Eat yogurt that contains probiotics including bifidus regularis 1 daily and drink water with lemon juice about 1 tsp added to 8 oz of water daily, I was better quickly. Try. I kept bacterial vaginosis for 2 years and this worked for me.

Colloidal Silver
Posted by Danielle (Atlanta ) on 01/05/2017

I am purchasing the Collodial Silver in the morning. I have been suffering from Bv since 12/1/14. I've seen 3 different OB/GYN and they always prescribe Flagyl, Clyndamicin and Metrogel all of these antibiotics used to work;but now I have been battling for a cure. I've spent over 1000.00 buying medicines that do not work. I think it is so sad that doctors and scientists will allow us to suffer. I pray that every woman battling this infection NEVER give up on their health. God knows we've suffered through childbirth and we should be able to live in peace without crying all night away from our family.

I have been suffering from BV I believe for as long as I remember. Even as a young child, and I'm only 18. It's not so much about sexual reasons, but having BV makes life really uncomfortable. The constant itching, the terrible smell, just feeling dirty. Plus I have stomach/intestinal issues as well and I've tried a lot of things but I always feel like I am in pain. If you could please help me out and explain what diet/detox you went on, the types of fruits and veggies that you ate, whatever helps :-) plus any other tips. This could be life changing for me and I'd really appreciate it.

I've had bv for a couple of months and it finally went away when I got a cold and took my natural remedy. In less than a week I was bv free! It's also an easy process which I love, I will try this next time I have it. I put three drops of 100% oregano oil in a tablespoon of extra virgin olive oil and had it twice a day for about 5-6 days . That's it!

I use a toothpick to poke a whole through the garlic clove. Take a strand of floss and rinse it to rid of the wax and mint flavor and then I stick the floss through the whole I made and tie it to use the garlic like a tampon just to assure it doesn't get stuck in there.

Amber— it sounds like you don't have BV but something very similar that is often misdiagnosed as a yeast infection or BV. It's called Cytolytic vaginosis (CV). The fact that your vaginal pH levels are over 4.5 and is even increased into the 5.0's is a huge indicator that you may have CV instead. Additionally it also is an indicator that you have CV if you have had these yeast-type infections (like you have been) that do not respond to normal medications OR are reocurring continuously. Additionally CV very commonly occurs right before, during and after your menstrual cycle & usually will reoccur every month around the same time but not always there's a great article on it at this URL: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3168042/

Oregano Oil

I have been to this website several times to find a cure for BV and I want to share how I finally fixed mine. I had been suffering from Bacterial Vaginosis or BV for almost last three years. Obviously, the first thing I did was seek medical advice. I was prescribed oral antibiotics, antibiotic suppositories and boric acid suppositories multiple times. Every time the BV came back within days of stopping the treatment. After that I tried every home remedy I read about including, hydrogen peroxide douches, tea tree oil suppositories, oral and vaginal probiotics, garlic suppositories, yogurt, etc. Nothing worked and BV always came back within a day or two of stopping the treatment. I finally read about oil of oregano a month ago and gave it a try.

I took a teaspoon of olive oil in a medicine dosage cup and mixed 4 drops of oil of oregano in it and drank it every day for two weeks. I also took half a teaspoon of olive oil in a small syringe, no needle attached, and mixed 4 drops of oil of oregano and put it inside my vagina at night and tried to keep it in there for as long as I could. It burned a lot on the first day for almost 5 to 10 minutes but then it wasn't that bad from the second day. I used it for 6 days in a row and used some yogurt on the 7th day at the bedtime. I slept with a thin pad on so the oil wouldn't go to other areas and burn me there. I repeated the same on the second week. At the beginning of the third week I got my periods. I didn't drink or put the oil inside me during my periods. Also, this time I used pads instead of tampons. It's been 3 days since my periods ended and I didn't see any BV symptoms, otherwise I used to start smelling the fishy odor towards the 4th or the 5th day of my periods.

Another thing I did is I completely abstained from having sex during the treatment. Yesterday I had sex with my hubby the first time in over three weeks and I still feel okay. I think his semen is way too alkaline to mess up my pH level. I think I will go back to drinking the oil but not put anything inside me anymore unless I see the symptoms again. Please feel free to ask any questions you have. I understand what a nuisance this disease is and how it affects us physically and emotionally.

Good luck!

