Hawthorn

I've been using hawthorn supreme for high blood pressure. I take two caps and bite them then let the hawthorn liquid dissolve under my tongue. About ten minutes after I check my blood pressure with a home digital monitor. It always goes down. Mostly the top number. If still too high, I take two more the same way. It's worked so far. Both numbers go down about 10 if I take 4 caps. I've stopped my bp medicine by tapering. I'm off it now. Only use the hawthorn.

You should do this with a blood pressure monitor and take notes. Did you eat? After exercise? After the Hawthorn extract or the capsules like I used them. By keeping this journal I can see what happens to make it rise. For me, the Methylene Blue made it rise quite a bit. Smaller dose shows it doesn't rise as much. I can take the hawthorn to balance it. In the process of trying lower doses I'm checking my pressure so its stable. You should check with all your medication and keep a BP journal. Its so important to have a journal and take it all day. Its a hassle but once you figure it out, its worth it.

Kefir

Meenu,

Regular yogurt contains only two probiotic strains namely: L. Bulgarius and S. Thermophilus. Some manufacturers of yogurt add one or two probiotic strains like L. Achidophilus, L. Casei, etc. Since regular yogurt contains only a limited number of probiotic strains, its benefits are also limited. On the other hand, Kefir contains about 30 probiotic strains . So its benefits are many: increased life expectancy, less number of medical problems, increases energy level, etc. If you find a milk kefir starter which also contain L. Reuteri, its benefits will increase considerably. You can take Kefir when the stomach acid level is very low like early in the morning on empty stomach.

Best Wishes P. Raghavan.

Kefir and Apple Cider Vinegar

One of the best treatment for High Blood Pressure is as follows:

1) Take one cup of homemade milk kefir in the morning on empty stomach for 8 weeks.

2) Mix 2 teaspoon of Apple Cider Vinegar, a pinch of sea salt and 1 teaspoon of coconut oil, sesame seed oil or olive oil in a glass of water. Drink this just before dinner for 8 weeks.

These will cure high blood pressure problem.

Kefir is a milk-based Fermented Probiotic food while Apple Cider Vinegar is a Fermented food. But both are fermented foods. According to research papers available in the internet, there are some types of probiotic bacterias that can generate nitric oxide from the foods we eat. These nitric oxide generating bacterias can be classified as follows:

Tier I (critical) = L. plantarum and L. rhamnosus.

Tier II (useful) = L. fermentum.

These three types of probiotic bacterias are in Kefir. Nitric oxide generated by these bacterias will join the blood stream and will dilate all stiff blood vessels in the body. This will reduce the blood pressure.

Apple Cider Vinegar contains -

1) Fiber called pectin - It is called Prebiotic and it will be used by Probiotic bacterias as foods. This will help probiotic bacterias to multiply fast.

2) Many useful enzymes - Enzymes are necessary for many chemical reactions to take place inside our body. If some of these enzymes are missing inside our body, some chemical reactions necessary for our body will not take place.

3) Many Minerals - These minerals will change our body ph level from acidic to alkaline.

Apple cider vinegar also play an important role in reducing the blood pressure especially the enzymes it contains.

Best wishes P. Raghavan.

It is suspected that High Blood Pressure in many cases are associated with well below normal level of Nitric Oxide generating probiotic bacteria in the digestive system. Nitric oxide is generated by these bacterias from the food we eat. Nitric oxide will join blood stream and dilate all stiff blood vessels in the body. Kefir contains nitric oxide generating probiotic bacteria.

One lady in my town took one cup of Kefir in the moring on empty stomach for 8 weeks. The lady was suffering high blood pressure and was Diabetes 2. After this Kefir routine, her blood pressure is now normal and she is not diabete now. Another man who was suffering from high blood pressure did the same Kefir routine. His blood pressure is normal now.

Just because this Kefir routine cleared two people from high blood pressure problem, it will be hard to think it will work for everyone. But one can try this Kefir routine since there is nothing to loose.

