Hi there - we are beginning Bill Thompson's Fungal Kill Proticol from the Killing so Sweetly book. I ordered simple Borax - sodium tetraborate - from an internet vender. What I just received was Organic Borax Pentahydrate. Is that the same thing? and is that safe to take in regrd's to Bill Thompson's reference to "Borax" Please advise - thank you!

The borax powder I purchased is Milliard brand and the description is Sodium Tetraborate Pentahydrate Na2B4O75H20. Is this ok to use instead of the 20 Mule Team?

In the United States...and possibly elsewhere, Borates...Disodium Octaborate Tetrahydrate is commonly labeled Tim-Bor. It's as pure as it gets...and as it's labeled/used for many items such as controlling decay in wood to killing Termites...as well as a laundry additive and the many uses mentioned on this site...if you're worried about fragrance, you can purchase it from sites that don't store it/ship it next to the laundry soap. One that I'm familiar with is http://www.loghomestore.com/1267-timbor-borate-powder.php where you can get 1-1/2 lbs for $11.95 US. Their market is the Builders who use big wood...Timbers and Logs, however it's the same stuff.

Thank you for the information Bill, I appreciate it. I have been taking 3mg of boron a day, every day.... but it seems to not be working as well as it had been.
I use _______ Boron Chelate in capsule form, and the bottle doesn't list sodium tetraborate on the ingredients - it just says: Boron (as Boron amino acid chelate) 3mg. Other Ingredients: Cellulose, Gelatin (Capsule).
Anyway - I think I will up it to 6mg a day (and take the two days off every week suggested) and see if that does the trick.
Thanks again for your time. :-)

Hi Carly... The normal RDA health dosage for boron is between 3 mgs and 6 mgs. Personally, I think that this dosage is way to small if you are trying to cure problems like arthritis or candida or trying to detox Fluoride from your body.
Boron is the same as Sodium Tetraborate --which is borax. If you buy boron tablets from a health shop and look at the constituents on the back -- it will say that it contains so many mgs of sodium tetraborate or borax per tablet. I don't know why they call it boron since boron can never exist in its free state.
The dosage I use is Ted's recommended 1/4 teaspoon borax(for men) in a liter of water and I just drink that throughout the day. Women should use a dosage of 1/8 tspn of borax in a liter of water. Take this for 5 consecutive days then take 2 days rest from the protocol and continue like this on a weekly basis.
Ted also recommends using just 20 mule Team Borax for your borax needs but this is up to you. But I can't buy this in the Philippines -- so I have to use chemical grade borax instead.

Hi Bill, How many mg a day of boron would you recommend for human consumption? I have been taking 3mg a day, but am wondering what the upper limit would be.
I really love reading your posts!
Thank you. :)

The link shows technical grade borax which is good enough to use. I also use technical or chemical grade borax for supplementation and I've used it in the daily amounts as advised by Ted for many years. And if you buy 1 lb of borax -- this will last you for years because you only use fairly small amounts anyway on a daily basis.
I also note that borax is sold as boron in health shops -- usually at a pill dosage of 3 to 6 mgs a day. Boron or borax is the same stuff -- sodium tetraborate. That pill dosage may well successfully recover an arthritic mouse or help a rat suffering from rampanat candida, but this small dosage will have little beneficial effect on humans. Another example of the ridiculously low and useless RDA dosages promoted by Codex Alimentarius.

bill from san fernando, can you check this link below to see if this is the right borax for the earthclinc readers. the 20 mule brand borax has added fragrance to the borax. it might not be pure.
