I got my Mule Team Borax from Ebay. It tastes a bit soapy, but I put into some Cherry cordial, and one teaspoon of the liquid concentrate really doesn't taste at all in that.

My fingers (RA) don't hurt at all today, and it's damp and cold here in the UK. Result!

Also, my kidney/bladder is not complaining at all today, either. (Healed UTI and suspected stone because of continuing trace blood in urine). Will test for blood at the end of the week.

The very first thing to do today and the rest of your life is to stop all ingestion of fluoride.

When your body has 2 parts per million fluoride, your white cell migration rate is "0" - (zero) - that means that your immune system is not active (not working)..

When you brush with fluoride toothpaste ===> you ingest 4 to 41/2 parts per million, your immune system has been compromised..

Following on from my comment. Just wanted to say that have found out I have psoriasis arthritis (even tho never had psoriasis) and have now started to see some results with the borax. A bony growth that had started on a knuckle has almost disappeared and the feeling that I had had in my fingers of the arthritis growing has diminished. Is anyone else out there with psoriasis arthritis in hands trying this with any results? The aches in my knee's which I have had since childhood have also disappeared. I will continue on with the borax.

Borax dosages:

I am just getting started with borax and I am working on coming up with the best dosage for myself. I have noticed there seems to be two different dosage recommendations that people are working with:

Ted's recommendation:

1/8 to 1/4 teaspoon of Borax powder dissolved in a certain amount of water, usually one liter, and drink that entire amount of water in divided doses or sipped throughout the day.

In this scenario, you have ingested between 1/8 and 1/4 teaspoon of Borax powder per day.

So far it appears to me from looking at other people's posts, and not doing my own calculations from my own measurements, that 1/8 of a teaspoon of Borax has approximately 75 mg of boron and 1/4 teaspoon of Borax has approximately 150 mg of boron.

Or

1tsp/L borax water:

1 teaspoon of Borax powder dissolved in 1 L of water and then take 1 teaspoon of Borax water or more each day.

1 teaspoon of Borax powder contains approximately 600 mg of boron. Since there are 203 teaspoons in 1 L, this would mean that 1 teaspoon of this borax Water would contain 1/203 teaspoon of Borax powder and approximately 3 mg of boron.

In comparison, taking 1/8 teaspoon of borax powder per day is a:

25 times larger dose than taking 1 teaspoon of the 1 teaspoon per liter borax water,

12.5 times larger dose than taking 2 teaspoons of the 1 teaspoon per liter borax water,

6.25 times larger dose than taking 3 teaspoons of the 1 teaspoon per liter borax water.

The above three numbers would be doubled if the comparison is with 1/4 teaspoon of Borax powder per day.

I just recently learned that one medical doctor out there that is a big fan of iodine, also recommends patients with osteoporosis to take 150 mg of boron per day for a year before they taper off to a lower maintenance dose. Which of course would be equivalent to taking 1/4 teaspoon of Borax powder per day.

I am 54 years old and for the last few years, my knee joints have really been sore. I started to take 5000 IU's Vit D3 per day for the last year or so. That has helped a lot, but I still feel sore, especially in the morning. I also have psoriasis, so maybe the soreness in my joints is the psoriatic arthritus creeping in.

I thought, after reading about borax here on this forum, I would give it a try. In one day, the soreness in my knees has vanished! Maybe it is too early to make any assumptions... Can it be true?

Also, my psoriasis seems alot better after 2 days drinking 1/4 tsp borax in 1 litre of water per day. I guess it it still to early to tell.... but I am amazed so far!!

I shall keep everyone informed on my progress....

I love this forum.....

Hi Tricia,

I slacked off on adding the trace mineral drops after a while, but here is the one I used: https://www.amazon.com/Trace-Minerals-Research-Concentrace-Mineral/dp/B005BP5UCM/

Thankfully, borax has continued to work incredibly well. I can still bend my thumbs without any issues. Two days ago, my previously bad thumb (the one that I couldn't bend over a year ago) was hit very hard during karate training and hurt like heck, but I went home and took a pinch of borax right away. Two days later, I can't tell it was hit. The soreness is completely gone. Amazing mineral!

For Women: 1/8 teaspoon of borax dissolved in 1 liter of water, sipped throughout the day. This is taken 5 days on and 2 days off. This is a general guideline. Larger women may benefit from a larger dose. Smaller men may benefit from a smaller dose. The elderly may do best with half of the recommended dose."

