As an herbalist I have recommended Hawthorn Blend with positive results to 8 different people. All 8 had a drop in their blood pressure after using a tincture (30 drops AM, and PM) for about 2 weeks. I would recommend anybody with blood pressure issues to research this herb. It also corrects low blood pressure.

Diatomaceous Earth in Lemon Juice

I read that diatomaceous earth would lower high blood pressure. About a month ago I started taking 2 tablespoons of DE in about an ounce of lemon juice (bottled lemon juice most of the time) and some water. My blood pressure had been 160/100 for years; 2 weeks ago my wife(RN) took my BP and it was 122/80 and tonight it was 112/68. Has anyone else tried this?

Apple Cider Vinegar, Dietary Changes
Posted by Florzzy (Singapore, Western Region, Singapore) on 01/20/2010

Hi, I am 47 from Singapore. Last night before I go to bed, I took 2 teaspoonful of Manuka Honey dilute it in a cup of plain water, add 2 teaspoon ( some dripped into the cup so it was slightly more than 2 tsp) of Apple Cider Vinegar and drank it.

I have an Omron wrist BP reader, my BP was 137/96 (average of 2 readings) this (Wed) morning.

Before this, on Monday night my BP was 162/106 (average of 2 readings). On Tuesday morning, I took my BP again and my BP was 155/107 after a night's rest.

I told myself I don't want to end up an invalid. So, the next day (Tuesday morning) I stopped drinking coffee and stopped eating my favorite softboiled eggs and kaya toast. Instead, I drank orange juice, Bread Margarine and 1 small banana. Then later I realized that Margarine is a Hydrogenerated Fat, which is bad for the body. So, I decided to throw away the small tub of margarine I just bought.

For lunch (Tuesday afternoon) I ate 1 China fuji apple, 1 small banana, 5 inches plain french baguette and a cup of warm milo. One hour after my lunch I checked my BP. It was 154/104.

For dinner @5.30pm (Tuesday evening) I ate at a Japanese restaurant - salmon sashimi, grilled saba fish, eel, 2 pcs fried sushi lobster salad toppings, 1 tempura shrimp and vegetables, chawmushi or Japanese egg custard and some rice (left 3 quarter of the bowl of rice behind). I drank green tea and decided not to drink their miso soup because of the salt content in it. Well it looks as if I ate alot, but in fact,it was just a variety of small pieces of each item because it was a Bento spread.

Had Supper at 8.30pm - slice fish soup (my purpose was to eat the fishmeat) and 1 China fuji apple.

I took my BP at 10pm it was 144/94. Then I drank the honey apple cider vingear and went to bed at 12.30am.

My BP this morning at 9am was 137/96.

Before I found this Earth Clinic website yesterday (Tuesday afternoon)I was determined to watch what I eat to bring my BP to normal. After reading the information on apple cider vinegar I went out to buy the Honey and Apple Cider Vinegar after dinner last evening.

I am waiting to see, if I can bring down my BP to healthy level with a healthy diet drinking the Honey and apple cider vinegar.

I only started the above on Tuesday and that was my day 1.

Celery, Apples, Grapes

high blood pressure neglect resulted in a stroke for me 2yrs ago. for 2 yrs i survived on meds, but side effects were undesirable, and depending on what i ate there was a tendency for hbp spikes and the resulting weakness and nausea.i was basically sick and weak daily. a co-worker shared a snack of celery and apples with me.i noticed it gave me energy, offset the effects of my meds and stabilized my hbp. i used to check my bp daily, sometimes 2-3 times due to nausea and weakness. now i check it 1x mo just to smile. Raw celery, apples, and red grapes daily- 2times a day at first. after 3 weeks my hbp is no longer an issue. I am strong, nausea free. i stopped anti-coag drug and replaced w 81mg adult aspirin, plus cinnamon caplets, and policosinol( all anti-coag)

I also take garlic, and am researching ginger and tumeric as daily supplmts if doctor consents. i now thinks meds are unnecessary but no doctor consent on this. I usually use, 2-3 celery stalks, one juicy red apple, and as many grapes i desire. Now i do this just once a day. Never tried ACV. My cure has to get to the root of my problem and has to be something i can do for life with no side effects. Celery, apples and grapes daily is the bomb!!!

