I'm responding to the acv. I had the same success with my blood pressure. Someone said that their pressure went down within 45 mins. of taking the acv. I figured it was worth a shot, it's only acv. It went down in that time frame. I feel wonderful joint pain and knee pain even went away. It's been three years now. Thanks for sharing your hb pressure info. Thanks everyone. Thank you Earth Clinic.

I am a 67 years old female. I am on three bp medication a day. I take my blood pressure everyday and it averages between 127-145/77-82. I consider this high and try to monitor by taking Apple Cider Vinegar with honey.

It does help to lower it. When you are adding baking soda to it, I would say be careful. I have acid reflux and have to be careful about the intake of acidity. Never go off or change your medication because you feel better. There could be other underlining issues.

If you are on blood pressure medications, follow your doctor instructions and don't assume that ACV will do the trick. Be careful with self diagnosis.

I have heard of using apple cider vinegar (ACV) before but never tried it. Unfortunately I ran out of medicine and couldn't get a refill until I saw Dr. My Bp has been rising over last few weeks. On yesterday it was 160/100. I couldn't sleep I thought I might die. I prayed about natural remedies went online and saw this immediately went to get ACV.

This morning it was 157/96. At 5 144/90 I have taken apple cider vinegar twice today and now 137/78. This is lowest in 2 weeks. I am still going to Dr. But I thank GOD. I will continue my ACV.

Last Thursday I had my BP taken and it was 164/104 that was at 6AM I waited 10 minutes for a retake and it had went to 160/107. I donate plasma and have on and off for years and that's how I know this. There have been other times the last few months where it's 159/99 or 165/103 and so on. I do have neuropathy in my feet which can be very painful and I had taken 2 ibuprofen and 2 acetominophin at about 4AM as my feet were in a lot of pain. I like to donate plasma so I can have extra money for the week and I also know a couple people who rely on it and even if it's not mine my friends have nurses out to their homes and hook up to the pick line to do the medicine delivery. I couldn't donate that day and it was a bummer so I went to my car got on the Internet on my phone and found this site and that morning before work I went and got ACV at the store thank goodness Byerly's opens at 6AM. I went home told my wife and started ASAP.

I personally after reading several pages and posts decided to take 3 tablespoons 2 times a day. I mix it with Apple Juice and I small spoonful of this thick and gooey honey my wife has. It's only been 4 days and I went to donate again at 6AM, (I like to be first then I'm done by 7:15) and get this my BP went to 149/89. Fluke? Who knows but even the lady I like to have screen me even said how low it is today and my iron was excellent she said, best she's seen. Now it hasn't helped my feet at all but I do feel my appetite has changed for the better as well. So thank all you kind people who helped me and I'm an ACV drinker now!

My blood pressure was 199/100 when someone suggested I take ACV mixed in a large amount of water, thru a straw 3xs per day, which I did. Within a month, every one of my crowns fell off. Never had the problem before or since : ( Now I take over the counter meds (not happy about it) now as I am afraid of what else might happen. Very expensive lesson.

For those using ACV, please please remember that you must brush/rinse after EVERY time. Those who had teeth/crown issues, this was probably the main reason (unless there are other factors with their teeth. ) The benefits of ACV far outway this one "side effect".. but if care is taken, there should be NO side effect.

You should never brush your teeth right after taking Apple Cider Vinegar. Brush before you take it, and after you drink some rinse your mouth out well with plain filtered water.

Hello Chattyone, I realize my response may not actually reach you, since you posted back in 2012. However, it may be helpful to someone else.

CV, Lemon, Lime, etc., is very harsh on the enamel of the teeth. It is necessary regardless of whether drinking ACV through a straw, taken as a shot or otherwise to brush the teeth, tongue and gums thoroughly right after. I've been drinking ACV without a straw and eating lemons and limes with my teeth as a fruit for many moons and my teeth are unaffected because I brush my teeth thoroughly after. I even travel with a spare toothbrush and toothpaste or keep an extra set at work to avoid reasons not to consume what has always proven healthy for me. I'm sorry about your crowns. Best of Health!

I have only been taking ACV for a short time and my BP has already lowered. I dreaded having my BP taken in the Dr.s Office, because it was so high. Usually ran 150/98 or somewhere in that neighborhood.

I am on HBP meds and have been for years. Since taking two TBS in four OZ. of grape juice it is now 122/78. I found it taste really good in apple juice too. You can barely taste the ACV. I am using organic ACV. Thanks for this wonderful website.

Regarding ACV, I researched it and it is strange but in the bottle it is acid but when it goes into the body, it turns alkaline. I have an acid problem and HBP. After a week on ACV both problems have greatly improved.

I have been taking one to two tablespoons of organic ACV with one to two teaspoons of good local honey with a couple of ounces of warm water first thing in the morning for over two years. I take it for a number of reasons. I did not have true blood pressure issues prior to starting - usually running about 110/70 sometimes up to 120/70. However, after about six months on the ACV, it is consistently 100/60.

