that those suffering from this illness are aware of the belief that fibro. is considered by some to be an adult form of rickets. It manifests itself with signs of so many symptoms because if the body is deficient in Vit. D then it will become deficient in all of the minerals the body needs because without the vit. D in the colon minerals cannot be utilized and absorbed by the body. There is no substitute for the natural vit. D produced by the body by being exposed to natural sunlight....especially women are deficient because all of their makeup and body lotions block the UV rays of the sun. If you are suffering from fibromyalgia, please research the link between fibro. and vit. D deficiency.

Posted by Bee (Anon, Usa) on 02/17/2010

I'd like to second that. Symptoms of Vitamin D deficiency are similar to those of fibromyalgia- which I feel is a diagnosis often given when doctors just don't know what else it is. My sister presented these symptoms and was tested and found to be extremely deficient in Vitamin D. She is still working on recovering, since I believe this was one problem among others- but is worth looking into for anyone suffering. Especially since Vitamin D deficiency is more common than previously thought.

Oregano essential oil 6-8 drops with a carrier oil such as almond or coconut is very effective against fibromyalgia, arthritis, bursitis. Also Tarmarind juice can purge fluoride or so I've read. Cilantro will effectively purge heavy metals. The Vietnamese have been using it for years to do so. They make a soup with cilantro. There are several recipes online. It will purge, lead, aluminum, mercury from the system, through urination. There were many studies on this. After consuming this soup, the subject would urinate large amounts of metals out of their systems. Cilantro, is a staple in our home for that reason alone.

Dhea

What is high and what is low? I think the real answer to what is a high level of dhea may be a hidden. Just like the daily recommended value for magnesium which may be set super low considering some natural doctors are claiming 99.99% of us are all magnesium deficient. So maybe you should do your homework on what the natural world thinks regarding the mineral levels in your body and what the right amount of various minerals, vitamins, ect. is supposed to be. In the eyes of a natural approach friendly doctor rather than the enemy of our body, the Establishment.

In response to Carla from Seattle. You asked about D-Ribose, Carla. My 32 year old daughter has fibromyalgia and suffered all the awful debilitating symptoms....constant, extreme pain, bloating, IBS,insomnia, extreme fatigue, muscles which felt "bumpy" to the touch etc. I read of D-Ribose, bought from a web site in the USA, and she's never looked back. Takes the recommended dose of 500....is it mgs or gms?,1 scoop.....a day. A few months later I read a book called "The green solution".This is about spirulina. She came to taking about 6 tablets a day. This gave her more stamina and further decreased her pain levels.

She is not cured of fibromyalgia, can still get some very bad pain in her right neck and shoulder, especially in situations of stress, but the two supplements, plus magnesium, VitBcomplex, VitC, Apple Cider vinegar and honey and a strictly alkaline diet with very little meat, (only turkey or lamb and fish)and no wheat, enable her to live a full, busy life of quality.

I must add that she has chiropractic and remedial massage regularly and does certain stretches and exercises every day and walks about an hour at least 5 days a week.

I'm very proud of her persistance with all that she does. Many people know what they need to do to be healthy, but are not prepared to help themselves.

Good luck, Carla, from Wendy.

I have been using magnesium with malic acid every day for 7 months. I can tell you that magnesium with malic acid definitely helps with my pain, most particularly in my arms. I have tried not taking it for a few days here and there, and there is no doubt in my mind that it's helping. Since it appears many Americans are magnesium deficient and that most multi-vitamins don't contain enough magnesium, if any, I'm going to keep this in my supplement regime FOREVER.

Fluoride Connection
Posted by Ellen (Denton, Tx) on 04/26/2011

For me, the issue is definitely not with fluoride. I have been detoxing fluoride for months and the only thing that has helped me is anti-viral therapy, which makes sense as my fibromyalgia developed after a bout of the swine flu.

Fibromyalgia is not a new disease. In fact Charles Darwin had fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue syndrome. It was described as what Job had in the bible and there are ancient Greek /Roman accounts of fibromyalgia as well. It was only recently given its most modern name. It did not appear upon the advent of fluoride in municipal water supplies and antibiotics. For some, it could be the cause, but unfortunately there is no magic bullet cause and cure and we all have to figure out what works best for us and what our individual issues are. Mine were viral and metal toxicity issues as well as yeast.