How do you balance the acid/alkaline in your body when you're taking apple cider vinegar? I read in a very respected nutritional healing book that too much acv can cause acidosis. I really want to get off the meds for my hb.

Hi Tony. I glad this may help you. I should have also mentioned the instructions for the asparagus extract is one cup of hot water added to packet, let sit for 5 minutes, stir and drink... Once a day is recommended for maintaining normal blood pressure range....However if you kidneys are clogged and toxic you can drink up to 3 packs a day and only use half a cup of hot water. If you order the free catalog from herbalhealer.com it has tons of information about ALL kinds of diseases and the instructions on the asparagus is in the book in serveral different places. I find it works btter for me at half cup of water taken twice daily.

If your pressure does not come down, after a few weeks , then you might consider oral chelation...But you would be suprised at the people who simply just have toxic kidneys and they need to be flushed.

For high blood pressure use olive leaf extract or powder. Please be careful if using medication or allergic. It might lower it too much. Try a little at a time, and see the effects. Use powder in tea. It's somewhat bitter. Add a little honey to sweeten taste.Mix with cayenne pepper extract if desired.. Start with smaller amounts.Very sharp taste.S tart with one or 2 drops to begin with. Check blood pressue about half an hour later to see results. Use common sense and use with caution. You might be pleasantly surprised.

Hi, I read aubout Apple Cider Vinegar lowering Blood Pressure here but if that doesnt work for you try adding 1/2 lemon (use hand juicer) w/ 2 teaspoons of Cream of Tarter and half a cup of water; mix and drink it down... it taste great and it lowers BP. 3 days 2xs a day. Wait a couple of days and do it again if you still need to. susunweed is where I got this and it works.

Also taking ACV and lemons together is the same in their actions so its unnessary take both together.

Im looking for the rasin and gin cure for arthritis????? Does anyone know what it is?

Thanks, the GypsyGirl

Thanks Phil, this was actually very helpful I appreciate it. Oddly enough, my BP was perfect today, but that was after a long run this morning. I've noticed that after a 30 minute jog my BP goes down significately.

Good luck to you.
Thanks again.

Hello Tony. I actually don't use an oral chelation. My High blood pressure issues are due to sodium and sugars. Which is why anything that will flush my kidneys seems to work... I drink Asparagus Extract every day to help maintain normal kidney function.

You can google Asparagus extract and usally Dr. Chi comes up, that is what I use. As far as oral chelation, there are many on the market. One that comes to mind is Nutralife laboratories. You may also want to check out herbalhealer.com, she has some great testimonials and she will send you a free catalog that details alot of information. And the only other one I can think of is oralchelation.com. I used, breifly the one from Nutralife laboratories and did see lower readings, but I also was drinking Asparagus Extract at the same time, so I really can't tell you for sure if it worked.

There are many people that have said oral chelation worked for them, I guess you just have to find the one that works best for you...

Vinager and garlic never helped me, only the Asparagus drink helped.

Sorry, I could not help more. But everything I learn and study comes from me making good use of google and reading several websites.

Apple and Apple Cider Vinegar
Posted by Benjamin (Newberg, Or) on 11/15/2009

No, the speed at which you consume the Apple Cider Vinegar is irrelevant. You may also wish to add a spoonful of honey or turbinado sugar (the stuff that still has the molasses in it) to sweeten it. Remember too that if your palette is accustomed to sweet things, eating or drinking foods that are devoid of that taste can be even worse.

Phil, can you tell me which oral chelation product you used to lower your blood pressure? Like many other people, I've tried everything also to lower my BP with no luck. I would really appreciate your feedback.