You were experiencing the Herxheimer response. It sounds exactly like the 'flu like symptoms' you had. Herxheimer is when your body is healing and sloughing off toxins that have built up in your system over a long period of time. You must power through this and healing is on the other side. By stopping the borax and intervening with allopathic medicine, you most likely hindered your ability to recover. I wonder if it'll still happen for you but only take a lot longer now...

Julieh12,

Here is an interesting abstract about the value of boron, a major component of borax, in human health.

Nothing Boring About Boron.

Abstract

The trace mineral boron is a micronutrient with diverse and vitally important roles in metabolism that render it necessary for plant, animal, and human health, and as recent research suggests, possibly for the evolution of life on Earth. As the current article shows, boron has been proven to be an important trace mineral because it (1) is essential for the growth and maintenance of bone; (2) greatly improves wound healing; (3) beneficially impacts the body's use of estrogen, testosterone, and vitamin D; (4) boosts magnesium absorption; (5) reduces levels of inflammatory biomarkers, such as high-sensitivity C-reactive protein (hs-CRP) and tumor necrosis factor α (TNF-α); (6) raises levels of antioxidant enzymes, such as superoxide dismutase (SOD), catalase, and glutathione peroxidase; (7) protects against pesticide-induced oxidative stress and heavy-metal toxicity; (8) improves the brains electrical activity, cognitive performance, and short-term memory for elders; (9) influences the formation and activity of key biomolecules, such as S-adenosyl methionine (SAM-e) and nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD(+)); (10) has demonstrated preventive and therapeutic effects in a number of cancers, such as prostate, cervical, and lung cancers, and multiple and non-Hodgkin's lymphoma; and (11) may help ameliorate the adverse effects of traditional chemotherapeutic agents. In none of the numerous studies conducted to date, however, do boron's beneficial effects appear at intakes > 3 mg/d. No estimated average requirements (EARs) or dietary reference intakes (DRIs) have been set forboron-only an upper intake level (UL) of 20 mg/d for individuals aged ≥ 18 y. The absence of studies showing harm in conjunction with the substantial number of articles showing benefits support the consideration of boron supplementation of 3 mg/d for any individual who is consuming a diet lacking in fruits and vegetables or who is at risk for or has osteopenia; osteoporosis; osteoarthritis (OA); or breast, prostate, or lung cancer.

Hi all, Borax rocks....of the laundry shelf, in the supermarket. I sprinkle it on like table salt, on my breakfast, and a little sugar ( its breakfast you know )...its through you by seven hours, but for me once a day is enough. Its fantastic, it like lubricates my joints, eliminates pain, and sparks me up.

Me - 61yrs, Rhm/A, Ost/A, require a knee opp, but planning not to for go it, so little pain, am thinking I may reduce all the medications, soon, been taking it over a year and a half, into my second jar of Borax.

Some of you are a little pedantic on consumption. Over use will cause nausea and diarrhea, just like to much table salt. So try and see what works for you. The rest of my diet stayed the same. No harm in trying this ...Borax.

Better health to you all. Pip

Join Diatomaceous Earth, and Human Parasite Support groups on Facebook. Borax and DE are known parasite killers and these groups are very informative. It sounds like this could've been the cause of your reaction. You can start taking a binder like activated charcoal to help prevent and eliminate side effects of the chemicals that parasites release when they die.

Pam, first of all, I like to recommend never to fear anything. Trust GOD and be free of that feeling that can only make things worse for you. Second, I believe that your body needs more time to take use to this wonderful medicine. My recommendation is that you take it for three days straight, and stop for taking it for too. Then three days again, and stop another too. Do this for a couple of months and see how your body reacts. After a while, you might want to take it for four days and two days break, then 6 days and two days break and so on until your body absorbs it without causing any side effects.
GOD BLESS!

Hi Pamela,

The sister of my friend came back for a visit around Thanksgiving and she told me that she is pain free now from the arthritis that she felt would keep her from ever visiting her sister again. She told me she is continuing to take her borax water for the other benefits that it has shown in other people.

As to her sister, my friend, she won't know anything until this coming summer at the earliest when her doctor may likely test her to see if her osteoporosis has improved or not. Her doctor is still nagging her to take the self injections, but she has told her doctor, the only way she will take the injections is if she can stop by the doctor's office and have a nurse do the injections for her. Her doctor flatly told her no!

This is a question for Art.

