After taking a teaspoon of the Borax diluted solution daily for candida, without undue issues for many months, I increased the dosage maybe to a desert spoon and found that a tear would appear on each big toe and I would have to stop the Borax until it healed.

I tested this at least three times to see if it was Borax or the Lysine that I was also taking causing the tear.

Today, after a month of no Borax (and no problem arising from the Lysine supplement), I have again commenced with one teaspoon of the solution and I will monitor the skin reaction on my toes. I wondered whether anyone else has experienced this.

EC: Hi Hedy,

We assume you are referring to Walter Last's concentrated dosage where you take a teaspoon a day from the concentrate, which amounts to a very small amount of boron. Just so everyone is clear on that!

Hi Hedy,

Where on the toe is the tear, top or bottom? The borax could be slowly clearing a fungal infection slowly, which is coming to the surface. Because the issue is manifesting on your foot, I am guessing fungal, where so many people have issues, including myself!

Alternatively, the borax might be causing some kind of deficiency which you will need to resolve, one that causes your skin to tear or split. You may be low in a certain vitamin or mineral and the borax depletes it even more. Vitamin C or Vitamin B perhaps?

I suspect your increase in dose could cause die off of fungal infection candida and it affects feet . Eric Berg does videos on youtube on feet and liver. I use borax but gave up my candida fight because stress produces cortisol that feeds candida and I haven't overcome that yet so no point in the fight until I overcome the stress. I will overtake it.The other thought I had was that borax is one of your minerals and could throw other minerals out of balance causing skin issue on feet. Blessings, Charity

I am taking 1/4 teaspoon of Borax daily 5 days a week for more than a month, and affected my sleep pattern and I cannot sleep. Any suggestion what should I do? I also have 3 mg Boron capsule, Is it safer to use capsule, rather than Borax?

Thanks.

Dr. Flechas suggested taking the borax first thing in the morning as being best, as he felt borax taken late in the day could tend to wake you up. Failing that, you could try reducing your dose a bit.

Keep in mind that when Ted decided on the dose he would use for men or women, I think he chose a dose that would be safe, yet obtain the quickest results. If you take borax for two months and don't see much benefit, you may feel like borax isn't working and stop taking it. I think Ted chose a dose that the majority of people would respond to fairly quickly, yet still be safe.

The founder of borax for arthritis, Dr. Rex Newnham, found that many of his patients could get by on as little as 7 mg/day of boron as a maintenance dose once full benefit was achieved. That dose is not effective for me, but must have been useful for many of his patients since he chose it. Ted's dosing of 1/4 teaspoon/day for men and 1/8th teaspoon for women delivers significantly more boron than this. The 1/4 teaspoon dose of borax is approximately 980 mg of borax of which 11.3% is boron. 980 *.113 = 110 mg of boron for men and 55 mg of boron for women. So as you can see, there is a significant difference between what Ted was recommending and what the founder of borax for arthritis, Dr. Newnham was recommending.

Ted previously said that less would work, but it would just take longer to work.

Hi

I was buying the borax supplement (3 mg) on Italian amazon. In the reviews, I found a customer's comment ... "A study showed that the administration of 3 mg of boron in postmenopausal women resulted in fewer of nutrients important for bone health. Women have absorbed about 40% less calcium, 33% less magnesium and a little less phosphorus "... I'm out of menopause, and I'd like to start take boron for mycosis and candida .. But I'm afraid.

Anyone know anything about it?

Sorry for my English..

Editor's Choice Vaiolett,

This is approximately the exact opposite of what boron studies show. Boron is quite useful as an osteoporosis antagonist, especially when combined with vitamin D and its cofactors such as magnesium, calcium, vitamin A etc.

Here is a typical study of boron in relation to osteoporosis.

https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/30262295/

By the way, 3 mg of boron is almost nothing! For comparison, let's use Ted's recommended dose of Borax for women for the purpose of ameliorating arthritis symptoms. He recommends 1/8th teaspoon of borax for women which is around 480 mg of borax. Borax is approximately 11.3% boron. Multiply .113 x 480 = 54.24

So in his arthritis remedy for women you would be getting approximately 55 mg of boron per day for 5 days of the week with Saturday and Sunday off!