Thanks, Tony

Dark Chocolate

Hershey's is not going to cut it- not even close. There's so much junk in that stuff. Look up info on raw chocolate- you can google it and learn a lot of wonderful info on it and it can do wonders. It is considered one of the superfoods of the planet. Hence, why the Aztecs revered it for its power. It is available in Whole Foods if you have one near you or you can mail order it online from lots of the raw food sites. I have been using it now for about 2 weeks after being interested in this world ever since starting the mini beet protocol over a month ago.

That is a first, I thought it would run it up, so if hershey kisses does the trick, what about hershey's chocolate bars, those i really love. how much should be ingested each day, if it's the bars instead of the kisses.will check back later.

EC: Typically the higher the percentage of cocoa in a chocolate bar, the better. You can find cocoa bars with 99% cocoa now - very strong and bitter!

Hello Hoax. Your high blood pressure could be related to build up of plaque in your arteries and not due to kidney toxicity... If this is the case you may want to check into ORAL CHELATION. This might clear your arteries and may result in lowering your blood pressure.

Driving a big rig around the country, my BP has to be 140/90,or they pull my license. I've taken it all:garlic, ACV, cayenne, bicarb, salt free diet, HBP pills, potassium, colloidal silver, magnesium, bananas and colloidal minerals. I'm sicker from your cures than HBP. I'm still running 200/100. The medicine has unwanted side effects, but overdosing for the test,I get it down without a doctor's or homeopath's approval and feel great the rest of the year.

HI There, When you take the acv with 8 oz of water, does it matter whether or not it's gulped down to get it over with or is it necessary to take your time?

Sometimes merely walking into a doctor's office can raise blood pressure. If you can get a blood pressure reading elsewhere besides the doctor's office, it might be interesting to see what reading you get.

Response to Hans:

12/09/2008: Hans from Delft, Zuid Holland / The Netherlands writes: "Hi Ted, Thanks for all your alkalizing advice. I have been using the lemon + baking soda formula for over 6 months now. I have a lot of energy. My skin looks great. The pH of my urine is 7,5 or higher consistantly. I take one lemon plus about 1 teaspoon of baking soda. I add one liter of water. this is what i do twice a day. Now here comes my question. Some people noticed my change in energy and also the way i look. They started doing the same, but they experience a rise in bloodpressure. My own bloodpressure doesn't rise above 125 / 83 even when i add extra baking soda. Could you explain why my bloodpressure stays the same while my friend's bloodpressure rises? Several others didn't report anything but positive from this remedy. My aunt and brothers told me their Acid reflux was gone in a few days. They also experience significant weight loss. Thanks alot!

Best regards,
Hans"

High blood pressure is often caused by chronic dehydration. The body needs a certain amount of sodium, but the body also needs to be constantly flushed by drinking enough water, which will help flush excess sodium from the system. When you feel thirst, you are already very dehydrated as this is one of the last symptoms of dehydration to manifest.

As a rule of thumb, take your body weight in pounds and divide by 2. This simple calculation gives you the number of ounces of water your body needs daily. Coffee, tea, juice, and colas don't count. Divide by 8 and this will tell you how many glasses of water you need each day.

Drinking this amount of water daily will naturally bring your blood pressure in line. A good friend of mine was able to discontinue his high blood pressure medication within 2 months of beginning this practice.

Keep in mind that strenuous physical activity and living in dry climates may increase your water requirements.

Hello everyone adn thanks so much for the great info. Long Story short is we live in Allergy county and well this yr was yr round for alot of us. I felt tired dizzy sinus issues and almost like asthmatic. So with dealing with all of that I gained 15 pounds in 3 months and was really depressed. I got to thinnking about my diet and realised I was eating pretty bad cheeese pizza dining out lots of salt ect. # days ago I checked my bp to see if went up due to the diet wieght gain as this has happened before. And it was 140/78 pulse 97. So I have changed my diet to no salt, cherries avacado seafoodfresh/frozen (not the breaded) chicken beans veggies. And started the cool water swims. After my laps I lay on the floatie in the water and put my head in the water and do a major head massage off/on 5- 10 minutes.