P Raghavan,

As it happens, I have just returned from spending a week with my parents and was dismayed to see that my mother, while taking excellent care of my father, has stopped making time for the habits that used to sustain her in excellent health. I have ordered probiotics for her and will follow up with your instructions. Your method seems to be a very logical way to find out the source of her elevated blood pressure. Thank you for sharing it.

Magnesium

I've been fighting pre-hypertensive blood pressure for 2 years. I refuse to go on the "legal" drugs and have been trying Chinese medicine and herbs for the last two years.

Nothing made sense of me having 140-135/90-85 blood pressure. I eat organic, I don't eat red meat, I avoid GMO and chemical foods I go to the gym and run 5 days a week.

By chance I came across Dr Carolyn Dean on youtube and after listening to her video, I bought elemental magnesium as well as magnesium oil.

I started taking about 600mg a day including using the spray I would say 400 pill 200 spray and within two weeks my Blood pressure went down to 120/80 for the first time in a few years.

I realized I had never been eating healthy, because eating healthy doesn't mean eating greens, juicing and avoiding red meats, eating healthy means eating greens & juicing food sources that are mineral'y rich and not depleted as well as avoiding red meats.

I am very surprised to find the warning to not take curcumin, ginger, cayenne pepper or cinnamon for hypertension. All 4 of these foods are frequently recommended to have anti-hypertension properties. Just using search words like: 'ginger and hypertension' will bring up so much information. Do your own research to support your health. Blessings to all.

My blood pressure has been dangerously high this week. I am on lisinopril, hydrazaline and hydrochlorathiazide with no response. I used ACV and baking soda this morning and my blood pressure dropped from 192/75 to 175/80 within a few hours. None of the prescribed medication brought it below 200 this week. My age is 75, I am diabetic and hepatitis C positive. No side effects from this remedy so far.

I began taking 2 drops daily of Lugol's iodine. Within 2 weeks my blood pressure dropped from 135/82 to normal ranges I.e. 120/72 and some days even lower. Also ingesting a tsp of diatemaceous earth but since I was inconsistent with the later, I must credit the iodine. PTL!

Eggplant Water

Someone on this site had posted that her son in law brought his HBP under control by drinking Eggplant water, and it was tried by me and I confirm that it does work.

Now how to do it, peel the eggplant skin off and then make small pieces and put it in a glass jar fill it with water cover it with the lid and put the jar in the fridge, after 48 hrs you can start drinking this water at least twice a day say 200 ml each time. Each time you drink this water, you can put same amount of fresh water in the jar and finish it in three days. After that you can make the fresh batch. The capacity of the jug should be around one to one and a half liter. I suggest you try this and see if it helps, I am sure if it does not help then it is not going to harm you either.

Good luck.

Nattokinase

Here we go again. Trying to solve a problem that doesn't need solving.

Blood pressure and cholesterol are irrelevant when it comes to cardiovascular health. It's all about cleaning the arteries. Nothing more. Of course, too low blood pressure and you can faint.

The problem with even measuring blood pressure is that your blood pressure varies through out the entire day. Blood pressure readings are mostly irrelevant.

Now they are saying that people's pressure varying is the real cause of strokes. The lies of blood pressure are starting to crack. Instead of 1 in 3 people being put on statin drugs, they can put everyone on statin drugs.

The myths of heart disease and strokes are so deeply imbedded in people.

nattokinase supplements. This natural enzyme helps to dissolve fibrin, cholesterol and calcium that has accumulated in the arteries of the body. It is a clot buster.

Fibrolytic enzymes prevents all the problems that high blood pressure and all those other phantom causes is to cause even hardening of the arteries.

Australia I used I stick of Aloe Vera (minus thorns) 1lemon, 1Tbs of honey and a banana for a month to cure my HBP. No result. For an extra two weeks I did experiment and add, 4 young asparagus, 15 flowers of dandellion. It was an excellent colon cleanser, but made no difference with my HBP. (150/105 for too many years to mention. Never used any medications). Franko

Apple Cider Vinegar and Baking Soda
Posted by Jon (Othello, Wa, USA) on 05/20/2012

Steve, when you combine an acid with enough base to neutralize the acid what is obtained is the conjugate base. This is the basis behind alkalization of the body by using things like citrus fruits and vinegar. In the body the pancreas secretes bicarbonate to neutralize acid, whether it's stomach acid (HCl), vinegar, citric acid, or any other acid.