When I took 3 mg of boron, it gave absolutely zero relief from my arthritis. Whereas when I took Ted's dose of borax for men which equates to approximately 110 mg of boron per day, my arthritis went into complete remission for well over a decade now! No pain at all!

The men's dose as recommended by Ted is double the women's dose, so a 1/4 teaspoon of borax for men instead of the women's dose of 1/8th teaspoon. Btw, these are USA based baker's measuring spoons.

Lastly, if osteoporosis or osteopenia is a concern for you, consider the following article which should also help you steer away from osteopenia or osteoporosis:

Good luck!

Art, thanks for the timely reply!

I am a woman, tall and weighing almost 80kg .. For this reason I decided to take the dose as for men. I started with half a gram in 1 liter of distilled water, drinking all afternoon .. I haven't noticed any difference for 3 days .. So I put a spoonful of tea in a liter of distilled water, and I drank 100 ml of the mix a day.

On the fifth day, I took the 100ml dose on an empty stomach in the morning, and it prompted me to go to the bathroom. Then I made the enema with a liter of distilled water with 3 tablespoons of baking soda plus 50ml of organic apple cider vinegar. The one who unloaded my body has crushed me without precedent .. Tangles of an abundant cartilage ... I do not know, but I believe that it is the candida, which has detached from my intestine .. It is a really disgusting thing!!!!

I will wait until next week with borax protocol, and then I see if there are general improvements on perianal eczema, in the navel, on the hands and crusts on the head .. Aching joints .. I think, that all of this, they are co-factors of the candida ..

PS: I have some discomfort with the USA measures .. And I often do some blunder.

A warm greeting and thanks for your kindness. Vaiolett

Hi Art. Great that your arthritis is healed. As a man, I would also like to start with 1/4 of a teaspoon per day. However, being a bit of a hypochondriac, I googled max. safe daily dose and the answer everywhere was 20 mg of boron. This is less than 1/5th of your dose. Please guide me - thanks.

That is an incorrect calculation there. Use Aqua-calc and see the weight of the 1/8 teaspoon of borax: 1062mg. 11.36% of that is 120mg.

So 1/8 tsp of Borax = 120mg boron

First ask yourself what are you afraid of? What if it happens and how bad can it get. That always helps me jump off the cliff. I am hanging onto one right now and I am using borax in my water each day for a little over a week. I did some other death defying acts lately but nothing happened that I was fearing. Fear is a door so always keep that in mind. It is better to dive into what is behind the fear and deal with it . As far as minerals go borax is needed to move calcium out of soft tissue into bones and teeth. Salt is one of our minerals. Silica affects calcium and so does vitamin D and K-2. Threonine affects the teeth and calcium. I'm really thinking about dandelions and use comfrey every day. Dandelions are interesting because I am on acreage and almost every yellow flower is a fake dandelion. The real ones have the thick stem with one flower on it. I found one today and plan to eat it for breakfast . I hear it's full of potassium and other minerals . Now the borax will release calcium out of soft tissue and can cause stones and they can be dissolved with stonebreaker( chanca piedra ) I use that most days.

As far as how much borax I started out with in my 12 oz water just a tiny dusting pinch daily for a week and then a little bigger tiny pinch this week. I think borax is the youth mineral...and affects hormones too. Oh Yeah it kicks up against candida so use molybdenum with it.

Charity!

Wise your words, thank you very much!

I've been taking borax for 5 days.

I overcame my fear!!

Should I take these additions near borax, which you have indicated in your post, as soon as possible, to avoid some healthy problem?

I only noticed a little backache, but nothing shocking..Other thing, if I take borax on an empty stomach, I have to go to the bathroom..I think it means detoxification ..

You named dandelion, I make smoothies and

I add artichokes squeezed with a little Celtic salt and

organic lemon with peel..Really cleans ..

Hugs back to you, every solution seems to bring some discomfort as healing takes place and also it makes other issues rise up to the surface that I had been unaware of. Backache may be kidney pain from stones.. I use the chanca piedra for that. Caution and awareness will make healing less painful. Yes, I would add the supplemental aids to borax to reduce discomfort in transition from deficiency to balance. I know others here use other stuff for stones.

