Blood Pressure Readings
Posted by Gregg (Petoskey, Michigan, USA) on 02/27/2010
Would like to know if anyone knows (or can direct me to a website) any information on my blood pressure and the significance of the readings. My readings always show a top number that is considered high and the bottom number is normal or below. Typical readings will be as follows: 140/80, 130/68, 120/62 depending on time of day. Is this worse/better (or insignificant) than both readings being high. I just started using Apple Cider Vinager w/mother to try and bring top number down to normal. I am a 54 yr. old male with a resting heart rate of approx. 46 bpm and considered to be very athletic. (6'1", 195 Lbs. 34" waist/44" chest and eat a very healthy diet). Thanks in advance for your help!

Hello Gregg from Petoskey,
You are most welcome. I don't think your 2 tablespoons of honey and 2 tablespoons of light brown sugar will interfere with the action of the ACV, but that is a lot of sweetening for 1 cup or 6 oz water. Must taste kind of like syrup in those proportions. If you have a tendency toward insulin resistance (also known as Metabolic Syndrome X which ends up in diabetes mellitus-type 2) you might want to start cutting down on so much sweets. I have this problem myself, and find that my 2 tablespoons of ACV goes down very well in tomato juice with no sweetening. You might also want to work on reducing your aspartame and monosodium glutamate (MSG) in your foods. You won't be very successful with this until you learn all the names they hide MSG under. Aspartame is usually under NutraSweet or Equal, but MSG has a slew of names in the ingredients lists. You are going to find it very hard to find any salad dressing, tomato ketchup, sauces, broths, bouillion cubes or powders that don't have one or both. When eating out remember that anything made with a sauce or gravy is going to be loaded with one or both. If you search Metabolic Syndrom X on the internet you will find that it starts with excess insulin production - progresses onward through high cholesterol, over weight, high blood pressure to diabetes and all its compliciations including strokes and heart attacks.
One thing I didn't mention because you said you were a very healthy eater, if you are drinking carbonated beverages (I consider one a day, one too many) you need to switch to water, herbal teas or green tea instead. I have been sure since the late 70's that they aren't good for your kidneys, but it was only recently that I read something that might explain why. It seems that when sodium benzoate (preservative) and vitamin C are included in the same food or drink, a chemical reaction occurs that converts the sodium benzoate back into benzene, to find what havoc that can do in your body, just type benzene in the search window and enjoy reading. Cancer of the kidneys is one thing it causes. I have no trouble believing this as a great niece got a kidney transplant on my birthday in 2006 (thanks to cancer of the kidney) and my niece had part of one kidney removed for the same reason about 2 years ago.
Four children I saw in the clinic who were spilling protein in their urine convinced me that carbonated beverages damaged the kidneys when their proteinuria disappeared with having the parents take the kids off of all carbonated beverages, letting them only have milk, fruit juice or water to drink.

Jillery: Problem solved, as you can purchase and take ACV in tablet form (which is my method). Many or most health-food stores should have the tablet or caplet form of ACV.
Apple Cider Vinegar, Dietary Changes
Posted by Roseanna (Indiana) on 08/19/2018
I just read Florrzy's 2010 post about dietary changes. I found it very interesting and helpful. I myself am currently on medication for high blood pressure. In the near future I would like to be able to control my blood pressure naturally and to eventually be able to live without the medication altogether. I have a question that I hope the community may have the answer to.
She said that margarine hydrogenerated fat (which is not really a good thing to eat.) I do love to occasionally put butter on certain foods. I was wondering, since the margarine is not really good for us, do you happen to know if there might happen to be anything on the market that might be a better choice to replace the margarine so that you can still get a buttery flavor either in or on top of our foods? I appreciate any advice that you could offer. Thanks a lot for your help, and the best of luck to you, and best of health to you as discover all the better solution to high blood pressure. - Sincerely, Roseanna

Hi, I read aubout Apple Cider Vinegar lowering Blood Pressure here but if that doesnt work for you try adding 1/2 lemon (use hand juicer) w/ 2 teaspoons of Cream of Tarter and half a cup of water; mix and drink it down... it taste great and it lowers BP. 3 days 2xs a day. Wait a couple of days and do it again if you still need to. susunweed is where I got this and it works.
Also taking ACV and lemons together is the same in their actions so its unnessary take both together.

