My husband had a wart on his hand for years, and he had tried freezing it off several times. Finally, I found the ACV idea, so he soaked a cotton ball in ACV, put it over the wart, and secured it with a bandaid. I believe he left it on overnight. After 2-3 treatments, it started to turn black, and finally it went away. It has now been gone for over a year.

The banana peels work for warts. I took about 2 weeks for the warts to turn black and die off on my children's feet. They were so happy. Thanks Earth Clinic

Update from my last post. After about 2 months of treatment with ACV and cotton balls I am free of warts. It took two months because I took my time, allowing healing time and stopping treatment while on my periods. Also, because I had more than a few warts the ACV hurt after a while, and some days I chose not to deal with the darn things. But today I have no warts and it feels good to be freed from them. It has been over two months without them.

ACV treatment did not work on a wart I had on a corner of my lips. I applied it every night for 3 weeks, and put a bandaid on it. It grew white, and got the black spot, and part of it fell of, but then the rest wouldn't go away. Needless to say the whole thing was extremely painful. I stopped treatment after 3 weeks, and it grew back. I was pretty disappointed as I'd used Apple Cider Vinegar successfully before on a wart on my foot. I'm now trying tea tree oil, so hopefully that will work.

I has a plantar wart on my foot appeared about 3 months back. In fact initially I didnt know wt is it, gradually when the pain started coming I consulted an idiot doctor who said it is a corn and u have to do a surgery to remove it. The surgery was too painful and I had to live with the bandage for 1.5 months more before the flush and new skin came. The sadest part is after couple of weeks of healing of the surgical wound a cluster of warts appeared near to the old wart. For past few weeks I am in real depression and desperately surfing to find a real cure for this. After reading so many testimonials regarding banana peel I am going to try it today onwards. I have a small doubt regarding the application, after putting the banana peel on the wart and covering it with duct tape is it ok if I wash my foot any time during the day? will reverse the effect of banan peel? is there any problem if I use water to wash my foot with the peel & duct tape on my foot? Please reply, Jithu

I've noticed that it's actually not a good idea to exfoliate or pick at a wart being treated with ACV. You're basically exposing the virus and giving it a direct route to the surrounding raw/damaged skin. I did that with a wart on the side of my lip, and it didn't work well. Now, I'm doing the Apple Cider Vinegar with a q-tip as often during the day as I remember, leaving the scab alone, and not touching at all. Within 3 days of doing that, it's already turned brownish, and making all those black roots that mean it's working, which more than where I got before. I think the scab suffocates and isolates the wart, and when soaked with Apple Cider Vinegar still lets it reach underneath to kill the wart. The pain is also enormously less.

I was very open-minded as to wither or not cider vinegar would work for warts. I had one on my face (how embarrassing). I tried household vinegar but it didn't do anything at all. With the cider vinegar, however, within 4 days it was gone! Would recommend it to anyone, even those who don't believe it is possible to remove a wart within a short time (I was one of those)

My son had a planter wart on his big toe. I found the banana peel treatment more effective than the freezing method. The most effective was the application of Iodine tincture that contained 25mg/ml of potassium iodide. I applied it every night with a cotton bud. It worked incredibly fast and I literally peeled the wart off. Thanks for all the comments as the doctor I went to said it would take weeks of treatment to get rid of it.

After freezing, banana peels, doctor visits etc ACV has gotten rid of my plantar on my foot. I am very very happy I found this website! I had a huge beast on the ball of my foot that was spreading, ACV and duct tape was applied on cotton balls overnight as often as I could. The whole area got pretty fried by the ACV, but the veruca turned dark and hard, ready to be sliced off bit by bit. This process was repeated, more of the veruca was dying and able to be cut off without cutting too deep. Everybody doubted that this would work, doctors doubted it, friends doubted it - ALL I CAN SAY IS "ACV" WORKED A SMALL "MIRACLE" ON MY FOOT! Thanks to Earth Clinic :) :) :)

Maybe it would be helpful if you told us which books you have been reading?
I do eat a lot of salad with all kinds of vegetables in them but my warts have never fallen off. As far as green smoothies go unfortunately I don't like them but I have been drinking quite a bit of vegetable juice mixed with fruit as well for the past 8 months. Don't forget that your body needs fat so eating the salads with no dressing might not be a good idea. Healthy fats are good for you and I can tell you that since my naturopath told me that my skin was too dry because I wasn't eating enough fat at least the skin on my face is a lot smoother (my legs are still too dry but maybe that will change soon)!