I am engaged in zoom Mark Hemans for miracles this season of my life. I will continue to contend until I get what I am after. Natural things can take me so far and then faith has to pick up the slack. When borax is healing bones or teeth( teeth can heal, if you can put a finger on a part of them, given the right environment) they might shift and start to hurt, old bone injuries that heal can also hurt . Lots of bone pain complaints get people to stop borax short of the results desired from trying it. Borax being mineral that affects hormone too ~( I sweat when I first start using it) so all kinds of hell can break loose, don't mistake that for inability to use it for improved health. Step back lower dose add things that compliment mineral and hormone balance and stay hydrated and educated while you detox and heal. Am I a quitter? Nope! I will control my thoughts in the battle and I will win.

Candida is a sneaky thief that loves sugar and if you control your diet ~it might steal sugar your brain needs to function, causing brain fog. My eyes are having issues with borax use and cataracts are calcium on the eye lens and borax works to remove them and may cause blurry vision in transition. There are many pieces on the chess board and you have to keep your eye on them all if you plan to win the game. I may be moving like a pawn but in the end I will say, King Me!

Milk thistle is an amazing detox and ginger is powerful. When in crisis activated charcoal with plenty of water . If Boron /borax is one of our minerals for balance why would it harm good bacteria in gut. That would not make sense! Gut issues are usually associated with cortisol from fight or flight issues, microbe/enzyme / acid imbalance. One running from the bear does not need to digest food or absorb minerals and the body won't produce bile under stress like that I take ox bile, due to programmed trauma. Always always always REMEMBER ....whenever minerals or water get out of balance the body will produce histamine as a way to warn you. The histamine will create misery.

So borax/boron is one of your minerals. Most drugs include ANTI HISTAMINES and people buy them in the billions of dollars to find some relief that never solves the issues they suffer from. So if you are low on salt then salt will act like an anti histamine. If you are low on any mineral and you balance it with water in body then you stop producing histamine. So if your gut is out of balance I would watch Eric Berg on you tube, I learned more from him than anyone about how and why with pictures and what to do to fix the mess going on in the gut affecting absorption of minerals and nutrients causing all kinds of sickness and misery. I am in the learning process to try to regain lost ground in my life and we all have different needs and issues to address to recover all. Listen to your inner voice to know how to proceed with best results. Fear and Faith are both doors. One gives you cortisol issues and the other good endorphins. Media is opening fear doors with no real solutions. I surround all of you reading this with Faith and Love by His power may Kingdom Blessings chase you and your loved ones down and overtake you,

Hi Mark,

I can only tell you what I am using that is very effective for me, but my arthritis was severe. I do not consider it a cure because I think the arthritis will eventually come back if I stop taking it. In the past when I stopped taking it, symptoms started to return after a couple of months and I started taking it again. In theory the remedy is just replacing boron in our system that may be lacking.

Dr. Rex Newnham found efficacy at a dose way lower than what I take, but the dose he suggested was ineffective for me, so I switched to the dose that Ted recommended for men and I have been in remission since then. I did try the half dose that Ted recommended for women and it did help, but did not completely put me into remission as his men's dose does, so I remain at Ted's dose for men and of course I am trying to afford myself other health benefits that Borax is thought to provide.

Your choice, if you are going to use borax, seems simple. Start at the lower doses that you are reading about and if they work, you are all set! It may be because my arthritis was severe, I needed Ted's dose for men, I don't know, but I do know it is the dose that works for me and so I continue at well over a decade now. Your way may be the best way because some people do not tolerate Borax, so a lower dose may be a safer dose in case you do not tolerate Borax. That is your choice to make.

Frank,

I just weighed a USA 1/8th teaspoon level full of borax on a digital milligram scale and it weighs 445 mg. Using your boron figure for borax of 11.36%, that comes out to 50.552 mg of boron or less than half of what you said. Borax can vary slightly in weight due to moisture content, but not anywhere near that much, 445 mg vs the 1062 mg you mentioned. I say USA 1/8th teaspoon because the size can vary by country.

Based on the above, a US 1/4 teaspoon at level full should offer approximately just over 100 mg of boron.

Borax and Libido 3 years ago I have used Borax for more or less 2 months. Not in high dose. Maybe a knife tip in 1,5 liter of water throughout the day. It pushed me really a lot. I had lots of power and testosterone. But after I quit strange things happened: I had no libido and desire anymore, my testicles shrinked, and only little but no sperm came out the few times I was able to ejaculate.

