Olive Leaf
Posted by Addy (Flowery Branch, Ga) on 05/11/2011

I am going tomorrow to a dermatologist to see about having a plantar wart on the bottom of my foot removed. I've had this thing for a really long time and enough is enough.. So I'm biting the bullet. My friend's father is a herbal doctor and he suggested since I've had it as long as I have, go ahead and get it removed but to follow up with taking a 2 a day regimen of olive leaf oil for 3 months to address the virus in my system.

Does anyone have experience with taking olive leaf oil?

Garlic

I wish my mom had known about this when I was a kid and had warts on my hands that the dermatologist would freeze off (extremely painful, like putting a cigarette out on your skin!! ) and it doesn't work, they come back, plus I still have huge scars on my hands :(

So as an adult, when I got a wart on my nose, right before my wedding, I was horrified! I read somewhere about garlic juice to remove warts, so I thought I would try it, and I was amazed! It was very easy, I sliced a fresh clove of garlic and dabbed small amount of the juice on the wart with my fingertip, careful not to touch the healthy skin around it. I did this each night before bed, without covering it and within a couple days the wart turned black and fell off never to return again!! That was 4 years ago!! This website is wonderful!! Thankyou EC!!

Onions

I used onion to treat my warts, they dissapeared and never got any warts again. It is fairly easy and if you do it properly, takes only a few days of treatment. I simply applied fresh onion juice on them. If you cut an onion slice and take a layer and break it in 2, there will be fresh juice juice coming out of there. Squeeze that right on the wart, make sure you soak it in Juice. You can also rub the wart with that side of the layer where you made the cut, where the fresh juice is. Just let it dry, no Bandage needed. Now your skin will smell so if you have to go to work, do it at night time. Ideally you should do it 2-3 times a day, but once a day will work too, it'll take a bit longer to fall off. Put the onion on the fridge and next time cut a new slice. The secret is to not just rub the onion on it, but make sure you soak the wart in juice or rub the juicy part on it. I only repeat this because I gave the advise to a friend and he was not doing it properly. When he started applying the juice, the warts on his hand and foot were gone in a few days, after trying lots of remedies with no results. This treatment leaves no scar and there is no pain. I hope this helps.

Petty Spurge (Euphorbia Peplus)
Posted by Leanne (Adelaide, Suoth Australia) on 12/16/2010

My daughter had a number of large warts on her hands which she contracted about 5 years ago. Multiple visits to a doctor for burning, cutting, freezing didn't work. Neither did any of the over the counter remedies. We tried the ACV, the duct tape etc from here. When she used the ACV recommended here, her arm ached unbearably after a day or so of use.

Anyway, I did a little herbal research of my own. Now it's hard to convince a young woman (which she is) that the use of a weed from the garden will eradicate warts, when we had used so many rememdies and medical procedures that had failed. Anyway, the weed from the garden is called Petty spurge (or botanical name Euphorbia Peplus) It is quite widespread here in southern Australia in gardens. It likes damp cool conditions. It is a low growing weed. It is also called Radium weed and can be used similarly for little skin cancers and sun spots. Anyway, when you break the stem of the plant it oozes out a white milky sap, which contains a number of alkaloids.

BIG Warning do not use this plant near your eyes.... It can cause blindness. Likewise do not eat it... Otherwise you'll find out why it's called SSSS... Purge! Anyway rub the sap on the warts and cover them with a bandaid-so you don't touch it and then rub it in your eyes. Do this for a few days and you will see results in a short time. Try not to get it on the good skin around the warts if you can. If the good skin becomes red or sore, discontinue for a few days until the skin heals up again.

For my daughter, it took a couple of weeks to (finally!! ) remove the big warts. We are still doing mop up operations on a couple of little ones which we had ignored while doing the bigger ones, but they too are responding to the weed! There are pictures of the weed on the net, so that you can make sure you find the right one. You can also use a herb (weed in some places) called Greater Celandine, which also has a sap that can be put on the warts. Anyway, good luck to all.