Over the past year, I've been eating poorly and gaining weight rapidly. Along with the uncomfortableness of excess weight, I noticed three warts on my feet: two on my left and one on my right foot. Thankfully they aren't painful. However, I've noticed that they are getting bigger and bigger. Not waiting until they got painful to do something about them, I started researching.
I had bought some OTC products which didn't really work. At the same time, I started changing my diet to include a ton of mixed greens and salads. A read a book about adding mixed greens to the diet. The author had some warts on her body and after she started drinking green smoothies daily, they fell right off.
Well, I can happily say that two of my three warts have fallen off! The third one is in an area on my foot where I can feel it, but can't bend properly to see it. It's flatter than it was and may fall off on it's own soon, too!
For the past two weeks, I've been eating a big salad for lunch every day with mixed greens, tomatoes, cucumbers, pecans or almonds, peppers, and beans of some type - with fat free dressing. I haven't lost weight because I'm still eating junkfood at night and heavy meals for dinner. But I will change that soon.
Another popular author I was reading talked about the importance of nutrition and health. He has similar diet recommendations - eating at least one pound of raw vegetables and one pound of raw fruits (who cooks fruits.. Maybe applesauce?). As I continue eating 1lb of veggies (i.e. my salad) and 1lb of fruit daily (for breakfast), I will comment about other ailments that should hopefully go away. I have really bad skin - sometimes called chicken skin - on my arms. I'm hoping diet will help that, too.

Coconut oil does not work for warts on feet and hands. Apple cider vinegar does. I use no other moisterizer for over a year on my feet and hands everyday, and I saw no difference on the warts on my hands.

My daughter had flat warts on her face for more than 4 years. She also had several seed warts on her hands, wrists, knees, and feet. I originally found this site while trying to find something to help her. After visits to her pediatrician and pediatric dermatologist we were frustrated. They just kept saying that the virus needed to run its course. She was starting junior high and these warts only exasperated her anxiety. The banana peel worked on her face in just 3 days! Imagine how ecstatic we were! Nothing seemed to work on her hands and feet though. Finally we found a cure that also worked in 3 days. A co-worker, who's father was a physician, said to soak her hands in very hot water with a couple capfuls of Lysol. After years of suffering, my daughter has been wart free for over a year.

I just thought I'd comment here. I eat at least 1 banana a day for the last couple of months, and the wart I've had for years is still there. So eating bananas probably doesn't help at least for me. I will try the banana peel and report back!

The banana peels cured my warts! I had a wart on my heel for about 9 years. Over the years I tried multiple different "cures" but nothing would get rid of it. I finally got fed up and when to a podiatrist and thought I'd leave it up to a professional. At first she prescribed Aldara, which is more expensive than liquid gold and about as effective as dog's drool. I took Zinc, Vitamin A, and Garlic along with the Aldara cream. After 3 months it was clear the Aldara and herbal medicine was doing nothing. Then the doctor recommended removing it surgically. Big mistake. I don't know if it was just a bad doctor or if the success rate of that type of surgery is just low. She cut off a hunk of flesh about the diameter of a quarter and about 1/4 inch deep. It was excruciatingly painful getting the anesthetic. Recovery took about 5 weeks until I was walking around normal. I was pretty depressed when the wart returned, even bigger than before. Then another wart appeared on my other foot. I was out a lot of money, had lots of pain, and now was worse than before. My wife found this website that recommended a banana peel. I was skeptical, thinking it sounded too easy to be true. I read a bunch of these feedback comments and decided I had nothing to lose. From Christmas 2009 to Easter 2010 I put a banana peel on both my warts every day. To my surprise, it actually worked. Both warts are completely gone now. I still can't believe it worked and as a skeptic, felt obligated to make a post about it. I'm an engineer and need hard proof before I believe something (just ask my wife). I'm sure there are others reading this thinking: "A banana peel? Right..." Please try it. You'll be glad you did.
Supplies you'll need:
- roll of duct tape (standard sized roll is fine)
- sharp knife
- sandwich baggies
- rubber band
- bananas
Here's what you do:
- Every morning after you dry off from the shower, cut off a small piece of peel the size of your wart. - Take the sandwich bag and put it over the end of the banana and seal it off with the rubber band. This keeps your banana and it's peel fresher longer. A green banana seems to work best. When it gets too ripe, it doesn't seem to work as well. - Tear off a piece of duct tape that's roughly 1" by 1", or big enough to entirely cover the wart with overlap. - Put the peel with side that touches the banana onto your wart. - Put the tape over the top of the peel, firmly pressing the tape into your skin so it seals the peel onto your foot and keeps peel juice from escaping. - Put your sock on and enjoy your day. - At night, leave the duct tape on. If it comes off with your sock, tape it back on. - In the morning, pull it off. The peel will be black. Wash the wart in the shower and dry it off before repeating the cycle. - Your wart should only see the light of day for the short time that you are in the shower and drying it off. - Once the skin starts to look a little callous our dead, use an emery board or nail file to file the dead skin off. It took my wart about a month before I did this, but I had a huge wart that was older then our oldest son, so yours may go quicker. You can also use Compound W to get rid of this skin. You only need to do this step about once every couple weeks. - Eventually, the wart will disappear. Along the way, you can tell progress is being made because it will no longer hurt when you firmly press on the wart.
Thanks to those who took the time to recommend the banana peel. I'm still not a big believer in home remedies, but this worked for me.