Hi Tony. I glad this may help you. I should have also mentioned the instructions for the asparagus extract is one cup of hot water added to packet, let sit for 5 minutes, stir and drink... Once a day is recommended for maintaining normal blood pressure range....However if you kidneys are clogged and toxic you can drink up to 3 packs a day and only use half a cup of hot water. If you order the free catalog from herbalhealer.com it has tons of information about ALL kinds of diseases and the instructions on the asparagus is in the book in serveral different places. I find it works btter for me at half cup of water taken twice daily.
If your pressure does not come down, after a few weeks , then you might consider oral chelation...But you would be suprised at the people who simply just have toxic kidneys and they need to be flushed.

Sometimes merely walking into a doctor's office can raise blood pressure. If you can get a blood pressure reading elsewhere besides the doctor's office, it might be interesting to see what reading you get.

Response to Hans:
12/09/2008: Hans from Delft, Zuid Holland / The Netherlands writes: "Hi Ted, Thanks for all your alkalizing advice. I have been using the lemon + baking soda formula for over 6 months now. I have a lot of energy. My skin looks great. The pH of my urine is 7,5 or higher consistantly. I take one lemon plus about 1 teaspoon of baking soda. I add one liter of water. this is what i do twice a day. Now here comes my question. Some people noticed my change in energy and also the way i look. They started doing the same, but they experience a rise in bloodpressure. My own bloodpressure doesn't rise above 125 / 83 even when i add extra baking soda. Could you explain why my bloodpressure stays the same while my friend's bloodpressure rises? Several others didn't report anything but positive from this remedy. My aunt and brothers told me their Acid reflux was gone in a few days. They also experience significant weight loss. Thanks alot!
Best regards,
Hans"
High blood pressure is often caused by chronic dehydration. The body needs a certain amount of sodium, but the body also needs to be constantly flushed by drinking enough water, which will help flush excess sodium from the system. When you feel thirst, you are already very dehydrated as this is one of the last symptoms of dehydration to manifest.
As a rule of thumb, take your body weight in pounds and divide by 2. This simple calculation gives you the number of ounces of water your body needs daily. Coffee, tea, juice, and colas don't count. Divide by 8 and this will tell you how many glasses of water you need each day.
Drinking this amount of water daily will naturally bring your blood pressure in line. A good friend of mine was able to discontinue his high blood pressure medication within 2 months of beginning this practice.
Keep in mind that strenuous physical activity and living in dry climates may increase your water requirements.

True. Dehydration is sometimes the cause. That has happened to me. My blood pressure was high and I drank a glass of water. My blood pressure fell like a rock.

For around 12 months Ive been taking acv - 2 tablespoons with 1/4 teaspoon bicarb in a glass of water on an empty stomach before going to bed Ive also been oil pulling twice a day on empty stomach, 5 days a week for both. This has my GERD under control most of the time but my blood pressure which has been high for years, for which im on medication, remains high as does my cholestorol, this is hereditary and i think maybe in these cases, drugs may be the only answer. I don't smoke, drink moderately and my diet is quite good, i.e. i dont eat much fat........

I would like to try the Budwig Diet. I've had success with the The Grape Cure I used it for high blood pressure, but was unable to last longer than 3 weeks. It really worked and reduced my blood pressure from 180/140 down to 120/80 in three weeks, but shortly thereafter I faltered and began eating a regular American Diet again which has caused it to rise once again. Please send me the specific protocol so that I may give this regime a try and see if it can help with my blood pressure. Thank you ever so much. Stay well, Charles

Hello all, it is good to see that there are others like myself looking for alternatives to meds. I am a 40 year old female and after a dnc surgery procedure my bp had escalated and now i am anemic. I have fought and warded off the advice of my docs to take the pills for a year but since have been suffering from bad headaches, and anemia. Therefore, i had to give in and started taking my meds as of jan 1,09. My bp has since increased rather than decrease. Recently on a dr's visit my pressure went up to 180/110. My doc then recommended that i double up on my dose from 5mg to 10mg. I am so happy i stumbled onto the suggestions on this site and tonight i started my first dose of 3tblspoon acv and 2tblsp of molasses. Will keep you posted on my progress. If this works, why haven't the doctors made reference to it? I have lost all beliefs in doctors. Thanks for allowing me to share, will check in next week Tuesday with updates.btw, my bp pressure tonight was 147/98

I just discovered that my HBP is 188/117. Haven't checked it since 2002 when it was considered perfect. I've been reviewing this blog page and I'm trying to figure out if its the ACV mixed with water or the ACV with Mother mixed with water that is what really works. Is it the Veniger, the Mother or the combined pair that makes up the vital component?

