Oil Pulling
Posted by Tara (Melbourne, Australia) on 07/28/2007
★★★★★

I began oil pulling 7 months ago and I suffered with chronic fatigue for 14 years. It cleared up that issue within a matter of days. I was confined to bed rest and had limited mobility but the oil pulling dramatically shifted things for me so much so I am now more fit and active and don't need to rest. I had been livimg this way for years and oil pulling gave me my life back. It also cleared up a skin problem I had when nothing else seemed to work. Recently, I came down with fibromyalgia and my doctor would not be prepared to treat me as it is not a "recognised illness". I was in chronic pain and was suicidal. I could barely move my tongue inside my mouth and could not walk. I was so ill, I had never experienced anything like the severity of this before. I kept oil pulling and changes occured incrementally every day until after a couple of weeks my health was back to normal. Oil pulling has changed my life and I would recommend it to anyone. It is a POWERFUL remedy.

I have found that Jacob Teitelbaum's clinic for Fibromyalgia to be helpful. They are thorough in blood work, found a mycoplasma I was taking a prescribed drug for to be rid of, and also have recommended D-ribose, a long chain polylsaccharide that seems to help with fatigue and energy levels.

Linseed oil (refrigerated), Tyrosine and Echinacea cures wrinkles, arthritis, varicose vein pain, Parkinson's Disease, fibromyalgia. 5 tablespoons Linseed oil and 2 echinacea tablets 3 times a day. Don't take calcium, evening primrose and glucosamine if you have any of the above conditions. Just try to eat less meat and plenty of fruit and vegetables. Fresh vege juice is very good also try 1 clove of fresh garlic a day. Tyrosine stops the shakes of Parkinson's very quickly. You will feel so much better.

My family used to see a physician's assictant rather than a 'regular' doctor. She was very much into herbs and vitamins, and would tell us how to make things like our own echinacea tincture. She also told us that if we took echinacea on a daily basis, it would stop working for us after awhile. She said ten days on, ten days off was a good way to go.

I started taking two teaspoons of ACV three times a day only six days ago. I am taking it to ease the pain of fibromyalgia and my pain is getting less and less! I plan on continuing it but am having a hard time drinking it.

To Sherrine in FL. I started drinking acv a year ago different ways and had a hard time with it but it was worth it to get rid of the inflamation in my low back. I suffer from spinal stenosis and scoliosis. The best way I have found to drink acv is to put about 1 or 2 ozs. in a glass of vegetable juice. It makes it easier to drink for me.

I am so very pleased to have been able to find this website. It has really helped me a great deal!

I love this site too! I just found it. I was diagnosed with MS, chronic fatigue syndrome and fibromyalgia two summers ago. Yikes! I am treating my body with an all-natural approach. As I am sitting here, I am drinking my nightly apple cider vinegar tea (yeah, I know yummy eh). I will post all that I am doing one day but I just wanted to agree with the above-poster that this site is great! I can't wait to find out more good natural things to help myself.

These are good tips on this page. Fibromyalgia seems to have a better response when alternative (more holistic) therapies are used and it takes time to "undo" the damage that has accumulated. My experience shows that by avoiding drugs, you can recover faster (and reverse fibromyalgia). Here's what I did:

I turned to yoga (very low impact, what seniors and bedridden people might do). With that circulation in the muscles improves and toxicity is also expelled. Diet is very important (avoid milk, sugars and refined products). I believe the candida diet helps to give your whole immune system a break so that it can heal naturally. Detoxification with herbs is also important to get rid of the toxins that have accumulated in the body (no side effects with these). If there is depression, add B vitamins to combat it and also read positive materials and keep in the company of positive and supportive people. Remember that thoughts are temporary and can change (do not give them importance as they will change eventually!) Be strong internally....you can reverse this condition. Do not underestimate the healing power of REST. The body lets you know when you need it (just listen!) High energy vitamins and supplementation of magnesium helped me as well. Acupuncture helps to get rid of pain and restore energy flow to help it get balanced (pick someone good!) Deal with your emotions and let go of whatever you are holding on to. Be good to yourself. Forgive yourself and others around you and see the power of healing (be receptive) change your condition. I was diagnosed almost two years ago, came off all medication within two months after beginning yoga. Turning to natural alternatives has improved/practically reversed this condition. I can now think about going back to work. Find a good naturopathic doctor who has worked with fibromyalgia.