Hi Sj. I'm glad you are getting some relief from your BV. I went round and round with this for what seemed forever. It is not only the physical but mental as you think it will never go away. I found that sex aggravated the symptoms. I'm married, one partner. My concern for you is all the douching. I fear that changes the ph and set things off. What finally worked for me is grapefruit seed extract. 10 drops in water once a day, everyday, though I do miss now and then. I have honestly been cured of this miserable thing. Seriously. I was miserable. It has been a long, long time since I've had any symptoms. I have started taking vitamin e as it is good for skin. I've found it to work wonders along with the GSE and it does help with my sex drive and ease for a woman in her sixties. I'm not knocking what works for you, I'm glad you are feeling better. This is just what worked for me. Take care.

Buttermilk has worked great for me too, much better than plain yogurt. I use a plastic syringe to get it into the vagina and rub it on the vulva. I have instant relief from itching and burning...try it.

I also took antibiotics, but the BV came back within a few weeks. I got new prescription for antibiotics, but I'm not willing to keep using it and it seems it is causing more harm than good for many. Even if the BV comes back every now and then, buttermilk is an easy solution and safer than other treatment options.

I have been battling BV for about a year and half. Spent hundreds of dollars in doctor visits and prescribed medications that only made matters worse. After reaching my ultimate low in losing confidence and making up excuses why I didn't want to have relations with my boyfriend and being thoroughly embarrassed to even stand next to someone in fear they would smell me, I finally turned to nature. Desperate to find a cure and very depressed over it. They say it's not an STD but boy does it make you feel like you have one. It equally destroys your femininity as much as if you would have infact had an STD. WELL LADIES...I found my cure. I know they say don't douche. But in my case, matters couldn't be any worse. I was bloated, achy, had drainage constantly, the smell...LORD the smell. It was bad. Well I tried the salt water treatment douching. Yes worked, temporary. Then tried Honey water douche, temporary (as in a day). Tea Tree oil...least favorite, bothersome, oozed out and temporary but VERY effective masking the smell.

AND FINALLY....Apple Cider Vinegar. BINGO!! We had a winner. 3 days later cured!

DAY ONE, I mixed equal portions of ACV and water, douched. Then flushed out with plain water, took acidophilus 2 a day and cleansed the outer labial portions with teatree oil and water (just to catch any potential smells).

DAY TWO, about a 3rd of ACV and water, flushed again with plain water, still taking acidophilus twice per day and tea tree oil for the outside. At this point, the symptoms were gone as far as bloat and ache, no smell. Still discharge, but no smell. DAY THREE, a teaspoon of ACV and water, flushed again with plain water, Acidophilus and tea tree oil rinse.

Done! No discharge, no symptoms, no smells...Just back to good ole me. I cried. Yes ladies, finally. I am a woman and whole again...bv free for a month now. Did it work...I'm going with yes. Are we all different, yes. I have not had to douche since and honestly I really won't unless absolutely necessary. I just watch my ph and make sure it stays balanced. I have maintained a healthy diet and I drink of plenty of water. I hope this helps you as much as it helped me. Oh and by the way...I found it funny that $.50 is all it would cost to cure me. Dear Lord help us all! Best of luck.

Folic acid can help those with BV, but it doesn't help for everyone. Everyone's body is different. I have recently started using COLLOIDAL SILVER. I tried so many other "cures" which were unsuccessful. Since I have started using the silver I have felt better than I have felt in several years. My main side effect of BV was excessive discharge. After taking the silver within days my discharge had became almost nonexistant. It is pricey so I would recommend other treatments first but if they fail definetely give this a try. I have purchased the micro particle generator to make my own because you end up saving a lot of money by not paying retail value. Don't buy the really cheap ones they wont work well.

thank you for sharing your experience. Yesterday I made the mistake of mixing Apple Cider Vinegar with tap water 60(acv)/40(tapwater), once inserted vaginally. I instantly felt a sharp pain. It continued and worsened terribly, over a three hour period. Finally my stomach pain started to subside, but then strangely when I went to urinate, a lightly bloody discharge was present. Confused I turned to google, and found your experience. Relieved to know the burning from the Apple Cider Vinegar is natural. I'm scheduling a doctor appointment for the new discharge that followed with the side effects and will update if any new discoveries are found as a result of using acv.

I kept having reoccurring episodes of bv. I wasn't having sex at the time, I only used mild, fragrance soap to wash my vaginal area and I used the same clothes detergent for years so why the reoccurance I have no idea. I did some research and figured that if it's an over growth of the bad bacteria why not add some of the good bacteria to balance it.