Background: I've been diagnosed with osteopenia, & some age-related osteoarthritis, and am mostly non-symptomatic especially when I'm consistent in completely avoiding sugar, dairy, and "bad" carbs! I'm 67 and a post-kidney transplant patient. This was a pre-emptive transplant back in 2016 meaning I never had to go on dialysis. My sister donated one of her kidneys. I'm in generally very good health, and per my last yearly follow-up appt with my transplant coordinator, my blood work (kidney function, etc.) has been excellent over these past 6 years. She also stated that since I'm a perfect match with my sister (based on certain markers), I virtually would never run the risk of rejecting the new kidney, and thus slightly decreased my immunosuppressant doses.

My question: In your opinion, would it be "safe" for me to follow this Borax protocol for women? This would be the 1/8 tspn of Borax per liter of water sipped throughout the day for the recommended amount of days.

Of course I would check with my transplant coordinator first, as I've always done when wanting to take a new supplement.

Thanks for all your input to EC!

Renee,

I'm glad your arthritis is continuing to improve with your regular use of borax! Clearly your pain levels have declined significantly! It is the simplest, least expensive and easy to take remedy for different types of arthritis. I am also glad that you are one of the lucky ones who can tolerate borax!

Your results seem similar to mine where I just got steady improvement until all symptoms were just gone.

How long have you been on the 1/8th teaspoon dose?

Three to four months is supposedly when you have reached the maximum improvement that borax seems to offer.

I don't heat mine to dissolve it because I'm putting mine in coffee. I only put it in cold water one time and I believe it dissolved ok. It was such a tiny amount and I had lemon in it so it was hard to see in a colored plastic pool cup. I heated it to dissolve it in large amounts to use topical but have since stopped using it topically because I didn't see any added benefits after 2 or 3 weeks of use. I may try it again at some point. I also did a bath with it and baking soda, my skin dried to a crisp. I may have overdone it though, 3 nights in a row! It cleaned my bathtub jets though!

I had very bad bursitis in my shoulder. I used a solution of borax and water (1 tsp / 1 liter) and soaked a cotton cloth and applied it to my shoulder several times a day.

I was hesitant to drink the solution, so decided applying it topically would be OK (not sure why I thought that, the skin is a huge organ which absorbs all kinds of things, including Epsom salts and baking soda in a bath) The application at room temperature felt so good and relieving. After about a week, the swelling in my shoulder had diminished and pain was greatly relieved. I kept it up for weeks, and the bursitis went away. My orthopedist wanted to inject cortisone. I said I would consider it if taking glucosamine and condroitin didn't help and that I would let him know. He actually told me that some of his patients had good results from quitting dairy consumption since dairy is an inflammatory...so I did that, also.

I somehow got to the information on this site about borax and was fascinated by the testimonials. I was wondering why the people stopped posting to it. It has been a over a year. Do you think it's because it really doesn't work to cure arthritis as Walter Last says it does?

I have been taking it since June 20 and I am still alive. Amazing. I am taking Mr. Last's recommendation 1 level tsp in a liter of water as my base solution. I started with 1 tsp of this solution 3 times a day for me and 1/4 tsp for my under 10 pound cat. Was it Rex Newman who took 30 milligrams of borax twice a day because he figured out that 30 grams was toxic. This gave him 6 mgs of boron per day which eventually cured his arthritis. I hope I have this info correct.

I must say I was fearful to take something that says not to take it internally. I was still alive (not sick) after a week so I decided to take two three times a day. Now I am up to three three times a day and guess what I am still alive and so is my cat.

My neck was unable to turn very far right or left because it was stiff. The amount of turn has increased enough to say that something is happening.

I am trying to figure out how to ingest 30mgs of borax a day into my body so I can get 6 mgs of boron a day. Does anyone know how to compute it?

We get borax feedback regularly on EC. Please make sure to read our borax page for the most recent reviews.

BETTER BUT WITH SIDE EFFECTS

Hello, I have been supplementing with borax for five days. I have followed Ted's guidelines on 1/8 of a teaspoon in litre of water and drink further bottled water throughout the day. I am also taking 200mg magnesium, vit b, vitd, vit c, evening primrose, and fish oil.

I have osteopenia brought on by early menopause, I'm currently post menopausal, I'm 45. I also have some arthritis in my fingers and toes. The arthritis is my main reason for supplementing as I'm a seamstress and will need to work well to my retirement. The first day I'm sure felt some relief but things seem to have slowed down. Although. Have no pain I still have bumps and stiffness.

I have also had some diarrhoea the past two days but this could be my ibs. I just wanted to ask everyone's experience with time scales and if the diarrhoea will pass. I'm still using fluoride toothpaste as non fluoride is so expensive, however I do have plenty of coconut oil and bicarb. Any advice please. Thank you.