Teresa do you mean the Thunder God Vine? I got mine from an Ebay provider and bought the powder but I have to measure it daily so the capsules may be more convenient.

As for the Inclined Bed Therapy, I used 2 bricks under each leg at the top end of the bed.

Yes, reducing inflammation has really helped the pain subside significantly.

Test for Ehler's Danlos Disease, Type III
Posted by Priscilla (Birmingham, Al) on 02/16/2016
★★★★☆

Hi. I'm new to Earth Clinic and think it's a great way to find information on Chronic Fatigue and other diseases.

I'm a 55 year old woman, with Fibromyalgia, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome; also multiple injuries (3 ruptures discs; ) history of endometriosis, etc. My medical history was long and extensive-including 8 surgeries; a visit to Mayo clinic, etc.

Eventually, I added an FMS specialist to my pain management physician, and PT. Interestingly enough, he found the cause of my CFS, FMS, etc. I have a genetic disease, Ehler's Danlos Disease, type III. This explained all my diagnoses. Then my rheumatologist suggested a clinical trial of Famciclovir 250 mg., three times a day.

By the way, my history includes Epstein Barr disease, several years before my symptoms started. The Famciclovir is supposed to bolster the immune system.

I was quite skeptical, but tried it. Three years late, I'm taking mostly Advil, instead of daily Rx pain meds. I use those only occasionally, now. Supplements helping include: Magnesium Malate; D3; and D-Ribose.

I am able to exercise now-without hat automatically throwing me into a flare. I haven't had a real flare in three years. Sleep better, less brain fog, also.

So, my comfort level is much better, and disability less. There is no genetic cure for EDS III at this time, but the : clinical trial; Advil (joint and back pain, ) and neuropathy meds. (Lyrics;) plus gentle PT have helped. My family has been supportive, as well as friends as church.

Overall, I'm much better compared to ten years ago. My FMS Rheumatologist (and the research) tell me that my disease is sometimes the cause of FMS and or CFS. Having the correct diagnosis is critical in determining treatment.

General information about EDSIII is available online. A Rheumatologist who specializes in FMS can make the diagnosis. He/she can then determine treatment, if you have it.

So, if there is a question that EDSIII might be the primary cause of CFS or FMS, I would strongly recommend seeing one. My life has improved a lot since I started seeing the rheumatologist, and continues to improve.

I am wondering about the benefits or dangers of Far Infrared Saunas, especially pertaining to fibromyalgia. Does it help muscle pain?

Infrared Sauna
Posted by Mike (Denver, Colorado) on 10/01/2013

Julieh: Please, I beg of you, do not spend your money on man made gizmos, gadgets, and thingamajigs. Trust in God's Goodies. Far infrared cures everybody of everything. Water from volcanoes and mountain springs emit far. Raw organic produce emits far. Ferments emit the most far. Cooked conventionally grown food does not emit far. This is why everybody is sick and suffering. Far infrared machines do not cure anybody of anything because they do not have any nutrients. Raw organic produce and ferments have both nutrients and emit far.

Posted by Goldencat (Akron,oh) on 10/02/2013

Not dangerous unless you are very heat sensitive. It is a dry sauna. You must drink a lot of water before, during, after.

It's well thought of as a detox method. However, expensive to do at a doctor's office! ($70/session) If your holistic dr or naturopath is supervising, you're safe enough.

Do you know the causes behind the fibro? Did it start from a certain incident, creep up slowly, manifest after major family troubles?