In the case of vinegar it's acetic acid bicarbonate = acetate (the conjugate base)

In the case of citrus fruit it's citric acid bicarbonate = citrate (the conjugate base)

If baking soda (sodium bicarbonate) is used then then the result is sodium acetate and sodium citrate.

So supplementing with either the conjugate base or the original acid should offer similar benefits.

When the conjugate bases are in the blood they will absorb hydrogen ions (one of the definitions of an acid) recreating the original acid. As far as acidity is concerned this is a much weaker acid than the original free hydrogen ions thereby "alkalizing" the body. The body generally uses bicarbonate/carbonic acid for this buffering system, creating carbon dioxide and water as end results. The carbon dioxide is then exhaled to maintain a proper pH. Supplementing with citric acid or vinegar, or the conjugate bases of them, helps this process in maintaining things.

As far as sodium is concerned, several recent metastudies have been released that show conclusively that low sodium diets offer no benefit to otherwise healthy individuals. What was shown was an increase in stress/inflammation factors. Cholestrol, triglycerides, adrenalin, and noradrenaline were all elevated in low sodium diets. The only benefit was an extremely marginal blood pressure drop of 1% or around a 1/2 point drop. However, it should be noted that those who are already hypertensive did experience a slightly greater drop of 3. 5% or around 4-7 points depending on what the blood pressure was to start with. On the other, hand salt really isn't the culprit in hypertension. Instead the culprit is a horrible diet of transfats, low vitamin and mineral intake, overcooked/fried food, sugar, no vegetables, no omega 3 fats, etc...

Your body needs salt. You mean "no refined table salt". You need unrefined sea salt. Unrefined sea salt is a gray like colour and you can only buy it from health food stores. Unrefined sea salt will not raise blood pressure. You have to make the distinction between refined and unrefined because telling someone to cut out all salt is very dangerous. Our bodies need salt (unrefined).

Also processed foods contain huge amount of refined salt.. Cut out processed foods out of your diet.. read the labels how much sodium is in these foods (and I use the term food loosely here).

By the grace of god, my blood pressure has started coming near to normal. The changes I made were I started using sea salt in place of normal salt and after getting up in morning I try to have at least half banana within 15 minutes, that keeps my acidity low, and if thats low my bp is also normal.

I hope you find relief. Best wishes and thanks for such a marvellous website,

Blood Pressure Readings
Posted by Karen (Deland, Fl) on 02/28/2010

To Eve from Liverpool:

That's what we've been told, but unfortunately the information is very misleading and appears to be intentional. I found this article (I've listed below) very interesting, especially where it states that just four years ago high blood pressure was classified as 160/95.

"Here Are the Best Natural Cures for High Blood Pressure:

High blood pressure is classified as a systolic pressure of more than 140 and the diastolic pressure of more than 90. It's interesting to note that about 4 years ago, high blood pressure was classified as 160/95. The lowering of the standard has little to with health risks, and a lot more to do with how much money goes into the FDA, and the entire pharmaceutical industry. This is part of the reason that many of the natural cures for high blood pressure are not publicized. However, without much further ado, here are the best natural cures for high blood pressure:

Apple Cider Vinegar - This is a miracle cure for high blood pressure patients. Apple Cider Vinegar acts very fast, and you will start seeing a difference in your blood pressure within a week with it. You do not need any other medication for high blood pressure with apple cider vinegar.

Dosage - Take one full tablespoon 3 times a day for the best results.

Preparation - Nothing special. If it's too strong for you, you can mix it with a glass of water.

Recommendation - Buy an unpasteurized apple cider vinegar brand. A good one I know of is the _____s organic Apple Cider Vinegar.