I bought a box of 2 vinegar and water douche bottles (I got the ones with the applicator that you can screw off and replace the top of the bottle with a cap), probiotics Acidophilus (capsules) and hydrogen peroxide. I emptied out one of the pre-filled douche bottles and rinsed it with warm water (I know I said vinegar and water like it mattered but I'd rather rinse out something natural then something that had artificial fragrance in it. And traces of vinegar wouldn't hurt much.)

I added maybe an inch to an inch and a half of hydrogen peroxide to the empty bottle; opened up a capsule of the probiotic Acidophilus and emptied the contents of that in the bottle and added warm water. Let the mixture dissolve before using. I would use it in the shower after I wash up, re-filling the bottle with just plain warm water and douching another 4-5 times.

I did this daily for about 5-7 nights a week and even noticed the signature bad smell was gone the very next morning. By the end of the second day the discharge had lessened and the odor remained gone. I would skip a few days and do it again for another 3-4 days. I re used my douche bottle for about a month before I discarded it. I'd replace the cap on top of the bottle and would clean the applicator with plain warm water and my clean hands, wrap it in a clean paper towel and place it in a clean zip lock gallon bag and sealed it. (I'm a nurse and this is the closest I could come up with as far as a clean technique goes)

I'm still on the quest to find out just why women keep suffering from this. Maybe it's our diet or side effects from my birth control days, I don't know. But I hope this remedy gives helps someone out.

Omg This sounds just like what I'm going through. I've had BV off and on now for like two years. It has been ruining my life. I've been searching for different cures because the gel my doctor always prescribes doesn't work for long. I just came across this website and tried the ACV bath yesterday, it helped. I didn't have a smell anymore, or any gross discharge. But unfortunately it came back, I don't know what else to try. I guess I have to do some research about those pills.

Ok so I NEVER write on these things but this is something important I truly feel every woman battling with BV should read. This is gunna be long but just bear with me. I was diagnosed with BV for the first time in December 2010 when I was 18. The Dr. prescribed me the mertronidozal gel for 5 nights, did it all 5 nights and it was completely cleared..all up until this passed December 2015. I was with my now boyfriend who I was already with for 5 months at the time, we were having sex just like we usually do and afterwards I smelt that same horrible smell I smelt back in 2010 and knew I had to call my gyno. So I went got swabbed and of course it was BV..once again took metro gel for 5 nights and everything was fine..but what do ya know a few months later in March it happened again after sex, got the metro gel and it was fine..after that dose I ended up getting my period and the day my period was finished I had that same smell..at this point I'm freaking out and went to the dr got the metro and asked if she suggested I take anything to help prevent this..she told me acidophilus. So I went home with the metro gel and bought acidophilus 1 billion and started taking three a day along with doing the course of metro gel. the metro gel worked but right after my next period was over and after sex I would get the smell..it was literally ruining my sex life especially because I was trying to hide it from my bf. I was doing so much research on how to get rid of it and I found a multi-strain probiotic for women so I started taking those once a day along with acidophilus..i thought it was working but everytime after sex and after my period the horrible smell would come right back..so now it's September 2016, still have the same issue but I finally came upon this website..i saw so much about folic acid and acidophilus mixed together..

so I went out and bought folic acid 400 mg, vitamin C with rose hips 1000 mg, and some organic ACV..

Thursday I took my normal 3 acidophilus a day, one multi-strain probiotic, three folic acid, one vitamin C pill..I then added 1 tbsp of ACV to my water bottle drank the entire thing and soaked a tampon in half ACV half water and put it in for an hour..

I repeated this for three days..

it is now Saturday there is no smell and to make things even more exciting I had sex with my boyfriend this afternoon and there was no smell just normal..idk if it's the folic acid or all these things combined but it really worked..I'm gunna keep doing the pills everyday along with ACV in my water bottle and try to lay off on the ACV soaked tampon until my period comes back, I will then do the soaked tampon a few days after it ends to make sure things are all in tact down there..keep trying to find what works best for you ladies this bv crap is no joke!

Here are the things I tried for BV and for yeast infection, and what I think worked best for me for each:

boric acid, probiotics, coconut oil, apple cider vinegar.

I feel like the hydrogen peroxide (washing with and douching with) and probiotics (taken both orally and vaginally) work the best for BV, and now I have my natural (and I think actually quite nice) personal smell/taste back down there. I have to say it did take some time, it wasnt instant. I tried boric acid first and thought it would help more than it did, because I do think it along with ACV rinses works great for yeast, but I think boric acid and ACV wasn't so great for BV.