May I suggest that you "cheat your body with a fake indoor light" by placing a desktop flourescent lamp next to your bed? Change the light bulb to an ultra-violet one, the ones being used to grow plants indoor. Or purchase a flourescent light bulb that is closest to sunlight or natural light. Leave it on for the whole night or after dark, do not wear any eye shade when going to sleep for your problems could be due to the reaction of your eyes to daylight, or lack of it.

Just a thought when I remembered we spend millions of dollars trying to develope a ball pen that can write in space while the Russians only use pencils!

Hope it will help! Regards!

Hello Debra,I hope this anectotal information is helpful for you. I have been taking cortisol for 5 years now for severe adrenal and pituitary insufficiency. The standard dosage for this condition should be 20mgs of cortisol daily in divided amounts. I have not been able to take less than 30mgs daily for 3yrs without severe symptoms. However; I have learned that most of these symptoms are the result of other causes as well as the side effects of the cortisol. Most people with this condition have a litany of imbalances, and blood tests, however limited, can reveal some of them. Electrolytes are usually a big issue. Usually, those with an insufficiency of an adrenal origin experience a low sodium/high potassium imbalance. People with an insufficient pituitary can experience a low sodium/low potassium imbalance. This is very generalized information. Chlorides and Co2 can also be abnormal or nearly such. Some of the symptoms you describe, Debra, could possibly be low potassium. I write this with great reserve because I only know so little of healing after a lifetime of research and experimentation. Low C02 can indicate low oxygen and low bicarbonates. Low chlorides can indicate low hydrochloric acid. In my own experience, low bicarbonates and low potassium have been the main sources of pain. Generally, cortisol supports the retention of sodium and the "wasting" of potassium. For my own case, I take potassium bicarbonate in larger amounts, and only occasionally take sodium bicarbonate, because the cortisol causes me to retain the sodium.(I also take potassium gluconate so as not to take too much bicarbonate.) As for the amounts you may need for now,Debra, Your instincts will be critical. Ted's recomendations are an excellent beginning, but you may need to adjust to your own condition and medication. Finally; I'm currently trying to approach the Origin of this condition and negotiate healing. It is hereditary, viral, microbial, etc., and I'm having great progress following numerous recomendations that you all suggest here at Earth Clinic. This is a very emotional Thank You to you all. Much of my pain and fatigue appears to be from the disemination of the herpes zoster virus(shingles) to my liver. I've been having consecutive outbreaks for three years straight. Much of the neuropathy has been in the liver area, radiating to the groin, kidney, and hip. There is at least one lesion(unbiopsied) on the liver at this time. I only suspect that these conditions are related because the outbreaks and the pain are simultaneous. I've been trying the remedies posted here on EC, and I'm having excellent results with the lysine 2000-4000mgs, sodium ascorbat e(2000-4000mgs, BHT(250mgs) combination daily. I had an outbreak today, but Its been nearly 2 mths. (outbreak free), and I had tried to stop the BHT and lower the lysine, sodium ascorbate. This protocol has greatly reduced my pain. I continue to take liver supporting herbs(dandelion and milk thistle). I am a supporter in full of treating the liver together with all conditions. Debra, when my symptoms are such that I have to increase the cortisol dosage;nausea, extreme weakness, headaches, and infections;it seems that those same symptoms are also that of liver dysfunction. I hope for you that finding the cause(s) of your own liver dysfunction and treating them may also bring you great relief. As for fatigue relief, I try numerous suggestions here again on EC. I have to be careful because some are overstimulating, causing anxiety, but I take smaller amounts of HP, iodine, and tyrosine for fatigue. For pain, fatigue, palpitations, neuropathy(also left hand and foot), shortness of breath, etc., I take potassium bicarbonate and potassium gluconate in divided doses, often 5000mgs daily at this time. I'm concerned about the causeneed for such a high dosage, but I have no negative side effects. I'm hopeful that in treating the liver and kidneys, that I may better balance this electolyte problem. Everyone is quite different in their needs. This is my best to you, Debra and all at EC, Connie

It's always good to keep an open mind and "look elsewhere".... As long as you still look at Fluoride. Saying you know someone who lived to 90 and drank fluoride is not scientific. I know people who lived to 90 and smoked cigaretters all their lives. On that evidence would you care for a smoke? And my brother had one bad Ford and thinks "all" fords are rotten cars. That is not scientific.