Thanks Art, more good info on Boron.

From a lay perspective, I would venture to guess that of all the benefits listed for Boron is not simply something magical about the mineral except that it is an alkalizer. Many of the conditions listed are in conjunction with acidosis, although Boron has it's specific healing qualities.

A very warm Epsom Salts & Borax bath once a month would sure to right the ship for many folks.

G'day Russel from Oz,

I have been using Turkish Borax in my diet and home for a couple of years with arthritis and osteoarthritis and am very pleased with the results, severe pain has subsided to occasional negligible and generally bearable.

Your question regarded mixing it with water ... I began with a 1/4 teaspoon orally, twice a day washed down with lemon water and as I began to go through the healing process, I gradually weaned myself to, currently, using it as you would use salt.

That is to say, anything that I cook with salt, I add as much Borax as salt. When I bake my bread, I add as much Borax as salt. I brush my teeth with virgin coconut oil, Borax and hydrogen peroxide.

I live in the northern tropical zone of Oz and to keep the ants, cockroaches etcetera at bay I use honey, Borax and some warm water to blend them .

Russell, you are only limited by your own imagination, do your research and be thorough.

Do not take borax at bedtime on an empty stomach! Take right after breakfast with food, preferably with some carbs. If 1/4 teaspoon in a liter of water a day bothers you start with a smaller amount 1/16 teaspoon or less and work the dosage up to 1/4. Still some people may not be able to tolerate any borax.

1/8 of an teaspoon of borax is a huge amount! Now you may get away with that and I see that formula on the internet consistently. 1/8 of a teaspoon for females, daily, in a liter of water, sipped throughout the day. A quarter teaspoon for males. But the original formula, is quite different and vastly and significantly lower in dosage, than this new formula! The original formula by the man who pioneered it, was to take one rounded teaspoon of Borax and put it in one liter of water. Then start out slowly with one teaspoon, of this solution, that you just made in a 1 liter bottle (1 Liter, for all of us Americans, is about four and a quarter cups of water) And mix it with your favorite juice or drink it straight and chase it with something. Do that once in the morning with a meal or drink and if that doesn't upset your stomach do it again in the evening. For aggravated conditions of disease, like arthritis, do this three times a day. Using that original formula, you can see where the math wouldn't add up, if you were to take anywhere from 1/8 reason, to a 1/4 of a teaspoon, per day or twice a day!

Don't know if u'll see this- urs is an old post. Possible reason for your reactions: If you used Borax from the grocery store, it could have contaminants/dirt because it's not food grade. Because it's sold as a laundry booster, sanitary conditions aren't very scrutinized. I decided to go with the 2 straight weeks approach. So far I only had to take 5mg prednisone 2 times in 2 weeks, once for the chronic hives I get and one time for inflammation in my arthritis. Other than that I feel relatively great considering I take no medication or NSAIDS. I still have a little inflammation in my elbow, my wrist and a few fingers but it's not painful, just visibly noticeable. Today and tomorrow I will take 2 days off and try the 5 days on approach since I seem to tolerate the borax so well. I don't have any ill side effects from it at all. I have a bottle of hydroxychloroquine sitting on my desk waiting for me to begin taking it. As long as the borax continues to help me I will not take that medication but I'm glad I have it as a backup in case I stop having success with home remedies. That and my few prednisone are sort of my emergency stash that just gives me comfort knowing I have it. I still haven't made an eye appointment that is required to take the HC because I have faith that I will not need it. Some people I tell what I am doing think I'm out of my mind but others keep their mouths shut because they know I research practically everything and that I hate big Pharma and most doctors. I constantly make fun of every commercial pushing drugs that cause worse conditions than what you have. The only reason I accepted the HC is because I felt that would be the safest of all of the RA drugs if I had no other choice. Another Update on DMSO: I have been putting it on specific areas every night for about 2 weeks. I don't know if it's helping or not but will continue to use it until it's gone, then I will re-evaluate. Another update on taking a bath with Borax, Epsom salts and Baking Soda: My skin got extremely DRY. I tend to overdo things and I took this bath 3 nights in a row. My skin got real flakey! On the upside, the jets in my tub got real clean, lol. I stopped this bath because I don't think it helped any more than just a bath with Epsom salts. My skin is much happier.

Yes, the idea is to get a constant amount in the bloodstream to get it into the cells consistently instead of ups & downs. If you know the half life of borax in the body, you can adjust it more precisely.

We are banned from buying DMSO here in so-called democratic, free New Zealand.

