Editor's Choice

I have had severe psoriatic arthritis for most of my adult life which affected my toes, feet, ankles, knees, hips, lower back, upper back, shoulders, neck, elbows, wrists, hands and fingers. So pretty much everything.

I used the borax remedy frequently posted here and around the web and within three months, I had complete remission and I went from severe joint pain to no joint pain and the effects of the borax would last for months if I stopped taking it and then I would start the borax at the first hint of joint pain and it would go away within two weeks and I would stop the borax again. So that was how I used it.

More recently I did more reading about borax and have decided that instead of stopping borax once the joint pain stops, I will continue using it at the smaller person dose (1/8th teaspoon in a liter of water) instead of the larger person dose (1/4 teaspoon). The reason for this is that borax has other health benefits and in order to get those benefits it will probably be better for me to take borax continuously at the 4 or 5 day a week schedule outlined in the borax remedy.

Borax is purported to work for other forms of arthritis like osteo, rheumatoid and juvenile.

A: Good to hear of your benefits with Borax.

I think it worth noting that the likely culprit in many of the RA and osteoarthritic conditions is chronic mycoplasma infection. In this event, it is best to continue the small dose Borax, limit Arginine rich foods, supplement Lysine, and use any number of natural antibiotic herbs and/or Zapping. The insidious nature of mycoplasma requires this smart & aggressive approach, or it (as you have confessed in your case) just keeps coming back.

Hi Art,

I was wondering how you are doing with the borax. How is the mycoplasma? Has it done away with it?

Nadine in Wisconsin,

Regarding borax, I still use it at the dose that Ted recommended for men way back when.........1/4 teaspoon dissolved in a liter of water and I take this dose 4 to 5 times per week. I did try to go down to the lower 1/8th teaspoon dose, but it was not effective for me over time so I had to go back to the higher dose.

I am still in remission and have not had any problem that I am aware of after years of borax use.

As far as a mycoplasma issue, I have no idea. I know many people feel that arthritis as well as many other health issues have a mycoplasma as the root cause and I suspect that is absolutely possible, but for me on my own, I don't have any idea how I would go about determining whether that is the case.

I think if I went to my doctor and said please check me for a mycoplasma infection to see if it may be causing my psoriatic arthritis, he would probably laugh me out of his office. So I have no practical way to know for sure if there is a mycoplasma involved or some other type of pathogen.

What I do know for sure and without any doubt at all is that borax works extremely well for me and has done so for years!

Thanks to Ted!!!

Editor's Choice I thought that since it has 6 years since I put that post up about borax and psoriatic arthritis (PA), it wouldn't hurt to give an update. I have remained in remission over the past 6 years and I had been in remission for many years prior to that post.

I was in a ton of pain all over as the original post explains and I have remained symptom free for well over 12 years at a cost of less than a penny a day using Borax. No apparent side effects that I have found through the many years of use. I'm still using Borax 4 to 5 days a week and remain pain free from PA.

I have had PA for about 17 years. Just starting Borax. 3rd day. How long before you see the changes?
I am currently using fish oil, turmeric for anti inflammatory relief. I would like to get off of these.

Russ,

I think it took me "about 3 months" to get to complete remission, but I started to notice benefit within the first month. It's been so long since then, but I think my hips were the first place I noticed some benefit and then other joints followed shortly after. I had so many joints with pain from my neck to my toes that it is impossible to remember the exact order of relief, but ultimately I got to complete remission. I could no longer squat down to the ground with out a lot of pain and I could only get back up by grabbing on to something and pulling myself up with my hands and arms.

I hope you find the same benefit as I did, but please come back and update us. I am the only person who I have ever seen that was able to put PA into remission with borax so your feedback would be very useful for others. I still take borax at Ted's dosing schedule for men.

Psoriasis. Thank you Earth clinic for helping me out my flaking. I had a few spots in my scalp for over two years. Doctors confirmed me as psoriatic arthritis. I have rheumatoid arthritis for over 20 years.

After reading some comments in here I shampooed my hair a solution of borax and water and drank a mixture of borax, ACV and baking soda. I am totally cleared of flaking but my arthritis is still active. I have been clear for over ten years now. Occasions of itch at the flaking spot I will resume with one or two shampooing sessions. I am back to this page after so long for some other issue and wanted to contribute and thank this site for curing my flaking psoriasis.

I've been taking Botax since April 5 gradually started at 1/16 of the spoon currently i'm on my second week of 1/4 of a teaspoon dosage for women

I have psoriatic arthritis. I've been on several Biologics that failed to work never giving me full relief. How long does it take for borax to work? Also, I'm wondering was anyone on biologic and they were successfully able to stop taking their prescribed medication?

my biologic injection is due at the end of the next month. Should I continue taking them or would this biologic injection interfere with what borax is doing?

Hi Irine,

The dose for women as posted by Ted is actually 1/8th teaspoon in a liter of water and one quarter teaspoon for men. Drink one liter of this borax water each weekday and take Saturday and Sunday off.

It took me about 3 months to reach my max benefit, but I noticed improvement at roughly one month in. It was a very long time ago for me, so the timing is not so clear now, but it has kept my PA in remission all of this time.

Hi Art, it's my mistake. I am taking 1/8 of the teaspoon along with few granules of Celtic salt and Bob's Mills baking soda. I'm Attributing flares with increased dose of borax hands hips aches all over I guess it's just my body getting used to a new dose. I'm really hopeful as I don't wanna be another victim to pharmaceutical industry.

Hi Irine,

Hopefully borax ends up working as well for your PA as it did for mine! Please keep us posted on your results.