Zinc at 100mg of elemental zinc per day (as zinc gluconate in my case)got rid of a large wart I had had for 14 years after about 6 weeks. Below is the abstract of a trial done on the effects of zinc on warts.

I had a wart on my face for ~10 years. I tried ACV, urine, duct tape, banana peel, aspirin, and maybe more I've forgotten. Read Ted from Bangkok's post about zinc, looked up the study and gave it a try. I took 50mg four times a day. Took more than a month, but one day I looked and it was gone!

Dietary Changes

Maybe it would be helpful if you told us which books you have been reading?

I do eat a lot of salad with all kinds of vegetables in them but my warts have never fallen off. As far as green smoothies go unfortunately I don't like them but I have been drinking quite a bit of vegetable juice mixed with fruit as well for the past 8 months. Don't forget that your body needs fat so eating the salads with no dressing might not be a good idea. Healthy fats are good for you and I can tell you that since my naturopath told me that my skin was too dry because I wasn't eating enough fat at least the skin on my face is a lot smoother (my legs are still too dry but maybe that will change soon)!

Coconut Oil

★☆☆☆☆

Coconut oil does not work for warts on feet and hands. Apple cider vinegar does. I use no other moisterizer for over a year on my feet and hands everyday, and I saw no difference on the warts on my hands.

ACV, Banana Peels, Tea Tree Oil

I used Apple Cider Vinegar and banana peels to get rid of what seemed to be small flat warts on my face. They were small, round, slightly raised, and skin colored and appeared around my mouth, eyebrows, eyes, and neckline. The skin would get slightly thick and would slough off with a facial scrub, but would just grow back. Well, I looked for a treatment and found this site and decided to combine them. I first started taping small pieces of well-ripened banana peel (not too brown though) to those areas for about a week without any real progress. While keeping up with this routine I learned about ACV and tea tree oil. So, I combined about 2 cups of purified water with 1/4 or so of ACV and about 8 drops of tea tree oil. Shake very well to combine all ingredients and use as a toner after washing your face. I used the toner and then kept using the banana peels on my face over night (but did NOT use duck tape because it caused some warts on my neckline to spread adn turn light brown!) They cleared up in about 3 weeks. Just be careful - tea tree oil is potent. I wouldn't put it directly on my face. Diluting it, as in the toner above, if you are going to use it at all, especially on your face, is highly recommended.

Hydrogen Peroxide

I diluted 35 percent food grade hydrogen peroxide with distilled water to make 3 percent hydrogen peroxide. I used it on a wart type thing on my left pinky on the left side of the nail. I used a spray bottle to spray on it every 3 hours or so for about 4 or 5 days. I heard from another website that someone was healed of genital herpes with hydrogen peroxide. That is what gave me the idea to use it on my wart. I feel that it could of worked faster using some other products on the shelf but hey it still worked.

Blackstrap Molasses
Posted by Mae (Cape Neddick, Maine) on 02/08/2010

I am wondering if blackstrap molasses, the brands that have over 700mg of potassium per serving, is comparable to the amount of potassium in banana peels and therefore would be as effective on plantars warts?

My 5 yr. old son had 2 warts on his finger, we tried to freeze the off a doctors twice.I also tried ductape for a day or two but started applying dmso on a band aid at night ant within a week it went away. His mother had one on her finger before she was pregnant so I guess she must have passed to him. She also put dmso on a band aid and the wart left as well. I got the dmso at a health food store.

Bleach

I had planters warts that covered my entire heel. The surgeon said he would have to remove my entire heel down to the bone in order to remove the painful planters warts. I then went to an old family practice DR. He suggested that I soak my heel in straight chlorine bleach. I soaked my heel in the bleach 3 times a day for about 10 minutes each time. Within about 3 weeks the warts were gone!

EC: Some doctors might question the wisdom of soaking any part of the body in bleach, but soaking the toes in a dilution of bleach and water is a widely recommended remedy for nail fungus.

To "G from SF,CA"....have you ever tried the match cure? Or used duct tape to alleviate a wart? Don't knock it unless you've tried it....and if it didn't work for you - OH Well, don't knock it anyhow. Didn't your momma teach you it isn't nice to call anyone 'stupid'??