After reading so many positive comments I decided to give it a try. I am a slim and healthy engineer who started taking Prozac for anxiety a few months ago. My blood pressure went up from normal levels to about 138-145/87-95. Given that I am 48 years old my doctor told me that it may also be related to my age and that perhaps I may need to go into medication for it. I started searching and found this website and the comments on ACV. I thought that I had nothing to lose by trying it. I even like vinegar with olive oil in my salads. Given the various options for taking the ACV I opted for one that seemed more sensible for me. Half a glass of water with two tbs of ACV and 1/4 tbs of baking soda. I am taking this three times a day. Early in the morning before breakfast about 1 hour after lunch and 1 hour after dinner. I reasoned that perhaps on an empty or semi-empty stomach would be better. Some people may not like the taste but I am used to it and don't mind it at all. Let me tell you that the results in 10 days of doing this have been very impressive. I have been taking my pressure some times twice a day. My blood pressure started coming down. I have had only one spike one day around the 4th day. I have been 120-125/70-75 in the last five days. So, what can I tell you? Try it out, you may be happily surprised by the results.

I got an e coli infection from eating at a local fast food joint. After the five days of diarrhea I then had a kidney/bladder infection from it.
My blood pressure on tuesday was 149/94. I read on here about the ACV and baking soda. I put two tablespoons acv with with a 1/4 tablespoon baking soda in a full glass of water. About three hours later I took my blood pressure; it was 124/79. Wow, and I feel so much better too!
I had to force myself to drink it, but it was definently worth it.

I was quite amazed today when I went into the doctor. My blood pressure was 150/80 a few months ago and now it's 130/80! A drop of 20 in a few months I think is quite amazing. The only thing that I've been doing different is taking 2 tablespoons of ACV and 1/4 teaspoon of baking soda. I also eat a few peanuts or some peanut butter to help with the taste if it's getting to me one day.

You might get rid of the peanuts because of mycotoxins and consider almonds or walnuts instead. Watch "Know The Cause".

I'm 58 yrs old and with HBP for the last 30yrs. I've been taking Coconut oil and Virgin palm oil (1 tbl spn ea. in the late afternoon or evening) for approx 6 mos. My BP has been reduced drastically whereas I plan to get off it completely (I take one pill in the morning and another one in the evening). I haven't discussed this with my Dr. and I'll get off both of them about a month before my next visit with him to actually see the results. If my pressure is normal I don't think I'll tell him what I've been doing though to keep things simple. He'll re-prescribe my medicine but I no longer plan on taking them as long as my BP remains normal.

I began using VCO on doctor's orders to help combat hypothyroid. My skin, hair, energy levels were all positive results. I also used VCO as a deodorant. However, after a few days I began gaining weight, got dizzy spells and some diarrhea. My blood pressure soared! After continued trials for a couple of weeks, my doctor advised me to stop using it. This was disappointment as I got good results in other areas; however, every attempt made to try it again caused my BP to go higher. I do full body cleanses once or twice a year. Possibly it might help if I did just liver cleanse? I'm 60 years old, exercise daily, eat healthy foods, do drink 1.5 cups coffee in morning and am Blood Type A. Disappointed as not being able to use coconut oil due to HBP. Would appreciate any comments on my HBP problem to be answered on this site. Any insight would be beneficial. Thanks, a CA gal

Fenugreek's leafy form belongs to the spinach family. However, its seeds are useful when cooking to combat the flatulence caused by certain foods, such as lentils and cauliflower. It is an excellent culinary herb for fat reduction. Curry leaf not only makes a dish palatable but also adds flavour and nourishment too. Almost every part of the plant, its leaves, the root, bark, petals and fruits are all made use of either in cooking or medicinal purposes. Spicy curry leaves porridge is useful in the control of health problems. Even if stung by a snake, curry leaves porridge is commonly given to remove poison. It was considered a multi-purpose, all time herb.

Definitely try the cold shower along with the cold bath. My wife knows this Russian secret for youth and longevity. This is it. I am more vigorous, awake, and relaxed after a cold shower or cold bath. Also, try the cold warm rotation method. Sit in the cold bath for a few minutes (yes, submerge your head for a few seconds) and then have the shower fairly warm and do this several times. WOW!!