Since then I never touched Borax anymore, as I blamed it. As I have found in a study of rats, that Borax can destroy their reproductive system, I thought it would have destroyed mine too. What I feel is that I never again produced testosterone as I did before. I have seen here on earthclinic that Ted wrote Borax could overstimulate the glands. - Maybe that happened in my case. Is there a way to refresh or "reset" the glands ? Or does it maybe have nothing to do with the Borax, but with the systemic candida I have ?!? But why there is that study which describes the destruction of reproductive system ?

Does anyone have an idea ? Thank you very much, Oliver

I am currently applying a lot of ginger water and ginger to my diet and it is having some stirrings of issues beneath the surface. Not much enjoyment there but still pushing forward. The body is complex and the mind also affects it. I watch healers and try to learn what they learned in scriptures because no obstacle seems to great for them. What one man can do another can do. Tom Loud and Pete Cabrera Jr make it look like a cake walk. I am following their recent teachings for insights into health issues I could not solve in the natural. Here is a good link on borax. Maybe try ashwagandha & zinc. Vitamin D3 is also important. Who knows what deficiencies those rats were subjected to. Would be interesting to know more details about the experiment (I'm lazy to read it all). So, did the boron eliminate the candida? If it's dangerous, why aren't more males reporting on it with the same outcome? Thanks, Dom

For upping libido or even restoring it, you could supplement with Butea superba, Eurycomma longifolia/Tongkat Ali, maca, Tribulus terrestris, available on eBay. Start with small doses. If you have congestive heart issues, exercise caution. Butea superba suits me well.

Borax, boron and fructoborate tablets? I read if you have liver or kidney issues you do not take boron. What exactly does that mean? I had a rise in my liver enzymes from food that has returned to normal. I also had a rise in bun test that I will be checking on tomorrow. I believe this is also a food issue. I am concerned about the sodium content of borax. Do the boron or fructoborate tablets have sodium also?

Liver enzymes show other things going on besides liver function alone. You could look it up: ALT, AST. Elevation of these could mean bone turnover and other things.

I started taking a pinch of borax in a liter of water on Monday. Did this Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday (today) and had sinus/headache since Monday evening. Tonight I am running a fever. Is this herx or might I have a virus? I've been fighting a cough/sinus thing for several weeks now, better one day then back to the cough and cheek pain. I have been in airports and medical clinics with many sick people around me, so I could have picked something up. I plan to continue the borax unless I feel a good deal worse. I also take 1 drop lugols every morning in water, but that shouldn't matter, should it? I drink lots of water during the day and eat clean, but was snacking a good bit during my airport day (planes delayed, was there a very long time and exhausted when I got home. Over 24 hours, yuck).

Borax Side Effects
Posted by David (Canada) on 03/25/2019

Greetings. I have been watching several of your youtube videos regarding the health benefits of boron supplementation. I am a 62 year old male recently diagnosed with low testosterone. My doctor prescribed testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) at a relatively low dose. As pointed out, Boron can apparently be useful in increasing testosterone and balancing hormones, so I decided to give it a try. Borax of course is a very cheap option for obtaining Boron. I purchased a box of mule 20 team borax at a local grocery store. The only ingredient listed is Sodium Tetraborate. Knowing that Borax contains approximately 11 milligrams of Boron per 100 milligrams, I carefully weighed out 60 milligrams of Borax (providing about 6-7 mg of boron) on a sensitive scale. This I put in a small bottle and added very hot water. To that, I emptied a 150mg capsule of magnesium citrate and shook it very well. Then I poured that into a 15 ounce bottle and filled it with cold filtered water, shook it again, and drank it. That night, I woke at 4 in the morning soaked in sweat. Could this be some form of detoxification? Perhaps I should lower the dose? The next day I did the same thing, although this time I drank the bottle over the course of the day. While I did not wake up in a sweat, I did wake up feeling quite nauseated, which passed later in the day. Again, is this part of a detoxification that could/should pass in time? Any advice, especially from those who've experienced similar symptoms would be greatly appreciated. Thanks much.