Maybe other detox methods would be cheaper? Epsom and dead sea salt soaks... Skin brushing... See how you react to these, before something more dramatic. Do you know how your body reacts to a detox session - sick after it, or energized?

My dr suggested this as alternative to colonics, given my own issues.

About that Fibromyalgia and microbe connection; I have read the same thing a couple of times. Maybe a specialty virus like polio or ALS? Or is the mirobe a geeneral system wide infection that weakens the immune system either overloading antibodies or reducing their effectiveness? Would love to have more info on that Fibro-Microbe connect if you find anything.

Minocin, Bromelain
Posted by Prioris (Fort Pierce, Fl, Usa) on 05/31/2013

Remedy: Minocin
Ailment: Fibromylagia

I had Fibromyalgia for over 30 years with my CFIDS/ME. About 15 years ago, I was researching and came across researchers using Minocycline for Lupus. I was also looking at the Garth Nicholson protocol.

I decided to try Minocin which is the brand name for generic minocycline. Almost within 2 days, my fibromylagia symptoms started to melted away. I got some more minocycline prescriptions but my progress reversed.

I decided to go back to minocin and my progress continued. It seems many minocyclines batches are of bad quality. After a while I didn't need it anymore. Fifteen years later and my fibromyalgia is controlled and I sleep well so I still don't need the minocin anymore.

This is my recommendation. You could bypass a doctor presciption by buying and test the antibiotic minocycline from a pet supply place. This is low cost route also. Take bromelaine with it. This is very important. Bromelain increases the effectiveness of antibiotics so may be strong enough to work or give you a good enough indication of it's effectiveness. It also will prevent resistance since it removes any protective sheath from bacteria. If that doesn't work, you could optionally ask a doctor for a test prescription just to see if it works.

I tolerate that antibiotic very well so never run into any problems. I took it for two years to test it against CFIDS/ME. It is suppose to cross the blood brain barrier the best. You will likely know pretty quickly also. Always take Bromelaine with antibiotics. There may be a more natural antibiotic out there so this could be starting point.

Forget about what those mainstream doctors say. The cause of Fibromyalgia is some type of infection. Claiming that it is a defect in some muscles is absurd.

Minocin, Bromelain
Posted by Prioris (Fl, US) on 08/21/2014

I need to add additional information to this post. Most generic minocycline won't work. Only a few generics work since they are made similar to original minocin. All minocyclines are not made with the same quality. Most are crap.

I would not initially use bromelain when using normal minocin dose since it may increase blood levels 5 or 6 times. It is just something to experiment with especially with crappy minocycline brands. Some people experience herx so could be too much for them.

Can you please tell me how I can get minocin & bromelian

Minocin, Bromelain
Posted by Terri (Texas/usa) on 01/05/2015

How will I know to try Minocin if the pet store brand made your symptoms worse? What made you think to try the prescription route (other than mere desperation - I'm there myself)? Seems like I'd be afraid to try same med (generic or name brand) if it made my situation decline. Just a nervous question from someone thats had FMS for 28 years.

Minocin, Bromelain
Posted by Prioris (Fl, UA) on 01/05/2015

I can't find any pet brands so one needs to go to other sources. Just because one generic minocycline brand didn't work, doesn't mean another won't. One needs to experiment with different brands.

The biggest problem with getting the original minocin is cost. It cost a fortune. I think it is currently made by Valiant pharmaceutical. It could cost over $800 for just 60 tablets. If money is no object, I would get it. For most people it is too expensive..

There have been many positive reports on the ranbaxy and Teva monocycline.

Even though ranbaxy is a company from India, their US brand is manufactured in the US. It can be bought from walmart at low cost. With low cost medicare plan, I got a ranbaxy 60 100mg capsules prescription filled for $20. Whenever you fill a prescription from anyone, I would make sure they tell you who the manufacturer is because sometimes they will change suppliers.