The only form of stupidity I'm aware of is ignorance. If you had actually tried for yourself you would realize this isn't as crazy as you make it seem. I'm not injuring my child, nor myself, because the same technique worked for me.

EC: Sorry Corey, that nasty post from "G" should never have been posted on the site. Apologies.

Seed warts on hands...

Just read about banana peels getting rid of warts. I have a cleaner remedy for seed warts on the hands. I started getting these seed (tiny) warts when I was 15. I tried a few OTC remedies that didn't work. By the time I was 45 all the first three (largest)knuckles on both hands were covered by one big wart. One bled sometimes. I finallly talked to my doctor about them and he said to wait until he got his lazer because they were too deep. In the meantime, I attended a seminar put on by a master herbalist and someone in the audience asked what to do about seed warts. She said to take the inside of a lemon rind and rub them each night and in less than a week they'd be gone. I tried it on my left hand first and to my amazement, they started to fade with the first application. After five nights they were gone and and skin was as normal as if I'd never hand them. Then, because I've read that sometimes they go away on their own, I tried the right hand, one finger at a time and the same thing happened. One by one, the warts went away as I did each finger, and they've never returned. And I lived with those ugly things for 30 years and lemon rind got rid of them in no time. I don't know if it works on any other type of wart.

ACV, Banana Peel, Duct Tape
Posted by Marie (South Bend, In) on 12/29/2009

I recently grew a filiform wart on my face right below my lip. I found information on the internet about using iodine on warts. since I take lugols solution(iodine/iodide) I started applying the lugols to the wart. within a week a large portion of the wart fell off. It took about 4 weeks for the whole thing to dissappear, but the iodine worked. From everything I have read and from my alternative doc, warts on the face should not be frozen.

ACV, Banana Peel, Duct Tape
Posted by Scott S (Pen Argyl Pa) on 01/05/2016

This is something I was using for another issue but it seems to be affecting the wart I've had on my finger for several years. Zinc. I take 2 - 30 mg capsules of opti-zinc split up over the day. I've been taking the zinc for about a week and the wart is significantly smaller, about half the size. If it does completely eliminate the wart, I'll still continue it for another week just to be sure the virus is completely dead.

This is something you have to be careful with. Too much zinc could be toxic. It also interferes with the absorption of other nutrients, particularly copper.

For your daughter, since she's so young and small, I'd recommend much smaller dosages. Also, don't take it around meals or with other vitamins as it may block other needed nutrients. It might also be good to supplement with some copper but not within 2 hours of taking the zinc. Don't over do the copper either. For her, 1mg a day should be more than enough.

Apple Cider Vinegar

my 8 year old cousin had 3 planters warts on the bottom of his feet, they got medicine, and razors to cut off the top part of the wart from the doctor for it but it was not working. I told them about pure raw unfiltered organic apple cider vinigar, and after 3 days of applying it 2 or 3 times a day and not washing it off, the warts fell off. We still apply the vinigar as a precaution and only for a few days after they fell off. Good luck this worked fast, and was painless!

Yes the ACV treatment for curing warts worked! At night, I covered the wart with a piece of cotton ball I soaked with ACV then a bandaid. After a while it does burn, so I took a couple of nights off and just kept the wart covered with a bandaid during the day. Within 2 weeks the wart turned black, and with a little help from the tweezer was gone. There is no trace of the wart at all. I am a firm believer in ACV.

Aspirin

Many years ago I discovered a remedy for warts. Take an aspirin and melt it with a small bit of water. Take a toothpick & take a small amount of the melted aspirin and put it right on the wart...do NOT get any on your skin (only on the wart) as it will eat the skin. Put a band-aid over it for a day or two...Then you may want to take the band-aid off. If the wart has turned black leave it alone. If it did not turn black put a bit more fresh aspirin on it & cover again for another day or two. Then take band-aid off & forget about it. You'll look one day shortly after & the wart will have disappeared...Just do NOT get the aspirin on the skin... Cathy