Good approach Darren. Way better to start way low especially with a substance like this. More is not better in many cases. Many times consistency is the order of the day. With a pH of 9.3, this is something to start slowly. I might even suggest twice a day at most. Like baking soda, this is probably something to take on an empty stomach perhaps well before a meal to see how it affects you. A Herx reaction can be intimidating. Some folks have a major tox load and can react more. I drink RO water and have a very clean diet with no health issues. Most people eat a toxin laden diet and may not be aware of it. One should not start a detox diet with chelation as this can damage the kidneys. Supplementing Boron should be kept under 3mg/day as an initial protocol. I just got some 20 Mule Power sodium tetraborate and will probably start with 1/8th tsp diluted in a pint of RO water using one tbsp per day of the solution with plenty of additional water throughout the day just to test how I may react.

Sounds like herxheimer reactions to me. I had those, when i started using borax protocol. I had parasites all over my body and took the borax protocol for 3 months straight, skipping only weekends. I followed the suggested dose on this site - 1/4 teaspoon in 1 litre of distilled water daily and took the entire 1 litre each day. It was very, very painful - i was depressed anyway from the parasitic invasion so more pain although undesirable, indicated that the parasites were dying in large numbers. After 3 months, the pain magically disappeared, then I knew I could stop taking borax for a while. I recently started taking it again and get mild depression roughly 2 hours after taking the borax water. Thereafter, I feel fine. I wake with a lot of energy and in great mood daily. And its true that the hormones are affected too, especially and increase in libido. My testosterone levels have gone up.

Hi Oliver, As I was reading your posts and the one I sent you as a reply before I had the thought that maybe a complimentary supplement was missing , like a mineral or amino or fat soluble or other hormone to balance the borax. I had issues when I was on borax before and just read Arts link stating that the borax turned to boron when it went into the hydrochloric acid in the gut and I only used it in foot soaks. There are many men use like small dose progesterone. I don't remember it but Dr. John Lee wrote it in his books, what your doc may not tell you ...series. Dhea is what the body uses to make hormones and you get deficient in it as you age. Vitamin D with K-2 is a hormone regulator and horsetail affects calcium regulation . Iodine affects hormone glands and magnesium is a big one when calcium is involved. Ginger affects circulation and helps food digest . Low stomach acid would affect mineral absorption. Low fat or bad fat diets make it hard for the liver to make bile to break down proteins. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JUkWuGmk_6w hints on iron and zinc https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0tj7VfiURuk estrogen in environment and insulin I heard someone teach that high calcium is behind diabetes and borax moves calcium around . I don't think borax causes diabetes but it might be a temporary die off stage when using borax like kidney stones are and chanca Piedra, stonebreaker, helps remove those.

Other than that molybdenum, selenium, magnesium, manganese, iodine, calcium, silica, gelatin, msm, vitamin C, D-3 and K-2 and biotin, folic acid, a good b complex, A, E, some ginger would help with cleansing, a liver detox or green foods supplement . Override the excess with other vital nutrients. You could also try activated charcoal at bedtime with water to absorb excess .

Borax Side Effects
Posted by Hina (Sindh) on 11/27/2018 2 posts

I have reactive arthritis since 5 years. I'm on day 5 of using borax (two pinch), Baking soda 1/2 teaspoon in half glass of water, ACV, Coconut Oil two times a day 1, I have left wheat, sugar and also doing juice fasting(vegetables mostly). I'm feeling energized but with side effects - low back pain shoulder pain pinched nerves in elbow and lot of acne (milia) comes up on face. I also have dry eyes due to ReA. Hoping I will recover fast. Do anybody have this kind of side effect and when they will subside?

Borax heavily raises my bloodsugars. For 3-4 hours after using it, I have trouble getting my bloodsugars into normal range again. I suspect it's because borax is a mix of boron and natrium (salt/natron), and salt drives down potassium levels. Potassium allows insulin to enter the cells of the body.

Of course, there's plenty of chances that the blood sugar reactions are because borax stresses parasites. Still praying for a breakthrough in all this!

Type 1 diabetes, have had a bone tumor, teeth issues. I got amalgam fillings when I was 14 and diabetes and all the rest of the issues came after that (heavy metal troubles! ). I do wish my family had known about parasite cleansing before all the other crap happened to me!

I have been using borax on and off for about 9 months. I have been having kidney pain and just wondering if borax has been known to cause kidney damage?