What I did was douche with 50/50 (approx) clean, filtered water and regular H2O2 (hydrogen peroxide) frequently at first (about 2-3xs per week) and opened an acidophilous capsule and scooped a tiny bit of that out with a clean cotton swab dipped in coconut oil and inserted it and swirled it around as far as I could go inside my vagina. I did this for about 2-3 weeks while also trying to alkalize my diet more, taking a multivitamin AND ingesting a lot of probiotics in different forms, for the sake of getting a variety of different beneficial bacteria populating into my gut and system. The probiotics I used were Good Belly beverage, Yakult beverage, expensive femme combo probiotic blend (Refrigerated type) and the cheap grocery store dry shelf acidophious capsules. I also took a few cranberry concentrate capsules orally for good measure because it contains properties which are purported to loosen and cleanse away the harmful bacteria that can adhere to the urinary tract. I made sure to take these many times a day at first and slowly ramped down as the symptoms receded.

I slowly backed down the frequency of H2O2 douching, however I still cleanse externally with a 50/50 H2O2/filtered water blend frequently, because I like the idea that is kills bad bacteria but also is a by product of (and therefore not removing) the good bacteria.

One of the keys to my regimes' success that I should also share is that I was sure to keep my hands and everything else I used very, very clean before ever putting it near my vagina. and I washed all my panties and pants with borax to help kill the bacteria that could be living in my clothes. In total it took about 3-6 weeks to completely eliminate all traces of BV in my system, however I have noticed after periods I catch a hint of it in my smell so I did one undiluted H2O2 douche after my period, each period and it seems to keep it from returning. I think one of the important things to keep in mind with douching is to know when to do it, and when not to. I think it is really important to let the vagina balance out and that can be a delicate balance between taking actions (like douching, inserting coconut oil and/or acidophilous) and just gently cleaning the outside but letting it rest and re-balance itself (herself? :)

I am a chronic bv sufferer. I have been dealing with bv off and on for at least years. The doctors will give you an antibiotic that will wipe all of your bacteria out and then tell you that there is no way to put the good bacteria back therefore resulting in another bv attack. I have decided to natural cure my bv because the doctors just want you to come back for the office visit money!! I use a combination of peroxide and I use tea tree oil. Once the smell goes away I start taking my probiotic but you need one that has more than one strand of lactobacillius. I find that the probiotics with lots of strands work more effectively and the ones that have at least 20 billion cfu. Good luck ladies!!

So I have been suffering from BV for 4 months, and I have tried EVERYTHING you can think of. Every home remedy, vH essenitals suppositories (helped a little), ph-D boric acid suppositories (didn't really do anything), Flagyl (worked until I came on my cycle). I just so happen to do a sitz bath with grapefruit essential oil, lavender oil, and 1 cup of dead sea salt, and 7 cups of very warm water ( be careful not to burn yourself), and I soaked for 20 minutes...I also douched with this combination as well. In the douche bottle I do a pinch of sea salt, 5 drops each of grapefruit and lavender with water filled to the top at morning and at night. I made the mistake of doing it the first time with 20 drops of grapefruit oil, and lets that was a big mistake lol. I'm still doing it and it is working so far for roughly 5 days now...So hopefully this helps.

Hi!

I was recently diagnosed with BV & cervical polyps and legions on my cervix these are slow growing and can lead to cancer if you're not careful. As a side effect I began getting BV from the ph balance distress the lesions were causing. Then I got Trichomonas vaginalis from a sexual partner. My doctor said I had HSIL and a cone biopsy is my only option. I was able to heal my cervix and BV using home made vaginal suppositories made from pure Aloe Vera jelly. I want to have more children so I chose to try diet change, quitting smoking, juicing, herbal tonics & cleansing while I thought about surgery. I've had reoccurring bv for so many years, I really wanted to get rid of it. Well to ease my cervical lesions which were always spotting, I decided to try Aloe plant. I purchased the aloe plant stalks in the produce section of the market. To my surprise the bv was also cured after 3 days & my cervix feel less inflamed and no longer spotting. It feels so amazing! The odor stopped the second day of treatment.

Here's the remedy:

1. Brand new flexible ice tray (iKea has small rectangular ones that work great) - sterilize tray by boiling first

2. Use a small pearing knife to scrape the clear jelly from inside the aloe Vera stalk

3. Blend the jelly (only clear jelly) in a blender until the slippery mixture is fine and has no lumps . (Make sure you do not leave behind any of the green outside parts, as these can cause irritation to the outside areas of the vagina.