You can get enteric bromelain from supplement place online. You need to get a prescription somehow; ask a local doctor. ask roadback.org website to see if doctors in your state or area.

for anyone with chronic disease, they need to look into minocin and the success it has had with many chronic diseases.

I want to tell you my story of how I developed FMS, and what has and has not helped me with my fibromyalgia.

I slowly developed some of the symptoms of fibromyalgia (IBS, dermatitis, allodynia, aneamia, low immunity, PMS and irregular, painful menses, etc. ) throughout my childhood until I became very ill at the age of 16, also developing chronic muscular and joint pain, extreme fatigue, brain fog, weakness and a host of other symptoms. I now believe the onset was gradual due to a slowly worsening condition of my gut, partially thanks to the frequent use of antibiotics (as I was often very sick as a child) without probiotics (my parents gave me Yakult to drink for probiotics, unaware of the fact that I was lactose-intolerant and never drank the stuff because it made me feel sick).

Over the next 2 years, I slowly began figuring out which treatments help me to manage the condition: occupational therapy, physiotherapy, not eating foods I was intolerant to, using the right skincare products, gentle exercise and mindfulness meditation. I highly recommend all these treatments. I experimented with fluoride toothpaste and fluoride-free toothpaste for a few months and decided that fluoride definitely brought on intense flare-ups. I now use organic toothpaste, which is expensive but worth it. A cheaper alternative is one of the Sensodyne toothpastes - the one which uses strontium chloride instead of fluoride. I noticed no negative effects from using that. I grew up drinking rain water but whenever I drink tap water I have to filter it or it makes me sick. As far as skincare products go, I recommend MooGoo or ecopure.

BUT in the last couple months, I have discovered the most helpful remedy yet: the Leaky Gut Cure Program by Karen Brimeyer. She proposes that leaky gut can cause fibromyalgia, and that by following her program leaky gut can be healed. (This is a similar theory and treatment to GAPS, but it is a lot cheaper to buy Karen's program than to follow the GAPS program. )The program involves eating certain foods, avoiding certain foods, reducing toxins in your household products and clothing, and following healthy lifestyle practices, such as observing appropriate sleep hygiene and many other things. It also involves supporting your adrenal glands, ridding your body of pathogens and healing the lining of the gut through supplementation. I had read and tried many other similar programs in naturopath books, which only seemed to make me sicker. But this program makes me feel better, not worse, and I can assure you that it is perfectly nutritionally balanced. My pain has decreased (I no longer take pain medications), I can think more clearly, I am sleeping much more soundly and feel refreshed when I awake (rather than stiff, sore and exhausted), I have been feeling a lot more energetic and people are saying that I look really well. And I tell them that it is because I feel really well! I have never felt so alive in all my life!

I cannot give exact details of the program here due to copyright issues, but I will tell you that Karen Brimeyer's program is surprisingly cheap and can be found at www.leakygutcure.com. Anyone with fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue or IBS should google GAPS to see if they think that they suffer from it - and if they think it likely that they do, they should try the leaky gut cure for at least a week. Even if it can not cure everyone with FMS, I am sure that it can help many people with it - so it is definitely worth a try!

I now feel confident that I am healthy enough to continue with my university degree and work a part-time job too!

I hope that at least one person reads my post, tries the leaky gut cure and becomes healthy and energetic!

After reading through all these posts and hearing about the increase of FMS [Fibromyalgia Syndrome] in women and flouride being in many meds, I'm wondering if more women are suffering from FMS because they take/took birth control for many years. I took it for about 15 years. I thought I'd just throw that out there.

My massage therapist suggested I drink alkaline water so what I've read here seems to jive with that and now it all makes more sense. I'm concerned about trying the ACV because I have barrett's esophagus and am supposed to avoid acids... Then I read to add baking soda to change it from an acid to a salt... you all should be chemists.

This site is very interesting. I'm glad I ran across it while doing research for my stepmom who was just diagnosed with lung cancer.