Vets can use it and you can buy that quality for your farm animals or race horses.

BUT people NO.

Not even if it is just an ingredient in the product as on Amazon.

Liz,

You might try a topical over the counter pain reliever that I have found to be fairly effective for pain relief. It is called Stopain and comes in a roll on bottle. Here is a link to it :

https://www.amazon.com/Stopain-Extra-Strength-Roll-Triple/dp/B000GG12IM/ref=sr_1_1?crid=1HKBI0F64YUWF&keywords=Stopain&qid=1680713981&sprefix=stopain,aps,142&sr=8-1&th=1

It is also available at Walmart if you have one near you.

I know Boron is strongly recommended for Arthritis but even so, that seems like a remarkably quick cure!

Normally, arthritics spend years searching for just a little relief, never mind such a rapid recovery.

Are you sure it was Arthritis you experienced?

I like the idea of a few drops placed under the tongue: that is the way in which Homeopathic remedies are supposed to be rapidly absorbed, so good for you for going down that track.

I would love to know for how long you took the treatment before you experienced relief in your fingers?

Also, how many seconds did you keep the drops there before swallowing: that might be significant.

That would be useful information to learn from you.

Cheers from Down Under

Thanks for your input BevilNC! I broke my back 12 years ago and wonder if I now have arthritis or calcification; seems likely, given my age now (54). I just started using borax externally about 4 nights ago; so far I notice a little improvement in terms of less stiffness and ache. I might try taking it (20 Mule Team) internally now, after reading all these posts.

Remember while you are using borax or boron that it is ONE of your minerals and you need to keep them in balance or your body will produce histamine and you will have histamine symptoms until you get those minerals back into balance with water. Borax removes calcium out of soft tissue and let loose stones into organs . Chanca Piedra is nicknamed stonebreaker.

Julieh12,

Borax works very well for me, but it takes time to achieve the full benefit (months).

As far as I can tell, Dr. Rex Newnham populararized the use of borax decades ago to treat different types of arthritis and one of the things he found out through his experiments is that it can take 3 to 4 months to get the maximum benefit from borax for arthritis, especially if you are older and/or have had arthritis for quite awhile or it is severe.

Dr. Newnham also used boron effectively at far lower doses than Ted suggested as beneficial. If I remember correctly, Ted said that the lower doses would work also, but it would just take longer to get the maximum benefit. I used Ted's dosing to good effect.

Magnesium can contribute to diarrhea, so if that is a new addition to your supplements, you could dial it back a little until your body adjusts to it.

@Starswalker: The symptoms you report are classic detox and die-off reactions. The Borax is removing the Fluorides and other heavy metals as well as killing pathogens. All this stuff courses through the circulatory system (which puts stress on the heart). To support the heart supplement Magnesium, CoQ10, and Carnitine. To help the liver detox the bad stuff being mobilized by the Borax, supplement 1grm NAC before a meal and take 3mg Melatonin before retiring. These two nutrients will dramatically increase you antioxidant levels which should reduce the shock your body is experiencing.

Arthritis

Boron itself generally will not kill the arthritis infection. It needs borax to kill the infection. Data seems to indicate that boron can be preventative once the infection is gone.

You didn't specify how long you took the borax for. Your post seems to indicate only 3 days or maybe 3 months. At proper dose, the cure usually takes 3 weeks. Around what age are you and what other things are you taking.

This kind of gets neglected in borax posts but without enough magnesium in the body, it may cause the borax protocol to not work. Ted has even said that. Also borax does chelate some minerals out of the body also. So take some magnesium (magnesium glycinate is good choice) with it if you aren't taking any.

Given RA effects fingers, that would be a preferable place to have side effect because it would indicate to me that some type of herxheimer reaction is occurring and borax is attempting to fight infection.Maybe your lacking another nutrient or maybe some toxin is blocking it. Ut takes self detective work.

I think Timh posts had good ideas about detoxing body. It is good you reported the side effect here for other people. You really need to stay with it and try to figure it out by continue to experiment. Don't give up.

Hi Brian...1/4 tspn borax with water 2 or 3 times a day is way too high a dose and not what is recommended on this site.

Ted's Borax remedy is 1/4 tspn in a liter of water per day. Drink this liter of water slowly throughout the whole day. Do not drink it all down in one go.

My husband's knees were so bad he needed surgery, one week on voltaflex and he is fine, I also had bad knees, not like his, but I started taking it.... We've been taking it for 7 years now. We've told many people about it and it has worked for all of them.