I had this nasty wart on the bottom of my foot for about 5 months. It was driving me absolutely crazy because it wouldn't go away, no matter what I tried. I tried saran wrap, duct tape, Compound-W, Slow acting acid (from the doctor), and even had a podiatrist surgically remove it (It came back 2 days later, even worse! ). So then I was searching for a remedy and I found two options ACV and Banana Peels. Since I am allergic to bananas, ACV was my only choice. I got a bottle of ACV from the local health food store, then some Cotton Balls (pure cotton, not the synthesized ones). I scrubbed the wart lightly with a pumice stone to remove the callous on top. I soaked the cotton ball in the ACV and then placed it on top of my foot. I put a band-aid on top of the cotton, to keep it in place. Then I used band-aid wraps to keep the band-aid in place and then cover my foot with a sock. I did this every day for about a week and a half, only removing the dressing when I showered. Then after the shower, I would repeat above steps. The wart will raise up, it will be swollen and tender. On the last day, remove all dressing and let your foot air out for about 4 hours. This allows all the liquid to evaporate from the foot. Then I went to bed, with only a band-aid (no sock, dressings, or ACV soaked cotton balls). The next day the wart was red and flattened. I had a follow-up appointment the next day, so I continued to cover the wart with a band-aid (again no more ACV). When I went to the podiatrist, he said that the wart was completely dead and he proceeded to remove the dead wart. ACV truly cured my wart. The only downside is that all the skin around your wart will become pruned and start to peel. I used a pumice stone to remove all the dead skin, as needed. Sometimes your foot will callous over (it didn't happen every day) so then it is important to use the stone, to allow the ACV to sink in. But I definitely recommend using the ACV, because it helped me when I was running out of options.

Two summers ago, I developed a plantars wart on one foot. Didn't know what it was at first...went to a podiatrist and he shaved it off. It came back within a month and I was afraid of going back as I had read online about removals where they leave scars and the warts come back anyway. I did the Apple Cider Vineger and duct tape just as you said. I have to say that when you put the cotton ball dipped in ACV on the newly cleaned skin, you will feel like you just shot your foot with a shotgun!! But it worked...took maybe 2-3 weeks. Wart was completely gone and has not come back. No doctor's bills, no scarring.

Hi I have about 10 warts on my hand and I tried a liquid medicine on my warts and they went away, but they came back with more later. Does ACV really work? And does it have any pain?

I have multiple flat worts on my stomach. I have been treating most of them with a banana peel, as they are wide spread (in the morning I just spread the inside of the banana peel all over my stomach, and let it dry, then get dressed). The biggest wart I decided to treat with ACV and tape with bandages. I noticed the same thing as you describe: it's been a week now and the wart has become very "raw" and it stings, and I don't see improvement. AS a matter of fact, it seems to be getting worse, but I didn't know if it was just the 'process' before it gets better. Moreover, there are now satellite warts around the big one, which seem to have popped up in the areas where the tape was.
The banana peel is much slower, but it seems to be actually drying the warts. Ah... I have much more work... Good luck everyone.

I went to the dr. for a lump on the top of my head. It started out as a pimple and ended up about the size of a quarter and was continuing to grow. The dr. told me to come back and she was going to cut it off. I didn't want this to happen so I had a week to work something out. I went to this site and found the Hydrogen Peroxide and Baking Soda paste method and thought I would try it. I put it on my head morning, noon and night. After about three days it started to burn so I would just put it on at night. I went back to the dr. a week later and she told me to keep doing what I was doing and about a week later the thing is totally gone. I also have some skin tags and they work great for them also.

Pau d'arco in the vitamin/supplement/herb isle of your health food or drug store is the way to go for plantar's warts. I have seen this work within a few weeks many times. Just take as directed (capsules). One person was scheduled for surgery to remove them and the next month they were gone.