So today after discovering this site and before doing the cool water swim my bp was 141/78 pulse 103 3:30 pm. So I drank 3 tbs of the organic ACV then took a capsule of Cayenne 450 mg did my above swim workout and after my shower my bp had dropped 122/68 pulse 89 5:58 pm. This is remarkable. The cold water feeling is truly a miracle. My head is clear I feel like a million bucks. ANd thanks to this website and wonderful people I started the ACV and am so happy how quick this worked. I also have lost 3 pounds in just 5 days. I truly hope this info is helpful to you alll out there. I wish you all health wealth and happiness.

Special Diets

This is a must for those with HBP issues. I believe HBP to be directly related to the type of sodium in our food or artial plaque build up. In my case, and yes I had test run by a medical facility and everything was in good shape, my blood pressure always seemed to be borderline at around 130 over 90 and sometimes depending on what I ate or drank would go up to 140 over 95. So I believe my HBP to be related to the type of sodium in our foods.

I have expermented with this and can make my blood pressure increase and decrease with what I eat in my diet. My BP came down in one week to 118 over 76. I was truly amazed. Well after losing motivation I soon slipped off the diet and my BP slowly crept back up. After starting the diet once again, my BP was down.

I will give you the basic diet I used (There is a book on this, but I know Earth Clinic does not want titles or products) So you will need: A blender; Whey powder; Sea salt (All natural/unbleached); Ground Flax seed; Ice; Fresh or frozen fruits and veggies; Raw almonds and other nuts; Beans; Dairy of any kind, must be fat free or 1%; Unsweetened, unfavored instant oatmeal; Eggs; Lean meats; Peanut butter (again all natural); Olive Oil;100% Whole Grain cereals and bread; Berries (Fresh or Frozen); and Low fat yogurt.

So the goal is BP reduction, but you will lose weight with this also. You will be eating every 2 to 3 hours 6 times a day. Serving sizes should be no more than the palm of your hand and you basically combine the foods such as,1 ounce of almonds with 1 ounce of raisins as a snack or an apple and a cheese stick. For supper, a serving of Tuna, Spinach, Peas, and a glass of fat free milk. For desert, a few pieces of dark chocolate. I hope you get the idea.

The very best part is the smoothies though because you can actually drink 6 of them a day instead of meals and snacks. Take a blender, add 1 cup of crushed ice or 3 or 4 ice cubes, 1 cup of Fat free milk, 2 Tablespoons of low fat vannila yogurt, 2 Teaspoons of Whey powder. These are your basic ingredients and will be in every smoothie you consume. Now you add fresh or frozen fruit of any kind (about a cup) and 2 Teaspoons of peanut butter OR 1 pack of cooked instant oatmeal and blend (this usally makes two servings). A serving will be 12 to 16 ounces and can be drank up to 6 times a day spaced apart at every 2 to 3 hours.

A few teaspoons of flax seed spread over salads or added to smoothies is a good addition. Just remember to try to cook from Raw and add sea salt for flavor.

You can do smoothies all day or you can combine the other foods as snacks and meals. I really do wish I could name the book (Diet). Snacks can be a cup of low fat yogurt and a boiled egg or an egg sandwich on 100% Whole grain bread. I really hope this will help. Incorporating bananas and asparagus as part of this diet will help keep the kidneys flushed from sodium. If sodium is the cause of your HBP, this should be a cure.

Lycopene for High Blood Pressure: Lycopene in cooked tomatoes is supposed to be very good for high blood pressure. Apparently you get the most benefit from cooked tomatoes and apparently that's why a Mediterranean diet is supposed to be so good for you. I wondered whether you can buy it in tablet form and found that these tablets are available from health food stores.