I've tried several glucosamine brands in the USA without any relief at all. I buy Voltaflex at the Zurich train station pharmacy, it's over the counter, costs about 12. dollars per month.

BRIAN; I read your comments and clearly your symptoms are detox pains-- as you continue taking borax the borax is flushing out the toxins and your symptoms are detox pains. Just stop using the borax for a few days let your body flush out the toxins and when the detox pain subsides then resume the borax--and---just cut your borax consumption in half. Just let the borax do its healing slowly and let your body flush out the toxins....do it slowly so you have less detox pain just give yourself plenty of time--- set a 6 month plan in motion and be sure to just cut the dosage in half --if the detox pain returns--- that's just the toxin flush out---and it will get easier as most toxins get flushed out.

I started with just a pinch a day on May 10th but got nervous and bought Boron supplements. Started 6mg Born supplements on May 15th. When that didn't help I went to 1/8th Borax on May 18th, 4 days on 3 days off. After reading about your friend who took it 2 straight weeks I started that on May 25th to yesterday, June 8th. So even though I started May 10th it wasn't a consistent amount. Today I'm feeling a lot of inflammation in my hand for some reason. The only thing I did different was eat some ice cream the other night. I wonder if that contributed. The other thing is I find it easier to measure 1/8th and put half in my coffee in the AM and the other half later in the day. Is there a reason it's supposed to be sipped thruout the day? Is it more effective that way or less side effects for some?

Thank you for your quick response. Unfortunately, StopPain is out of stock at Amazon US and went online to Amazon in Canada, out of stock and have no indication when product will arrive. They don't carry it in Walmart.ca. I will keep looking for it online.

I have read all your posts on this site and feel that you are quite knowledgeable. I'm wondering why I reacted to the borax externally when I have been drinking it and quite often bathing with it with Epsom
salts for the past year without any effects.

I'm not taking any drugs to dull the pain. Today used Aloe vera plant gel and rubbed into pain spots. Helped for 1/2 hour. Going to see Dr. tomorrow for what other tests to see what's going on with my right side. And buy caster oil and use that combination with DSMO and see if it helps. Thanks for all your help.

1 ml = 20 drops, so 100 ml = 2000 drops For 1 drop to equal 6 mg of Boron, 2000 drops must have 12000 mg of Boron or 1.2g. But Borax is not pure Boron. 25 to 30 mg of Borax contains 3 mg of Boron.

To make the calculation simpler I will choose 30 mg. That means 1 mg of Boron is contained in 10 mg of Borax. We need 1.2 g of Boron, which is in 12 g of Borax. You need 12g of Borax per 100 ml of water. I'm not sure that much Borax will dissolve in that much water. If not, add another 100 ml of water. Then you will have to use 2 drops to get your 6 mg of Boron.

Hard to know if borax would make your fatigue worse or better. Some find it helps with fatigue. Others find that, at first, it can make one feel worse. A normal dose of borax for women (1/8 t.) makes me feel awful for 24 hours. I think I am just detoxing.

You could try starting with small amounts if you want. Like just a pinch in your coffee in the morning. And increase slowly if you like.

Personally I have been using Borax recently in a hot bath for the treatment of fungal infection with modest results. I also add a generous amount of other major and trace minerals to the bath for general health reasons. 1/4 -1/2 cup Borax and no bad side effects to report.

You can see in sercher in group Diatomaceus earth maby there is some info. Slow, and if you have detox that stop for 2 days, a lot of water and use again in slower doses, then after some time slow up doses. Bigger doses fast can crush stones in kidneys and is not good for kidneys fast. If BX does not fit for you, just use some organic boron supplements, and do some anti-parasitic programe by drHulda Clark, nature program whit 3 herbs, wormwood must be in powder here, to kill parasites, becouse they can make arthritis also.

By that afternoon, bam, it was like the pain had doubled, so I feel confident I had what you had. Hurt all night, but by this morning, I was back to my normal arthritic pain in my back/pelvic area. They say that effect is a good sign because it means something about Candida and releasing toxins, which will create that pain. So this morning, I'm putting two pinches in each cup to see how that does. If toxins are being released, I want them gone, so hoping this is gonna continue working. Will keep ya posted. Fine for a few days then depression hit. Lot of muccus out of nose and chest and chest very painful. Headaches, very sore eyeballs and weeping tears. Could be a bad cold but dont think so. Hi - Re Borax... I take Boron every day in capsul form. It is amazing for arthritis. I used to have bad hand pain every morning, now I only have it when I have not taken my boron for a few days. I am wondering if Borax and Boron are similar or even the same thing? I am one of those people who has a hard time considering consuming laundry soap. Even in such small amounts, the thought of it is - pardon the pun - hard for me to swallow. ;)