I actually started on the ACV for rheumatoid arthritis pain because I am not interested in prescription drugs. The ACV with honey and water controls the RA pain. You will have to keep taking the ACV to keep your blood pressure down. If you stop, it will begin to creep back up. However, the ACV has so many wonderful effects in the body, I can't see any reason to stop. I would say, however, that everyones should be sure to "swish and swallow" with clean water following the ACV because it can be really hard on the tooth enamel otherwise.

Hi, I've been taking the organic ACV now for about a month. However, my blood pressure goes up and down. I'm taking Diovan, Bystolic & tekturma. Went to my dr today and it was 167/109. Now he's having a sonogram of my kidneys and referring me to a hypertenison specialist. I've changed my diet and riding my bike for 30-45 mins on some days and walking a mile on other days. What am I doing wrong here??? I'm really getting frustrated. I drink ACV 2-3 times a day without the honey. What else can I do???

Be sure to ask your Dr. about hyperaldosteronism as a reason for uncontrollable hypertension.

ACV has saved my life. It lowered my blood pressure significantly and helped reduce the amount of times I get sick annually. My coworker introduced it to me and I have drank it religiously ever since. Now, I only drink water, ACV, coffee and craft beer in that order. No more soda, juice from concentrate, sports drinks or any other sugary crap. I feel great now because of it, too! ACV 3Xs a day to keep the doctors away!!!

I am a 36 year old male and I have been taking raw, organic, unfiltered apple cider vinegar for two years. I started taking it with distilled water and honey. But after a few of my ACV friends reported to me how they take it, I was converted.

Here is how I have been taking my daily dose of ACV.

  • I take a regular 2 ounce shotglass and I fill it to the brim with ACV.
  • I pour that into an empty 16 ounce drinking glass. Or use whatever size drinking glass you like.
  • Then, I take some apple juice and pour it in on top of the ACV and fill it to the brim.
  • Then I drink it over the course of about ten to thirty minutes.

I am 6'4" 300 pounds. I was 380 when I started drinking ACV and my blood pressure medication has been cut in half and still dropping.

For my wife and smaller friends I tell them a half of a shot glass. If I don't have apple juice, I use cranberry juice, grape juice or even coolaid. I do not use any acidic juices such as orange or lemonaid because it gives me heartburn when used with ACV. Hope this helps, I sure notice a big surge in power when I take this stuff this way, mentally and physically. Thanks for reading. Scott Harriger

First I would like to say that I strongly believe in ACV as a home remedy for many ailments/ conditions including high blood pressure.

I am even building a website about it and am currently working on a page dealing with high blood pressure.

What I would like to add to this string is that 1 or 2 tests will not confirm or deny that it is working. Your BP will change up or down many times during the day. It is not a constant.

Apple Cider Vinegar will help high blood pressure but you need to take it daily for at least 3 weeks. Results over several tests should be done before you can confidently say that it has helped.

Also, and this may be the cause of many "nay" votes, vinegar WILL NOT AFFECT high blood pressure caused by heart disease, diabetes, kidney disease, or other complex diseases.

Most importantly, if you are currently on prescribed medication, do not stop or reduce your medication because you decide to try vinegar. See your doctor first. (S)he may decide to reduce your medication while you are taking ACV but that is a medical call and not one to be made without the proper knowledge.

I have been drinking 2tbsp ACV/3x per day for 9 days now. Notice some change in my evening BP but my morning reads are scary. This morning it was 156/102 (upon wakening) in the evenings (after 6) I'm averaging 135/85. I know that BP upon wakening is usually the highest (most heart attacks happen in the mornings probably linked to this fact). I really don't want to go on meds. Note: I've been using honey, maple syrup or splenda brown sugar to sweeten the mix.

Any suggestions as to why I'm not seeing results? Does it take some time (i.e. 2 or more weeks) in some cases? Discouraged when I read some people seeing immediate results. Has anyone else experienced a longer response time? Appreciate any feedback. Thanks

Have you tried the usual natural methods eg reduce salt in the diet and exercise daily, 1hr walks a day, yoga, listen to relaxation tapes. Look at family history, if there is a link I would suggest a full cardiologist check up. The risk of Tia's is increased with High BP. Frequent TIA's increase the risk of Vascular Dementia. Good Luck Lynda

EC: Tia = Transient ischemic attack or a mini-stroke

WARNING! Stop using splenda! I believe Splenda is chlorinated sugar. Go read about it. If you don't want chlorine in your salt, you sure don't want it in your sugar.

Thank you for your comment, The Chlorine in our city water is over the top, it tastes & smells terrible even after the water runs a while before getting a glass. To make things worse, We have limestone all around here, so the lime in kettle or coffee maker is a lot, and, unless you wipe down the SS sink, after running the tap, you will later see the dry calcium deposits. This must affect arteries, heart, and kidneys, thus blood pressure. Just started on ACV unfiltered. Prayerfully and hopefully this will work for me. I've started getting my water from an Artesian Spring.