4. Pour mixture of pure blended aloe jelly into the ice tray and cover with parchment paper then seal in plasting zip loc. Freeze mixture.

5. Break frozen rectangles into half size manageable pieces. Insert small about (.5ml) frozen pieces into vagina at bed time and wear a thin pad.

6. use suppositories for 5-8 nights, preferably right after your menstrual cycle ends towards your next ovulation.

7. There can be slight irritation to the vulva & outside areas as the jelly first flushes out. This only last for a few minute when the suppository is first melting . That's why its good to be sleeping and lying down to skip this part ;)! Wipe clean and change pad for comfort.

8. Fishy odor caused by BV bacteria and Unbalanced PH will fade starting the second day. Enjoy! I'll be continuing to shrink down and soothe my cervix too!

Good luck!

I have suffered from bv for over 10 years and tried everything from pills, vinegar/peroxide douche and countless other things. I fixed my bv issue by accident. I had a thyroid issue and started juicing veggies and fruit for breakfast and lunch and dinner I ate my normal meal. After a week or so I noticed I no longer had that smell from the bv. I gave it another two weeks because I was so used to it always coming right back but two months of this plant based diet change and still no bv.

I believe the increase of alkaline veggies and fruit intake is the cause of this change. My ph is now balanced after so many years of being out of whack. All the years of have to do so much prep just to comfortably have sex with my husband are now gone. Bv is something that can make you feel less than a woman due to that horrid smell. I am and always have been a very clean person and still have no idea how the bv started but I'm now a raw foods lover for life.

Did I mention I also lost weight without trying. I was embarrassed to even write this hoping no one I know will be able to find out its me writing this. But after years of researching to try to find a cure I feel it would be an injustice if I didn't share my success story. The medicine is not a cure we have to fix the balance from the inside and it's all about incorporating the proper food that balances our insides.

Also I no longer have the pain staking irritable bowel syndrome, ulcer, and bloating that I was suffering from for years.

Abstract

BACKGROUND & OBJECTIVES:

Bacterial vaginosis (BV) is the most prevalent vaginal infection in women of reproductive age group which has been found to be associated with vitamin D deficiency. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effectiveness of the administration of 2000 IU/day edible vitamin D for 15 wk to eliminate asymptomatic BV among reproductive age women with vitamin D deficiency.

METHODS:

A total of 208 women with asymptomatic BV, who were found to be eligible after interviews and laboratory tests, were randomly assigned to a control group (n=106) or an intervention group (n=105). They used vitamin D drops daily for 105 days. Vaginal and blood samples were taken before and after the second intervention using identical methods (Nugent score for BV diagnosis, serum 25-hydroxyvitamin D forvitamin D determination).

RESULTS:

The cure rate of asymptomatic BV was 63.5 per cent in the intervention and 19.2 per cent in the control group (P <0.001). The results showed that being unmarried (P=0.02), being passive smoker (P<0.001), and being in the luteal phase of a menstrual cycle during sampling (P=0.01) were significantly associated with post-intervention BV positive results. After these elements were controlled, the odds of BV positive results in the control group was 10.8 times more than in the intervention group (P<0.001).

INTERPRETATION & CONCLUSIONS:

Among women in reproductive age group with vitamin D deficiency, the administration of 2000 IU/day edible vitamin D was effective in eliminating asymptomatic BV. This treatment could be useful in preventing the symptoms and side effects of BV.

Tea Tree Oil
Posted by Phoenix (California) on 05/07/2016

You should never apply undiluted tea tree oil on any skin, especially sensitive skin. Tea tree oil shouldn't be more than 10%, but when dealing with the sensitive skin in the vagina I wouldn't put more than 1 or 2% in a carrier oil. Olive oil is a great carrier oil for this use because of it's antibacterial properties. I personally would just apply the oil directly. If your using the tampon method for applying Apple Cider Vinegar or oil mixture then only 1-2 hours at a time is necessary.

I am trying to find others in these posts who have had recurring BV without any clear reasons. I have been trying to get rid of mine with antibiotics and will try the hydrogen peroxide routine ASAP. But here's my discovery. I use a water-based lubricant, and I found a long list of ingredients that can cause BV in lubricants. That explains why I keep getting BV over and over again. One ingredient to stay away from is glycerin, for example. Another is sucralose. That makes sense, because those are sugars that can change the pH balance. I made a list of all the ingredients and will do some more research, but has anyone else found personal lubricants to be a cause of recurring BV?

My midwife told me to do the syringe thing with peroxide. Works wonders and gets rid of it for months.