In my opinion anyone with arthritis pain or osteoperosis would do well to look up boron on the search engines. Boron is one of the KEY components for building bone, along with Magnesium, Vitamin D-3 and Calcium. I try to keep my supplimental calcium intake at the lowest level possible and when I do take it it is a 1:1 ratio with Magnesuim. Vitamin D I take at leat 4,000 iu a day. I live in the North, and there is virtually zero sun here in the fall and winter. All I can say is if you have joint pain or bone issues - read up on all of the above - They are amazing! Here is to a Happy and Healthy New Year! Carly

I've been putting the borax and xylitol into my drinking water but haven't noticed any change in my arthritic pain. The pain and immobility have been getting worse every day, with it suddenly affecting my fingers as well as elbow, shoulders, but my knees are the worst. I have a hard time walking. I'm only 57. I'm just wondering if someone can explain the protocol about only drinking the borax water for 5 days of the week. I have done many, many things that are recommended to cleanse the body, taking this supplement and that, I don't eat nightshades, I don't eat processed foods, drink pop, eat mainly vegetables, fruits, protein, am off gluten and grains. I've had no relief. I'm not a fan of conventional medicine but have had to succumb to NSAIDs as otherwise I don't think I would even be walking at this point. I get acupuncture, physiotherapy, see a Naturopath and am determined to find the right combination for me to be rid of this. I wouldn't even mind limping if I could just be free of the pain. Thanks.

I am taking minocyclin antibiotic 100 mg. Monday, Wensday, Friday. After 4 months, my life changed complitely. Now I can do everything myself. It still hurts when I walk , but it is getting better with each passing day. Hope it will help to all of you who suffers with RA. Before I tried everything nothing helped. google Dr.Brown's protocol for RA. And read his work. It took me 4, 5 months to cure RA. I believe that RA is a bacterial decease, hence antibiotics works.

Trying a few antibiotics for chronic diseases can yield good results. My fms pain symptom started to disappear the second day on minocin. five different prescriptions of minocycline didn't work. Minocin completely stomped the fms out. I also believe any fms that includes inflammatory symptoms is an infection. fms is a murky disease category.

Curious, did you try borax and experimenting with removing dairy, gluten etc for your RA. It's good to know what didn't work for people.

I am mentioning this because over the last two decades plus I have learned that eating habits are hereditary. If one really examines what is being eaten and in what combination, I feel you may find how true this is. This has not been well accepted but it is my two cents!

I suppose people that go through life in an unconscious state might well mimic what their parents ate.

I really want to try Borax. I have a container of Bare Essentials from the local supermarket. I've looked up the MSDS online for both Bare Essentials brand and borax in general and all the responses are the same. Do not invest, harmful to inhale and the foetal abnormalities warning too. Just wondering where to see the results you're referring to please.

I'm not great with maths so need some help. I'd like to make my own boron drops to place in tea as I prefer to drink different fluids during the day. If I have a 100 ml dropper bottle, and wish each drop to represent 6mg boron, exactly what quantity of borax would I had to the 100 mls to make such?

Thank you, Art. So all good then. I look forward to the improvement. I was on omeprazole for a very long time and through research found out it can cause osteoporosis. I am hoping the borax will reverse my osteopenia so I don't develop osteoporosis.

It seems to me that BORIC ACID should NOT be used like BORON or BORAX. It has it's uses, but, as far as I know, boric acid is only used externally.

I was excited about your immediate relief from taking borax, so I have some questions about your arthritis. How long have you had it and which kind of arthritis is it? Is it in your knees? Is it in your feet or hands? Are you 65 or older? Are you over weight or do you have normal weight?

I tried boron for a minor arthritis in some fingers. The first evening there was a tiny bit of stinging at the tip of one finger. The next evening the tips of several fingers on one hand stung. The third evening the tips of all fingers on one hand were stinging enough to keep me awake. It's a couple months ago I don't remember if the tips of the other hand were starting to sting or not, I think so but am not sure.

Nowhere near a joint of fingernail - the fleshy fingertips were stinging badly. I was really scared. Stopped the boron, then the stinging died away over about 4 days.