One example proves nothing. Especially since we don't know why they might have overcome fluoride, resisted carcinogenic fumes or why a machine produced a lemon car. Statistically there will always be exceptions. But most people go with averages and general trends. Living by expecting you will always be one of the exceptions is a dangerous way to live.

Indeed, "muscular rheumatism" was recognized in the late nineteenth century, probably called muscle aches, fibromyalgia, or morning stiffness nowadays. They were thought to be related to gout and rheumatism of the joints, and, incidentally, also to skin diseases such as dandruff, pityriasis, psoriasis, eczema, and lichen (more info: Henry Granger Piffard).

In Phillips's Materia Medica: Inorganic Substances, it says on page 100 of the third edition (1904):

"In muscular rheumatism [the iodides] are useful, especially in those cases where the pains are made worse by warmth, as in bed at night."

→ Sounds like morning stiffness / fibromyalgia.

To Patti from Canton, Ohio (11/24/07) I don't know what T3 therapy is, but I would be taking L-lysine 2grams (2000mgms) 4 times a day for any virus, including EpsteinBarr.

Joyce, thank you for your advice about L lysine. Compounded T3 therapy is used to treat hypothyroidism. T3 is the active form of thyroid hormone, it is converted from the inactive form T4. I have been ill for many years but I feel I am getting well very slowly. My advice to everyone is to eliminate as much of the halogen chemicals as you can from water, diet toothpaste and medications. Ph balancing has helped me tremendously. The most benefical exercise by far is just to walk and some mild stretching. whatever works for you. be diligent with your healing program and never give up.

Patti: A malic acid, with some baking soda to reduce its acidity also helps the fibromyalgia in addition to the magnesium. However, the key issue of this condition I have found is the alkalinity as the most important factor.

Common remedies for antivirals I used is zinc acetate or zinc gluconate 50 mg, and sometimes the olive leaf extract. For antivirals to work best, the body must be alkalized first and no sugar as it would fuel the virus.

One extra tip from a fibromyalgia sufferer is 1/4 teaspoon of baking soda plus 3 drops of 3% H2O2 in one glass taken in the morning to help the energy level.

Borax

Two of my kids have 'tried' to come down with colds during the last two weeks. When my son's hit, he was coughing so hard he was nearly vomiting. My daughter woke up coughing, a very sore throat and her voice was almost gone. Usually I have them do the inhaling of peroxide a few times a day and give them at least 1/4 cup of organic vinegar with 1/4 teaspoon of cayenne pepper, a little cinnamon and water each day. This time I added Borax water (1/8 teaspoon to 1 liter of water) to the mix-and their colds were gone in less than 12 hours. No one was more stunned than I was that it worked so fast! But I shouldn't have been surprised. I have had painful joints from fibromyalgia for years, but sometimes the pain in my right shoulder is almost unbearable (I'm right-handed). The last flare had been going on about 2 months and I was getting very little sleep, which was what spurred my finally giving in and trying the Borax. Within three days the severe pain was gone and I was back to just the normal pain! Now I just need to make myself drink it EVERY day and maybe all the pain will go away.

But, back to the original subject, everyone says there is no cure for the common cold. After what we saw earlier this month, I have to disagree!

I have a question on the borax treatment of fibromyalgia. I understand the ingredients and the 5 days on 2 days off but, what I don't understand is for how long. Is this something you would do everyday for the rest of your life or just short periods of time? Thanks for any help in this.

I dont think fluoride is the sole contributor to fibromyalgia as the city I live in doesnt have fluoridated water and I have had fibro for years.Would be good if the cause was discovered though.

Dear Lou,

I had to smile. I think it tastes just like beer, too! Now I have not had a beer in decades but that is what I think when I have it. My husband says it does NOT taste like beer. :)

However it it does not give me a headache. Sorry it gave one to you.