Downsides - None as such. You might want to add in a bit of Sodium Bi-Carbonate to help provide the extra carbonates that your body will need due to the acidic nature of Apple Cider Vinegar.

This is easily one of the best natural cures for high blood pressure."

We know from reading EC that raw ACV has worked well for many. Thanks to the drug companies and their scare tactics we've been lead to believe we are all suppose to run somewhere around 120/80. More drugs, more money in their pockets. As if they need it, they are already a billion dollar industry.

High Blood Pressure Reading Tips

To Pat from MO: That's a tough one since we are all different. Conventional wisdom will tell you 120/80 is where we all should be which is ridiculous. Why in the world should we all be expected to have the same blood pressure reading? What we need to know is what is normal for us, not scared into thinking we are going to have a stroke if it's not close to those numbers. Blood pressure goes up and it goes down. I wish I had the answers.

high blood pressure neglect resulted in a stroke for me 2yrs ago. for 2 yrs i survived on meds, but side effects were undesirable, and depending on what i ate there was a tendency for hbp spikes and the resulting weakness and nausea.i was basically sick and weak daily. a co-worker shared a snack of celery and apples with me.i noticed it gave me energy, offset the effects of my meds and stabilized my hbp. i used to check my bp daily, sometimes 2-3 times due to nausea and weakness. now i check it 1x mo just to smile. Raw celery, apples, and red grapes daily- 2times a day at first. after 3 weeks my hbp is no longer an issue. I am strong, nausea free. i stopped anti-coag drug and replaced w 81mg adult aspirin, plus cinnamon caplets, and policosinol( all anti-coag)

I also take garlic, and am researching ginger and tumeric as daily supplmts if doctor consents. i now thinks meds are unnecessary but no doctor consent on this. I usually use, 2-3 celery stalks, one juicy red apple, and as many grapes i desire. Now i do this just once a day. Never tried ACV. My cure has to get to the root of my problem and has to be something i can do for life with no side effects. Celery, apples and grapes daily is the bomb!!!

Apple and Apple Cider Vinegar
Posted by Bill (San Fernando, Luzon, Philippines) on 05/14/2010

The reason Citrus fruits like lemons, lime and ACV are good for the body is that ACV contains malic acid and acetic acid and citrus fruits contain mainly citric acid.

When these acids reach your duodenum, which needs an alkaline to neutral medium for the duodenal enzymes to work, bicarbonates are released from the pancreas to neutralize the stomach acid or chyme. These bicarbonates are also used to neutralize the citric acids from fruits and the malic acid and acetic acid. The acids from the ACV then become their salts -- actetates and malates which are highly absorbable in the intestines and they are referred to as alkaline forming. The citric acid from the fruits is converted to citrates which are also absorbed for the same reasons.

The best way to alkalize is either to squeeze a lemon or lime into a glass, or use two tablespoons of ACV plus 1/4 - 1/2 tspn of baking soda because by doing this you convert the citric acid from the fruits to citrates and you also convert the malic acid and acetates in the ACV to their salts BEFORE you digest them. So you don't need to use your own digestion's bicarbonates to neutralize these acids -- thus effectively saving your body's bicarbonates which promotes even better alkalinity as well as promoting more efficient digestion and respiration for your body overall. Essentially, by using the salt form rather than the acid forms, you are saving the body bicarbonates for use in your body rather than wasting them unecessarily in digestion.

This is also the reason why Ted always advises to take Vitamin C not as Ascorbic acid but as ascorbates. Exactly the same reasoning applies here too. Ascorbic acid is actually a pro-oxidant, and when you add sodium bicarbonate to a solution of ascorbic acid, this then becomes an ascorbate salt of sodium -- an anti-oxidant.

Hydrogen Peroxide

I had an injury to my tongue from biting it. The dentist recommended using a product called Peroxyl, which is just a flavored 1.5% hydrogen peroxide solution. It helped the injury to heal, but as a by-product my blood pressure was lowered significantly. I did go beyond recommended usage. How much hydrogen peroxide is enough and how is dosage determined? It is easy to find food grade H2O2 at 3%.