Thanks for all the great info!

Hi Mary Margaret, sorry about your condition. Have you ever tried Tamarind Juice and Wheat Grass Juice. Tamarind Juice will remove the flouride poison and wheat grass juice will produce pure blood and this pure blood will rejuvenate the tissues and organs. replenish your bones. You have nothing to loose, just a simple Tamarind Juice at least to remove the poison.

Wheat grass juice is tough to make as we are heading to winter. But you can buy from dynamic greens, their quality is good. I used their wheat grass juice and it is nice.

Here are the foods and conditions to avoid strictly.

  • No Flouridated Toothpaste
  • No Flouridated Bottled Water
  • No Microwave Cooking
  • If possible you can change your place for 1 month where toxicated surroundings are less.

Here is my tamarind juice recipe link: https://www.earthclinic.com/cures/fluoride2.html#TAMARIND

You can continuously take it for 4 weeks daily then give a gap of 1 week and again continue for 2 weeks or So. There after weekly 3 times. Be informed, don't take more than 2 glass tamarind juice daily and don't take continuously for 2 months. I take Once in a week, to remove flouride poison as my city water is flouridated.

Try it, this may do wonders. Who knows sometimes a lifelond Chronic Disease can be cure by a Dollar value of food. Nature has its invincible power.

Good Luck

I wanted to put this out there--I did not want to post it before running it by the site. By the way because of the site I am off lipitor now after 12 years.

FYI--my wife was diagonosed with fibromyalgia in 1997. We tried all the doctors, MRI etc. We have the best health insurance. Finally tried something called bio-puncture--injections of natural remedies directly into her back for pain. Worked slightly but it took me to find a master herbalist in Phila. Well long story short--he tested her blood with a radiotronics machine. She had traces of lupus, pagents disease, bursitus. He made a homeopath remedy for a two week period. After two weeks we went back and retested. He found another four things that were there also. Another two week remedy. Well--after a month her pain all but vanished. She has been on muscle relaxers and pain pills for years.

To top it all off I was told I had herpes in my twenties. I made him test me and was told I had bartholonis. It mimics herpes and he made me a remedy. I used to take everclr which was an immune booster and only had problems a couple of times a year. Well I stopped taking the herbs and no sign of the blisters. I thought I had herpes for thirty years and never had it.

Since there is nothing like this on here, I wanted to let you know. I tell everyone about the site. I believe this man is a miracle worker. I am taking my wife back again soon to be retested. How can something like this not be out there? You can check his site--at first I thought the testimonials were bogus--but not anymore. His site is earthmotherherbs.Org. By no means am I promoting it--from what he tells me very few people are trained in this radiotronics machine. What is earthclincs take on this? Of course I don`t want my name used in the herpes section but this was a miracle. Please reply with your thoughts.

I've been trying to find causes and links to my fibro for years. I think that you should include questions relation to consumption of the nightshade plants (potatoes, tomatoes, peppers of all kinds, eggplant, tomatillos paprika and 'spices' which usually contain paprika. For forty years I have had periodic severe low back pain and stiffness relieved in the last 5 weeks by avoiding these foods. The neurotoxins contained in these affect people differently and I believe that they are a big cause of fibro, chronic fatigue and RA.

These foods have crept into every meal and daily menus with a subsequent increase in dosage.

I have avoided the night shade plants also, and have less fibro flair-ups. I've also noticed that I react badly to foods containing citric acid. I beleive soy may also be a problem. I also seem to react poorly to medicines containing Magneseum Stearate and Stearic acid. Plus avoiding tap water seems to help. Does any of this sound familiar?

The potatoes, tomatoes, make my body hurt and oranges and peppers burn my skin. I can't use cleansers with orange oil in them either as they burn me. The plug in perfumey things people use in their homes must be orange based too as they also burn my eyes and are a horrible attack to me. I wish they would ban them.