20 Mule team Borax, ingredients sodium tetraborate, 1/8t tsp (or somewhat less) in a quart of water over the day.

I searched for what stinging fingertips could be a symptom of but found nothing, no web site suggesting boron for arthritis suggests any such side effect, so I'm curious if anyone has any idea what might have been going on. I was using 2 tsp ACV + baking soda in a liter of water over the course of the day at the same time. ACV has never caused side effects for me.

The boron had no effect on the arthritis as far as I can tell but I used it only those few days.

Helen: It would be nearly impossible to determine specifically what is causing the stinging, but generally it is surely a "detox reaction". We know that Borax has a neutralizing effect on several heavy metals and chemicals like fluoride. I would suggest backing up and doing any number of detox remedies found here on E.C, while continuing a small dose of Borax. A very good multivitamin/mineral supplement which contains whole foods, enzymes etc (the longer the profile the better) is the first step in detox. Cruciferous vegetable and their extracts like I3C, DIM, will greatly enhance your defenses while helping detox the body.

You needed to drink more water to flush. It would have also been a good idea to walk a few miles to stimulate the circulation, thereby mobilizing the detoxification systems. The stinging was the boron reacting with the precipitates at the fingertip regions. Absent adequate water to flush and exercise to circulate, you have a small smoldering fire going on at the end of each fingertip.

I feel like I have tried everything for my arthritis and joint pain but, in truth, I continue to find new solutions. I am recommitting to the ACV daily and borax/4ays/week after reading about others' relief. Gut health and sufficient proper minerals are so key!

My newest hope comes from the awareness of my uneven muscle stength and areas of weakness- especially in the hip/glut/quad areas. A few weeeks ago, I read about Functional Movement Screen (FMS) and started seeing a trainer to assess and coach me to improve uneven muscles. I also had a PT assessment.

I have an old knee injury and drive a stick shift. I started Zumba about 6 months ago (big fun! ) and could see that my right leg was skinnier than my left. So I did some workouts of single leg with weights and found a BIG difference in strength between right and left leg. Next, the PT noticed that my hips were not aligned. Well, imagine what all that does to my back and other joints! I think, due to uneven muscles and use, my joints have been pulled and tugged out of balance for some time.

My best new hope came after I saw the trainer. She gave me some FMS exercises and kept reminding me to keep my abs in with a natural arch in my back. The next day and each day since I feel relief when I hold my abs in and try to keep my spine in good alignment.

I have taken all the western meds in the past and will take an IB when I just really must but I know that those things are penny wise and pound foolish. While there can be symptom relief, there is no free lunch. I am so alerted to side effects of western meds. that I take remedies to rebuild whenever I indulge.

To our health! (holding a glass of mild borax)

Taffy, thanks for the borax toast!!! :)

I just got a Kindle book that is helpful for chronic aches and pains: "3 minutes to a pain free life, but Joseph Weisberg and Heidi Shink". The exercises are short (not easy yet... ) and seem to be helping. That and the book "Pain free" by Pete Egoscue are my favorites right now for muscles and joints.

My comment is on the Borax for arthritis. I tried the ACV (for about two weeks) and didn't seem to be getting any results. So, I started adding the 1/8tsp of borax in a liter of water (drank through out the day). The next day after adding the borax, my knees (where I was having "arthritis pains," I'm guessing, I was never diagnosed officially.) began to feel less swollen. It's been about a week and my knees feel about 80% better. I know this is anecdotal, but thought I would share. I cannot prove it was the Borax (or that the ACV didn't also contribute). I am currently continuing with both and will see how it goes. I truly believe it was the borax. I'm 40 yrs old (female) and used to distance run for about twenty years until I started having knee issues. My mother also has osteoarthritis, diagnosed officially. I mention this because I wonder if it could be hereditary? Anyways, thanks for the info on borax. I will continue it and see how it goes. For now, I believe it has given my knees a big turn around in a small amount of time.

From the fibromyalgia section: Ted and Bill recommend 1/8tsp borax in 1 l water daily for 4 days, off for 3. Continue indefinitely- replaces flouride and may take a long time to get it all removed, plus new exposures. I think Ted somewhere suggested taking a few months off every year. If you feel better, you could stop, then start again when flouride builds back up and causes pain. It is androgenic according to Bill- so you will get a testosterone boost, which gives a little kick to the flagging libido most of us have from toxic crap in our bodies. A tiny bit of testosterone is ok for women, though you don't know how much a pinch of Borax affects testosterone levels. Choose your battles, I suppose.

I have tried many things on this site for I assume flouride toxcity (my mainstream dentist told me I have frank flourosis- stage4 toxicity of flouride), and borax does seem to do something positive for me for pain.
