Hi, Ted

Tonight I was in the super market and found Boraxo powdered hand soap. It says on the back. Boraxo Powdered Hand Soap is a unique blend of borax and powdered soap. The borax holds the lossened soil in suspension until it is rinsed away. This is a 20 Mule Team product. There is a number to call on the label if anyone would like to know if they can find it in there area or maybe able to order it. 1-800-457-8739. I bought a 12 oz canister for $1.77. I beleive I will start using on my scalp as I have bumps there. I will let you know how it works.

So far so good. I noticed that if I stop using it the bumps come back. I feel it is something that must be used for several weeks. Also, I must use another shampoo on occassion as my hair seems to get a build up. Also use a good conditioner.

boraxo is much stronger than plain borax!!!

if you can get some plain borax - they have it in the laundry aisle - it is usually called 20 mule team... it will work much better and won't dry out your hair or scalp and you won't need conditioner.

you need borax and citric acid. citric acid is a chelator and will take the borax completely out of your hair as well as restore the proper pH to your hair and scalp and prevent mineral build up. you can also use vinegar - 1 tablespoon to a pint of water but it doesn't work as well... but until you can get citric acid vinegar is fine.

take some plain powdered borax and pour about an inch or 2 in the bottom of a bottle. add water and shake and let it sit until the water turns clear. it will only melt as much of the borax until it gets to a 'saturated' solution - so having some white stuff in the bottom is normal.

pour the clear liquid into a squirt bottle with a nozzle like a ketchup or mustard bottle or even better a hair dye bottle and use about 2 tablespoons. i usually just put one ounce (2 tablespoons into the bottle at a time).

when you are ready to wash your hair get a pint container and add 1/4 teaspoon of citric acid powder to a pint of water and shake or stir it good.

ok then wet your hair and squirt the borax solution onto your scalp only. after this kind of work it around your scalp and then sort of squeeze it down the rest of your hair. you don't have to worry much about the length because just the amount that is on your scalp will clean the length unless your hair is very long.

it may not seem like it is doing anything but it is!!!

then rinse, rinse, rinse and scrub your scalp with your fingertips (not nails) and when finished rinsing well, pour your citric acid solution over your scalp and let it run down your hair. make sure you saturate your hair and scalp with it.

then rinse, rinse, rinse.

this will work MUCH better!!! as well as leave your hair very shiny, smooth and full of body. no conditioner is needed with this method! i have almost waist length hair that was very dry and crunchy before i started using this method. now i can't believe how nice my hair is!!!

good luck :)
